hurricanendp
"Fulham chase Newcastle United's Miguel Almiron" A news headline that should not belong in the wrestling world. Newcastle United chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan spoke with Fulham Director of Football, and AEW owner, Tony Khan at extensive lengths regarding the potential sale of the Newcastle United winger, and it seems those conversations may have sparked an interest in the football chairman. "Al-Rumayyan Announces World Wrestling League" With the success of league sports, such as football, basketball etc, Yasir Al-Rumayyan announced the purchase of the World Wrestling League name from Savio Vega, believing to have bought an actual league, along with all IP. Al-Rumayyan immediately placed former Italian Heavyweight Champion Davide Simeone in charge of the running of the company, allowing full control over the company. "World Wrestling League Structure Revealed" "Welcome to the first WWL press conference since our official return/rebirth, my name is Davide Simeone, formerly of the European Wrestling Alliance, 7 time European Champion, last EWA Italian Heavyweight Champion, I have spent many years training the new generation of Italian and European talent, and have many excursions in Japan, and America, most notably with NJPW, and during the 90s with WCW. I have helped advice several companies throughout Europe, and most recently worked out in India and Saudi Arabia. I am willing to take any questions from the floor" Hi, Chris Van Vliet, CVV, just wondered if you could tell us what WWL will be, and how it will differ from the likes of WWE, AEW, TNA etc "WWL will be a unique concept that will feature leagues of wrestlers, wrestling within divisions. This will not be like UFC with their weight classes, we are going to scour the free agent market and look to build 5 strong divisions of wrestlers, both male and female." CVV: Can you confirm any of the wrestlers that will be appearing? "So far we have very few signed up, but we are aiming to launch by August, so not long to go now. From the male side, whilst not a free agent, we have managed to secure Matt Cardona, along with Juventud Guerrera, Jody Fleisch and former NXT superstar Bobby Stevenson. Whilst on the female roster, we have confirmed Mickie James, Melina and Ivelise Velez." Nick Hausman here, can you tell us more on this proposed league structure, and how you feel it can work in the world of wrestling? "So, looking at AEW and their bid to make the Win/Loss records mean something again, we've looked at that and opted to take a league approach, in the hope that it can make things interesting to the fans. At the moment, it will purely be ballot based, we are not putting the best of the best into Division 1, and the worst in the bottom division, all will be random, we may end up with a runaway leader, or we could have an open season until the final match week, we won't know until we get underway. We are planning however, for every match to have a 15 minute allocation, and for all men's matches to be one night, and all women's to be on another. We will have a "Season Finale" after the final round of fixtures."
