O CANADA

A CVERSE DYNASTY

January 01 2018.

That was the day that Canadian wrestling changed forever.

That is what they always say. That was the day when North of the Border Pro Wrestling and the Canadian Grappling Company fused to become one. Two promotions which had always been bitter rivals had come together to become the Canadian Wrestling Alliance. This was the coming together of the Stone family and the DeColt family, the Canadian wrestling scene's own equivalent of the Hatfields and McCoys. Two once proud families were forced to unite in a last ditch attempt to remain relevant in the era of the 'Big Three' below the border.

It worked.

Yet the whole affair left a good number of us feeling hollow. Canada was supposed to be a nation of proud wrestling tradition and yet we were expected to accept a monopoly in Alberta just because we could feasibly compete with the Americans? That might have sat right for some but not everybody. The jaded few, the forgotten fans, the wrestling nerds. They had to look further afield until they found an alternative. And they did...

And naturally it was in Montreal...

ALL CANADA PRO WRESTLING

ACPW was founded in August 2009. In light of the CWA merger, many of ACPW's loyal fanbase were quick to point out that the promotion was now the oldest active wrestling promotion in Canada. The company eventually adopted this as a tongue in cheek tagline but in the ring, ACPW were anything but old school.

The Quebec based promotion found success almost immediately by embracing their alternative style. Instead of attempting to compete with the bigger boys, they stood out by offering something different. While wrestling companies had traditionally sought the biggest men they could find to fill their roster, ACPW immediately implemented a 230lb maximum weight limit. This allowed them to piece together a roster full of talented outcasts who were overlooked due to their size but when placed in an ACPW ring, they were able to put on fast paced, hard hitting matches which captured the attention of internet wrestling nerds around the world.

The cutting edge ideology of ACPW continued into the next decade as they became the first wrestling company in North America to implement women’s wrestlers on the same level as the men. Just like smaller men before them, women wrestlers were often overlooked by the bigger promotions and when used they were often limited to opening matches as part of a limited division.

The true alternative from the true north. For many, ACPW continues to be Canada's best kept secret. To their loyal, passionate fanbase, ACPW is the best kept secret in professional wrestling.

Now that you are up to date, bud...

WELCOME TO THE ALTERNATIVE.

ALL CANADIAN PRO WRESTLING

2020 ROSTER

AMERICANA JR.

As his name suggests, Americana Jr. was the protege of Americana. While Americana found success by travelling abroad to Japan, his protege has remained a lot closer to home by competing in Quebec. He continues to honour his tutor by wearing a near exact copy of his original mask. At only 23 years of age, Americana Jr. has barely made an impact on the wrestling world or ACPW but given his talent and obvious potential, that will likely change in time. The most noteworthy aspect of Americana Jr is that despite wrestling in a company without true faces or heels, his patriotic mask earns him heat on every ACPW show and he faces an uphill battle to win the crowd over.

ANT-MAN

I am told that Ant-Man is capable of slamming men twice his 220lb weight. Unfortunately for him, that skill doesn't really benefit him in a company with a strict maximum weight limit of 230lbs. That aside, Ant-Man has been with ACPW for eight years and is one of the biggest names amongst the company's fans. Ant-Man is able to stand out in ACPW due to his ripped body and power move heavy style. Ant-Man is only one belt away from completing the company's triple crown but that belt happens to be the big one, the ACPW Junior Heavyweight Championship.

CANADIAN DRAGON

He no longer wrestles but Canadian Dragon is a vital name in the ACPW dressing room. The man is an icon for many Canadian wrestling nerds as he spent his prime traveling around North America, proudly wearing a mask emblazoned with the Canadian flag. He works for ACPW as the chief road agent but also helps the talent train and improve their skills. He also runs the Dragon Academy, where many future Canadian talents will likely come from. We will hopefully be seeing them in ACPW in the future!

CAPTAIN CANADA

No relation to the dragon but carrying the mantle of Canadian themed masked wrestler. Captain Canada is only 19 years of age and debuted in the company less than a year ago so he is one to keep an eye on for the future. Many expect the graduate of the WWA: Canada school to follow in Canadian Dragon's footsteps by moving to Mexico in the future but ACPW will be hoping to get some good years out of the talent while he develops.

DAEDALUS BUCHINSKY

This is a man who has most certainly never stepped in the ring and at 44 it is unlikely he ever will. That's okay though as his impact on ACPW is unquestionable as both the founder and current owner of the company. Buchinsky grew up a fan of wrestling and particularly high flying wrestlers so bankrolling ACPW and giving smaller athletes a chance to fly has truly been an honour for him.

