  1. <p>Been getting a bit fed up with most mods as of late other than Hive's 94/95, and from what I've seen thus far 88 by Matt Shannon and 91 by justtxyank seem good enough to play through, though waiting for updates (even though I did make the changes marked in the thread, I know both modders have updates of their own eventually planned that will make these better.)</p><p> </p><p> Is there anything else out here that I am missing as quality? Refusing to play Genadi's stuff, does anyone have their own personal playable update of any of his or the ones spawned off it? </p><p> </p><p> Just looking for another option within a mod other than what's basically 88-95, with year gaps</p><p> </p><p> Or how long would you estimate fixing the personal habits section of a mod would take???</p><p> </p><p> Makes me want to undertake a mod of my own but I really have never been a stickler for stats, getting the numbers to a t wouldn't be my forte.</p><p> </p><p> I must say I am eagerly awaiting the release of v1 2004 by idol <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  2. <p>Yeah, it's one hundred percent the truth. They all originated in EWR and the ones that needed to be expanded, or the way gimmicks were changed fixed any small issues or limitations the EWR ones might have had.</p><p> </p><p> And if you really want, you can just create one.</p><p> </p><p> Angle, match, and gimmick packs are really just for people who don't have imagination to pick the 'gimmick' and then spin it off in a certain way. Oh well. God do I hate angle packs right now though.... <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/mad.png.69834f23b9a8bf290d98375f56f1c794.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> So many pointless angles, I end up making the most basic ones you would assume were to be there.</p>
  3. Hive, the man! Keep up the hard work. Thanks for the update, gonna fire up a new 95 game sometime later this week perhaps. I'll keep notes for ya <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
  4. The Lone Wolf logo is one of my favorites by far! Kudos brew.
  5. Some excellent work done in here iDOL, great job! Used a few pieces of your work in the past as inspiration to start local companies usually based on the Road to Glory challenge.
  6. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Fleisch" data-cite="Fleisch" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37869" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>With regards to ECW/WCW, maybe hostility rather than at war.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I'd agree with hostility to start, as well as for hostile towards any companies still in the NWA; as well as maybe Bill Watts' promotion? etc.</p>
  7. <p>Few things I've noticed from my ECW save. Currently in Week 2 of October.</p><p> </p><p> ECW Save Notes:</p><p> - Raven became booker of IWF, while this might be realistic to his capabilities I feel as if he should be set to loyal to ECW or something to make him not become booker for others and only work PPA for them.</p><p> - Is there a reason 911 is and gets the recommended push of Authority Figure? I just don't know enough without doing a bit of research, thought I'd point it out.</p><p> - Speaking of which, AAA guys like Misterio Jr and the likw did work Hardcore TV matches and can't here. Not much you can do about it though, other then setting my TV to tape on a different day; which I did, just a note for you though.</p><p> - Terry Funk wouldn't work a 1v1 ECW title Match with hardcore settings against Sandman at the first event because of his physical condition being all yellow. Thus just the singles match only garnered a 59 rating, what would fix this?</p><p> - Trying to figure out a way to better accomodate ECW's product, they almost need their own match type to be honest. Just been setting more normal people to non-brawl or hardcore based matches or they start bitching. However much of ECW had interference, run-ins, and weapons without DQ.</p><p> - December to Dismember is not ECW's PPV that was WWE's incarnation, I changed mine to Holiday Hell; Gangstaz Paradise should be Sept. 95 and I changed a few others to suit and also give me 12 months (1 per) worth of events</p><p> - Paul Heyman should have a hatred or strong dislike of Bill Watts.</p><p> - Starting to wonder if ECW should be at war with more people (WCW?) Wish there were more options for talent trade available right now, domestically (WWF) and otherwise but thats just from a lack of promotions and talent. However I definitely think ECW could use more hostility pacts across the United States, perhaps with feds engaged in the regional battle.</p><p> </p><p> Game Notes:</p><p> - Had to move Anarchy Rulez to Saturday in order to accomodate one of the Steiner's last bookings with ECW in my game as they signed with NJPW. Funny, but no big deal. Just trying to use them to do one job on a big show, had them win one tag match, and lose dirty to the eliminations in the build up to a raven/richards tag title match after their interference then putting them through tables afterwards. This change then ****ed up New Jack being able to be booked on the show as he had just signed a PPA deal with USWA, didn't realize until the day; oh well.