Purogods.com BHOTWG continue the Eye of the Dragon Tour as it heads towards it’s conclusion at Final Collision on Saturday 22nd September, where the in-augral Super 10 Cup winner will be crowned, 3 competitors (World Champion Hooded Kudo, Hiroaki Nakasawa and Eisaku Hoshino) have already qualified for the play-off semi-finals, whilst two others reigning Tag Team Shimedzu and Kinnojo Horri will battle it out to see who can take the final spot. Monday’s show will be at the Akita Stadium in Tohoku and will once again feature Super 10 Cup action. Two of the matches are only for pride, the Pool A encounter between Tom Gilmore and Elemental II and the Pool B show-down between Silver Dragon Feet stable-mates Sensational Dragon and Miyamae. The other two encounters though in each group have high-stakes riding on them, the Pool A match-up between Eisaku Hoshino and Hiroaki Nakasawa will decide who tops the group, with the winner facing the Runner-Up from Pool B in the semi-finals. The afore-mentioned final match-up in Pool B between Shimedzu and Kinnojo Horri has even higher stakes. Shimedzu just needs to reach a time-limit draw and earn a single point to qualify, whilst Kinnojo Horri needs an all out win and three points to take the final semi-final spot. Also scheduled for Monday’s show will be another Openweight Contenders 4 corner survival with the winner earning the chance to face-off with Tm Gilmore at Thursday’s show. This time the match-up will feature Yasunobu Masuno, Eiji Hamacho, U.K Dragon & SUKI and there will be tag team action as Size of the Fight take on the duo of Kiyaru & Scorpion. Thursday’s show will come from the Hiroshima Sports Park in Chugoku. The card matches for this card have yet to be released to us by Burning Hammer officials, which suggests to us that Thursday’s card will be some-what effected by what happens on Monday show. We already know that Tom Gilmore will put his Openweight Title on the line against the winner of Monday’s 4 Corner survival and it is rumoured that Koshiro Ino will make his come-back from his enforced injury lay-off. As well as the Super 10 Cup semi-finals and finals the rest of the card for Final Collision is also beginning to take shape. Whoever the Openweight Champion is for Thursday’s show be it Tom Gilmore or a new champion will defend the belt in a 5-way elimination match, confirmed participants for the match will be the current champion Tom Gilmore, Rhino Umaga and the winner of Monday’s 4 corner survival. The other area where Final Collision appears to be taking shape is in the Junior Division. Following Kansuke Konda’s shock win over Sensational Dragon in a non title match last Monday, the Size of the Fight man has been given a Junior Title shot at Final Collison. But that’s not all recent contender’s ex champion Elemental II and Americana (who has been highly influenced by the Elemental legacy) face off for the first time in a one vs one contest. The prize on the line for the winner of the match is a Junior Title shot at Fire-Dream of the Immortals 2008, the first Pay Per View even of the next tour. Sensational Dragon to get back on track after a bad week. Horri to oust Shimedzu, I reckon. I'll go with Elemental II after you said the plan was for Gilmore to lose that match originally. 4-corner I'm not sure about, so I'll go with my heart and UK Dragon. I like the Size of the Fight team.

May as well give this a shot... Masuno and Hamacho as the heavyweights brought along the power into the mix, whilst SUKI and U.K Dragon tried to win with their more scientific approaches. In the end both U.K Dragon and SUKI had been over-powered and tossed to the outside, leaving it between Masuno and Hamacho. Hamacho went for a spear, but Masuno moved out of the way and the ex-Mullet Power man dropped the Raging Bull with a big boot, before picking up the win and the Openweight Title shot with an Avalanche Bomb, Result: Yasunobu Masuno defeated SUKI, UK Dragon and Eiji Hamacho in 11:44 when Yasunobu Masuno defeated Eiji Hamacho by pinfall. They exchanged kicks and strikes at the start , Miyamae started to gain the advantage and then whipped Sensational Dragon into the corner, but the Junior Champion but the brakes on before bouncing off the turnbuckle and taking Miyamae down with a Tornado DDT. One.... Two..... Miyamae got his foot on the ropes, Dragon then went out onto the apron and slingshotted himself back in landing on Miyamae with a Plancha, before following up with a Standing Moonsault but Miyamae got his knees up. Miyamae then got back up to his feet, before planting Dragon into the canvas with an STO. The Tag champion then picked Dragon up off the mat, before delivering a Uranage back-breaker and then planting the Junior champion into the mat with a rolling cutter. One.... Two...... Dragon kicked out. Miyamae then tried to apply the snake-poison but Dragon worked his way out of it, and tried to lock on a Dragon Clutch only for Miyamae to work his way out of that and almost steal the win with a roll-up.... Dragon kicked out of that and monkey-flipped Miyamae over. Miyamae landed on his feet and tried to take Dragon down with a roundhouse kick but the Junior champion ducked and took Miyamae down with a leg-whip. Dragon then went to the outside, Miyamae staggered back up to his feet only to be nailed with a springboard drop-kick from Dragon. Dragon then caught Miyamae with an Enziguri before taking the tag champion over with a Dragon Suplex.... One.... Two..... Miyamae showed determination by kicking out, but Dragon was still in control and he looked to finish things with the Dragon Slice, but Miyamae managed to put the brakes on, and after stunning the Junior champion with a knee strike,he managed to drop Dragon across the top-rope before delivering as slingshot suplex...... One...... Two..... Dragon