Albert Thorp, owner of VWA, has said during a media call that the company’s next event, VWA Settle The Score, will NOT be main evented by Hercules Johansson vs. Cub Balowicz, despite what Herc said after his match with Abominable Snowman. Cub will be fined and suspended for the next show. As for Hercules, for trying to defy Thorp’s authority by attempting to book a match against Cub live on TV, Thorp has decided Hercules will be defending his European Title against an mystery opponent at Settle The Score! - Now, it’s time to get back to action, lovers of European wrestling! Let’s get into this week’s edition of EWA Weekly Warfare! - EWA Weekly Warfare #31 Attendance: 553. Location: Koln, Germany. Card: Steffen Strucker vs. EWA Tag Team Champion Kruge The Executioner The Globetrotters (Jason Dempsey & Eugen Samper) vs. Nigerian Hit Squad (Rahabad & Rashid Lawal) Christopher Lister & The Addams Family (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams) vs. Michael Gregory & The Minds of Evil (Crusher Von Steinberg & Milo Morningstar) Future X (Petey Barnes & Eric Future) vs. EWA Tag Team Champion Byron & EWA Intercontinental Champion Paolo Gandalfini - The German crowd is enthusiastic as a new episode of Weekly Warfare is about to (sportly) entertain us! This is the first ever Weekly Warfare episode taking place in Koln, and the first EWA card taking place in Koln in over 3 years! Mark Stanford and Dougie Horwood run down the card, and they seem extremely excited by the main event of Future X versus Byron & Gandalfini! - w/ Byron and Gandalfini open the show As Byron music’s starts blasting, the whole crowd boos. Byron and Gandolfini come out to the ring, followed by Kruge The Executioner, who looks as pissed as always and occasionally stares daggers into the eyes of Gandalfini. Byron and Gandalfini enter the ring and ask for mics, while Kruge is told to patrol around the ring to ensure their safety. Byron: As always, it’s a blessing to be here in the rich and beautiful German wonderland that is Koln! Despite the nice words, the crowd boos Byron. Paolo: You can boo all you want, fine people, the fact of the matter is that we’re well aware you came here to see US! The crowd boos even harder, and chants of “Future X” can be heard after the booing stops. Byron: Future X are a respectable team indeed. But let’s be realistic, my admirers, if there’s anything I dislike, it’s people that think too highly of themselves (ain't that ironic?), and when Petey Barnes promised he’ll take Paolo’s title 2 weeks ago, I was shocked.. and I was even more shocked last week, when he said he wants a match between US! US! And him and his lil’ partner Eric Future… Paolo: Do you know how that made me feel, mr. Byron!? Byron: How did it make you feel, young Paolo? Paolo: IT DISGUSTED ME! Not only have I defeated Petey multiple times in 1 on 1 competition, not only has he dared drag my name through the mud, but then he thought he’s worthy of sharing the ring not only with me, the greatest and most good looking Intercontinental Champion in the history of EWA, but he also dared challenge the greatest and most good looking Tag Team Champion in the history of EWA, MISTER BYRON! Byron: It was truly a disturbing scene… Paolo: But wait, raising that disgusting challenge wasn’t enough! As I was about to bring justice for the Dutch boys’ vicious attack on poor Kruge, they dared stop me! Byron: If it’s anything I hate more than my wrestlers engaging in illegal in-ring activities, it’s wrestlers that hate seeing justice, Paolo, I can’t deny this… Byron looks deeply hurt and disappointed as he speaks about the actions of Future X from last week… But Paolo places his hands on Byrons back and says, in a reassuring manner: Paolo: I share your feelings of disappointment, mister Byron… but there’s one thing I can promise you: tonight, we’ll be handing mr. Barnes and mr. Future the receipts – we shall welcome them to our ring in the main event, and we shall show them the errors of their ways by humiliating them in the ring, with our superior skills! Byron: And our superior looks! Sounds like a beautiful plan, mister Gandalfini! And it will be so easy, we won’t even need Kruge around! With this, Byron and Paolo shake hangs