</p><p> - Forgot to take off catering and no-smoking or drugs rules backstage, sure that went over well for the first two weeks lmao. But I guess the free food may have battled the difference <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> - Beluah doesn't work as paired with Raven</p><p> - Francise doesn't work while being paired with only Pitbull #1</p><p> - Set Chubby Duddley to be the other Duddley's managers if he's not wrestling as he has the ability, just as a did with a few other folks to give certain people the rub they need. However Chubby Duddley and Duddley Duddley have bad chemistry as such.</p><p> - Adding onto that, I'm adding as many talent trades as I can to get the rub and as much credibility as possible within reason (trying to use guys who would fit, like how Lawler crossed over in real life). This means I now have a working agreement setup with both WWF starting in October, gonna see how this plays out once they wanna steal someone lmao.</p><p> - Rey Misterio broke his jaw against his dad in AAA, working through the injury though</p><p> - SMW sent me a hostile promotion relationship pact during Week 1 of October, beat me to it; love it.</p>
  8. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="D16NJD16" data-cite="D16NJD16" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37869" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>ECW had Strong Heel/Face divide, why switch it off?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> It's actually debatable. While yes, I would agree much like many companies at the time there was a clear definition of heel/face, there was none in terms of who could wrestle who, who could help who, the amount of constant swerves, really the list goes on and on. In terms of simulating TEW, and then simulating ECW, and then simulating this period of wrestling, yes I am not opposed to keeping it on for A.I. (aka when the game starts) but I think it needs to be off for my save; and realism within it. ECW was definitely counter culture at it's finest.</p><p> </p><p> Since I don't think you can link any video websites outside of youtube on here, couldn't find anything acceptable to link you too but the ECW Rise and Fall DVD is a prime example of many of the things I will point out; however not as much an issue with this mod out of box, but one we will have to find ways to fix because of the Era, and perhaps some slight tweak of settings compared to what the AI would run if they were ECW.</p><p> </p><p> Prime example comes in chapter 11 of the DVD, "Evolution of ECW"</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="wikipedia" data-cite="wikipedia" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37869" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>11. ECW Evolution - Tommy Dreamer discusses how wrestling was filled with gimmicks in ECW's early days, and how ECW was different from every other company, mainly for targeting adult males, rather than children like WWE and WCW. Paul Heyman discusses how the times were changing in professional wrestling, and that ECW was the first company to try and cater to the current generation.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Maybe me turning the face/heel divide off was a little drastic, but there were plenty of things being booked in the past and going forward in the results from ECW 95 that I glazed over that would have contradicted much of the alignments.</p>
  9. <p>Downloading the new updated data now and taking a try at ECW; as I recently re-watched the old ECW DVD released by WWE years ago. I'll report back. Going to continue my WCW game and get my unposted notes in there but some of those are on the old version; nothing much of note mostly just small nitpicky statistics stuff that could possibly be changed.</p><p> </p><p> Thanks again Hive.</p><p> </p><p> Edit - Few small gripes from my 1.05 save with WCW (Monday, Week 3, November)</p><p> </p><p> - Trying to find a way to expand Nitro intro Canada, and then other markets but having trouble getting TNT to allow pretty much anything.</p><p> - Jody Hamilton, aka Assasin #2 is retired and has low scouting levels can't see anything; his experience also says 6 years. Just a small fix up needed.</p><p> - There are a few guy on my roster who's scouting levels a bit debatable based on their experience. I don't dislike it personally as it adds an extra element of skill and guesswork to things; much like real-life booking. Gonna start to compile specific ones so I'm not just nitpicking.</p><p> - Gene Okerland is still collecting performance and other mic stats, your call. In my opion he should either already be at that level or soon capping in game in terms of skill gain. This being said, he was in a segment with Hogan thus may it may have been rubbing off, I dont know.</p><p> </p><p> Notes about my save, if anyone even cares that is...</p><p> </p><p> - Luger got hit with Steriod usage in Week 1 of October, Regal in Week 2. Flair in Week 3 for Hard Drugs, and November first day for juice, along with Sting; who are the first people who responded well to my non-action in the situation. Told me he would get clean.... I love this game. </p><p> - Worth noting I started my game with Eric Bischoff, just as a booker to simulate reality as best as possible. Gonna be tough getting Austin in town anytime soon let me tell ya. Chose negotation full, the rest are split evenly except diplomacy is one lower (which I will supplement with my first additional point).