kicked out. Miyamae then picked Dragon up and set up for the Miyamae spoiler but Dragon managed to slip out and pushed Miyamae into the ropes before attempting to sneak a win with a roll-up....Miyamae then rolled through into a roll-up of his own, Dragon then rolled through before Miyamae retained full control and dumped the Junior champion with a wheel-barrow suplex....... One...... Two...... Dragon kicked out. Miyamae then delivered a flurry of kicks that backed the Junior champion up towards the corner, Miyamae then delivered a palm strike and set Dragon up for a Miyamae spoiler off the top-rope but Dragon shoved Miyamae off before jumping off the turnbuckle....Miyamae caught Dragon but the Junior champion was one step ahead and suprised Miyamae with the SENSATION SHOCK (Dragon-rana)...... One...... Two...... Three !! Sensational Dragon wins this show-down between the two Silver Dragon Feet stable mates. Both of these two are heels and part of what has made Dragon so good of late is his arrogance that he brings to his in-ring work. But neither Dragon or Miyamae barely worked any 'heel work' into this match. But seeing as they are stable-mates, those touches weren't really needed and this was just fine as a straight down the middle technical contest, and there was just enough intensity here to give you the impression that though stable-mates, neither man wanted to finish the tournament without registering a point. Result: Sensational Dragon defeated Miyamae in 12:45 by pinfall. Rating: B+ __________________________________________________________ We get another Super 10 Cup hype video, this time it does it's best to raise some interest in the meanignless Pool B showdown between Elemental II and Tom Gilmore. Rating: C Match #3 : Super 10 Cup Pool B: Elemental II vs Tom Gilmore vs Much like the previous match, this was only about pride and not the finishing the tournament without registering a single point. Tentative start to begin, and they engage in a spot of chain wrestling. Elemental II goes for a suprise cover, but Gilmore quickly powers of it and then gets in a knee strike before setting the Junior legend up for a suplex, but Elemental II works his way out of it and catches Gilmore with a spinning heel-kick, before taking Gilmore down with an arm-drag. Gilmore sprang back up to his feet, but Elemental II took him down with another arm-drag. Gilmore again got back up to his feet but this time Elemental II caught him with a drop-kick. Elemental II then scrambled across to make the cover, but the Openweight champion rolled to the outside. Elemental II then went up for his trade-mark handspring plancha, but Gilmore had stepped out of the way, but the Junior veteran was one step ahead of Gilmore and faked out the Openweight champ with the Elemental Daze, Gilmore ducked that Daze-kick but then Elemental II caught with a Daze-kick from the opposite direction. Elemental II then 'invited' Gilmore back into the ring, before catching the Openweight champion with a flurry of kicks, and then taking Gilmore over with an Elemental suplex..... One..... Two Gilmore kicked out, Elemental then, laid in another series of kicks, before planting Gilmore into the canvas with a DDT and going for another cover..... One.... Two..... Gilmore again kicked out and Elemental II headed up top . However Gilmore staggered back up to his feet and by staggering into the ring-ropes he managed to crotch Elemental II on the top turnbuckle. Gilmore then climbed the turnbuckle and tried to suplex Elemental II back into the ring, but the Junior Division mainstay shoved him off, before flying off with a cross-body, but the Openweight champion caught Elemenal II in mid-air with a drop-kick. Elemental II then staggered back up to his feet and was dumped with an Exploder Suplex...... One..... Two...... Elemental II kicked out, but the momentum had now swung in Gilmore's favour , and the Gaijin star took Elemental II over with his trade-mark Tilt-a Whirl Backbreaker into Gutbuster combination, before taking the ever-popular masked man over with a Fisherman Suplex.... One.... Two...... Elemental II was again able to kick out, but was unable to get up and Gilmore saw this as an opportunity to go airborne himself, springing up the turnbuckles and into the PICTURE PERFECT MOONSAULT !! However Elemental II rolled out of the way.....Gilmore landed on his feet, but then Elemental II caught the Openweight champion with an Enziguri, before planting the Openweight champion into the canvas with a somersault DDT. Elemental II then kept up the offense by springing off the ropes into a Quebrada. The former 6 time Junior champion then went for another cover but Gilmore was quick to kick out. They both got up to their feet and Elemental II worked in a flurry of kicks, before double under-hooking Gilmore's arms to set up for an Elemental Driver, but he couldn't quite get Gilmore up and the Openweight champion managed to power his way out, before getting Elemental II up onto his shoulders. Howwever Elemental II managed to fight his way off Gilmore's shoulders and caught the Openweight champion with another roundhouse kick, but Gilmore came right back with a lariat and then whipped Elemental II into the ropes to set up for the Anger Managment, but Elemental II sprang off the ropes and took Gilmore down with a cross-body, before rolling through into a pin attempt. Gilmore then rolled through into a pin attempt of his own, but Elemental II then wrapped his legs around Gilmore's neck and looked to lock in the Elemental clutch , but Gilmore managed to power his way out of it, got Elemental II onto his shoulders and drove the Junior legend into the canvas with a Death Valley Driver...... One..... Two...... Elemental kicked out, then tried to take Gilmore by suprise with a roll-up, but the Openweight