DAGGER

An American athlete whose background in kickboxing has helped him develop a unique kick heavy offence. Dagger has been with ACPW throughout the company's existence and has developed from hot young singles talent into a member of the Nest of Vipers tag team with Mimic. Dagger is now 33, popular with the fans and a solid all-around wrestler so it may soon be time for him to attempt to complete the triple crown by chasing the ACPW Junior Heavyweight Championship.

DEVYN REYNAUD

Reynaud is one of the wrestlers on the ACPW with experience with one of the bigger Canadian promotions, having endured two frustrating years of misuse by NOTBPW. Upon leaving that promotion due to lack of direction, Reynaud found a home in ACPW and the high-flier has found more success in his home province of Quebec, winning the tag titles twice with partner Kamikaze as the team OMG.

ERIC BLACKLEY

'The Blackheart' is a relative veteran of the Canadian independent scene. One of the talents who wrestled for the former largest independent company in Canada, 4C, who met their end following the CWA formation as they attempted to expand to fill the gap of a second Canadian promotion. Blackley is a better worker than he ever was in 4C and has since found a home in ACPW. At 31 years of age, he will be hoping to win his first taste of ACPW gold sooner rather than later.

ERIN GREY

She holds the proud distinction of being the first (and currently only) female athlete to win ACPW gold. In the October of 2019 she won the ACPW Tag Team Championships with her Precision Striker partner Spencer Edmund. It's no coincidence that Grey holds that distinction as the 21 year old is clearly viewed as a future star and has been booked strongly since her debut. The young American is one to keep an eye on for sure and has already been tipped by many ACPW fans as a potential future triple crown winner.

FACE NELSON

When Nelson joined the newly founded ACPW in August 2009, he was largely unknown on the Canadian wrestling scene. Within months, Nelson went from being the unknown colour commentator to being the companies head booker, a position he holds to this day. Nelson's work is highly praised by ACPW fans and is held on a similar level to Bachinsky’s money as reasons ACPW has survived and even prospered for over a decade.

GRAM GORMAN

This Northern Irish-born Canadian is one of the hardest hitting wrestlers in ACPW and the fans appreciate that every time he hits one of his loud chops or vicious headbutts. Gorman was a big hit as soon as he debuted with the company and had won both singles titles within two years of his debut in 2013. In 2018 Gorman teamed with Grimm Quibble to form a bit of a super team to win the ACPW tag team titles, making Gorman a triple crown winner in half a decade. Gorman remains one of the company's biggest stars but at just 29, his vicious style is starting to take its toll on his body.

GRIMM QUIBBLE

Quibble has been on the Canadian wrestling scene for fifteen years and even spent four of those years with CGC. Quibble faced a familiar problem which has faced smaller wrestlers however as he struggled to be taken seriously despite his obvious talent. This was most obvious in 2008 when Quibble was able to win his first and only CGC title belt by taking the name Quibble the Clown and teaming with Whippy the Clown to win the tag straps. Frustrated that he had worked so hard to improve only to be given a clown gimmick, Quibble quit in 2010 and was immediately rewarded with a place in ACPW where he quickly became one of the company's biggest stars. Quibble is now a five time Junior Heavyweight champion, the most in the company, and thanks to a tag title run with Gram Gorman, he is only a Canadian Regional title run away from being a triple crown winner. Whether Grimm is willing to drop down the card for such an achievement is yet to be seen.

HEATHER B

A local manager who has been with the company since the beginning, Heather B managed Jamie Atherton for years before switching to Jayson Van Pelt later on. Heather has never improved beyond being an okay talker and has no interest in working in ring. She has a good look however and has always been happy to help backstage so will likely be around the company for the foreseeable future.

HUDSON DRAKE

When ACPW was first founded, gimmicks were treated as an absolute no-no and faces and heels were non-existent. As the company has developed, those in charge seem to have realised that a little leeway is necessary in this department and ACPW has lightened up from its initial super serious presentation. Hudson Drake is the prime example of this change. A former 4C star, Drake is a solid wrestler who is an excellent talker when playing his fast talking yuppie character. Flanked by manager Isabella Encanta, Drake's character has gotten surprisingly over so far in ACPW and Drake is the current reigning ACPW Canadian Regional champion. It just goes to show that no matter where you are or who you are, the cocky heel character will always hit a nerve.

HUGH DE ASKE

'The Dread Pirate' is one of the few ACPW athletes who finds employment elsewhere, currently holding titles in both CZCW and IPW in California. ACPW is the Belgian pirate's first home though and Aske continues to be loyal to the Canadian athlete, maintaining his home in the nearby city of Ottawa. Another former 4C athlete, Aske found success immediately in ACPW and has already held the Junior Heavyweight belt on one occasion. While Hugh is one of the most talented wrestlers on the roster, many fans are certain that the ambitious 31 year old will be signed to a written contract at a bigger promotion in no time.

