  1. This looks good. I'm going to try it when I play next. Thanks for sharing.
  2. <p>Being from a country where it works quite different than the way it is portrayed in the game and rather seemingly closer to the way you describe it for Germany, I agree that I felt (and continue to feel) the same with respect to this and few other aspects. I liked your idea about the broadcasters although I'm not sure how well it will go down with a majority of the fanbase and long time players who are more accustomed to the existing settings. </p><p> </p><p> While fleshing out the media groups seems more straight forward and interesting especially because those sound like cosmetic changes mostly except their stance which is reflected via each of their broadcasters independently, right? </p><p> </p><p> Imagine a state broadcasting corporation as a media group (Call it XYZ Broadcasting Corp) and all the divisions/channels under them as different broadcasters (XYZ Movies, XYZ Sports, XYZ News etc.) How would you arrive at a stance for such a media group? Other than that I too find the media group rather "empty" the way it is right now unless they own a company in the game which adds more meaning to their role.</p>
  3. I haven't had the chance to use house shows yet as I started as an insignificant company so can't do them and then started working on a potential mod for India but this sounds cool and can be handy.
  4. I see you are taking requests so listing my name for a private request please. Cheers!
  5. <p>These are some of the best renders I have come across. Just amazing. </p><p> Great work IER!</p>
  6. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Regis" data-cite="Regis" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49621" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>y2Kunal, are there any gimmicks that you would flag up as potentially getting lots of heat in an Indian market? I know that you've mentioned being from Pakistan as an obvious one, and the potential blasphemous implications of the Hindu Goddess gimmick as maybe getting the wrong kind of heat. Is there anything else you can think of in particular?<p> </p><p> In fact, here's a more specific question: would being British be something that could be exploited for a reaction? Obviously anyone can get booed by saying "I'm foreign and better than you," but would being British give a bit of extra spice for that?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Appreciate you care to ask but no Regis, I don't think #or have experienced or have reasons to believe# that just being British will make people dislike you. As a matter of fact, I don't think any nationality will get a blanket boo in this part of the world unless they act in such way, but then that is no different from any other place. </p><p> </p><p> I think this is important so I will clarify it. My comment on the heel stable from Pakistan about the extra heat was adding a bonus to base and not the base being a certain type. The stable I imagined are heels, posing as invaders, + the acronym is ISI and they are from Pakistan. Now, an opposite of that gimmick #face/guests/talented/no controversial names name, remarks or threats# wont just keep them at neutral, it would make them an instant hit and over with the fans with ease. A growth hack in a way. Here in the real world there are many examples of artists and athletes being cheered to new high in India despite of being from Pakistan #and of course anywhere else#. People love them because they are talented and they behave. Foremost, they respect so that's all they get in return. </p><p> </p><p> I don't imagine people being booed off automatically even if they are carrying a different flag unlike, probably, in some countries. Most of us would wait to hear what they have to say and not just assume. But well, who knows right? Even if people react, that will a cheap/shortcut way to get heat. I don't know how long such feuds last as people get smarter every day not just in wrestling but even otherwise. </p><p> </p><p> The other gimmick isn't just about wrong type of heat but in the real world will see to it that there is either a written apology and commitment to such an event not happening again or promotion goes packing their bag to wherever they came from. </p><p> </p><p> But this isn't real world mod we are talking of and imagination need not aim for realism. As people mentioned that they don't know the culture well or understand the place/people well enough other than what is heard or seen in pop culture or pushed down by media houses who want your money and attention. As a matter of fact, even the regions in the game are literally half of what the actual zones/regions are in India #not just in terms of administration but also more or less on the basis of culture that can potentially govern spill over and wrestling style, industry, names, attributes, lifestyle and a lot more - might raise that at some point without expecting any changes to happen so as not to be disappointed#. </p><p> Don't get me wrong the mod is great at many places and gets a game area going which otherwise is uninteresting in the game. I enjoyed my run through it when I was reviewing but I have come to realize that it is largely on people's perception. Perhaps the legitimacy of such perception isn't of particular importance to a lot. So you should just go ahead toss in whatever ideas you have basis your creativity/perception. Not like any policing going on. I have decided I will, most probably, be doing my own scenario/mod for my personal game anyway and probably just stick with that. Lot of work but everybody gets to be happy that way. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  7. I like the sophistication that can bring although, apart from technical feasibility, it maybe a lot of work - not in adding new stuff - but in representing the existing stuff in more ways and in details that it hasn't been shown in the past. Will be great to have.