champion grabbed Elemental II' legs and then worked his way into a Stone-Hold (Sharpshooter)...... Elemental II almost got to the ropes to break up the submission, but Gilmore dragged them back towards the middle of the ring and sat-back. Elemental II then tried desperately to get to the ring-ropes, but Gilmore held firm and in the end the Junior legend had no choice but to tap out. If this had a little bit more on the line, then we might off been looking at a MOTYC candidate, as it was this was a counter for counter scientific master-class between two very proficient technicans, that just lacked that extra dose of intensity to take it from an excellent match that will leave a good impression on the night, to a truly memorable one. (because personally I'm not a fan of weight class tag divisions). Anyway as for the match, this had alot more zip to it than their battles earlier in the year, because Size of the Fight have grown to become not just a good but an exceptionable tag team unit, whilst both Kiyaru and Scorpion appear to have a new focus to their work since re-concentrating themselves on the tag scene, after months of mid-card limbo in the singles ranks of the Junior Division. Lots of high-flying and turbo speed counter wrestling in this one, with both teams getting their share of near falls but in the end it was the more battle-hardened tandem of Size of the Fight that would pick up the victory by putting Golden Scorpion away with the Final Impact (Flapjack/DDT combination). Result: Size of the Fight defeated Kiyaru & Scorpion in 10:56 when Kansuke Konda defeated Golden Scorpion by pinfall with a Final Impact. Rating: B+ ___________________________________________________________ We get a video hyping up the Super 10 Cup Pool B showdown between Kinnojo Horri and Shimedzu. Rating: C Match #5 : Super 10 Cup Pool B: Kinnojo Horri vs Shimedzu vs Horri who needs the win to go through comes out the more aggressive and takes the fight right to Shimedzu. Horri lays into Shimedzu with a flurry of strikes, taking the tag champion from pillar to post. Horri then goes to set up for a suplex, but Shimedzu slips out and rolls to the outside. Horri waits for Shimedzu to come in and then goes for a lariat, but Shimedzu drops down and again rolls to the outside, much to the frustration of Horri. Horri again waits for Shimedzu to come in, this time he gets in a fore-arm smash on Shimedzu and sets up for a Power-Bomb but the Dragon-Feeter sneaks in a low blow. Horri doubles up and Shimedzu uses that time to get his breath back by going for another poweder on the outside. Horri is fully back up to his feet but gets taken down with a springboard roundhouse kick from Shimedzu, who then goes for the cover...... One..... Two..... Horri kicks out emphatically, they exchange some more strikes and once again Horri's size and power eventually comes into play to give him the advantage, he whips Shimedzu into ropes, then takes the tag champion over with a back-body drop. Shimedzu gets back up to his feet only to be dumped with a Belly to Back Suplex.....Shimedzu gets up again, but Horri applies a waist-lock and this time dumps Shimedzu with a German Suplex, that earns a two count. Horri then lifts Shimedzu back up to his feet and lays in another couple of fore-arm shots, before setting up for the Burning Lariat, but Shimedzu manages to block the attempt and then catches Horri with an Enziguri. Horri staggers and then lunges forward with another Lariat attempt only for Shimedzu to duck and catch him with another Enziguri. Shimedzu gets some momentum going and backs Horri up with a flurry of kicks. A big rounhouse see's Horri slumped into the corner. Shimedzu dishes out the face-wash before delivering a modified basement version of his trademark hesitation drop-kick. The Tag champion then lifts Horri up out of the corner and dumps Horri with a Dragon Suplex..... One..... Two.... Horri-kicks ou. Shimedzu then drags Horri over to the corner and goes up top he flys off with a Moonsault but Horri rolls out of the way at the last split second and he lands flat on his face. They both gets back up to their feet but Horri is up their bit quicker and he levels Shimedzu with a Lariat. One....... Two........ They both gets up again, and exchange strikes.....with Horri winning the exchange, he then sets up for a Power-Bomb...Shimedzu tries to get out of it but Horri drives the Dragon-Feeter into the canvas with a sit-out Power-Bomb. One...... Two...... Thr.....Shimedzu just about kicks out. Horri looks like he is going to end this but Hooded Kudo and Miyamae comes to ring-side, on the opposite side of the ring. Miyamae is carrying a kendo-stick and appears to distract referee Koetsu Shinozaki, meanwhile Kinnojo Horri seems distracted by Hooded Kudo, it appears that Kudo is going to blow mist in Horri's face but Koshiro Ino comes running in and knocks the World champion off the apron, but whilst Horri was distracted Shimedzu was recovering, and he sneaks in a low-blow on Horri. Referee Koetsu Shinozaki turns around and Horri is doubled over, Shimedzu tries for the Skull-Drop but Horri is still in this and he puts the brakes on, but Shimedzu catches him with a step up Enziguri, this time Shimedzu gets Horri up and then driven into the canvas with the SKULL DROP !! One...... Two........ Horri is out of it.... Three !! Shimedzu is through is to the semi-finals of the Super 10 Cup, in what must be seen as a slight suprise to some pundits. That was a decent match but probably lost something due to the shenanighans of Silver Dragon Feet, in making sure that Shimedzu came away with the victory and made it through to the semi-finals. But at the end of the day the interference makes sense because it fits in with the storyline I've been trying to tell throughout the tournament, that in Hooded Kudo's group, he is doing everything in his power to make sure that both himself and Silver Dragon Feet stable mate Shimedzu make it through. Tentative start from both men as they lock up with a collar and elbow tie up....Nakasawa over-powers Hoshino and shoves him down to the canvas, Hoshino gets back up and lays in a series of chops into Nakasawa, but Nakasawa soaks them up and comes back with a flurry of fore-arm smashes. Nakasawa then goes to suplex Hoshino, but Hoshino puts the brakes on and performs a standing switch, and goes for a suplex himself but this time Nakasawa blocks, and the former world champion takes Hoshino over with Belly to Back Suplex. But Hoshino gets straight back to his feet and comes right back with a flurry of knife-edged chops. Hoshino then tries for an Exploder suplex but Nakasawa blocks the attempt and dumps Hoshino with a Uranage. Nakasawa then picks Hoshino up and takes him over with a Northern Lights Suplex..... One.... Two...... Hoshino kicks out. Nakasawa gets a waist lock on Hoshino and tries for a German Suplex but Hoshino fights out with elbows and then dumps Nakasawa with an Exploder Suplex ! One...... Two....... Nakasawa emphatically kicks out, both then fire themselves up and lay into one another with chop and fore-arm flurries, neither man seems to be giving an inch. Nakasawa appears to be getting the upper hand goes for a Lariat, but Hoshino ducks under and takes Nakasawa down with another Exploder Suplex !! One..... Two...... Nakasawa again kicks out. Hoshino picks Nakasawa up off the canvas and double under-hooks the former World champions arms, he appears to be setting up for a Godzilla plunge but Nakasawa holds firm and then back body-drops Hoshino. Nakasawa turns around and both go for Lariats, they catch each other and lay in the middle of the ring. Referee Omura Umeki starts a ten count........ Both stagger up at around three and begin to brawl once again......Hoshino gets in a knee strike that doubles over Nakasawa before delivering a Uranage back-breaker. He then tries for another Exploder suplex, but this time Nakasawa blocks the attempt and takes Hoshino down with a swinging neckbreaker. Nakasawa drops down, but instead of making the cover he grabs hold of Hoshino's head and leg and applies an STF. Hoshino starts to power his way out of the submission hold so Nakasawa drops and elbow into Hoshino's back and switches the submission to a cross-face. It looks like Hoshino might be fading........ Referee Omura Umeki checks on Hoshino Hoshino's hand flops down.... Umeki checks for a second time..... Hoshino's hand flops down again.... It's make or break time for Hoshino, as Umeki checks on him for a third and final time...... Hoshino still has some life left in the tank, and in a burst of energy he makes it across to the ropes to force the rope-break. Nakasawa tries to finish things with the Nakasawa neckbreaker but Hoshino fights out of it with elbows. Nakasawa comes right back with a flurry of fore-arm shots and again goes for the Nakasawa Neckbreaker but Hoshino fights his way out of it and then takes Hoshino down with a leg-sweep DDT......Hoshino goes for the cover...... One..... Two...... Nakasawa kicks out. Hoshino gets a waist-lock on Nakasawa and tries for a German suplex, but Nakasaw fights out of it.......Nakasawa comes back with another flurry of fore-arms but Hoshino catches him with a boot to the mid-section he double under-hooks Nakasawa's arms, he tries for a Godzilla plunge, he can't quite get Nakasawa up, he tries again but decides to take Nakasawa over with a Butterfly suplex....... One...... Two...... Nakasawa kicks out again. Hoshino then tries to get Nakasawa up onto his shoulders, but Nakasawa slips off and takes Hoshino down with the NAKASAWA NECKBREAKER !! One..... Two..... Thr............ Nooo !! Hoshino kicks out...Nakasawa can't believe it but time is starting to run out and he goes right back to business laying into Hoshino with a flurry of fore-arms.....Hoshino tries to fight back but Nakasawa is all over him, a knee strike sends Hoshino flying into the ropes...........but Hoshino comes roaring back with the TYPHOON LARIAT !!! Nakasawa gets nailed....... One..... Two..... Three !! Eisaku Hoshino is the winner of this match and of Pool A. The Super 10 Cup semi finals will be Hooded Kudo vs Hiroaki Nakasawa and Eisaku Hoshino vs Shimedzu. One of Hoshino's better matches since he's been in Burning Hammer, but that should as no suprise as he was in with some the calibre and popularity of Hiroaki Nakasawa. Result: Eisaku Hoshino defeated Hiroaki Nakasawa in 18:52 by pinfall with a Typhoon Lariat. Though the original plan was for this match to be tied and for Hoshino to 'win' the group by getting all 3 points against Koshiro Ino, Nakasawa would have finished second by dropping points to the POWAAAH and Paint man in the first match. Whether or not 'Mr Over-priced' goes on to win the whole thing....you'll have to wait till Final Collision to find out. _____________________________________________________________ Overall: B+ It really shows the consistency in quality of the shows we have been putting on of late, that when a show does not feature an A* match, it can be considered a disappointment. To be honest I think I was starting to get spoilt by all those A* matches, and it's kind of a relief to see a show that doesn't feature a fully fledged MOTYC or two. _______________________________________________________________ T.V News: Lords of the Ring drew a 15.93 rating on Nippon T.V (-0.33): I've come to the conclusion that the T.V ratings have no correlation what so-ever to the last show you just put on in Touring promotions and they just fluctuate up and down, at the moment they are fluctuating down which isn't ideal as the T.V deal is up for renewal in March.