and share another oily hug, as Kruge keeps patrolling around and looking mean. Byron: Enjoy this amazing edition of EWA’s Weekly Warfare, Koln! Byron’s music plays again, Byron & Paolo leave the ring and head backstage. Kruge remains ringside, as he’s scheduled to take part in the first match of the night. - vs. Match #1 – Steffen Strucker vs. EWA Tag Team ChampionKruge The Executioner This is only Strucker’s 2nd TV match after his herniated spinal disc finally healed! He wrestler the whole 2021 injured (and won 0 matches), and will be looking to show how good he is when fully fit now! Sadly for him, his first 1 on 1 match is against Kruge, so his chances are as slim as a toothpick. They get 5 minutes, and it’s 5 minutes of violent dominance for Kruge. Altho Steffen is still very green, Kruge manages to get a good reaction out of the crowd tearing him apart. He ends the match with The Beheading (Big boot into head stomp). Winner: Kruge The Executioner. - w/ vs. Match #2 – The Globetrotters (Eugen Semper & Jason Dempsey) w/ Krystyna vs. Nigerian Hit Squad (Rahabad & Rashid Lawal) At Madness in Bremen, The Globetrotters faced off against the NHS in a 3 v 3 tag that finished with Dempsey pinning Rashid. The babyface duo currently has a 6-1 record in 2 v 2 matches, as they’ve been wrestling mostly in trio tags. Also, their only 2 v 2 loss came in their tag debut, back in May of 2020. The NHS want to avenge their loss and they need to prove they are still not to be messed with despite starting to slow down due to their age. The two teams put on a pretty boring 13 minutes basic tag team match, where Dempsey is the only one who actually manages to look kinda good. The gimmicky nature of the characters does manage to keep the crowd somewhat engaged, tho. The match ends when, just like it happened at Madness in Bremen, Dempsey hits Rashid with the Rabid Bulldog (Jump from the from the 2nd rope into a bulldog) and got the pin. Winners: The Globetrotters. - vs. w/ Match #3 – Cristopher Lister & The Addams Family (Kalvin & Jimmi Addams) vs. Michael Gregory & The Minds Of Evil (Crusher Von Steinberg & Milo Morningstar) w/ Colossal Karl Lister’s second EWA run has been a success up to this point, and it’s going extra well as he’s been featured constantly, only missing 1 episode of Weekly Warfare, and he’s on a 3 match winning streak! The Addams are looking to keep gaining momentum. Michael Gregory hasn’t really clicked with the EWA crowds yet, and things at the moment don’t look very positive for him, as he barely gets any reaction before The Minds Of Evil & Karl join him. The lads put on a fairly boring 17 minutes match. Sadly, just like last week, Milo is wrestling as if he’s 20 years older than he really is, and working with him is a mess for everyone, while Crusher and Kalvin also don’t click. The match’s end sees Lister tricking Michael Gregory into punching Crusher. Angered, Crusher locks in the Mind Crusher (Iron claw) on his partner, while Milo is alone in the ring, getting hit once more by the Addams with the Family Meeting (Jumping running knee to the chest from Kalvin and to the upper back from Jimmi). Jimmi pins Milo once again, while Karl unsuccessfully tries to get Crusher to stop crushing whatever’s left of Michael’s mind. It looks like the evil guys really need Landon Mallory if they are to have anyone take them seriously… Winners: Lister & The Addams. - vs. Match #4 – Future X (Petey Barnes & Eric Future) vs. EWA Tag Team Champion Byron & EWA Intercontinental Champion Paolo Gandalfini This is the first time we see Future X in tag team action since they lost the tag titles back in September of 2020! Still, Petey and Eric have often been featured together as having each other’s backs and also occasionally collaborating with Christopher Lister. You already know about Byron and Paolo! They’re cocky, they’re oiled up, muscular and looking like millions of bucks, and they always get boos while acting as if the whole world is bending down at their feet! The lads put on a good match, with Gandalfini and Barnes looking straight up great when they meet each other in the ring, and Byron and Future also holding their own weights properly! After 15 minutes, the heels decide to heel it up and as