2006 and Those Fighting Game****s

Recommended Posts

I am brand new to the game and so far I love it. I am an alum of The University of South Carolina and also spent two years on the sideline as a third string QB. I was Sparky Woods last recruit and the family joke is I was the reason he got fired :-) The Game****s of 2006 in this alternate world are not looking too strong. Defensively we could really struggle. The bright spots though are our Junior QB Christian Davis. 6'4 205 pound moblie QB with a gun for an arm. The problem he doesn't have much talent around him. The schedule already had nine games locked in. 8 conference games in the brutal SEC and of course the rival game against those damn Clemson Tigers. The schedule looks brutal so I was looking for some hand picked schools to get a few wins and maybe get to 6 wins and a bowl berth. Week 1 is an open week for the Game****s but in week 2 we managed to schedule Arkansas State to come visit Columbia. Arkansas State is ranked 115They should be a nice way to start my season. We then scheduled Air Force also at home in the middle of the season. The third game we scheduled was The University of North Carolina. In real life the Game****s just signed an agreement to start playing the Heels, which I think begins next year. I think it is important the two big state universities play each other, plus I hate UNC :-) The schedule looks a little more manageable but it is going to be tough. Luckily the alumni have low expectations. They just want us to avoid last place in the conference and beat Clemson. The Game****s are off in Week 1 but the nation is geared up for a huge battle as #15 Notre Dame travels to play #3 USC

That is hilarious how they block out GAME****S on here lol. Week 1 The big game as I mentioned pitted Notre Dame against USC. What a way to start the year. USC came out and dominated for about three quarters but the Fighting Irish came back and got to within one score before USC put them away. USC 30 ND 17. W. Gonzalez was the star for ND as he rushed for 133 yards while it was WR R. Graham for USC who led the way with 4 catches, 98 yards and 2 TD The big upset came down in Baton Rouge as unranked Syracuse shut down LSU 18-3. The new polls came out and Idle Georgia lost their #1 ranking to USC who impressed the voters with their win over Notre Dame Media Poll Rank Team Conf Record Points Top 25 SOS Last Next Prev 1. Week 2 South Carolina finally got on the field and opened the season with a 30-21 win over Arkansas State. The defense did not look good in the opener aas we did not cover the 16 point spread which I am sure did not make the alumni happy. There were some bright spots though born out of some negatives. On the first offensive series of the game both RB Darrel Harvey and Qb Christian Davis were injured. Harvery tore ligaments in his thumb while Davis took a shot to the mouth leaving him some extensive dental work. Status for both of them is up in the air for next week but the story of the game were their replacements. Sr. QB Richard Bell came in and went 17-24 for 258 yards and 2 TD but the real story was backup Sr.RB David Daniels who carried the ball 29 times for 158 yards. Next up is Air Force before conference play starts. Carolina is an early 13 point favorite at home Around the nation there were some great games in Week 2 that will go along way in deciding the BCS Champion. Miami looked awful impressive blowing out Ole Miss 41-23. The star of the game was Qb Danny Evans who quickly made himself a front runner for the Heisman. Evans went 16-27 267 yards and 3 TD and then carried the ball 13 times for 152 yards. The game of the week was Auburn at Ohio St. The Buckeyes scored a go ahead TD with 1:12 left which looked to give them a win but Auburn drove right down the field and scored a TD with :12 left to win 34-30. Auburn was led by QB Stephen Anderson who went 35-47 404 yards 3TD A week after LSu was upset, another SEC team was upset this week as Tennessee goes down to Oregon State 28-21 Most impressive win of the week goes to Texas who dismantled a very good Miss. St team 56-10. The win was so impressive that Texas leapfrogged everyone in the polls and now find themselves #1. USC had to be upset by this but then again it is all meaningless until the BCS rankings come out in a few weeks. The Fighting irish fall to 0-2 losing this week to Kansas St. Yet they are still ranked in the top 25 Looking ahead to Week3 there is not much to look forward to. There are no matchups where two ranked teams face each other. It should be blowout week as a lot of the top teams are facing some awful teams. USC plays Buffalo, Texas plays Temple etc etc, you get the picture. Carolina will look to go to 2-0 as Air Force comes in. A very important game to win before we head into SEC play

Week 3 Air Force 20 South Carolina 13 I was afraid of this. Even though I was 13 point favorites at home I had a bad feeling about this one. With my backup QB and backup RB both having to start because of injury the offense struggled. However, the team as a whole just made tons of huge mistakes. Dropped passes, fumbles and the back breaker was giving up a 65 yard punt return for a TD. Tough loss and one that can come back to haunt us as we get further into the season trying to get to a bowl game. David Daniels rushed for over 100 yards for the second straight week making the most of the injuries problem. He should start again next week while QB Christian Davis should be ready to return. Around the country nothing much exciting happened. As I mentioned before this was far from Separation Saturday as there was not one game that pitted two ranked teams against each other. All the ranked teams won and most in blowout fashion. Texas did struggle for a while with Temple before putting them away and the same can be said for USC and Buffalo. Next Week will have some important matchups. South Carolina at #14 Ole Miss #5 Miami at #15 Boston College #1 Texas at #9 Nebraska #10 Auburn at #12 Tennessee #20 Purdue at #21 Notre Dame Temple at #2 USC The Texas/ Nebraska game should be a great one and a game that has a huge impact on the national title picture. The Top 5 looks like this after Week 3 1)Texas 2)USC 3) Georgia 4) Florida 5) Miami