ISABELLA ENCANTA

The manager of Hudson Drake who followed her 4C client to ACPW as the duo was able to continue their fruitful partnership in Montreal. Is almost as good as Drake on the mic, Encanta plays an important part in their arrogant yuppie duo.

JAMIE ATHERTON

'White Lightning' is another wrestler who joined the company when it first began and found immediate success as a main eventer, ultimately winning the junior heavyweight championship on three occasions over the next decade. Atherton is a charismatic wrestler with a good look and decent in-ring skills but after a decade of the fans fearing he'd be snapped up any moment, the 31 year old is beginning to seem like an ACPW lifer. This career crossroads has left Atherton without much direction within the company and what happens next with him remains a bit of a mystery.

JAYSON VAN PELT

Jayson 'The Sensation'. JVP. Whatever you choose to call him, Jayson has consistently been one of the biggest stars in ACPW since the company debuted in 2009. Although Jayson won the main title in 2016, he is often most associated with the Canadian Regional championship which he held on four occasions between 2010 and 2015, more than any other wrestler to date. He is charismatic, decent in the ring and clearly good looking so it is no surprise that Jayson has found employment around the world, appearing for OLLIE in Mexico and SAISHO in Japan. Van Pelt is still based in Quebec though and remains one of ACPW's most popular stars. Whether a second title reign comes before JVP is snatched up by a bigger company is yet to be seen as the 31 year old has obvious potential for stardom.

KAMIKAZE

A former two-time tag team champion as part of OMG with Devyn Reynaud, Kamikaze has made different headlines recently as the newest member of the ACPW roster to find success abroad. Recommended by JVP, OLLIE has recently hired the impressive high-flier due to his aerial ability and he is a current holder of their trios belt alongside Van Pelt. Kamikaze is another wrestler who has held the Tag titles and Canadian Regional title but is yet to win the Junior Heavyweight championship. Whether he will complete the set or leave to find bigger success in Mexico will be his next big choice.

KATYA KORNISHKOVA

A British wrestler who pretends to be Russian while wrestling in Canada. Katya was one of the final graduates of the AAA academy before the American women's wrestling promotion went out of business but she found a new home in the newly women-integrated ACPW. At only 21, Katya is still green but has some clear potential and has shown great enthusiasm with wrestling against the men in ACPW as a way to reach her best. Clearly one for the future.

KENNY CALLAWAY

Another Canadian wrestler who previously called CGC a home, Kenny wrestled under the name Stunning Stuart as one half of the Varsity Boys tag team but never found enough success to win the tag straps. When Callaway was let go from CGC, it was expected that he would find employment in no time due to his standout wrestling abilities but it wasn't until 2016 that Kenny found a job in ACPW. Perhaps Callaway struggled to find work due to being seen as an unsuccessful tag team wrestler but he quickly made it clear that he was so much more upon joining ACPW. Callaway's in-ring ability made him a huge star amongst the ACPW fanbase and after two title reigns with the Junior Heavyweight title, he remains one of the biggest stars in the company. For many, a third run with the belt is a matter of when rather than if.

MARCEL LAFLEUR

LaFleur should be a huge star in ACPW. LaFleur was trained by the Stone family at NOTBPW's training facilities and he was instantly compared to his trainer Duane Stone, complemented by an aerial ability which Stone never had. Following the completion of his training, LaFleur was sent to ACPW by NOTBPW in his home province to gain experience. When NOTBPW closed down to merge with CGC, LaFleur was left without an obvious path to the top and he has languished in ACPW since. LaFleur is an obviously talented wrestler with plenty of untapped potential and the Montreal fanbase of ACPW is more than willing to get completely behind a local boy but it just hasn't happened yet. Rumour has it that LaFleur's hype has gotten to his head and caused him to be a backstage problem and this is perhaps the reason why LaFleur hasn't given his all to ACPW which he perhaps sees as below him. Going forward it will be interesting to see what happens to LaFleur. Will CWA bring him in to work with Duane Stone, will he embrace the ACPW and become the local star many hope he will or will he cause himself to go down as one of Canadian wrestling's biggest missed opportunities?

MARIA GUEST

Guest was taught by three time AAA champion Farrah Hesketh and developed a talent for technical wrestling but was unable to find a role in the wrestling world beyond being an occasional jobber for Hesketh's QAW organization. In late 2017 however, she finally found a home when she became the second women’s wrestler to join the newly integrated ACPW. at 25, Guest is still one for the future but she is a fantastic advertisement for the integration of ACPW. As a small, skinny technician, she would struggle to find work in any major wrestling organization but she is perfect for the ACPW style.

