Tamura Beats Kajahara to Claim BBW World Warrior Title

SENDAI, Japan – Since winning the BBW World Warrior title in July, Ryu Kajahara has been on an absolute tear. With his trademark combination of insanity and creativity, he’s spent the better part of 1996 running through the biggest and most violent men that Big Battle Wrestling can offer in a series of bizarre and increasingly brutal matches.

Similar can be said for the promotion’s founder, Natsuhisa Tamura. Despite losing the inaugural Blood Bowl (and the right to call himself champion) to the psychotic German, Lamprecht the Lunatic, Tamura had a series of strong performances against the likes of international heavy hitters Big Trouble, the "Icon of Insanity" Henry Lee, and "The Arizona Assassin" Genghis Rahn, earning him the right to step up to Kajahara in December at The Time to Kill is Now.

And while it may have taken nearly a full year for the No Limits Extremist to meet the King of Deathmatches face-to-face in a Big Battle ring when they did it was a clash that shook the company to its very core.

Kajahara pulled out all the stops, including his trusty barbed wire baseball bat and the Kajahara Claw, in an attempt to keep the legend of violence down, but in the end it just wasn’t enough as Tamura hit his Murder Bomb finisher and finally hoisted the World Warrior Title above his head.

Now, all eyes look to the future. With the one year anniversary of Big Battle Wrestling less than a month away, Tamura promises that 1997 will be full of bigger, better, more destructive matches than 1996. Not just from himself and the Deathmatch Division but from the increasingly exciting BBW Junior Heavyweight division as well. With a rash of signings prepared to make their debut on the upcoming Anniversary Show in January and the Blood Bowl Tour in February, things are looking up for Big Battle Wrestling.

First off, thank you to everyone who is reading this! It means the world to me that you've even made it this far and I hope you keep reading as this gets updated. I'm aiming to do at least one tour a week but, as I'm sure we all know, life sometimes gets in the way. Especially in 2020.

Second, thank you to Derek B for the 1997 C-Verse Mod, it's fantastic work as it is in every iteration and I have been having a blast playing around in Japan.

Finally, for a bit of housekeeping. While I have done some short real world diaries on other forums in the past, mainly over on /r/fantasybookers, this is my first attempt at a diary on this forum as well as my first attempt at a C-Verse diary. While I am very familiar with Japanese wrestling, especially Japanese wrestling in the 90s, I am not overly familiar with Deathmatch wrestling so this diary is something new and different for me. With that in mind, hopefully you'll forgive me if sometimes I book things which seem off. I'm still learning how to book these kinds of promotions. Next up...a look at the roster!

Natsuhisa Tamura

When Natsuhisa Tamura founded Big Battle Wrestling at the beginning of 1996, most people assumed it was only natural that he'd become the first champion. Those people would be proven wrong when, at BBW's Blood Bowl Tamura was pinned by Lamprecht the Lunatic in the titular match. Despite trying his best to regain the title from Lamprecht, the monstrous European brawler was able to fend off Tamura's challenges. Instead, Lamprecht would drop the belt to the "No Limits Extremist" Ryu Kajahara in July at BBW's Vulgar Existence show. It would take almost a full year for Tamura to gain the title, defeating Kajahara with a Murder Bomb at The Time To Kill Is Now.

PLATINUM & SILVER

PLATINIM Takamatsu & SILVER Ishihara

The focal point of a surprisingly strong tag team division, the BBW Dynasty Warriors Title is currently held by the stylish team of PLATINUM & SILVER, PLATINUM Takamatsu & SILVER Ishihara. The haughty high flying duo have managed a couple solid defenses, with their gimmick of refusing to work deathmatches serving the double purpose of getting heat with the bloodthirsty BBW crowd and also giving them an advantage in a division full of psychopaths who don't feel at home without a weapon in their hand.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 3px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #d2d3d4; max-width:60%;box-shadow: 0 1px 2px " ;"=""><img alt="ldgZvSg.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ldgZvSg.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<img alt="80J93sV.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/80J93sV.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Lamprecht the Lunatic

Initially conceived as a means to crown the first ever BBW World Warrior Champion, The Blood Bowl is now fought for every February on the final stop of the BBW Blood Bowl Tour in a six-man elimination deathmatch between the six most violent men that Big Battle Wrestling has to offer. This year, rather than competing for the World Warrior Championship itself, the winner of the Blood Bowl will earn a match with the opponent of his choosing.

[bBW World Warrior Championship] Barbed Wire Deathmatch: Natsuhisa Tamura © vs. Lamprecht the Lunatic

Natsuhisa Tamura had barely raised the title over his head before he received his first challenge. At the press conference after The Time To Kill is Now the innovator of violence was confronted by Lamprecht the Lunatic, who asserted that because he had beaten Tamura twice before, he was deserving of the first title shot. Tamura said he'd face Lamprecht on the condition that the two meet surrounded by barbed wire. Lamprecht agreed and the match was set for the BBW First Anniversary Show.

Ryu Kajahara vs. Big Trouble

He's Big. He's Trouble. He's....in a little over his head. Mr. Miwa was running his mouth again on behalf of his client, Big Trouble, claiming that the massive gaijin could take anyone Japan had to offer him when the monstrous Chicagoan was challenged by an angry, title-less Ryu Kajahara.

Henry Lee vs. Bootan Onishi

"The Icon of Insanity" Henry Lee may have bitten off more than he could chew when he disrespected Bootan Onishi. The off-beat Junior Heavyweight returned with a new Gashadokuro personality, ready to prove to Lee that it takes more than being able to dish out violence to succeed in BBW. Although it is a start...

[bBW Dynasty Warriors Title]: PLATINUM & SILVER © vs. The Blood Pack

PLATINUM & SILVER have managed to carve out a niche for themselves in the Big Battle Tag Division by standing out from the crowd. The pretty-boys' anti-deathmatch stance may be rooted more in vanity than actual anti-hardcore principles, but the effect is substantial nonetheless. By keeping the rough and tumble brawlers of Big Battle out of their element they've managed to not only secure the titles but defend them successfully. They're hoping that luck continues with the Blood Pack, but Gargoyle's been around long enough to use his fists as well as any weapon, and Bloody Takai's been working with the old-fashioned grapplers in GCG. So they might surprise them...

Genghis Rahn vs. Taka Hoshizawa

The Silence vs. Nukenin
