Board Effort Mod - AI Reboot

Potential Projects

Companies

1. Establishment of a traditional Indian wrestling company (Mine is not)

2. Creation of a company in Tasmania (Assigned)

3. Creation of a company in Wales

4. Creation of a company in Quebec (Want it to showcase French Canadians)

5. Establishment of a developmental in Mexico for the 2nd largest company. (Assigned)

(if anyone is interested in the above contact me in here)

Renders

1. Would definitely love to find another dedicated renderer.

2. Refs (Probably the weakest area)

Primary data has 4,571 overall workers with 2,244 without renders but I do have over 1,000 renders yet to assign.

Secondary data being used to establish and import title histories especially in older companies currently has closer to 10,000 workers. A majority of these will be deleted from the final data though.

Logos & Events

Aja_nyc did the majority of the work here already. I'll have to look to see specific areas he missed. I think all companies except the new ones I'm considering are complete. I think he covered at least half of events, most of the broadcasters, etc. Only one really glaring is...

1. Stable logos

Intangibles

1. overall balancing

2. check renders for duplicate assignment. Minus twins which were done on purpose.

3. check contracts for missing renders.

Side note

2020 roster specifications seem to have increased so a lot of companies ended up needing a 2nd ref hired, 2nd road agent, 3rd announcer/commentator and usually between 5-10 additional wrestlers.

I randomly filled those holes with unemployed workers except one. Most were assigned as tag-teams as several comps seemed to be short and earlier test games were adding 4-6 new tag-teams along with filling these roster holes.

Can't remember which one it was but that one comp... it's specs stated it needed to go from 30 to 60+ wrestlers on the roster. I lowered it's owners roster preference 2 levels instead.

Increased rosters haven't been tested yet so old rosters might potentially have some new stars or hidden gems included and stats may need to be lowered on these so they don't overshadow preexisting talent. As such I primarily had added newly generated talent so they can be identified later by their organic bios.

While my internet connection's gone, I've been tinkering with the database, but I wanted to know if you like this idea...

...or if I should run with another concept entirely: other cool concepts I've been toying with, there's a RAW analogue (but with a Lighthearted Entertainment product) that's run by a TV channel whose owner resembles Mark Carnie, so basically a thinly veiled Silvio Berlusconi analogue (up to and including at least a relative of some foreign strongman in the roster), a Gritty Adult Noir company based in Sicily that's all about standing up to the Mafia in and out of kayfabe, and a women's company a Respectful Wrestling approach, founded by a female veteran who was briefly contacted by not-Mark Carnie, only to pull out before his own company's debut after it became clear that he wasn't interested in including female wrestlers as more than comic relief or eye candy.

Which one do you prefer, out of these four concepts? :D

Any of them will work. Only catch is in this database Italy, Greece and Turkey are Southern Europe and South Medi is set as the North African coast east of Gibralter and Israel, Palestine, Lebanon and Malta.

Just wanted to make sure no one else had picked a similar concept, having two more or less identical companies in the mod would be kinda weird.

The only one even close to resembling another fed in the data may be the women's fed and that's mainly cause it's a women's fed. :p

Carnival Days

Ancient Commedia dell'Arte and modern professional wrestling have been compared more than once, in that they feature performers playing very defined roles that improvise most of their lines, or moves, while following a loose plot where only the most important set pieces have been planned and rehearsed in advance.

It shouldn't come as a surprise, then, that [?], heiress to one of Venice's oldest families, decided to take things full circle by using some of her family's finances (or what's left of them, since the fate of her family and that of the city have been one and the same for as long as there's been a Venice, and things have been going south for the city since before Napoleon rolled in) to prop up a touring professional wrestling promotion that takes that comparison, and milks it for all its worth.

Mixing the light-hearted humour of the ancient comedy troupes and the rock-solid technical grappling of the strongmen (and strongwomen) of old, WLW may be to the earliest days of professional wrestling what steampunk novels are to the Victorian era (that is, if you're looking for an accurate portrayal of it, you should probably look elsewhere), but if mad engineers and sky pirates can be entertaining, why can't WLW be that, too?

If you incoporate the Carnival idea to the point of needing Carnival themed renders then I have 3 available where someone previously had an idea but apparently scrapped it.