MARIO DA SILVA

The current Junior Heavyweight champion and the perfect example of how the ACPW crowd wants to be won over. The Brazilian entered the company in 2009 and stood out due to his expertise in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but was initially still very green and the fans didn't really care about him. This slowly changed though as Da Silva improved in the ring, improved on the mic and began to stand out due to the submission heavy style he adopted. Three reigns with the Canadian Regional belt later and Da Silva was now one of the most popular wrestlers on the roster. Following his third reign in which Da Silva held the title for a year and seven months, the crowd were clamouring for Da Silva to win the top belt and it finally happened in October 2019 when Da Silva made Hugh De Aske tap out to a huge reaction from the Montreal crowd. 'The Tap Out Artist' is now the champion and one of the biggest names in ACPW. At 32 years, Mario still has plenty left in the tank and hey, he is only a year and five months away from matching his longest title reign.

MARTY TUXFORD

A graduate from the 'House of Stone' academy, there was zero interest in Tuxford from the CWA due to his lack of size and charisma. Tuxford is a young Canadian high-flier though so ACPW inevitably brought the 20 year old in. He has been no more than a dark-match jobber so far but ACPW will hope to tap into some hidden potential eventually.

MIMIC

When Mimic joined ACPW when it first started, he was little more than a lower-card spot monkey but he has since been one of the shining examples of ACPW's ability to develop a wrestler. Mimic is now a talented high-flier with an understanding of psychology and at 32, he is one of the biggest stars in the company. Mimic has held the tag team title on two occasions with his partner Dagger and has held the Junior Heavyweight title on three times. He is another wrestler who is a Canadian Regional title away from the triple crown. Many ACPW fans and those in the back office expect a bigger company such as the CWA to sign him to a written contract any day now.

MURRAY FIRTH

One of the two graduates of Canadian Dragon's Dragon Academy in ACPW, Firth is a 19 year old Canadian who clearly learned from Dragon's puro background. Firth has been in the company since he was 18 and is already a reasonable technical talent, with an obvious Japanese influence on his style. Could certainly be one for the future, although a contract in Japan might tempt him once he develops further.

PARKER TERRY

Terry proves that ACPW doesn't just develop the next generation of wrestlers. Terry is a 3 year ACPW veteran at just 23 years of age and is in fact a referee. A very good referee at that. Very popular amongst the backstage crew, Parker Terry has a very bright future as a referee. Yes, he's very good at counting to three.

REGGIE BISHOP

On a roster packed with interesting talents who pull off remarkable moves, Reggie Bishop doesn't stand out in the slightest. At 27 years old, it's unlikely Bishop will ever be a star but he has become an unsung hero of the ACPW roster. Bishop can put together a reliably solid, safe match with just about everybody and in his 6 years with the company, he has helped make many rising stars look good. As long as he is happy in this role and doesn't mind laying on his back while staring at the lights, he likely has a position in ACPW for many years.

ROCCO RENOIR

Another graduate of the WWA: Canada academy and another French-Canadian athlete, this time from New Brunswick. 'The Picture of Prettiness' is only 19 but can already work a solid high flying style as well as cut a decent promo. Is another wrestler who has mostly been in the lower card since his debut but has undeniable promise.

ROYCE GREIG

Greig has been a referee with ACPW since the very beginning, finding a home in the Canadian promotion after working smaller shows on the independent scene in his home state of New York. As far as his refereeing goes, it's solid and reliable. Which is more than enough for ACPW.

SIMONY SENTINEL

Whatever happens in the career of Simony, she will always have made history as the first female wrestler signed to a contract by the newly-integrated ACPW. The American AAA alumni catches the eye with her purple hair and wrestling attire but she also catches the eye in the ring with a talented high flying offence. In her two years with ACPW, she has continued to look impressive but has yet to win gold. This will likely be the next step for 'The Violent Violet' as she is no doubt hoping to be the first female to win singles gold in ACPW.

SKY KING

When Sky King joined the newly founded ACPW roster in 2009, he was already a veteran in the locker room. At 40 years old, his career is now winding down after being a consistently solid talent for the company. It's unlikely he will add to his single Canadian Regional title and single tag title run with Reggie Bishop but his bitter veteran gimmick has briefed a small bit of life into his character. It does seem like he is planning on sticking with ACPW long term though as he has begun to transition into road agent activities at recent shows.

SPENCER EDMUND

'Staggering' Spence Edmund was the first graduate of Canadian Dragon's dojo to enter ACPW and is the protege of Dragon. At 20 years old, Edmund clearly has plenty of potential and in just one year with the company, he has already won the tag team titles and currently holds them with his partner Erin Grey. Edmund still has plenty of improving to do and the ACPW fanbase has yet to fully embrace the youngster but he and Grey are two of the company's hottest young talents and ACPW will be hoping the two have a long career in Montreal.

