I've always wanted to properly do a Dynasty, and considering I'm already deep into this save and it has had some fun moments and stories within it I felt like it would be fun to share it with people

January 3rd, 1992

Last day before the big Tokyo Dome show and plans have been finalized for everything. We currently have quite a few WCW talents on loan for the big show which is always exciting to do a crossover.

We also managed to bring in two new Gajin Tag Teams to boost our tag team division which is, to put it light lightly, wafer thin.

From Britain we have bought in “Lord” Steven Regal and David Taylor, two technical wrestlers trained by Marty Jones, who impressed me when I met him during his NJPW tour about a decade ago.

From Canada, on the recommendation of Bad News Allen we have bought in Chris Jericho and Lance Storm who he has worked with on the Canadian Independent Scene. Allen has also said he would be willing to work with the young stars to build them as a Gajin act.

Eddie Guerrero of the legendary Guerrero family has come in as well in an attempt to boost our Junior Heavyweight division

Super Warriors In The Tokyo Dome

Bad News Allen vs Kuniaki Kobayashi

image.jpeg.f349f4f728115d0ede84738ffcca4a01.jpegvsimage.jpeg.a50e849012a912f33c4c62defae93aa4.jpeg

Your Opening Match of the evening in a Sold-Out Tokyo Dome sees one of my own trainees Kuniaki Kobayashi take on Bad News Allen. Kuniaki whilst having moved up to the heavyweight division is still much smaller than Allen. On the other hand however, Kuniaki is over 10 years younger than his larger opponent and is able to use this to his advantage, moving out of the way of a splash into the corner and swiping the legs before running the ropes and hitting a 3 consecutive sliding kicks into the corner, pinning Allen in 5 minutes

50

Post match, Allen is taken down to the back by Young Lions but starts shouting into the microphone that he isn’t finished yet and has a plan to make it back to the top

Akira Nogami vs Koji Kanemoto

image.jpeg.ecbf5ca9b916964c4a64bdf1f904fd91.jpegvsimage.jpeg.8829c4b4ca06aafc38539370bdd58849.jpeg

In a match between two of our most promising Junior Heavyweight, who both could easily win the big title at some point in the next few years Akira Nogami. The match mostly stays technical, and strike based with very little high-flying offence. Nogami stays on the top for most of the match and looks to be setting up for the Growing Up before Kanemoto reverses it into the Koji Clutch. Nogami is able to make it to the ropes before Kanemoto stamps onto Nogami’s back turning him over, climbing up the ropes and hitting his big moonsault for the three count in just under 15 minutes

55

The Rhodes (Dusty & Dustin) vs Kensuke Sasaki & Scott Norton

image.jpeg.4d8b86f36331ddd9b8d1883c240317e0.jpegimage.jpeg.7baa5f96c118f6920edeeac05c078a47.jpegvsimage.jpeg.23b2d631166c1d320aa08ab21ed21762.jpegimage.jpeg.723eb1836335b083ed916a0910c32206.jpeg

Dusty and Dustin coming in from loan from WCW in a match that is planned to be pre-taped to air on one of WCW Syndicated Shows over the next few weeks. Dusty gets in all his major iconic spots but he is past his prime at this point so allows his son to do most of the heavy lifting. For the NJPW representative team Kensuke Sasaki makes a point of barely tagging in Scott Norton only allowing Norton into the ring when he tags himself in. Norton runs wild on the younger Rhodes, before going into the corner to get ready to hit the lariat, only for Sasuke to tag himself back in. Hit a lariat himself and the Northern Lights Bomb for the 3 count in 14:18

Special Singles Match (30 Minute Time Limit)

Masahiro Chono vs Shinya Hashimoto

image.jpeg.3837c28dbf2829be17375375720c08c7.jpegvsimage.jpeg.afecd7d1ea12dcecc3076518f94cbe6d.jpeg

Two of the brightest young stars in the company, two of the trio of Dojo graduates refered to as the Three Musketeers go head-to-head. The match starts a lot slower than the previous matches which straight away gives the audience the impression that this would go longer. Some of the big spots include Chono hitting a Yakuza kick only for Hashimoto being too close to the ropes and able to grab them. A Vertical Drop Brainbreaker onto Chono which Hashimoto isn’t able to make it back to his feet quick enough to get a cover allowing Chono to kick out. The finish comes when Chono takes Hashimoto up to the top rope looking to hit a big backdrop which Hashimoto counters with a solid elbow strike which knocks Chono out. But just as Hashimoto is about to make the cover the 30 Minute time limit runs out causing a draw.

Bam Bam Bigelow & Vader vs Chris Jericho & Lance Storm

image.jpeg.75eee9ea5f8b5efdda6479bad3475a3c.jpegimage.jpeg.40db49b2c8ef2c734a774070636545ed.jpegvsimage.jpeg.d66b92b081b3e492adf916da7fb2720f.jpegimage.jpeg.f928938301c9261539439fcaa99135cf.jpeg

Big vs Small once again as the team of Bam Bam Bigelow and Big Van Vader takes on new signings Chris Jericho and Lance Storm- as part of our negotiations with WCWA to bring the youngsters in we were able to build an angle on their TV with Bigelow who also works for that company getting into fights with Bad News Allen, who Jericho and Storm came out to save causing Jericho to challenge Bigelow to find a partner to face them. Vader came out at the press conference to become Bigelow’s partner naming their team Big, Bad and Dangerous.

