ROH:The Era of SEX

ROH:The Era of SEX For 2 months, since the beginning of May their were rumors swirling around the wrestling world as you probably know, either from this message board or another including ROH's very own message boards. Beginning July 1st 2006, the independent wrestling promotion who dared to be different was becoming the same. The rumored head booker was none other then the infamous Vince Russo. On July 1st, the rumors weren't rumors any more, Vince Russo, was named head booker of Ring Of Honor Wrestling. Most of the Ring Of Honor faithful gave up on the promotion, damning it as soon as they found the news. They said they would never watch ROH again, but Vince Russo knew better. He knew that most of the fans who said they would never watch ROH again are the same people who say they would never watch the WWE again, yet they do. Week in and week out, they watch. Vince knew the product would be bashed by these fans but that deep down, wrestling fans are just that wrestling fans. Ring Of Honor welcomed the fans to say what they want but the feeling was that while keeping some of the fans from the old ROH, mixed with the tons of fans who love sports entertainment Ring Of Honor would thrive. But the first goal is to regain the fans who love the wrestling action that was ROH. The question is would the fans give Vince Russo a chance? Will you? For those of you who don’t know, SEX isn’t about intercourse, it isn’t about a stripper coming on stage and dancing for the fans. No, SEX simply stands for Sports Entertainment Xtreme. What Russo things about the roster: We have many great wrestlers and the future looks bright for ROH, we have too many refeeres though and that maybe taken care of before our first show. Very few big names will be brought into ROH but there is one that I have in mind, possibly two. Look for some more lower card guys to join the ROH team. We also need some road agents, as we currently have none.

SIZE=7]WrestlingWresling.com - you’re place for all your wrestling needs News from the morning of Tuesday, Week 1 ROH News - There has been a mixed reaction from the locker room since the change from a pure wrestling environment to a sports entertainment style with the hiring of Vince Russo. Many wrestlers including Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, and Jack Evans have spoken up against the change and have threatened to fight Vince Russo and every wrestler who sides with Russo, and his SEX philosophy. Only time will tell what will happen between the divided lock room of Ring Of Honor. - Ring of Honor has reached an agreement with All Japan Pro Wrestling to have a non aggressive pact, that means that no wrestlers from ROH will appear at an AJPW wrestling event, and no AJPW workers will appear at an ROH event. Wrestlers already on the rosters will stay on both rosters. - The Mexican promotion AAA have rejected ROH’s pact of having a working agreement which would allow a free flow of talent between the two.