TONY MARSH

Marsh is the voice of ACPW. It would be unusual to hear an ACPW show called by anybody other than Marsh and that is simply because it has never happened. A very professional figure backstage, the 43 year old is likely to be voice of ACPW for the considerable future unless the CWA plan on shaking things up at the announce desk.

TOPHER SMITH

Another wrestler who has been wrestling with ACPW since the company began. Smith occasionally goes by Topher 'The Gopher' to complete the animal named tag team 'The Gopher and the Ant' with Ant-Man and this is where he has found the most success, winning the tag team titles on four occasions. Smith is a solid wrestler who is continuing to improve at 29 years old and some suspect that he may finally find success as a solo wrestler. Whether this is with ACPW or elsewhere is the real question.

VIRGIL VOSS

'The Boss' is only 20 years old but you wouldn't know it just from looking at him. Voss has a thick blonde beard and long blonde hair, which is held back by a headband like an 80s rock star. Where Voss' age does show however is in the ring where he is still incredibly green. Voss does have potential however and he stands out due to his stiff strikes and suplex heavy offence. Another bonus for Voss is that he is incredibly enthusiastic to be in ACPW. A Montreal native, Voss used to frequent ACPW shows as a youngster and the current fanbase are absolutely prepared to get behind the career of a man they see as one of their own. For now, though, Voss is still jobbing at the foot of the card as he improves his skills.

Zachary Inc

One of the few American athletes to train at the House of Stone, Zachary became a frequent fixture on the Canadian independent scene following his training. His offence is very punch and kick based and he is unable to wrestle for too long without running out of stamina. At 29, Zachary found a stable gig in ACPW but his limited skills and obvious flaws have kept him lower on the card.

ACPW JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

"The Tap Out Artist" MARIO DA SILVA © vs 'The Dread Pirate' HUGH DE ASKE

It is going to be a truly international affair in the main event of the Brave and the Bold as we present to you the rematch you keep asking us for. Brazilian-Canadian submission machine Mario Da Silva finally won the big one last October in a match of the year contender when he forced Hugh De Aske to tap out to his yet-to-be-broken kimura lock. While Da Silva will have no intention on allowing his first reign to be ended so soon, he will be very aware that De Aske is never an easy man to beat. The Belgian-born 'Dread Pirate' has been making waves around North America since he first made a splash in ACPW less than three years ago. De Aske won the Junior Heavyweight championship from Grimm Quibble last April but his first and only title reign was cut short by Da Silva. At Brave and the Bold, Hugh will be committed to proving that Da Silva's win was nothing more than a blip and that he is the better wrestler. He knows that a second loss against the champion would place him outside the title picture for the foreseeable future. This is truly a match that neither man can afford to lose and its sure to be a barnburner as a result. You will not want to miss this.

FOUR WAY DANCE - NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP

GRIMM QUIBBLE vs JAYSON VAN PELT vs KENNY CALLAWAY vs MIMIC

Both Da Silva and De Aske will have a keen eye on this semi-main event match up as whoever wins this elimination four way dance will face the winner of the main event for the ACPW Junior Heavyweight title in February. That is a particularly daunting challenge as not one of these four men will be anything close to an easy win. All four of these wrestlers are familiar to ACPW fans as all have held the top belt before but once you have gotten a taste of the top, you can never get enough. This match is sure to be unpredictable, exciting, and intense and much like the main event, it's one you won't want to miss. I am starting to notice a pattern here.

GRAM GORMAN vs 'White Lightning' JAMIE ATHERTON

That's right, we are spoiling you with yet another former Junior Heavyweight Champions showdown. While this one isn't for the belt or for the number one contendership, both athletes will know that they need a win here to stay in hot contention. The brutal Northern Irish fighter Gorman lost his one and only Junior Heavyweight title over three years ago now and following a successful run in the tag division with Grimm Quibble, he now wants to be back on top. Atherton is a former three time champion who doesn't feel he has been given the respect he deserves. Atherton has a good look and charisma to spare, so he doesn't understand why he is not the face of ACPW. Well here is his chance to prove his point but he will have to survive one of the company's most brutal strikers to do it.

