TCP1
In my time off from mod-making I've decided to learn how to use Poser software. I've bought Poser 6 and I've began creating an American footballer (Who I eventually plan to have running. :) I've picked up the rendering aspect and the changes in facial features. However, I seem incapable of actually giving my character (Bret Levante) any hair. I go to the hair section and change the length etc but when I render nothing happens. Could any of the poser specialists please give me some advice on how to do it, or at least point me in the right direction for a decent Poser 6 tutorial or download centre. Thanks in advance. JWideman
Hair in Poser 6 is dynamic. It takes a lot of practice to make decent hair using the hair room, and lots of time even for the skilled users. I suggest getting free hair models from http://renderosity.com/ and http://digitalbabes2.com/

I don't know the actual process behind it. What do I do?
sebsplex
Also, some artists do post work on hair in programs like photoshop... I haven't used poser for a couple of years or so now, but I used to use a smudge tool to give the hair a bit more of a genuine look around the edges. Should note that this was with Poser 4, I've no idea what Poser 6 now entails.
JWideman
Well, you don't use the hair room. Click on the hair tab and you should be able to find hair there. If it doesn't suit your needs, go to those sites find one that does.

I go to the hair tab and change all the little dials and what not and when I click render, no hair appears, it's really annoying! If someone could just run a step-by-step tutorial of how to actually 'give' my guy hair that would be awesome!
JWideman
You're still trying to use dynamic hair. I'm telling you not to do that, since it's rather hard. But if you insist: http://www.perpetualvisions.com/articles-and-graphics/tutorial-poser5-hair2.htm Poser 5 and Poser 6 hair work the same way. The much easier way is to go to the hair tab NOT the hair room. The hair tab is with the figure, pose, prop, etc. tab.

I don't know where the 'tabs' are? Like teaching a monkey how to write Shakespeare!
JWideman
How the hell did you load a figure?!? The tabs are on the right side of the screen. They might be hidden, but there's a little tab you click on and they pop out.

I've been trying to find a screenshot for you because I no longer have Poser on my computer. (Only ever had the demo.) You might have to resort to reading the manual.

jonlawson
You know, I did a search for Poser and way too many Poser-made porn sites popped up,...I'm offended!! :p

And the vast majority of them suck. It goes without saying that the stuff that doesn't suck usually isn't porn.