So, Koshiro's back, and is probably going to be playing the "I could so have won that!" card after the final. Could lead to an interesting matchup, especially if it's with Kudo. Also, it looks like Ino and Horri could be the ones to lead the way in finally mounting a serious challenge to SDF's complete and utter resistance-free domination of Burning Hammer. Hoshino is still dropping balls like a pubescent teenage boy, which at least makes things interesting. Though an A-rated main event is hardly a complete disaster. :p

Regarding Hoshino...I've always wondered in my ROF game about this, but it does seem noticeable to me that a lot of guys that I signed after the game started often seem to get less good ratings than those on the original roster. I mean, I've had guys come in with similar skill sets to those already on the roster, but their matches are just less good despite momentum being higher, overness being higher etc. In other words, no apparent reason. Wonder whether this is happening with Hoshino, as you seem as stumped by it as I tend to be on my game. Great show nonetheless. The tour is building to a really interesting conclusion.

Then again if anything went to plan, there would be no challenge in the game.
Shibanumo is possibly the most boring, bland, forgettable guy ever. I'd forgotten he still worked for you, or even existed. When was the last time he actually got on TV? :p
That's because Shibanumo IS the most boring, bland, forgettable ever. In reality I can't make everyone into stars, so someone's got to be the resident jobber. He's on a long term written contract at the start of the game and I think whoever offered the contract had drunk a bit too much Sake, otherwise I would have sent him to the unemployment office along with the likes of Sessue Kawate. An assessment of him is that he's competent though hardly spectacular at the basics, and is blandsville everywhere else, which makes him ideal jobber material in my view. Last time he actually appeared on T.V was back in early November.....getting squashed, I think it was by Nakasawa of all people.
I wasn't being critical of your writing/booking of him. I was just saying, the guy is boring, but as you say, perfect jobber material. Sorry if you took that the wrong way. I was laughing at him, not at your portayal of him. :p
I never took it in that way, I knew you were just laughing at his blandness, just felt it was a good opportunity to explain why he's even on the roster. Anyway I went into check his matches in TEW and found out that I made an error in the preview. Nakasawa isn't facing Shibanumo in the next event, he's actually facing P.I.N.K's Tadakuni Toshusai. Preview should be edited in the next few minutes.

Elemental II is a great professional and helped put over Scorpions offence to make the match look like a back and forth affair, even though the former champion had spells where he was able to ground Scorpion with his superior ground game, such as locking the ‘Gold and Black Attack’ into an Elemental clutch. But Scorpion did have his moments to pull off the ‘upset’ win, coming closest after landing the Golden Shot (Springboard Leg Drop) only for Elemental II to get his foot on the ropes at the last second. In the end the Junior legend’s experience told through and the finish came when Golden Scorpion missed a Moonsault and Elemental II took immediate advantage by nailing Scorpion with the Earth Breaker (Cradle Piledriver) Result: Elemental II defeated Golden Scorpion in 11:53 by pinfall. Masuno signals his intentions straight away by going right after Gilmore, Gilmore manages to avoid Masuno’s attack and catches the big man with an Enziguri. That only seems to stun Masuno, and the big man gets a hold of Gilmore throwing the Gaijin star into the corner, before delivering a series of fore-arm smashes. Masuno then goes for a running lariat, but Gilmore ducks under and delivers a series of low-kicks to the back of Masuno’s legs. Gilmore then climbed the turnbuckle and dived off, attempting a Tornado DDT but Masuno caught the champion and tossed Gilmore overhead with a back-body drop. Gilmore sprang back up to his feet, but then got dropped with a big boot. That led to a two count from Masuno, who then picked Gilmore up before laying in a few more fore-arms into Gilmore before whipping the champion across the ring and taking Gilmore down with an Ed Henson press. That earned another two count, Masuno kept up the offence by laying let another flurry of fore-arms and elbows into Gilmore, before dumping the champion into the canvas with a Belly to Belly suplex….. One….. Two….. Gilmore again hung in there and kicked out. Masuno could smell victory though, lifting Gilmore up off the canvas and setting up for the avalanche bomb, but Gilmore managed to slip out and was able to stun Masuno with a double knee face-buster. Gilmore then nailed Masuno with an Enziguri, then in the most impressive moment of all the match Gilmore summoned up what appeared to be all his strength to lift the 320 Iber across his shoulders and drop the former mullet power man with a Death Valley Driver !! Before slumping across Masuno to make the cover…. One….. Two…… Masuno was able to kick out, and both struggled back up to their feet, they exchanged strikes and the big man seemed to be getting the better of the exchange but Gilmore was able to avoid a Lariat and nailed Masuno with a super-kick. That only seemed to slightly unbalance Masuno so Gilmore nailed the big-man with a second super-kick, which this time was able to put Masuno flat on his back. Gilmore then sprang up the turnbuckles and flew off onto Masuno with the PICTURE PERFECT MOONSAULT !! One…. Two…. Three !! That is now six successful title defences for Tom Gilmore, who is now four more away from earning a shot at the World Title. No match of the year candidate or anything but they told a solid story with the considerably bigger Masuno looking a dangerous challenger, even if that was portrayed through various stretches of bland brawling and the match definitely