Ringmaster render

Strongman render

Fire breather render

There is a Bearded Lady render but a different bearded lady is already in the data with a much better render. The render stashed away in the Carnival file has a beard that looks like someone put fuzzy 80's legwarmers on her neck.

Just wanted to drop this little mini-bomb in here...

July 22nd... 2 days before my birthday my mom will be undergoing surgery for ovarian cancer. I honestly don't know how this will play out but everyone is confident the surgery will be successful. As far as we can tell it's caught very early in stage 1 but at the same time she's 73 and her health has fluctuated up and down over the last 10 years. There's always a risk in surgery even when healthy.

GREAT NEWS... Just finished talking to my mom after her doctors appointment today.

They got it all. She's cancer free and should be back to normal in 3-4 weeks.

Are you still looking for someone to write-up a Manitoba or Alberta, or are you now primarily focused on Quebec? I think I'd like to take on one of the former, but not the latter.

Would possibly take on Wales if neither of the above, but I'd have to do some homework.

One of those would be just fine.

i would a copy of the latest data and graphics of this mod...

It's not ready to share even with people that worked on it. I'm still developing characters that were mass added to fill out the database and some may get an update that requires a render change and/or a name change.

I had to go through every single company cause roster size parameters are different. One owner had his preference at maximum and his roster requirement went from 25 to 60 so I lowered his setting. Just about every company in the game needed an additional referee and some areas didn't have any to spare.

New companies were submitted and a couple future companies were activated to fill in the gaps created by additional regions being added. One new submitted company I'm gonna have to rewrite the bio cause it's twice the size allowed. None had rosters submitted beyond an owner, a booker or a main star

TEW2020 caused the need for a massive overhaul.

I can send you the rebuilt broadcasters to test since the new additions aren't tied to them yet.

I realized about a week ago that if I released this mod unfinished it would showcase a near 15 year legacy of renders, logos, etc. in the graphics pack.

And that is why I'm still working on it. This one last ride is going until I can't get back up on the horse and my family has a legacy of living into their 90's. Means I might see TEW2060 if Adam can keep up.

Progress Update

Assigned renders to all male wrestlers active and future.

Assigned renders to all active female wrestlers. (90 future remaining)

All managers male & female have renders assigned. (active & future)

Removed about 300 surplus unsigned staff characters

Render Issues:

Ran out of Asian renders

low on most other ethnic renders except "white males" for all worker types

out of ref renders (acquired a program to add ref shirts to surplus renders)

very low on staff renders

Next:

Start attribute, popularity and skill adjustments.

(When the mod was converted to TEW2020 a disproportionate number had been assigned the "class clown" attribute.)

Work on special projects.

Add more tag-teams and stables.

Test the rebuilt broadcasters.

... ... ... lost my train of thought watching Revenge of the Sith :p

Achievement: 90% of the characters in the database have now been assigned renders.

Wrestlers active & yet to debut, male: complete female: 2 Indian wrestlers remain.

occasional Wrestlers: complete

Managers: Complete

On Screen Personalities: Complete

Refs, males: Complete

Refs, female: 27 remain

Road Agents: 16 left all Japanese but being created

The majority of the remaining 10% are announcers & color commentators. May not sound like a lot but this database has roughly 35% more characters than the default data.

Minor disappointment: Found that one of the earliest created companies never had titles added into the data. This company was originally created roughly 2 years before I joined the forum and possibly 3 years before I joined the mod. Usually we were hands off each others creations barring a few minor exceptions but this particular company is definitely making that courtesy harder as most everything else is wrapping up. Removal is not an option as this is 10+ year legacy content and the legacy renders created are among the most unique ever on the site.

Render assignment: 96.9% complete

Most remaining are announcers

Character count is at 4,000 (124 without a render still)

Company count is 60 active including one active Indian promotion.

Considering a 2nd Indian company and a Mexican women's company and there is one active with a roster still to fill out. These 3 would give the mod more active employed workers than the C-verse has overall.

Most characters are unique with no connection to the c-verse.

A lot of unique renders with some dating back to 2007/2008 by previous contributors coupled with more recent contributions both public and private. The public ones may be in other mods.

Some unique-ish renders have variants (I'll use the Loki term here) in other mods that were released after contributors moved on to other projects.
