The news became offical in a press conference earlier this morning when Hallman announced that his gaming company, Conquest Studios, had expanded beyond video games after massive profits from last year. Plans are to have a Tough Enough clone where the readers get to make somebody only using a certain amount of points and compete with other readers to get a WWR development deal. I also plan to run a Cyber Sunday like event where the readers will vote for certain things. To start out in the interactivity, which logo should be used as the offical logo? (SEE MORE INSIDE) or something of that nature, but they would only take you to another wrestling insider site and so one and so forth. Basicly they'd lie to you to get you to visit their site. I decided, hey I'm going for the wrestling insider feel, why not add that fun element in? They go to those sites becuase I love the Chili Peppers and I play popomundo. Highlights of the night's conference were that WWR has officaly made a deal to put their brand new TV show, Midnight Madness!, the name came as a second resort according to insiders as original plans had it as Midnight Mayhem! The WWE however threatened to file a lawsuit due to WCW's old show Mayhem!. Hallman also announced that his gaming company, Conquest Studios, will no longer be making the popular series Wrestling Universe, but instead are going to start creating a wrestling game called WWR: Rough Start (Working Title). More details will be announced at a later date. Release is scheduled for this December. The thing that was on everyone's mind was, are these people gonna have enough workers, or starpower to do anything big? Tiers Thoughts: I really think that this promotion has just enough star power to get buy and actually get noticed, while it does look like they hired a few nobodies I believe they should hire more and create their own stars rather then working on wrestling past to get their promotion over. Around 2 minutes after the match Jeff Hardy came out into the crowd and signed autographs for everyone who bought front row tickets [B]GRADE: [COLOR="Yellow"]C-[/COLOR] [/B]Nice to see WWR doing things like this to show appreciation to their fans [COLOR="DarkOrchid"][B][I][U]MIDNIGHT MADNESS:[/U][/I][/B][/COLOR] [B]Live[/B] from [B]Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth[/B] with a crowd of [B]4,339[/B]. So tonight in front of you thousands of fans we will have a 10 man Battle Royal for the WWR Universal Title! Now that we are on the page of titles, I would also like to talk about our Future's title. Tonight we will see 2 number one contendership matches. First will be Teddy Hart vs. Heretic for the #1 Contendership for the vacant Future's Title,a title that will show us who the future of the company will be and anyone can hold it, with one condition. They must be under 27. The second will be a #1 Contendership match between Sandman and Heidenreich, the winner will get a shot at whoever wins tonight's battle royale. So without further ado, let's get my show on the road!" [B][COLOR="Yellow"]GRADE: C [/COLOR][/B] (OOC:This was actually 3 segments but they all had the same grade) [B]NOTES:[/B] //Petunia Rose has shown me that she is only a decent GM at best, but she is an excellent booker, and time should make her into a better person on the mic. It was a good first step for someone just getting started but there was also a bad first step, Petunia Rose arrived just minutes before the show went on the air and had no time for proper make up and hair styling. A warning will be in order.\\ Petunia leaves with the crowd awaiting the next scene. The screen fades to show... Sable smiling backstage. Sable: "Ever since my release from a certain promotion, I have been seeking revenge on their owner, but then I realised that as a women, I may not be strong enough to do it all myself. So I pulled some strings and found the most talented man I could find. " Heretic walks on screen Sable: "and with me and him together, no one is going to stop us! We will prove that tonight!" Hertetic does an evil sounding laugh as the camera fades to black [COLOR="Yellow"][B]GRADE: C+[/B][/COLOR] [B]NOTES:[/B] //Sable did a good job putting over her new gimmick along with her new client. Heretic distracts the ref by trying to take off the top turnbuckle cover while Sable enters the ring and hits Teddy with a steel chair. The ref turns around and sees Sable with the chair and calls the match in favor of Teddy Hart by DQ in 2:54. [B]WINNER: and new #1 Contender for the Future's Title TEDDY HART[/B] [B][COLOR="DarkOrange"]GARDE: D[/COLOR][/COLOR][/B] [B]NOTES:[/B] //Although it was a low quality match, good chemistry was shown between these two. Heretic is showing massive improvments.