picked up during Gilmores comeback in the last few minutes especially after the Death Valley Driver spot. Whilst Elemental II will do his best to make every match look good, Dragon’s weakness is putting on the same level of performance in meaningless bouts like this one, as with high profile title encounters. Dragon basically won this match on auto-pilot running through his (admittedly impressive looking) move-set before putting the match away with the Dragon Slice (Shiranui). Maita got in some token offence during the middle stretch but the former Openweight Champion never really looked like doing ‘A Konda’ . Despite the obvious chemistry issues however the individual class of both competitors did manage to shine through in a back and forth contest, that either man could have one. In the end Americana managed to build some momentum towards his first ever one on one showdown with 'idol' Elemental II at Final Collision by dumping the P.I.N.K mastermind with an Elemental suplex then putting the seal on things with the Inferno Splash. Result: Americana defeated Marihito Masuko in 10:24 by pinfall. The match started with Kudo and Konda , Kudo took control straight away but Konda's never say did attitude took the World Champion off his game and in the end the World Champion was forced to tag out to SUKI after having his cranium driven into the canvas with a Tornado DDT. SUKI frustrated Konda by grounding the Size of the Fight man, then the c0cky young technician tried to earn brownie points with the World champion by working with Kudo to work over Konda, and leave Eisaku Hoshino (who had let to get into the contest) frustrated by being on the outside looking in. An ace-crusher from Konda earned him enough time and space to dive across the ring and tag Hoshino into the match, who then cleaned house and things broke down from there, with Konda eventually taking everyone out on the outside with one of his trademark Tope con Hilo's. The finish saw Eisaku Hoshino drive SUKI into the mat with the Godzilla Plunge only for Hooded Kudo to take him down with an STO, then synch in the Kudo-Lock. Kansuke Konda climbed the top rope however and broke the submission hold up with a Senton Back splash. They both then rose to their feet and Konda got in an knee strik on Kudo, that doubled the World champion over..... Konda then looked to set up for the ace-crusher, but Sensational Dragon sneaked over the guard-rail and grabbed Konda's foot, Konda lost his footing and in the meantime that bought Kudo just enough time to get back up to a vertical base then stun Konda out of his boots with a Kudo-Kutter. Kudo then made the cover as SUKI pulled Hoshino back from making the save. If anything with these sort of 4 corner survivals, what you want is good drama and a compelling story, otherwise it can just come across as 4 wrestlers going through the motions, thankfully this was a case of the former. If anything it was the two 'lesser stars' who shone through in the match. Konda looked impressive despite being the one to take the pin (and really he could have won had it not been for the intervention of the man he will face for the Junior Title at Final Collision....Sensational Dragon). SUKI meanwhile managed to further develop his character of an up and comer trying to impress the leader of the most dominant faction and hoping one day his actions will get him an official invite to join the group he has so much admiration for. In fact they were, they were focused on taking the Tag Titles away from not only The Rebellion but also Silver Dragon Feet, the dominant faction that they were originally part of. The fight soon spilled to the outside and due to the emotion of the match referee Omura Umeki seemed willing to give them a slight bit of lean-way before telling them to bring it back in the ring. After pumelling the tag champions from pillar to post or more specifically guard-rail to guard-rail, the challengers finally brought things back into the ring with Miyamae isolated in their corner. Ino & Horri worked in quick tags to wear down Miyamae, dishing out simple but effective offence. Gradually they started to go for covers , Horri earned a two count with a German suplex but they came even closer when Ino followed up with a Yakuza Kick, at that point Shimedzu had seen enough and dived in to make the save only for Umeki to send him back to his corner. Miyamae was in trouble, and after being tagged in Horri set up for the Destiny Bomb, but whilst that was happening Hooded Kudo and Sensational Dragon came down to ring-side , catching the attention of referee Umeki. Umeki sent the Dragon Feeter's to the back, but that few seconds of distracton, enabled Miyamae to manouevre himself off Horri's shoulders and then deliver a low-blow. Horri doubled over and Miyamae scrambled over to make the tag......Horri however caught up with Miyamae and grabbed the left leg, but Miyamae spun round with the other leg, catching Horri with an Enziguri before diving over to make the tag into Shimedzu. Shimedzu dived off the top rope onto Horri, taking the big man down with a flying cross body and then following up with a quick pin attempt, but Horri emphatically kicked out, and as he got back up to his feet, he began to take the fight right back to Shimedzu laying in lefts and rights, but Shimedzu was coming back with kicks. Eventually it looked like Horri gained control and it looked like he might finish things off with a Burning Lariat, but Shimedzu countered with a low-kick, ducked under, then sprung off the ropes to deliver a springboard roundhouse rocking Horri, before taking the challenger off his feet with an STO. Shimedzu then tagged Miyamae back into the match, who came down across Horri's chest with a leg-drop to earn a two count. Now it was The Rebellions turn to take over and like Horri & Ino did earlier they worked quick tags (many of them phantom much to the frustration of Koshiro Ino) and plenty of their trademark double team offence. Horri endured stereo kicks to the back and chest, the facewash, the