ACPW CANADIAN REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

"Hot Stuff" HUDSON DRAKE © vs DEVYN REYNAUD

In a situation which is sure to confuse some of our more 'traditional' fans, this match was booked solely on the two wrestlers' social media. Canadian Regional champion Hudson Drake put out a typically cocky message on his Instagram in which he and his ever-loyal manager Isabella Encanta put out an open challenge to the ACPW roster for the Brave and the Bold as the as-of-yet undefeated Drake knew 'none of you losers can beat me anyway'. The challenge was answered by Devyn Reynaud on his own Instagram as he accused Drake of not facing a real challenge and declared that it was time for him to win some singles gold. The two went back and forth with Drake offering petty insults and Renaud sticking to his claim that he will be the first man to pin Drake when they face off at Brave and the Bold. If all of that social media talk wasn't for you, just know that Drake will be attempting to defend his belt against Reynaud and it's sure to get good.

ACPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS

PRECISION STRIKE (Erin Grey and Spencer Edmund) © vs SKY KING and REGGIE BISHOP

That's right, all the belts will be on the line at the Brave and the Bold. If you're going to be the champion in a new decade, we are going to make sure you earn it. When Precision Strike won the tag titles in October, Erin Grey became the first woman to hold a belt in ACPW. To reduce the duo to that one small statistic would be unfair however as Precision Strike are one of the most promising young tag teams on the scene today. Their opponents, however, would love nothing more than to make the title reign nothing more than a footnote in ACPW history. Bitter veteran Sky King and his occasional tag team partner and overall loyal lacky Reggie Bishop have held the tag titles once more and would love to do it again. The only thing Sky King would want more is to knock a couple of young upstarts down a peg. This is Youth vs Experience, Young vs Old (Sorry Reg.) It's sure to be Precision Strike's biggest challenge yet. Can they overcome it?

DAGGER vs 'The Violent Violet' SIMONY SENTINAL

Ever since she became the first female wrestler to join the ACPW roster, Simony Sentinel has impressed fans and critics alike with her high flying ability and has picked up some noteworthy wins along the way. At Brave and the Bold, however, Sentinel faces her biggest challenge yet as she goes up against Dagger. Dagger is a multi-time tag team and Canadian Regional champion who has been with the company since the beginning and will no doubt be eyeing up a route to the Junior Heavyweight title. In a first meeting between these two athletes, both will be hoping to catapult themselves to the top of the card.

I wanted to start an ACPW game once upon a time only to find that they didn't allow girls. Good to see that they've integrated LOL good luck with this one, I like the format thus far <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<strong>ALL CANADA PRO WRESTLING</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-size:12px;">BRAVE AND THE BOLD</span></span></strong></p><p>

REPORTED LIVE FROM CONCORDIA HALL, MONTREAL</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I arrived at Concordia Hall an hour before the pre-show and the place was already packed. ACPW have been selling out this old venue for a while now but any suggestions that they should move to somewhere bigger is often ignored by owner Daedalus Buchinsky. He clearly believes that ACPW has a developed a venue since moving to Quebec and it's hard to deny that the place has a special atmosphere at times. Anyway, I arrived early in order to make a note of what ACPW refer to as 'the 'the pre-show' show' and it seems the majority of those with tickets for the main show had the same idea.</p><p> </p><p>

Three out of the four pre-show matches were fairly standard ACPW pre-show matches. Things kicked off with Maria Guest pinning Captain Canada in under five minutes. That was followed by Marcel LeFleur pinning Rocco Renoir in a similar time frame. The third match was given slightly longer as former ACPW Tag Team champion Topher Smith pinned Virgil Voss. Smith won of course and Voss still looked a long way off the main card but wrestling against the experienced Topher helped him show that he is certainly capable of some decent wrestling. </p><p> </p><p>

The main event of the pre-show is usually not something worth writing about but this was a surprise. The match saw the ACPW debut of 'Psyche Out' Remmy Skye as he unsuccessfully challenged ACPW regular and recent OLLIE signee, Kamikaze. The local crowd were largely unaware of who Skye is but fans of the American independent scene will know him as a former regular of CZCW, two time CZCW champion and multicoloured hair daredevil. Skye has fallen on tough times recently due to reported issues to drugs which have lead to him being unable to find work on the American independent scene. Here he was though at Concordia Hall, losing on the pre-show of an ACPW event. What's the story here? I'm afraid I know nothing more than you, dear reader, but I hope we find out soon. The match itself was good as you would expect and Skye looked really good in defeat. If anything, Kamikaze didn't look as good as he is capable off.</p><p> </p><p>

With that surprise out of the way, the show began with owner Daedalus Buchinsky making a surprise in-ring appearance. Following an appreciative applause by the packed Concordia Hall, Buchinsky began reading off a piece of paper as he thanked the fans for their loyalty to his unique wrestling promotion. Daedalus is not really a talker but the sentiment was nice!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANT-MAN vs ZACKARY INC</strong></p><p>

