meripu1
If I have a title lineage file that has totally up to date titles, and then I start my game in 2000. Will the lineages just go up to 2000 and the game ignores the rest, or would it cause an error?
Adam Ryland
It wouldn't do either. The dates are just pieces of text, they have no relation to the actual date, like they do for title changes that happen once the game is underway.
meripu1
So when a title changes hands through the game, what does the record say? Nothing?
Adam Ryland
? When a title changes hands during the game, it uses the date.
James Casey
The change is recorded but if, for instance, you have every change up to 2005 inputted and then start your game in 2001, the record will go June 2004, May 2005, December 2005, February 2001... The game doesn't recognise the significance of the records, basically, so it's up to you to provide lineages up to the start of your game.
meripu1
So if i start a game with lineages up to 2006 and then my game is in 2000. If a title changes hands in, say, March 2000, my lineage would say: Lost October 2006 Won March 2000 Lost - - -
Adam Ryland
Yes. But that would be the fault of whoever wrote the database, as they are giving you data for 2006 set in 2000, which is clearly a mistake.
