Nobody knows anything besides the promotions and a few contracts for each. Unbeknownst to them, the wrestlers are from 2020 traveled back in time without their knowledge. Time is all timey wimey like that sometimes.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Concept</strong></p><p> </p><p> I love the current crop of wrestlers, especially with the push towards women's wrestling. However I hate the current monopoly system of companies. Therefore I came up with a compromise.</p><p> </p><p> Promotions and world is 1980. The wrestlers are current day with just 40 subtracted from birth year and debut day, so they are just as of now in 2020. However I have mixed in some wrestlers who debuted in the late 70s and a lot of promoters and announcers to make wrestling companies feel right. Can you have AWA without Verne Gagne?</p><p> </p><p> Going forward what does it mean? Wrestlers who have retired by 2020 will debut as they debuted in real life. That means Jushin liger will debut in 1984, as an example. I feel it's pretty complete with just adding some more future workers to come, but if you play this and see things to improve please let me know.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>On Tap</strong></p><p> </p><p> Just minor changes to come. Some more future wrestlers. Some other Television stuff. </p><p> </p><p> Also Mid-Atlantic and the NWA. I am not sure what to do about them to convert them to WCW. Also any talent you want added I am more than happy to add. Grimmas Posted April 26, 2020 Author Share Posted April 26, 2020 <p>It's actually going pretty quickly with finishing off promotions by added about 10 wrestlers and staff with champions to rosters.</p><p> </p><p> On top of Stampede, I know have AJW, AWA, WWC, and WWF complete. All I'm doing now is adding future workers to join the game over time. 33 people so far, but I really want all the folks I like to be added to the game or important ones atleast. I've done broadcasters. I've not looked at other TV yet or any narratives, but could work on that. Probably best to release a beta to let people take a look, and see if anything seems too off the wall. However, you really need to put the minimum number of wrestlers so companies can run shows that first week because companies were losing their TV deals because they had to cancel their shows. It's weird that Jerry Lawler isn't in the data given that this was the height of his wrestling career. Or at least have him working as the CC for CWA Memphis. Also, I have no idea what that logo they have is. The 2 usual ones are in the pic pack and should be the default. Also, this is a game issue, not a mod issue per se, but unless Adam ups TV attendance, I'm worried about anyone having no weekly events staying in business for very long. Everyone is being signed to written deals, and I think they don't work well for anyone under Big for being TV only (with 1 monthly event) since the handshake deals are for about 30-40% of what the written deals are so TV might make sense. It's just a weird design choice to seriously nerf TV attendance and have Written deals available at Medium. Basically, I think everyone needs to have a weekly show like CWA has. I thought I had added enough workers to start, but I can add more if people are cancelling shows. It's hard to do tests in this new version, but I will do more before the final release. Lawler I should add. I'm currently adding feature people, so will probably go there. He may not get added due to the Benoit, Jimmy Snuka, people I don't like reasons, haha. He's not in Memphis, because Jarrett is around and Jarrett (his dad) was a big enough part, they still felt like Memphis enough to me. I'll look at the logos too. TV. Maybe I'll go to weekly TV and push up the amount of events too. Really, at that time, promotions were running like 3 shows a week anyway, so not a stretch. My plan was to keep it more open, so people can sign more free agents. I don't mind them not having enough talent to start and they have to hire, but I don't want TV cancelled. I'm adding talent enough and get that fixed.</p><p> </p><p> Lawler's attitude towards women isn't good. Yeah, not a murderer, but someone I really dislike. It's making me add a lot more wrestlers. Especially in places like Quebec where the scene is nothing like it was in 1980 in terms of size.</p><p> </p><p> Added Rick Martel, Jacques Rougeau, Dino Bravo, and Frenchy Martin to make it work. Grimmas Posted May 18, 2020 Author Share Posted May 18, 2020 UPDATE I've added a lot of new wrestlers, and new promotions! Also added unused random photos for wrestlers. Fixed alter egos, turns out you need the original bio as an alter ego as well, otherwise they just pick the alter ego. Every sim I had Jeff Hardy was Willow the Wisp exclusively! Ran some 5 year sims and things are looking decent. Found some things to edit (few people WAY too good, few not good enough) Since today is a holiday, I want to add a LOT of wrestlers not already in the game and make those edits I found from the sim and hopefully get out Beta2. Hopefully today, but maybe will take a bit longer.</p><p> </p><p> As for my process for adding people in general? If they are relatively young in 1980 then I add them as normal. If they are current day wrestlers I subtract 40 years off their age/debut so that they are as they are now in 1980. Now that leaves people who were well into their career in 1980. For those folks I am adding 40 years to their debut/age. </p><p> </p><p> As an example, I just added Abdullah the Butcher. He will now debut in 1998 instead of 1958.