  8. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="praguepride" data-cite="praguepride" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="50133" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>That is fine on small rosters but a giant roster would flood your inbox with notices. I would say do the one screen display like in previous versions.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Isn't there a setting for each type of mail you get in-game with three "levels" of significance attached to them so in case of large rosters (where perhaps not all wrestlers will keep improving every match anyway) this can be set to the minimum setting and if at all used in conjunction with delete all option. Just saying. A single screen to display it all is alright too but I think the symbols will still be helpful to know when to check and what.</p>
  9. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="forlan" data-cite="forlan" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49911" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I used this to try an intro for my 97 mod.. great work mate</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Glad you liked it and found it useful.</p>
  10. A symbol next to the wrestler name indicating that something has improved or a note of such an improvement - anything that helps to bring it to the attention of the player would actually be a good feature to have.
  11. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Regis" data-cite="Regis" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49621" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I found Ilma on a baby name website, so it may just old or unusual. I'm fascinated to see the perspective of someone actually from the region on this mod.<p> </p><p> Also, I'm planning on introducing a Pakistani heel stable in my home game. The Invaders Smashing India, or the ISI for short.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yeah Ilma is definitely a name here, just rare like I said. Not only do I feel morally obliged to share my perspective about describing people or a sport and its perception in my country, more so when there isn't much representation here but I also want to be able to enjoy this mod and I know I will enjoy it more when I find the data accurate. Sorry if my post came across as harsh but that wasn't the intention. </p><p> </p><p> I like the idea of that stable. I had something similar but only limited to a singles or tag. Having a stable makes it bigger and a longer feud. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Wicked Intentions" data-cite="Wicked Intentions" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49621" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>First off I want to say that I respect your opinion and take on both of my characters that submitted to the mod and this is in no way an attack on them or you. I will be the first to admit that I know nothing of India outside of The Great Khali and Jinder Mahal as far as wrestling goes and The Hindu Goddess Kali from what was portrayed in the TV show Supernatural.<p> </p><p> The Names (Nadja and Sela Nyitte) I will confess that I didn't think too much about Sela's first name. I litterally just dropped "Gi" off of Gisela and thought that it looked like it fit to me. Now as of actually googling it... I can't say the same thing, but I still personally like it, because I like unconventional names as I have named my daughter Patience. Same with the last name I took Nyte (pronounced like night or nite) added the I and a second T and thought again that it looked like a good fit to me.</p><p> </p><p> As far as Nadja goes there is a story behind the name. Many years ago her as an E-Fed character to be along the same lines of Sable. A one named wonder with her being Russian. The character didn't catch on, was dropped, bought back later revamped as an Arabian Oil Princess, but again didn't take off, and was dropped. Then when I saw Brat's original posted I wanted something to add to it and looked at my long list of characters to see if any of them would work... and Nadja's name jumped right off the page to. Since reading your post I googled Nadja's name, because when I thought it up years ago I was 17 I think I'm 38 now I had no idea of the origin of the name. Having searched it I have found that now only does it have roots in Russia, The Middle East, but also Germany (I didn't know that). Also in Hindi. According this site I found that Nadja is "Nadja is baby girl name, main origin is Hindi. English meanings of Nadja is "Hope" and popular in Hindu religion."</p><p> </p><p> Belly Dancer at 15 - Now again only thing I know about Bollywood has been portrayed by WWE and TV shows like Psych. So I don't know the ins and out of Bollywood and belly dancing, but seeing as Hula dancers in some family's start teaching their kids as soon as they can walk and the fact that actors and actress become well know at the age 5 in movies (Ie. Jonathan Lipnicki [age:6 when he did Jerry McGuire) and Elle Fanning [ Age: 3 when she did I am Sam]. </p><p> </p><p> More than just a wrestler - I concur with that as Nadja herself I had tabbed as (Wrestler, Color Commentator, valet, and referee.) As with Sela was tabbed as (Wrestler, Color, or Announcer)</p><p> </p><p> Wrestling School - I didn't mention in the bio, but she as well as Sela are supposed to be graduates of WWA: India. </p><p> </p><p> Gimmicks - Could the Hindu Goddess be the next Hassan angle/gimmick... it could, but then again that could be true of any gimmick. Austin's "Stone Cold" persona had just as much chance of backfiring than succeeding. I personally think that Hassan's gimmick didn't fail, because of the fans... yes that timing was bad, but ultimately WWE pulled the plug before flushing out the gimmick and giving Hassan a chance to redeem himself, because they panicked. Haste makes waste... and unfortunately that waste was Hassan's career. </p><p> </p><p> As far as God/Goddess gimmicks being faces... I disagree with that. For one...JBL was a "Wrestling......... GOD!" and was over as a heel. As with success/failure of the gimmick it could be either or depending on your preference. Not only that there is a saying "Beware the wrath of god". I mean, the only Hindu Goddess I know anything about is Kali and while she is considered a strong mother-figure and symbolic of motherly-love, but she is in fact a goddess of death, time, and doomsday and often associated with sexuality and violence. </p><p> </p><p> Two sides to every coin and with that I'm going to wrap this up and apologize for my long winded reply and if for by any chance I came off as attacking you or your opinion.