January 2004 Ruthless Aggression TEW 2020 Mod

Recommended Posts

Thanks for this, been looking for an 04 or 06 cuz that would have been the part of my life that if I had become a wrestler I'd be entering the world. Been playing as an announcer too often.

Hope you enjoy! Looking like the update will be out tomorrow. I ended up spending the day with my wife and kids.

Hey ! Love the mod so far. I've been trying different things to adapt to the game so far. Thank you.

I just noticed that WWE doesn't hold a RR match at RR PPV. Don't know if it's possible to tell the AI to make one (it was in 2016), but i wanted to help. Thank you again ! :D

Thought I set it up to have it. I'll go back and look. Thanks a lot.

Make sure you download the updated pic pack. That should fix the problem

First of all, love the mod. Will start a few games in this era and see where it takes me once the full game is released.

I also have this issue. I have up to date beta 10 patch. I have the most recent picture pack etc.

The names mentioned are without pictures, I have added where needed but even when done the roster page comes up with a blank. Once you click to go in to the profile you can see the picture (That has been added via editor)

Any info on how to have the pictures added to all relevant screens I'd appreciate it.

Can take pics if clarification is needed.

You have to also edit the pictures in their contracts. At least in 2016 that's how you did it. I haven't tried because I just did it manually for the people on my roster and didn't worry about others.

Simmed 2 months to see what was going on, a few things I came accross:

WWE PPV buy rates very high - for example No Way Out got 900k - to put this into perspective the average rating of Raw/Smackdown was roughly 2.7million whilst running the DATA. So this means 1 in 3 people watching the shows where buying the PPVs - a very high percentage.

April Pennington (one of the cage girls) - left TNA and joined WWE - after 3 dark matches her popularity shot to 50... Very unsure how this happened. (something similar happened to Trinity where she jumped from 13 to 69)

TNA were running weekly events without being broadcasted as a PPV (I managed to fix this by changing the weekly event to a TV show (after doing this they are getting 30k PPV buy rates a week, a little higher than what they were getting - maybe due to TNA popular being a little high?) However the data had the monthly PPV's that TNA didn't adapt until 2005/2006 running, eg. Genesis, Lockdown ect.. these need to be changed or deleted from the data.

I think a lot of the TNA wrestlers popularity may be a little too high. At this stage, they had very little exposure. They were performing on weekly PPV to an audience of roughly 10k - the internet wrestling community wasn't as large then either. A few examples: AJ & Daniels both at 55 (similar or even higher than a few WWE midcarders who had been on prime time TV for a couple of years). On the flip side you have Glenn Gilbertti, Jerry Lynn, Kid Kash, Shamrock, Konnan, BG James, Don Callis and Erik Watts with quite low popularity yet they (at that stage) were bigger names than the 'TNA originals'.

Sting has been given a written deal with TNA - at this stage Sting was not signed with TNA. He did a four appearance deal in TNA, had a few appearances in mid 2004 promoting his biopic but didn't sign a contract since late 2005.

I think you may of got ahead with things when it comes to stats for some of the 'internet darlings'. For example Christopher Daniels has very high stats for 2004 - he has roughly the same entertainment stats as Roddy Piper and higher than Jeff Jarrett/Dusty Rhodes (can you imagine Daniels doing a 10 minute promo in 2004 being able to control the crowd the way Roddy Piper could).

A lot of the promotions have vacant booker slots - this is because the owner/booker are the same people - although this is common and we see this overtime on TEW it will create the booker job as available and risk the AI hiring some crazy names as head bookers.

Just having a look at 'other workers' I see a lot of the internet darlings have been given high popularity compared to other wrestlers. Three examples: Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson & Mike Bennett - three wrestlers who have been given 50 popularity in the USA. Again popularity is down to perception but the way I see this is - 50 is very high for three wrestlers who have had no TV exposure at all. 50 popularity makes those three stars more popular than Dustin Rhodes, Terry Funk, Lance Storm and Stevie Richards.

WWC and all its stars seem to be 'over' in Hawaii and unknown in the US - I am unsure of the connection here. The two territories are completely separate and speak two different languages.

Ring of Honor seems pretty well put together - the size of the company and the majority of the stars are put together quite well.. However we have AJ, Daniels and Samoa Joe all massively overly compared to all the other stars. At this stage these three wrestlers hadn't done anything MAJOR outside of ROH but their popularity is much higher than ROH itself?