hesitation drop-kick, a Legsweep/spin-kick combination, a Legsweep/neckbreaker combination and a double team slingshot inverted suplex. But for all The Rebellion threw at him he still managed to hang in there. The Rebellion were beginning to get frustrated that they hadn't finished things off, and soon set up for the biggest move in their arsenal 'The Spiked Skull-Drop', arguably the most devastating finisher in the history of tag team wrestling. Shimedzu grabbed his arm around Horri's neck, then started to lift up, Miyamae waited on the ring apron to springboard in, but Horri held firm, his feet planted to the canvas........Shimedzu couldn't lift him up, then in a burst of energy Horri tossed Shimedzu over with a back-body-drop. Miyamae then sprang into the ring but Horri caught him in mid-air , placed him across the shoulders and delivered a DESTINY BOMB !! Shimedzu then charged at Horri, but was then stopped in his tracks and levelled with a BURNING LARIAT !! but despite taking out both of The Rebellion with his two biggest moves Horri was unable to capitalise and make a cover on either man, Horri was a spent force and needed to tag in Ino before either or both of the Tag champions made a full recovery. They all started to stir and get up, and it looked like Horri might not be able to make the tag but he dived over and managed to tag in Koshiro Ino. The POWAAAAH and Paint star flew in off the second turnbuckle knocking down Miyamae with a double axe handle before turning his attentions to Shimedzu and delivering the BACK SNAPPER !! One...... Two...... Thr.... Shimedzu dived back across the ring to break up the pin attempt, before teeing away on Ino with some low-kicks that unbalanced the big man. Shimedzu then used one of the turnbuckles as a launching pad to dive off, and drive Ino into the canvas with a swinging DDT.Shimedzu then made sure he was the legal man, but dragging Miyamae into the Rebellions' corner and tagging himself in. Shimedzu took Ino down with a Missile drop-kick, Ino got back up only for Shimedzu to come rushing towards him with a Shining Wizard, but Ino saw it coming and was able to block the move, before scooping Shimedzu off his feet and delivering a Scoop Lift Power-Slam. One...... Two...... Miyamae dived over to make the save, and that brought Horri out of the corner, and things soon broke down to a two on two brawl in the ring, with Omura Umeki starting to lose control of the situation. A double irish whip spot, saw Horri & Ino manage to get the advantage when they sent Shimedzu and Miyamae colliding into one another. Shimedzu staggered towards Kinnojo Horri, who double him over with a knee strike and then drove him into the canvas with a sitout piledriver. Meanwhile a split second later Koshiro Ino, grabbed both his hands across the throat off Miyamae, before sending Miyamae crashing back down to the canvas via the POWAAAH SUUURRGGE !! (Two handed sit-out choke slam). Ino then placed his hands across Miyamae's chest pressing down to make the cover...... One..... Two....... Shimedzu was starting to stir, but Horri had him cut off..... Three !!! Kinnojo Horri and Koshiro Ino are the NEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS !!! That was formula stuff, babyfaces dominate the early going, the heels find a way back in, then almost have the match won, babyfaces make the heroic comeback and come away with the victory, but it was 'formula' delivered well and the crowd were gripped and fully behind the duo of Horri and Ino. The arena erupted with applause (Japanese fans don't do whooping and hollering) when Omura Umeki counted to three, after Ino delivered the POWAAAH SUUURRGGE. Result: Horri & Ino defeated The Rebellion in 19:40 when Koshiro Ino defeated Miyamae by pinfall. Katsuhiko Shunsen on the commentary team, made the observation that this was Kinnojo Horri's first major title in BHOTWG. Rating: C+ The new champions joy is short lived however as P.I.N.K sneak out from amongst the crowd and attack the champions from behind with a couple of folded chairs, P.I.N.K continue to deliver the beat-down and Masuko shouts out ' We're taking what is ours !!' Shimedzu and Miyamae see what is happening, and go up to P.I.N.K and then decide to join in with the beatdown, until security come into the ring to pull the 4 attackers off the new tag team champions. Rating: C _____________________________________________________________ Overall: A All in all a solid show, topped off by a semi-suprising (smart fans may well have seen it coming) title change before the PPV. The original plan wasn't actually to have the title change so near to the PPV, but Ino's injury put the schedule back a week, and the Nakasawa-Gilmore challenge was put in as an extra title defence for The Rebellion.
Just wondering but how many defences has Gilmore had of the openweight title now?
Six so far. Four more succesful defences and he'll have to vacate the belt. However as you should all know by now, there's a reward for vacating the belt after 10 defences, the successful champion gets a World Title shot. The psychology behind the system is that after 10 defences, I feel that the title holder would have 'proved' themselves at the mid-card level that the Openweight Title is set at, and should be elevated to the main event and even if the vacating Openweight Title holder loses in their World Title match, they've still made that step up. An example of someone who will contend for this belt- You have a strong main event, and an upper mid-carder is finding hard to break up the dominance of those main eventers, so they turn their attention back to the 'mid-card' title and look to build up their momentum towards challenging for the main title with a strong run with the mid-card belt. Right now current champion Tom Gilmore would be a case in point of this sort of worker. Another classic example would be that you have an up and coming mid-carder and a good run with something like the Openweight Title would at the very least help cement their place in the Upper mid-card.