Wow, the ACPW fans do not like Zackary Inc. I don't mean that Zackary is a particularly good heel or anything, these fans absolutely do not want to see this man in an ACPW ring at all. The worst part is that I can't exactly blame them. This match against fan favourite Ant-Man barely reached five minutes, making it shorter than any match on the preshow, and Zackary was already beginning to look gassed by the time Ant-Man pinned him. I'm not sure what the plan is with Zackary Inc moving forward but I wouldn't be surprised to hear ACPW and him go their separate ways. Ant-Man prevented this match from being a complete as the crowd were hyped to see him and wrestling a relatively large lightweight like Zackary Inc enabled Ant-Man to show off his impressive lifting power. Ant-Man won in 5:08 with the Antidote pop-up powerbomb finisher. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>AMERICANA JR. vs ERIC BLACKLEY</strong></p><p>

That first match was immediately followed by this contest between two of ACPW's most recent main roster talents. Americana Jr. was of course met with a few boos on the way to the ring but these were more for his American flag mask and attire rather than a lack of talent. In fact, these two are clearly very talented and clicked in-ring almost immediately. The two fought a good match which Eric Blackley ultimately won on 8:02 with the flying vertical press he has been winning matches with during his time in ACPW. While this was a good match and the fans were beginning to get into it, it was far too short for two talents who are clearly able to put together a fantastic match together. This is the first real casualty of ACPW attempting to fit so many matches into not enough time. Still, a promising match and hopefully we will get to see these two wrestle for much longer in the future.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>DAGGER vs SIMONY SENTINEL</strong></p><p>

I remember when ACPW announced that women were going to join the roster as equals to the male wrestlers and there was a small vocal minority which was very opposed to the move. One of the reasons they liked to give was that women wrestlers were simply unable to wrestle as well as the men. Then ACPW announced its first women wrestler signing was Simony Sentinel. Then she wrestled. Now you don't tend to hear from that crowd anymore. Sentinel is one of the best young technical high-fliers in the company and she is clearly on the slow track to the top which ACPW likes to give its young talents. I'm not necessarily saying that she is the next Mario Da Silva but, well, keep an eye out. Here she faced her biggest challenge yet in former multi-time Canadian Regional and Tag Team champion, Dagger. At under 8 minutes, this is another match which suffered from the packed card but the wrestling was great and the fans were engaged. Dagger won a very open match with the Dagger Kick, a running kick to the face in the corner. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">ACPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS</span></strong></p><p><strong>

PRECISION STRIKE vs SKY KING and REGGIE BISHOP</strong></p><p>

The tag team titles were up next as the champions Precision Strike of Erin Grey and Spencer Edmund put the belts up against the veteran former champs of Sky King and Reggie Bishop. It's an open secret at this point that 40 year old Sky King is transitioning into a road agent role and so the winners of this match was no surprise as the champions retained. Grey and Edmund are clearly not at the level of the more experienced wrestlers on the card yet and so matches against ACPW veterans such as King and Bishop will likely do them wonders. The surprise package of this match was actually 27 year old Reggie Bishop. Ever the safe hand, Bishop's offence looked great and his selling made Grey and Edmund look fantastic. A decent match which Precision Strike won in 9:53 when Edmund forced Bishop to tap out to a elevated Boston crab. The best match of the main show so far but both this match and the pre-show main event were about to be blown out of the water...</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAM GORMAN vs JAMIE ATHERTON</strong></p><p>

Okay, so this match absolutely needed more time. With that said, however, these two turned used that for their advantage as this one was nonstop hard hitting action. Which typically goes without saying when the Belfast born Gorman is involved. The story which ran through this match was that these two were both hitting each other hard and getting frustrated when the other would kick out at one. The match lasted 11:48 and ended when Gorman hit a stiff back elbow which brought the entire 300 attendance to their feet. Honestly, Gorman is an absolute machine and if anybody in the wrestling industry hits harder than him, they're just straight up boxing. It was clear that these two have fantastic chemistry in the ring and I can only hope that whatever storyline they're using Atherton in going forward (as you'll see in a moment,) it results in more matches between these two. Preferably at least twice as long. The hard-hitting 5'7 Northern Irishman must be in the title picture after this. Sign me up for some Gorman vs Da Silva sometime!</p><p> </p><p>

After Gorman had left and intermission had been announced over the P.A, Atherton made a big show about being upset about his loss. He kicked the turnbuckles, he kicked the ropes, he kicked the ring barrier. Fans that engaged Atherton in his tantrum were rewarded with 'White Lightning' shouting in their face about how he's better than this and it's 'all unfair'. Whatever that means. Knowing the ACPW faithful, they probably loved that. </p><p> </p><p>