Byron is distracting the referee, Gandalfini goes down on one knee and punches Future right in the jewels, as Barnes explodes in anger in his corner. Gandalfini uses this moment to hit his finisher, the Chokeslam, on Future, and as Barnes was about to go and try to break up the pin, Kruge The Executioner appears out of thin air and drags Barnes off the apron! As soon as Gandalfini pins Future, Kruge starts beating up on poor Petey, while Gandalfini and Byron celebrate yet another cheap victory! Winners: Byron & Gandalfini. Christopher Lister comes running down the ramp and tries to help Petey overcome Kruge, but before he can do much, Byron and Gandalfini attack him like a pack of dire wolves! The show goes off with the image of The Rulers & Gandalfini standing high, raising their belts, and commentator Mark Stanford informs us we’re likely to see some form of Future X & Lister vs. The Rulers & Gandalfini on next week’s episode! - Show stats: - Show rating: 51. - Viewership: 50 044. - MOTN: Byron & Gandalfini vs. Future X. - And what a show we have for next week! Following the last episode of Weekly Warfare, Eric Future takes it to social media to let it be known that he feels Byron’s discourse about justice in wrestling disgusts him, since Gandalfini cheated by hitting him with a low blow for the win in the main event. To prove that he is a man of honor, Byron agreed to give Future the one on one match with Gandalfini he was originally supposed to get a few weeks ago, adding that he has 0 doubt that Paolo can beat Eric fair and square. These being said, let’s take a look at the card for Weekly Warfare #32! Card: Cassie O’Peter vs. Maisie Laurels The debut of Marianne’s talk show, „Marianne’s Specialty”! February 2022 Week 2 We move onto the next show of this week, VWA Budapest 2022! - VWA Budapest 2022 Attendance: 569. Location: Budapest, Hungary. Card: VWA European Championship: © Hercules Johansson vs. The Abominable Snowman Ultra Fly vs. Cub Balowicz The It Crowd (Lauro Giordano & Night Spyder) vs. Brecher & Grimm Lothar Prime vs. Thunderbolt Jasper January & Despair Faction (Randy Haute & Merle O’Curle) vs. Bret Heartbreak & Team Italia (Giancarlo Giabroni & Grando Alessandro) - Show opening We’re live from Hungary’s capital, with a crowd that’s not really hot. They’re probably a bit sceptic, as last year’s Budapest show was one of the worse VWA events of recent history, being full of underwhelming matches and angles. As Dick Kerley runs down the card, we see some of tonights stars arriving to the arena: the Abominable Snowman is walking with no luggage whatsoever, and everyone seems to be avoiding him – he’ll be fighting Hercules Johansson in the main event; Brecher & Grimm walk through the backstage as if they own the place; Cub Balowicz enters the arena wearing his “Cub KOs” hoodie and an open face balaclava, and before the camera can pan out, VWA European Champion Hercules Johansson seems to be passing by, and Cub is the first one to see him! Cub: HEY HERCULES! Cub tries to attack Herc with elbows and forearms, but Herc brushes them of and hits Cub with a body slam right there through a table and onto the concrete floor! Herc: Play stupid games, win painful prizes, Cub. Not cheesy at all, Herc... With an annoyed look, Herc lifts Cub up and smashes him into a nearby wall and hits some stomps on his downed rival, before he walks off as staff scream for medical help. The crowd seems to be a bit mild, as the extra hits felt a bit cheap from Hercules, and Cub’s selling also made him a bit sympathetic. - vs. Match #1 – Jasper January & Despair Faction (Randy Haute & Merle O’Curle) vs. VWA Tag Team Champion Bret Heartbreak & Team Italia (Giancarlo Giabroni & Grando Alessandro) Jasper is as cold as ever, coming off yet another loss in an unsuccessful tag title challenge last month. But the beloved crafty veterans that make up the Despair Faction are here to lend a hand, as their appearance gets a nice reaction from the fans. Ironically, Randy & Merle first tagged together against Jasper January, back in January 2020, and at a short time afterwards the Despair Faction was born. Bret Heartbreak is coming in to a decent booing reaction, and despite his current rivalry with his