“Welcome to the first episode of WCW Saturday Night!* We are heading to Starrcade 1988 “The True Gritt” where the outcome of the almost 1-year rivalry between WCW babyface and ex-Horsemen, Lex Luger and the world champion of the NWA Ric Flair! But first… we are just a few days away from Clash of Champions IV “Season’s Beatings” where we will see the final of the US Tag Team Titles Tournament”

**COLD OPEN:** 66

A bone-chilling recap of The Road Warriors' recent triumph over The Midnight Express in New Orleans unfolds. The merciless assault leaves Bobby Eaton battered and broken, setting the stage for a night of retribution. The Road Warriors won the NWA Tag Team Titles!

**1. RON SIMMONS VS. BUTCH MILLER** 67

Ron Simmons in his television debut and WCW Saturday Night debut. Simmons dominates the fight with power moments untilLuke Williams, Butch Miller's partner, interferes, causing a DQ. The Fantastics, amidst their rivalry with the Sheepherders, rush to Simmons' aid. A violent battle develops between the Sheepherders and The Fantastics. Both couples will be in the tournament for the vacant US Tag Team Titles.

**WINNER:** RON SIMMONS by DQ

*THE ROAD WARRIORS PROMO:* 78

The Road Warriors express their dislike for carrying novices like Sting and Lex Luger. They criticize Dusty Rhodes for his absence from their last match for attending fan meetings. They are tired of how unprofessional Dusty Rhodes is and if it were up to them they would vacate the 6-Man Tag Team Titles, (The current champions are Dusty Rhodes, Hawk & Animal) and they would be focusing solely on the NWA World Tag Team Titles.

**4. THE FANTASTICS (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) VS. BOBBY JAGGERS & DOUG VINES** 58

The Fantastics' lightning-quick triumph is interrupted by the Sheepherders' cowardly attack. Chaos ensues as The Fantastics promise to reclaim the US Tag Team Titles.

Eddie Gilbert's fiery victory over Mike Jackson.

Dusty Rhodes addresses The Road Warriors with fervor, rallying the WCW troops against their common foes. Rhodes talks good about Sting and Lex Luger.

**6. ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER VS. DAVID ISLEY** 28

Abdullah the Butcher's menacing presence casts a shadow over the ring as he mercilessly dismantles David Isley. Gary Hart introduces Abdullah as is new client, a destructive force, sending shivers through the audience.

Lex Luger, the defiant powerhouse, challenges Flair's, setting the stage for a power struggle within WCW. Claiming that Ric Flair has not authority to deal in that way with Turner Executives.

**8. TV TITLE MATCH: MIKE ROTUNDA (C) VS. RUFUS R. JONES** 52

Mike Rotunda's technical wrestling shines in a convincing win.

*KEVI SULLIVAN'S PROMO:*39

Tony Schiavone interviews The Varsity Club (Kevin Sullivan, Mike Rotunda & Rick Steiner) Rotund notices the Steiner is not wearing is NWA Florida Title. Kevin Sullivan,is the cunning strategist, issues a warning to Rick Steiner, about forgetting is Florida Title. Steiner leaves ashamed. Sullivan says to Schiavone that he is thinking to replace Steiner if he is not at Varsity Club level.,

**9. STAN LANE VS. ROAD WARRIOR ANIMAL** 79

The battle between Stan Lane and Road Warrior Animal descends into chaos…

*PAUL E. DANGEROUSLY AND THE ORIGINAL MIDNIGHT EXPRESS APPEARS:* 65

Amidst the chaos, the mysterious phone call disrupts the broadcast, leaving unanswered questions and a foreboding sense of intrigue. Jim Cornette discuss by phone with a mysterious man, apparently they know each other. Cornette hangs up the phone. Suddenly Paul E. Dangerously and The Original Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Randy Rose) appears. The Original Midnight Express's assault paints a chaotic tableau. Jim Cornette is hitten by Paul’s big Cellphone, Cornette is bleeding and the Midnights (Lane and Eaton) are left unconscious. The screen fades to black, promising a turbulent future for WCW.

**WINNER:** STAN LANE By DQ

Nice work on the first show. My knowledge of wcw is mostly based around the monday night wars and most of the stuff I know prior to that is stuff I read on the web so this'll be an interesting read. Do you mind if we ask questions like is Jim herd still gonna be the head booker or whatever this time around?