</p><p> - Signed Hogan to a 3 year deal for 80k per month (only up roughly 1k per month from his expiring deal, left the bonus around 82k). He only got me for the creative control clause, couldn't be bothered to try and negotiate that off him if that's even possible I don't know.</p><p> - Dusty Rhodes took Rhino under his wing.</p><p> - Jake Roberts and DDP are no longer friends, looks like The Snake's chances in showing up down south just decreased greatly. It it noted however that they are not enemies, having just parted ways. This may actually be true of real-life at any given time with the two, or Jake and anyone. Will be interestng to see if they ever become friends again lmao, I wonder if the game takes into account things like past relationship tendencies when generating new ones. Interesting thought.</p><p> - Got Flair to re-sign for 3 years at 10k less per month then he was previously getting, and rouhgly 14k less than what it had him valued at the top of the negotiations screen. Left his bonus at 64k, lucky guy. Pillman for 2k less. Now realizing how beneficial these user talents or traits really are.</p><p> - Starting to run the riot act on low-level talent who act up; see: Dick Slater fighting Mongo McMichael (who's bound to get buried soon too cause he's been stiring the pot on his own). Eddy Guerrero showing up late.</p><p> - ECW starting a lot of feuds with other companies, love it.</p><p> - Hogan took Kanyon under his wing as a protoge in Week 4 right before Saturday Night TV.</p><p> - Dwayne Johnson has entered the game world in Nov. 1995, look out. Gonna follow his career closely.</p><p> </p><p> As for the new 1.06 with ECW:</p><p> </p><p> Product: I changed the women's division to none, as it seems none of the girls hired perform well enough to warrant a push as such. Beluah gets mad pretty quickly about her push, etc. My suggestion for AI leave it on, however I did notice it told me in hidden gems some random female wrestlers that would have never otherwise ever shown up in ECW, for realism sake.</p><p> - I also switched the face/heel divide to none.</p><p> - Chris Benoit should start with a WCW contract just like Eddy and Dean as all three got stolen from ECW/Indys at the same time.</p><p> - Steve Austin thinks ECW is too small, while this may be true in terms of the scenarios stats he did have a stint in the company post-WCW, pre-WWF whilst still injured, and even upon his in-ring return for a short period.</p><p> - Cactus Jack is affiliated (stable) with Raven's Nest, is this correct?</p><p> - I also agree all low-level companies should have drug-testing automatically set to off to begin the game.</p>
  10. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Hive" data-cite="Hive" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37869" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><span>http://fourvolleys.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/300x227xgood-news-everyone-300x227.jpg.pagespeed.ic.atMOPHb0Lo.jpg</span><p> </p><p> Adam Ryland swiftly fixed the broken database for me - so an update is back on the menu! <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Amazing. I actually didn't doubt it for a second. Adam has always been great with fixing bugs.</p><p> </p><p> Looking forward to the update, probably won't get into it for a little while even when it does release. I'll be starting as WWF for sure though.</p><p> </p><p> I endorse this mod, check it out!</p>
  11. <p>Ah that's rough news as I'm really enjoying this. But other than that one small error I don't see a lot of problems otherwise. That's definitely worth playing around haha. Going to continue reporting my stuff as I go, almost done my second month as WCW.</p><p> </p><p> On the Pillman note, if it's possible maybe just his aggression or attitude in some way. For example, I literally just got an the fart incident note, and as I'm playing I'm watching Legends of Wrestling Round Table on WWE network, the Renegades and Outlaws edition; and Pillman comes up and story from J.R. goes almost quite similar. Hilarious.</p><p> </p><p> Once again, kudos my man. Looking forward to eventually playing a WWF game one day down the line, was planning to keep this one going for as long as possible as start a new one up when you release the update. No rush tho; really. Probably been enough hard work for this thing; or any of these mods.</p>