With Atherton finally gone, announcer Tony Marsh grabbed a microphone and informed the crowd that it was intermission and suggested that everybody head to the bar and get a couple of pints of Molson Canadian. Are they sponsored or is Marsh just a fan? Either way, I stuck to the water like a true professional. You're welcome.</p><p> </p><p>

Intermission ended after half an hour and the show resumed with the ACPW Canadian Regional champion 'Hot Stuff' Hudson Drake and his manager Isabella Encanta. This duo has been together since the dying days of 4C and its no surprise as they have a clear chemistry as a duo. Both took a microphone and ran down the crowd as they so often do. The arrogant yuppie gimmick is a simple one but it never fails to get a reaction, even from the 'smart marks' in Montreal. Drake bemoans the lack of real competition for his title and requests that after he 'for sure' beats Devyn Reynaud tonight, that management allows him to face a proper opponent next time. This of course brings out Reynaud and it's time for the second title match of the evening.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">ACPW CANADIAN REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP</span></strong></p><p><strong>

HUDSON DRAKE vs DEVYN REYNAUD</strong></p><p>

The in-ring action during this match was a genuine surprise to me. Sometimes its easy to forget that beyond Drake's character work, he is a fantastic high-flier with plenty of potential. Similarly, it's easy to forget Reynaud amongst the talent in the ACPW roster but he is still a very capable aerial athlete and it showed here. Drake picked up the win in 11:58 with the Hudson Hawk, a high-angle senton bomb presumably named after a Bruce Willis flop which came out before Drake was born. Anyway, the action here was fantastic and Drake's chemistry with his manager Encanta is very clear. The only issue with this match was that the crowd didn't get as engaged as one might expect. Perhaps this was because it failed to compare to the first half main event or maybe it is because the crowd just has no reason to get behind Reynaud. As talented as he may be in the ring, he's still quite forgettable and another solid hand on the ACPW roster. He certainly isn't popular enough to have been a threat for Drake here. Much like the tag team match, this just served as a way to continue the title reigns and further push the younger talents who hold the belts. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRIMM QUIBBLE vs JAYSON VAN PELT vs KENNY CALLAWAY vs MIMIC</strong></p><p>

This four way dance was a much anticipated number one contendership match but it ended up being the biggest victim of time constraints during the night. Four former Junior Heavyweight champions and four of the most talented wrestlers on the roster were only given 15:17 to showcase their skills. I suspect this was partially due to mismanagement on some earlier matches that caused them to overrun as this match was originally supposed to be an elimination contest but was instead converted to a first fall wins match during the entrances. Nobody really shone in this match but that was primarily due to the fact that all four athletes looked good. One down note was that Mimic picked up a leg injury near the end and spent a solid few minutes laying on the outside, being treated by medical staff. The other three managed to improvise around this fine though and Kenny Callaway managed to pick up the victory by pinning Van Pelt. I absolutely recommend finding this match online if you can as the wrestling was exceptional but once again I find myself requesting this match again in future with an extra ten minutes added on. Callaway will now go on to face the winner of the main event in February for the title and whoever wins, its sure to be another great match. But ACPW, give it time!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">ACPW JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP</span></strong></p><p><strong>

MARIO DA SILVA vs HUGH DE ASKE</strong></p><p>

When these two faced off in October 2019, it was one of the matches of the year for ACPW and once again these two put together a quality match. The crowd were absolutely behind this one as Da Silva continues to ride a wave of momentum amongst the ACPW crowd. The story of this match was a rather simple one. Da Silva managed to beat De Aske in October when he caught him by surprise in the kimura lock. This time, De Aske was well aware of this threat and spent the twenty minute match time doing everything he could to avoid getting caught in the kimura lock. These attempts were ultimately futile as De Aske saw a chance to hit a lariat but Da Silva caught his arm and locked in the kimura before the 'Dread Pirate' knew what was happening. That was the moment that the crowd made the most noise they hade made all night as the whole crowd were up on there feet and cheering. They knew the kimura meant game over for Hugh and he tapped almost instantly. While there was perhaps better wrestling in the main event, this is tied with Gorman/Atherton for match of the night as it was given more time and the crowd were hooked on every move. Da Silva's title reign continues and next he will be facing Kenny Callaway. It's sure to be a tough challenge for the champion but, more importantly, it's sure to be an excellent match and I'll make sure that I'm there, reporting every move for wrestlereviews.com. </p><p> </p><p>

Thanks for reading!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Welp. Reading this made me realise I had double booked Kamikaze. I've switched him for Reggie in the match against Simony but since you predicted Simony anyway, that likely won't be an issue for your predictions ha. Thanks to you and everybody else who has commented so far anyway, helps very much with motivation... and apparently noticing booking errors.