In the end it is the size which comes through as Vader and Bigelow hit a consecutive moonsault and Vader Bomb onto Storm, flattening him into the mat in just 7 minutes

Dragon Bombers (Black Cat, El Samurai & Takashi Iizuka) vs Raging Staff (Hiro Saito, Super Strong Machine & Tatsutoshi Goto)

image.jpeg.815dd4db229facc82505e40c12ffaf4b.jpegimage.jpeg.7d2914a23884bf6744f2e8cf6a84a088.jpegimage.jpeg.2a21700f2498b64317ad63a3a36be6f0.jpegvsimage.jpeg.c13a8de76e19682dabb345f2d1ee7269.jpegimage.jpeg.f4b54d1a71ef1d43aca79e9f7ad20025.jpegimage.jpeg.43f293009e3ea270c60cf2199e086559.jpeg

Six Man action in suplimentary action to the Junior Heavyweight Championship match later tonight as Jushin Thunder Liger’s faction-mates Black Cat, El Samurai and Takashi Iizuka takes on Noria Honaga’s Raging Staff faction-mates, Hiro Saito, Super Strong Machine & Tatsutoshi Goto.

Liger’s team picks up the win when El Samurai hits a tope suicida to take out Goto, Takashi Iizuka locks Super Strong Machine into a sleeper hold leaving Black Cat to hit a German Suplex on Hiro Saito for the three count in 8 minutes

IWGP Tag Team Championships (60 Minute Time Limit)

 image.jpeg.8b9c096d376f592380225a9c5291fbac.jpeg

Keiji Mutoh & Hiroshi Hase (C) vs David Taylor & Steven Regal

image.jpeg.03fe62bd9ffffa6b4376ef838fd22b55.jpegimage.jpeg.589d25ee36c774925a63d976582cfad9.jpegvsimage.jpeg.85a4a3e5ea946643cecc45f09937e50f.jpegimage.jpeg.c7b07d7a8253b50d1f670750834b2d92.jpeg

Tag Team Championships on the line as Keiji Mutoh and Hiroshi Hase take on the British team of David Taylor and the “Lord” Steven Regal. The match was set up during the press conference on the 3rd of January where Keiji Mutoh remarked that over their numerous defences they had already beaten most of the legitimate teams in NJPW, as I mentioned in my previous journal entry earlier that day, I had made my acquisitions to boost that exact division. So out came The Blue Bloods to issue the challenge to get onto the Tokyo Dome Show. The British style merges brilliantly with the striking of Mutoh and Hase as both teams get their licks into each other. Even the British guys start getting stiffer with their strikes matching the intensity of the match. In the end Hiroshi Hase hits a Dragon Suplex onto David Taylor allowing Keiji Mutoh to hit the moonsault for the 3 count after a 20 minute showcase

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship (60 Minute Time Limit)

Junior Heavyweight championship on the line as Noria Honaga and Jushin Thunder Liger show off the best of The Junior Division in NJPW, a division that we have a major lead over our main rivals AJPW. Honaga and Liger go full out from the start with Liger attempting to keep the speed high and Honaga attempting to ground the masked superstar with counter-based wrestling. Jushin Liger however hits a big jumping spin kick to Noria’s gut, hoisting him up for brainbuster, leaps up onto the turnbuckle to hit his iconic shooting star press to win in just over 12 minutes

Special Tag Team Match (60 Minute Time Limit)

Antonio Inoki & Sting vs The Steiner Brothers

image.jpeg.e7abd82b9241a2e574bf007201ae3c6f.jpegimage.jpeg.9ca9fd34a8c77a1b66a1e01d4468a1e2.jpegvsimage.jpeg.b337385fd1813242cc4b18324de26e3d.jpegimage.jpeg.063a7142500c2cfb7023966324057081.jpeg

In our second match taped for WCW Syndication Television, NJPW founder Antonio Inoki teams with the face of WCW Sting to take on a team with experience on both sides of the pond, The Steiner Brothers

In a competitive match between the three American workers, Inoki working a limited style due to his advanced age, we see some big moves with Scott Steiner busting out a frankensteiner, Sting going for a dive off the apron to the ring side area. But the climax of the match comes when The Steiners are working over Sting to build to an Inoki hot tag. Inoki comes in and runs wild for a few minutes with strikes and throws. Eventually hitting the Enziguri onto Rick Steiner for the victory in 22 minutes

MAIN EVENT- Unification Match

IWGP Heavyweight & Greatest 18 Club Championships

image.jpeg.892c02412653fb4a7b00a38be52d38ff.jpeg

Tatsumi Fujinami (IWGP) vs Riki Choshu (G18)

The MAIN EVENT of the evening in a title unification match between IWGP Heavyweight Champion “The Dragon of The Flame” Tatsumi Fujinami of The Dragon Bombers and Greatest 18 Champion “The Revolution Warrior” Riki Choshu of the Main Unit

The two champions go back and forth in a traditional early nineties style main event, build heavily on technical attributes and strikes rather than the death defying suplexes that our rivals over in AJPW would be using. Also as this was one of the biggest shows we could put on, it meant that Choshu was actually not being as lazy as we know he can be. Although in traditional Choshu fashion he attempted to get the scorpion lock on but wasn’t able to do it fully so he ended up just hitting the lariat for the victory in 21 minutes