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I'm regretting my post to be honest lol. </p><p> </p><p> First, sorry if my review sounded harsh. I am happy to see people having ideas and able to connect it some way, their own way to whatever they know and form an opinion for a character that will flesh out a new area in the game. </p><p> </p><p> Second, afraid that I have never, across my study or decades of daily usage of the Hindi language, which is also my native language, heard or came across this word, not in movies, nor songs, nor poems. I can't relate it to any religion either nor would I necessarily want to relate any single language to a religion. At the very most, it can have a place in Sanskrit (spoken Sanskrit mostly) with a different meaning and that would depend on the sentence or phrase as with most Sanskrit words. </p><p> </p><p> Whatever, be the case - none of the above mean that it can't be adapted by a female who is a pro wrestler in this or any other country. Its cool. </p><p> I just found it different and mentioned so while I was reviewing with no intentions of mocking or asking to consider change or even seeking an explanation for it is your imagination and creative for a fictional character in a fictional universe. Now, our depiction of a character can make them look closer to real or just not and this is far from real in my experience and knowledge is all I was saying. </p><p> </p><p> Third, the gimmick. I wouldn't/can't compare any highly revered personality from a religious sentiment perspective or a mythological figure with JBL. I did spend quite a lot of time justifying it applying it across the pantheon of Gods across religions. But it just didn't sound right to me. Trust me, its not about religion because I even tried thinking of an evil Jesus gimmick who carries a knife to the ring or something whacky like that and it didn't feel right. Next, I spent a lot of time thinking how to even bring this up. Sorry, its just my personal opinion that it will be a gimmick in bad taste. And I won't be alone on this (maybe on the forum but not otherwise) irrespective of the fact that it is wrestling or video games. Talking of games there has been considerable controversy about a game called Smite on its portrayal of Indian gods while the game actually does rather not "isolate" any groups yet there is something about it. </p><p> </p><p> Mind you it isn't even about Hindu or anything because there was some protest by Christians against a certain movie or was it a novel. The public at large agreed. The government acted on it. It also just isn't India. The central sacred text of Hindus was banned in Russia for a while because they thought something about it was unacceptable. That's like banning Bible for portrayal of crimes against Jesus was the argument of the time here. It got crazy controversial. People were just mad at it and their take on the subject was too shallow - both here in India and there. </p><p> Just a geo-culture or thing which, well, can play reverse on the sentiments on a different topic which is perfectly acceptable in Asia but not elsewhere and can literally be anything anywhere - just more sensitive when it about race or religion. </p><p> </p><p> I found it disturbing enough to not get over it and mentioned it here. We all do it, when it comes close to certain issues that are close to us, at the very least, will point it out and try to educate the other person or at least pace your opinion but I don't think that has ever worked in history for anybody lol so fair fair. </p><p> </p><p> All in all, I don't know if brat99 contacted you to consider what I have written and reply here (if yes, then that was kind and thoughtful of him) or if you just came across the post and you took out the time to reply (thanks for that). Like I have always maintained to brat99 and here, I am going to leave it to the community and each contributor for it is their submission and their thought process. I know what I know and I had to share it with my review. Maybe I will refrain from sharing views on the characters from now but then might as well generate random characters with organic bio and random skill. I don't know. Irrespective, I did enjoy understanding where your view is coming from so thank you again for responding. </p><p> </p><p> P.S. The depiction and especially the understanding of Goddess Kaali is a little shallow. Sorry but the violence and sexuality is not the way it is meant to be portrayed but can't blame anybody for that and just forgivable. Like you rightly said your source of knowing that is limited and that too it is limited to something that doesn't qualify as a legit researcher or practitioner of the subject. Would have loved to mention more about it but I don't think that will be appropriate here. As it is the post is too long and I am regretting my review caused it.</p>