India - I see all wrestlers/promotions have default popularity in India - is this something you will eventually be changing?

Few other notes: NJPW popularity in the US is very high (60) - this means they will be able to get a BIG tv deal in the USA - something we've never seen before. I would personally get rid of all the 'Local: XX' broadcasters and likewise with the 'US syndication' - seems a bit weird having them

alongside real broadcasters. A lot of the promotions have very high bank balances such as; WWC have 10million, ROH 3 million. John Henningan has has been favoured heavily in terms of popularity, entertainment skills (all in 80s) - how many other wrestlers like this have slipped through the net?

All in all, a great save - just a few observations I made going through the data. Would be happy to help and go through things in more detail if you wish.

I appreciate everyone's help! I ended up seeing some family this weekend and didn't get around to editing. I am doing some know before bed. I'm hoping for the next update release to be tomorrow or early Tuesday morning. Sorry for the delay.

I appreciate your review my dude. I do wanna let you know that iDOL is the originator of this mod. He set all the stats and the pop. These stats and pop have pretty much been the same since the 2013 game with some tweaks. I don't think I'll change too much of his stats. I will say these indie darling you speak of, a lot of them got a lot of exposure throughout the country with being in many promotions at once on different nights. I feel a lot of their pops are okay. I'm sorry you disagree. I will go through and double check to be certain but I don't think I'll touch many stats. As for No Way Out I only got it a 400k buyrate..but I'll revisit it too

I appreciate your reply mate. The popularity of stars are always going to be up for debate - I get it. People have favourites and people find different things entertaining. Which is why I used the comparisons. I understand during the 2000s many indie stars did work the full circuit but this wasn’t exclusive to joe, Daniels, aj, punk, Daniel Bryan - many indie stars did the same. I think you’d be doing the data an injustice if you let these imbalances slip by! Of course it is your data and the decision is ultimately with you!

Morrison wasn't supposed to be that high in stuff. That was an accident and I personally set him that way to see something. So finances are set up to be more realistic in this game. So a company like WWC or ROH should have WAY more than the like $400k from 2016. I will lower them a bit but not much. WWC having $10Mil is a bit high. but the smaller companies will not go below $1Mil. Like I said in my other comments I am not the original mod maker. I'm just converting things to make it playable. You are the first person to point this type of things out to me. I appreciate it. I do! I think I'll wait to see if others share the same feelings as you. I did one thing the other day and someone else didn't agree.

Feel free to shoot me messages of things you think might need changed and I'll take a look into it for you. I am currently about to rework some personalities.

I was able to update the data tonight after all! Tomorrow I will release another update with many personalities redone. Should be out by 9pm US Central Time. I do not know anything about Japanese workers so I can't touch them unfortunately.

Booked my first RAW. I like the data so far. Would up booking an 89 OVR show. I'm not sure if this is an angle thing or a product thing but decent portion of my angles bombed. Highest angle was Foley hyping a match with Triple H which came in with an 81 but then Molly stripping Trish was a 30 and 2 segments between Rock and HBK vs Jericho and Christian came in at 57 and 60.

Couple of quick things:

Pictures aren't matching up with the WWF/E titles and some of the WWE roster, which someone had already stated.

Relationships. You've got some in the database which wouldn't have existed for another 5-10 years like Elijah Burke and CM Punk, Triple H and Del Rio, Ryback and Triple H and Cena and Daniel Bryan.

Angles are a mess. Looks like someone grabbed every angle pack available in 16 and threw it into this mod and there is a LOT of duplicates.

I don't know if this is a mod thing or something wrong with the game itself but got very small amount of viewers for J Sports 4, Sky Sport 1, Sky Sports, and then Sports Network had 0 viewers.

Please don't take this as me picking on your mod or giving you a hard time. Appreciate all the work you are putting into this and hope you have the best of luck with it. This is actually one of my favorite time periods in the business and this seems to be a really good start.

Thx for the great work!

one thing i have noticed: products probably need to be reworked at some time. TNA f.e. is classic sports entertainment.

You get major penalties if you book a TLC Match in TNA(Ultimate X isn`t there so i took the closest danger/risque-wise). Risky or Dangerous Match types are important for TNA, or for the X-Divison at least.

Sabin vs Bentley vs Daniels vs Low-Ki got a 33 Rating in a 14 Minute TLC Match.

But to be fair, i am not sure which product really fits. No-Style, Nerd Nirvana, Stoner Entertainment or Attitude Entertainment maybe?