  12. <p>No problem then, just reporting as I go hoping to help out as much as possible through playing a game. Gonna bring my findings here, played a month game time as WCW and been loving this mod thoroughly thus far.</p><p> </p><p> Possible Errors to Fix:</p><p> </p><p> - Thrasher of WWF is misspelt Trhaser currently.</p><p> - The Taskmasker (Kevin Sullivan) is managing his brother Dave Sullivan, though they don't have any allegiance storyline wise as far as I know. Not sure of the accuracy here, just reporting my findings.</p><p> - Sgt. Craig Pittman, Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker, and Lt. James Earl Wright are all packaged with an army gimmick; however are not aligned in a stable or in any tag teams, this may be correct or an error. I remember Pittman as a singles guy primarily being a squash winner on Saturday Night's for sometime, but the other two I believe were tagging for sure.</p><p> - None of the small level UK, European or Austrailian PPV Companies I signed with in order to increase overall company exposure globally gave me trouble upon my booking of my first PPV Fall Brawl. They all gave me a notice that War Games was too risky for their network. I canceled them all in order to book the match of course, but may be something to look into. Just going to get the networks back now I'm in month two.</p><p> - Brian Pillman has quite the attitude (more on that below); mostly just starting fights with other workers and fans before events. Not sure if this is really spot on for his personality as it's been known that even though Pillman was a shooter, and off the wall, he was a nice guy as far as I remember reading and researching. This may be hard to fine tune, it's also not a huge issue. I'm trying to slowly reform him but haven't looked into the best ways of doing so game wise. Kinda funny regardless as a booker.</p><p> </p><p> Other Interesting Gameplay Notes:</p><p> </p><p> - Only person on my shortlist WWF have offered a contract to has been Warrior, he then signed a contract with them later in the second week as I had no interest in pursing him and battling with Vince (even if it was just to run up Warrior's costs). Having now checked back (with use of the editor of course) in the first week of October, Vince is paying him $49,870 a month and he gave him every perk possible. Cheers Vinnie Mac!</p><p> - Everything seems to be running well with the WWF decision making wise; having watched them gameplay/booking wise thus far after one month. However Jeff Jarrett did win the WWF World Heavyweight Championship off Diesel at their first In Your House PPV, this was somewhat surprisingly but I've seen much worse in many other mods. Gonna wait and see how this one plays out actually. Shawn is still IC champ.</p><p> - Konnan was signed to a written deal by CMLL, as I hadn't offered him a deal of any sort yet. Going to be one interesting change in history for this save.</p><p> - Re-signed The Steiner Brothers away from the bingo halls in ECW; in order to bolster my tag team division, they are set to debut in early October.</p><p> - So far Pillman (Hard drugs), as well as Scott Norton & Bagwell both (Steriods) have tested positive (with no penalty from me) by the low-level testing policy you had set as default. All three reacted cockily to my decision, I did however try to put my arm around Pillman (fatherly approach).</p><p> - Grabbed Benoit on the first day of October as he finished his tour with NJPW.</p><p> </p><p> Here are two screens from my game, if you want any else as I progress just let me know. Probably keep posting them from time to time regardless. Looking forward to how this game turns out. Have injuries and deaths both set on high, with relationships kept on medium.</p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t366/bluntsnpurp/Untitled3_zpse3851031.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t366/bluntsnpurp/Untitled4_zps9a45efcd.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> Definitely check this historic mod out if you're a fan of real world data!</p>
  13. <p>Awesome, thanks for your hard work once again man. Enjoyed the mod last edition of TEW, but this one seems excellent with all the new features available in the game and whatnot. Much time clearly has been spent with this, congrats on finishing this update and thanks for your time.</p><p> </p><p> Noticed The Nasty Boys aren't currently set as an active team either, another minor thing. You could also make the case that AA/Flair should be an occasional team as well.</p>
  14. I am indeed enjoying my game thus far tho I have yet to run a show. Just planning, about to run my first Nitro now. Noticed Chris Kanyon and Mark Starr (Men at Work tag team) have different alignments, not sure what the proper one was at the time but just thought I'd let you know!
  15. <p>Can't wait to try this mod out, a happy inclusion to the TEW 2014 mod series. One I played in 2010 at that as well.</p><p> </p><p> Going to start a game up later tonight or tomorrow, I'll let you know how it goes.</p><p> </p><p> Edit: Okay, started a game with WCW. Only small error I've found so far (as I changed all the small ones noted in the thread thus far, pre update) and noticed that Kurasawa (Manabu Nakanishi) is set as a face despite being set in a feud with Road Warrior Hawk, and being aligned with Col. Robert Parker and his stable. Clearly just a mis-click but I thought I'd obviously fill you in.</p><p> </p><p> Thanks for your time on this mod!</p>
  16. <p>Does anyone have any suggestions as to which mods out of these are some of the best? Maybe one, or a few specifically?</p><p> </p><p> Down for anything but pretty much just been browsing the real world mods, might try out the feb. 1988 to begin</p>