  12. Alright, so I have been playing around with this mod for some days now. Big thanks to Brat99 for initiating this. I love the renders so far. This post is to share my thoughts on what I loved the most, what I think we can tweak and why and what can be further added to this excellent piece of work. This will be a long post. Firstly, to begin with my analysis , I'm scouting - looking at renders, images, reading bios and names, tallying them against attributes, skills and popularity just to see if they are strong and consistent with their narration of an Indian C-Verse as a fictional/comical representation what the real Indian scene is like. Being from the same region in reality helps me do that well. Secondly, I'm also looking at the above data (mainly stats and popularity along with minor focus on attributes) from a game balancing and playability perspective with my limited knowledge of this game and what a player may want while playing a promotion in this region, which I believe is the most challenging of all. Think difficulty setting = Very Hard for TEW 2020. Please note - I have been reviewing tis over the past few days and there was an update a day or ago which Brat99 promptly shared with me proactively so I can reconcile my notes with the latest version and I have done that. Apologies in case of any inconsistencies and o let me know if you find any against my observations. Right then lets start by looking at the Indian female roster. Adya Asan I noticed that Adya has a modelling attribute on her. I think with what her bio says and with that attribute she should definitely enjoy more popularity to begin with. After all, she isn't a wrestler and has other interests and previous experience as well as exposure in front of the camera and public. She can be a pretty face and talented colour commentator that otherwise challenged promotions (Due to lack of colour commentary workers, lack of popular workers and smaller sized promotions in a very matured world) in this region can benefit from. I would increase her popularity in range of (at least) 40-55 for the reasons explained. Also, a suggestion for her potential for Performance be set to excellent and for Announcing to good. My observation on the original data had a note to mention that we notch up announcing to around 30 which already taken care of in the update so great work there. Not sure if we make her a freelancer. Not required for game balancing if there are other workers with the same skills available but otherwise the first promotion to get her will have an edge. Also, any ideas on how the game does independent shows? Is it when there are more freelancers or just too many free workers or are they hard coded? I couldn't find a photo for Indian independent scene in the folders so I think there are not set to happen even 10-15 years into the game which makes me think why add the region to begin with? Captain Kyodo This is a Japanese female in India looking for wrestling gigs. If she gets into a promotion with the way things are it wouldn't be unrealistic to suggest the following attributes for her - Dynamo, good at bad ass gimmick, high pain tolerance, easy to market (I know she will stand out between so few Indian women wrestlers just because she isn't Indian and get a lot of attention just for that), career woman. My previous note on her said that we must increase the puroresu and safety skill to a decent double digit which was done in the update so that's great. Another observation validated. Gayatri Dasari Gayatri has had a job in front of the TV for some time where she covered the most popular sport in the subcontinent - cricket. Also has a modelling attribute. It is actually a thing here. Anchor a show or segment on cricket and you are more recognised everywhere else. New shows and even sporting events can and do leverage that. I would set her English to fluent, popularity above Adya to at least 60 or even more and perhaps even increase her popularity to a single digit only in other regions where cricket is covered to a great degree (British Isles and Oceania - am looking at you) I would also suggest regenerates as legacy. This has to do as much with balancing the limited female workers who are non-wrestlers and decent as it has to do with what actually goes on here - their kids get into the same thing with a great head start. I don't think she needs the high power, resiliency and toughness so maybe tone it down a bit My previous note said to suggest an increase in the skills - colour to 60-70 and microphone to 85-90 to do her what could have been a great TV career some justice. This is nearly done in the update. Nearly. So maybe revisit that? Ilma Niasi Interesting (and perhaps rare) first name. I like this character for everything else right from the render to the bio and the skills except maybe and this is a huge maybe - will it be better to slightly increase the basics and consistency. Not sure if this was also tweaked in the update but I think it was can it be a little more just like for Gayatri. Mighty Girl Not being fussy but I had to point out - in the bio, it should actually be Kolkatta not Calcutta lol Given her character backdrop why her back from being fluent in English and regenerating as legacy? I think it will be good mix and relevant if we can have the can play mysterious occult well attribute on her but I understand that bio /attributes are user submissions so well but I can at least mention it, right? My previous notes on her suggested an increase in mic, charisma, acting to about 40 to begin with. I think the update has addressed the acting skill so I still suggest we look at the others for increment. After all, mighty girl has even been to wrestling school As a trade off maybe tone down hardcore to a single digit (which, again, I think is addressed - I love the update, only wish it came sooner lol) I would also definitely consider increasing aerial and flashiness by at least 10 points and focus on her as entertainer. Maybe even given 10-15 points in colour to her. Might Girl also has the potential for the attribute - creative who can