Purogods.com BHOTWG- Final Collison Preview Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods present the Final Collision PPV on Saturday 22nd December from the Nippon Budokan in Kanto and across Japan on PPV via Emperor Sports. The Pay Per View will be the final show in their successful Eye of the Dragon Tour Here we preview the card Super 10 Cup- Semi Finals /Finals: Eisaku Hoshino vs Shimedzu Hooded Kudo vs Hiroaki Nakasawa Final Collison see's the culmination of the inaugral Super 10 Cup with the semi-finals and finals. The winner of the cup will earn a World Title at Fire Dream of the Immortals or in Hooded Kudo's case as World Champion, he will be able to choose his opponent if he wins the tournament. The semi finals pit Eisaku Hoshino against Silver Dragon Feet's Shimedzu, whilst World Champion Hooded Kudo goes up against Hiroaki Nakasawa. Hoshino earned top spot in Pool A by defeating Hiroaki Nakasawa in the final match of the tournaments Group stage and the former PGHW man has looked a real force since joining Burning Hammer and will be looking to take that momentum into the tournaments crunch matches. Standing in his way will be Silver Dragon Feet's Shimedzu who qualified for the semi-finals by defeating Kinnojo Horri in some-what controversial fashion following interference from World Champion and Silver Dragon Feet leader Hooded Kudo. Horri however did manage to gain some revenge on Shimedzu though, when The Rebellion lost the tag titles on Thursdays show to the tandem of Horri & Ino. Shimedzu will be looking to put that loss behind him and halt the momentum of Hoshino on course to reaching the Super 10 Cup finals. World Champion Hooded Kudo topped Pool A fairly comfortably though he was actually tied on points with Shimedzu, he was given top spot on virtue that he had cemented his place in the finals earlier. Kudo goes into the tournament with supreme confidence and will be hoping to add the Super 10 Cup to his repetoire. However things could be interesting if both himself and fellow Dragon-Feeter Shimedzu reach the final, the two did meet in the Group stage and fought to a time limit draw, but the stakes will be even higher should they meet again. The World Champion's opponent in the semi-finals will be someone he has been no stranger to facing in 2007.....Hiroaki Nakasawa. Nakasawa was the World Champion for much of the year, with Kudo chasing him until the Silver Dragon Feet leader was finally able to win the World Title in September at the Quest of Heart PPV, since then Nakasawa has been chasing Kudo, but so far the current World champion has been able to avoid Nakasawa in a one on one contest until now. Nakasawa comes into the semi-finals on a back of a hard fought defeat to Eisaku Hoshino, but will be hoping that he can take something out of that defeat, as he once more commences battle with his nemesis. P.I.N.K's actions caught the attention of Horri & Ino, who said in a post match online interview, that they want P.I.N.K at Final Collision and they'll put their World Tag Team titles on the line to get the match. _______________________________________________________ Burning Openweight Championship- 5 Way Elimination: Tom Gilmore vs Miyamae vs Rhino Umaga vs U.K Dragon vs Yasunobu Masuno Tom Gilmore has so far managed to make 6 succesful title defences and has seen off the unwanted attention of the Silver Dragon Feet faction since winning the title from Mokuami Maita at Night of the Burning Hammer. However his 7th match as champion could well be his toughest test yet, when he puts his belt on the line in a 5 way elimination match. Hoping to take the belt away from him will be former World Tag Team champion Miyamae, fellow Silver Dragon Feet member Rhino Umaga, recent title challenger Yasunobu Masuno and U.K Dragon. ____________________________________________________ Junior Title #1 Contenders- First Time Ever 1 vs 1: Americana vs Elemental II Americana and Elemental II have recently been Sensational Dragon's most heated rivals for the Burning Junior Championship, but have yet to meet each other in a one on one contest until now. Americana is known as an admirer of the Elemental legacy and has based his style and much of his move-set on that of the original Elemental and his opponent at Final Collision Elemental II. Even though this this is the first time these two have met one on one, they have already faced each other in multi-man and tag matches but have those encounters fully prepared them for a match that will be almost like looking like in a mirror. Kiyaru and Scorpion have recently been tagging together lately, and it will be interesting to see if they work together to take Size of the Fight's Hyosuke Kokan and the c0cky Silver Dragon feet admirer SUKI or will individual glory get the better of the pair and see either Kokan or SUKI be there to take advantage. ______________________________________________________ Pre-Show Match: Raging Bulls (Eiji Hamacho & Chuchi Sanda) vs Steve Flash & Bulldozer Brandon Smith The pre-show match has been confirmed for the show and it will see former 2 time World Tag Team champions The Raging Bulls go up agains the all Gaijin duo of Steve Flash and Bulldozer Brandon Smith. The Bull's have been unable to re-capture their old form during the second half of 2007, since Size of the Fight ended their most recent Tag Title run in June, but they will be hoping to get back on track with a win or can the Canadian veteran and the former College football standout turned pro wrestler pull off the upset.