\\ [B]COMMERCIAL BREAK[/B] The camera cuts back into the ring where Fire Angel and Ice are both standing, Fire holding a microphone. Fire: "Tonight will be a piece of history, as for the first time ever, Fire and Ice will work together to destroy whoever comes their way." The Mic is handed to Ice: Ice: "That's right, and to prove how dangerous we are, we will face the next 2 people that come out." The Satos Brothers Music is heard blaring through the arena as Shu comes out followed by Kei dressed in elegant robes, and deisgner wrestling gear." [B][COLOR="Red"]GRADE: E[/COLOR][/B] [B]NOTES:[/B] //Look at how bad they did, either we get writters to write their script, give them a manager, or keep them off the mics outside the main show. This angle briefly let us see the Sato's new gimmicks as Fashion Experts.\\ [SIZE="6"][I]FIRE AND ICE vs. SATO BROTHERS[/I][/SIZE] [CENTER][IMG]http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/7735/fireangeltc2.jpg[/IMG][IMG]http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/6595/icehm8.jpg[/IMG] VS. The two were kept pretty even until Shu got a tag in after about 2:30 Kei took control with a starting Missile Dropkick following the tag. He then put in a couple submission holds before Ice managed to tag in Fire at 3:45. Fire and Kei both went head to head with momentum changing moves every 15 seconds. The match stayed even until around 6:00 when it was Ice vs. Shu again. Shu threw Ice into the turnbuckle where Kei then put in a cheap headlock using the ropes while the legal man, Shu distracted the ref. Fire ran in and irish whipped Shu out of the ring. Fire then picked up Shu and slammed him into the turnbuckle. With the ref now watching he sees both teams cheating and is forced to call a double DQ at 6:46 [B] WINNERS: DRAW at 6:46[/B] [B][COLOR="Red"]GRADE: E[/COLOR][/B] Notes: //Not quite what I expected from these two teams, but hopefuly with more exprience, Fire and Ice will begin to put on better matches. While the wrestling was decent, the crowd was just non-responsive.\\ The camera shows a music video highlighting Heidenreich's short run as a tag teamer with Road Warrior Animal in the WWE. The match started out with Sandman on offence and stayed that way throughout almost the whole match. With numerous close two counts, Sandman was starting to tire at around 8:30. No matter what he threw at Heidenreich, Jon was always kicking out. At this point in the match Heidenreich finally slipped out of a DDT and quickly hit his own. Heidenreich then pinned Sandman and after the ref was focused on the count, Heidenreich brought one of his feet up on the ropes for leaverage leaving Sandman screwed at 9:20 [B]WINNER: and NEW #1 Contender for the Universal Title In 2 Weeks, Heidenireich![/B] [B][COLOR="Yellow"]GRADE: C[/COLOR][/B] NOTES: //Pretty good match between the two, kept both of them at realitivley the same level by the end.\\ The camera cuts to a backstage locker room full of kegs and purple powder lined up. CM Punk is shown sitting in a reclinar brinking out of a big brown mug. CM PUNK: "Spring Break, hell no! I am straight edge, kegs???...full of Pepsi, why?...because I like Pepsi...the powder??? Pixie Dust one of my favorite candies when I was growing up. Now why do this when I could be boozing it up with the ladies?" Camera shows a drunk acting Jade Chung in a bikini. CM PUNK: "Because I have seen to many people throw away what they've built up over the years in a matter of minutes, and I am here to keep what I have. I am C.M. Punk!." [COLOR="Yellow"][B]GRADE: C[/B][/COLOR] [B]NOTES:[/B] //Jade did a decent job of acting drunk and showed her great looks. CM Punk did a good job on the mic. I like taking what the WWE did before they released Punk, get him over first.\\ Teddy Hart is shown backstage walking the hallways with a cut across his face. He walks into a door labeled "GMs Office". He casually walks in and begins talking to Petunia. TEDDY HART: "Look, Petunia I know I didn't win the match cleanly, but I just wanted to check up and make sure that that Future's Title Match for next week was still on, right?" PETUNIA ROSE: "Look, Teddy I have to much to do right now, I am trying to make our first show run as smooth as possible, I'll have to get back to you on this some other time, try.... next week!" Teddy looks a bit angry but manages to keep his temper as he walks out the door." OJ had taken quite a beating and had just finished pinning Afa Jr. when C.M.Punk threw him into the corner to hit a Pepsi Plunge. 