Promotion name change when rising in size

Regional named promotions throughout history have changed their name to not be pigeon holed as a regional promotion.

Not sure if this is entirely possible, but for example, Mid South changed their name to Universal Wrestling Federation to avoid the stigma of being a southern promotion

That would be cool. Could be tied to the  owner's personality. Maybe you have someone in say... Texas who would gladly take over the industry and keep the Texas name (and titles) to then claim that Texas is the center of the wrestling universe. But someone else would want to upgrade (maybe from Windy City Wrestling to World Championship Wrestling).

Altough they would use other name than World Championship Wrestling, maybe Worldwide Championship Wrestling or something similar.

Anyway, i love this suggestion as well, who knows what names would have gotten promotions like Central States Wrestling. Altough it would be always applied to location-based promotions (when Eastern Championship Wrestling did become Extreme Championship Wrestling, it was still small).

Also, if the user wants it, it should be applied due to the type of product is offering as well.

I think this would need to pair with an additional feature where the game would understand the company has a regional name. Some promotions even when they’re small don’t have regional names and therefore wouldn’t need changing.

Maybe this could also need two precisions in the editor: one would be "is eligible for" so that we can decide when setting up a mod whether we want that company to be able to change its name at any point, or whether we want it to keep it forever regardless of the circumstances, and one "will keep the same initials" so that you can decide whether the game will need to generate a new name with those initials (so if for instance you had a fictional company called Wisconsin Wrestling Pro, it'll know that it needs to go more for "World Wrestling Pro" and not "International Wrestling Pro").

Perhaps also the ability to set a list of potential names the game will pick from, and have some names only be able to be used by one company ? So you could avoid a company having a name that doesn't fit it at all, or simply so that companies that, in real life, had multiple names depending on the owner, etc can pick from a list of names they actually used, but also so you could avoid a company suddenly using initials and preventing another company to open because of that.

Just have a expanded "Company Name" button, where you can set the name for the promotion at different sizes.

For example:

Insignificant: "Mid-West Regional Wrestling" / "MWRW"

Tiny:

Small: "Mid-West Championship Wrestling" / "MWCW"

Medium: "Global Championship Wrestling" / "GCW"

Big: 

Very Big: 

 

With the empty boxes resulting in no-name change taking place.

This is a good idea. 
 

I think this would be the easiest way to implement the change.