invent spots giving her a bonus (and some virtual credibility to the wrestling scene around her - all because of passion and devotion) Nadja Nyitte Ok. I was perplexed. Really. I can't even pronounce the name. At all. Was it supposed to be Nadia Netty? It definitely sounds more native American Indian. Whatever, it is definitely creative as a whole. Belly dancer at age younger than 15 in Bollywood is wow. Unreal but refreshing and stands out. I wish to user more than just a wrestler - as a manager and even an on screen personality. After all, she left Bollywood for wrestling in India. Needs to be way more known in my opinion. Range 70-80. For her skills I think she is a little over powered. It is my tendency to relate cosmetic things like mention.no mention in bio of having attended training school, having a wrestling family, mentor, being from outside the business to skills and popularity but well I thought game encourages that. Maybe keep her at that and just add her as a graduate from Mumbai Academy of Kashmir Singh - the default hero character for the region in this game. Now as a side note, her heel gimmick of a Hindu Goddess is...well...I would say she won't get heat (I would actually be slightly offended if this were in reality. Can't imagine the reaction from the crowd in general). This is another WWE Muhammad Hassan angle/gimmick waiting to destroy a career instantly. It will be a shame with those skills. It is more suited as a Face gimmick (even traditionally speaking) because, well, Gods ad Goddesses are supposed to be babyface? I think it needs a change. Also noticed there is no attribute for disposition like 100% babyface etc. I am assuming in TEW 2016 parlance that is like 50 points to each face and heel Nayima Khan I loved this character. The bio weaves in with the universe well and it is so believable. The name, bio, relation everything. Such a character would draw a lot of heat. Lot. They will be used for making main eventers immortal. Like the WWE classic American v/s evil foreigner feuds. Have this match around India v/s Pakistan cricket match and you are printing money. Attribute For the same reasons, I would strongly suggest adding the attribute of marketing nightmare given the region she is active in although I don't if any of that matters from a global perspective because she is packaged in a way, knowingly or unknowingly, that is so uniquely attractive to this region. To trade off maybe add an amazing heel note. Would love to have the Regenerate with legacy option on her. The bro-sis duo can both have their respective wrestling family. A stable some day? Popularity - Because of the wrestling connection and instant heat, is it reasonable to add some? Say in the range of 20-30 Skills - I think we can bump up hardcore and star quality Nerina Mustafa Every time I see non wrestler worker added for the region, more so when the worker is female, I really appreciate it. I know how it feels when the game penalizes you non-wrestlers like announcers etc especially now that they have their own momentum. Anyway, my initial review made me feel we can tone down skills related to physical ability by 5-10 points each and slightly up referee by 5-10 points. So a trade off that makes sense I think. Now sure if she was tweaked in the update. RAAKSHAS Not many changes here. My previous note had that if we can up the fundamentals each with 10-15 points. This was taken care of in the update I suppose so nothing else. Just curious why the name is all caps? It isn't an acronym for sure. The word means demon. Reva Lal Can we grant her fluency in English? Regenerate legacy? Now if she aims to work in Japan then Skills - increase puroresu to begin with? And also grant her more star quality for the good looks in her possession according to her bio) Rina Sher Improve English language skill - a level or more. Skills - Increase aerial and reduce hardcore. (gymnast as her bio states) so just relating that. I find it difficult to be the judge of somebodys skills in this game when fleshing them out so I use their bio and have a character background in my head for them. Attribute suggestion (if it appeals) - Stunt or Daredevil, the note that saud they can invent new spots in the ring - creative attribute I think. Sela Nyitte The name. Nevermind that but the gimmick? Yes the gimmick, please. In fact, I thought it was tweaked in the update because I have made a note saying so but just went back to confirm and no it isn't. Surprisingly everything else looks ok to me except is she slightly known to the public for being the sister of a Bollywood artist and wrestler? That covers all the females in the India region. I have started with the males but a long way from completing those. On the side though, because this is preliminary analysis and not an actual sim game, I have started a game where I have included a third promotion in India (custom made intro for India, new promotion has a new custom logo, bio, and even a new custom broadcaster). I will share more about that in my next post along with the logic for having it in the way it is done. Also included will be a few stats on how the India region looks after all these additions just so people can develop their own perspective for what more can be added or tweaked there.
  13. This is so interesting. Especially because I was thinking of this virus situation as an in game era into the current C-Verse where everything is very difficult for companies with no tv slot or broadcasters whatsoever. In that regard it is different from what you are thinking but like predecessor sort? Exciting.
  14. I miss them too from the previous instalment. I recently got to know to turn off coloured lists or something from preferences to be able to get scroll bar for using keyboard keys to just scroll and I was so happy. These things can improve UX and are in no way cosmetic or unimportant as a feature.