1....2.....3! OJ is eliminated! Camera focuses on Tajiri and Hardy where Tajiri almost hits a buzzsaw kick, but is ducked by Hardy. A Twist of Fate then occurs eliminating Tajiri with a 3 count. Punk, Hardy, and Animal are all that is left at 15:20. The crowd begins a "Hardy, Hardy, Hardy..." chant and Hardy gets the momentum by whipping Animal into CM Punk who is resting at a corner. Punk falls and hits his head on a previously uncovered turnbuckle head. Hardy goes over for the pin on Punk. 1...2...3! Punk is out and Animal is on the ground. The crowd's chants grow wider throughout the stadium. As Hardy picks up Animal, backs up and spirnts at him and tries to do a huricarana, but instead gets reveresed into a sidewalk slam. Time goes by with Momentum going back and forth. At 18:20 Hardy is on the top rope and gives the Hardy Boys guns. He hits a Senton Bomb and goes for a pin. 1......2.....NO! A person who is suddenly in the ring pulls Hardy's leg of Animal. The camera fades back to show Heidenreich staring at Hardy with a menacing look on his face. Heidenreich then hits a Spinning Side Slam and leaves Hardy down and out. He then drags Animal's arm over onto Hardy and demands the ref count the pin. 1...............2......................3 the ref counts rather slowly, but the final hand comes down and the crowd boos loudly. The night ends with Heidenreich picking up Animal and putting the Universal Title over his shoulder. Lawler really failed to impress me at all. I did notice more polished Chain Wrestling from him though. CM Punk was working the crowd and is definatly become a better threat to the Areial World. NEW SIGNINGS AND MORE![/B] July 9th, 2006 For all of us who watched Midnight Madness last week we may know that their show was average and nothing better. However, the rating were not.Suffering from only 12,808 people, Cinemax are not happy. If change does not come soon, then this show could go off the air in the future. This problem has already been adressed by WWR Spokesperson Sonny Fairview. "We hope to stay with Cinemax until season's end, and then we will be looking for a smaller network and a better deal. We have also been sending request for PPV networks to hold our first ever PPV WWR Rough Start, which is also the projected name of their first game, that we also hope to air live in the last week of July." Sonny also told us that The Brain had been fired from the announcing team, and that his replacment would be Sonny himself. We were also informed of some new signings set to debut next week on Midnight Madness! [I]James Earl Jones has acted and has done many voiceovers over the years. He faced off against Sandman. Sandman dominated until 3:15 when Dupree slammed Sandman down. Dupree hits a French Tickler whichs gets the crowd booing, but IMO is always fun to watch. Dupree tags in Suzuki. Suzuki gets the hot tag momentum, but quickly loses it when Sandman somehow gets Smith in. Smith brawls with Kenzo and for the most part keeps the momentum. At 5:00 Suzuki tags in Dupree. Dupree starts to get ahead. Dupree keeps the offence running. At 6:00 Smith reveresed a move into a pinfall. It only got a 2 count, but Suzuki runs in anyway and acts like he was trying to break up the pin. The ref gets into a 10 second argument with Suzuki. Dupree takes this time to regain offence and pull off one of his boots and take out a pair of brass knuckles. Smith gets back up and Dupree swings his fist at him. Although the ref's attention was refocused on the in ring action, Smith's body blocked the sight of the brass knuckles. Dupree leaves the ring and bends down pretending to take a breather. He casually slips off the knuckles. Sandman gets off the apron and charges Dupree. Dupree runs back into the ring and Sandman tries to enter too, but the ref stops him. Dupree pins the still KO'd and gets the 3 count At 6:27. [B] RESULT: Dupree beats Justice Smith at 6:27 by using brass knuckles.[/B] [B]GRADE: [COLOR="Orange"]C-[/COLOR][/B] [B]AFTERMATH:[/B] Russo and Sandman argue with the referee. It would be a shame to see him only used as a jobber. Vince Russo was at ring side for Justice Smith and looked like a professional manager. It's good to see a male at ringside rather then just some blonde swimsuit model. Of course I only say that because I can just flip straight to Playboy if I wanted that. After 4 of some impressive areial moves Colt Cabana is tagged in. Kei and Colt did some pretty good work together. The two stayed real even both getting offense in every other move. The two stayed in the ring for 3 more minutes, when it was Tajiri vs. Punk. A semi-rematch of last week's battle royale. Tajiri gets all the momentum and beats down on punk with flashy martial arts moves. Tajiri sets up a Buzzsaw Kick, but it is ducked by Punk. Punk then throws Tajiri into the corner and hits a Pepsi Plunge. Almost a repeat of the battle royale. Punk sets up the pin. 1.....2.....3! Punk wins. After selling to the Honky Tonk Man, the two promotions agreed it would beifeit both of them if they became territories. So far the only people down from WWR are Cheech, Fire, and Ice.
