You use the matches to tell your stories, they're the King of Sports. So the focus should be on successes and failures inside the ropes not outside them. Belts mean something, history is everything, wins and losses matter. NJPW's setup, Wrestle Kingdom into Best of Super Juniors into G-1 into New Japan Cup into Tag League with shows mixed between makes this very easy. Just booking multi-man matches & the occasional in-ring challenge from someone who wins a multi-man match or post match challenges from people not in the match.