father, Byron, Bret does keep mimicking his mannerisms, which invites the booing fans to chant “Byon’s shadow”, and Bret responds by giving them the finger. Team Italia arrive to a decent reaction too. Grando Alessandro is the new name of Alessandro Giordano, as he now tries to distance from Lauro Giordano, who’s been a face for a while now. The boys put on a decent, but unmemorable and lengthy match. Haute has a hard time keeping with up with the boys, and Alessandro is still a pretty bad worker, so the heat of the match is pretty much lost whenever they enter the ring. The match ends when, after 22 long minutes, Bret Heartbreak hits Randy Haute with the Heartache (Diving Double Foot Stomp) and gets the pin. Winners: Bret Heartbreak & Team Italia. - vs. Match #2 – Lothar Prime vs. Thunderbolt Lothar Prime has quite some momentum, as he’s coming off 4 consecutive 1 on 1 wins and is looking to make it 5. Thunderbolt is on a pretty good run, winning fairly often and looking good in the ring as well, as he’s been praised for tiding up his in ring work in recent months. They put on a decent 18 minutes match, although the match would likely have been better had it been shorter. Thunderbolt goes home with the win, as he outworked Lothar Prime and finished him with the Thunder Driver. Winner: Thunderbolt. - vs. Match #3 – The It Crowd (Lauro Giordano & Night Spyder) vs. (Lars) Brecher & (Ralph) Grimm As noted the last time they were in action, The It Crowd is a faction that’s mostly there to put the heels over some easy to love faces, but also to get Night Spyder some shine from being associated with veterans such as Lauro and Randy Haute. Also, worth reminding, last month a distraction from VWA Swiss Champion Matthew Macks led to the defeat of the It Crowd. Brecher & Grimm are ready for their 2 v 2 VWA debut, after last month saw Ralph Grimm’s long awaited VWA debut happen, when Brecher & Grimm tagged with Giancarlo Cabroni to beat O’Curle & The Bern Boys. They get 20 minutes and put on a decent little match, even tho Lauro is struggling to keep up with the others. The match ends soon after the sneaky Ralph Grimm introduces a steel chair to the ring. Lauro is crafty, tho, and doesn’t give him the chance to use it, as he dodges and counters each of Grimm’s attempts. Finally, at one point, the ref turns his back to try to calm down a fight on the outside between the illegal men, Spyder and Brecher. That’s when Lauro manages to grab the chair and thinks of trying a steel chair shot of his own. But out of nowhere, Matthew Macks jumps the barricade and manages to turn referee Fitz Nankervish towards Lauro, just as Lauro smacks Grimm with the chair! That’s a DQ! Realizing what happened, Lauro tries to hit Macks with the chair, but Macks escapes just in time and runes through the crowd! Spyder is looking towards Lauro with a visible disappointment, but Lauro tells him he was just trying to beat Grimm with a dose of his own medicine. That’s 2 out of 2 wins for Brecher and Grimm in VWA! Winners: Brecher & Grimm. - vs. Match #4 – Ultra Fly vs. Cub Balowicz Ultra Fly gets a decent reaction, and he looks confident. A bit too confident, given he’s fighting Cub, who, despite being 1-3 in his last 3 VWA matches, remains a top player. Cub Balowicz has some tape around his back from the earlier beatdown, but still looks fine as he enters and hypes up the crowd, who has a “love-hate” relationship with the knockout artist. The boys put on a pretty good 21 minutes match. Even tho Cub is the one who started the night by being beat up, it’s Ultra Fly who looks more tired near the end of the match, as he’s spent most of the match running towards Cub, trying to hurt his body with shotgun dropkicks from all angles. Still, Cub comes across as a proper monster, and the match ends with Cub’s famous left hook hitting Fly as he was going for a springboard crossbody. It’s a spectacular view, and even tho it’s the heel who’s winning, the crowd can’t help but applaud the finish. As he’s on the ramp, heading to the backstage area, he looks straight into a camera as he says: Cub: I don’t know how the hell I’ll do it, but at WrestleBowl there’s no damn way I’m facing anyone else but goddamn Hercules Johansson. Winner: Cub Balowicz. - vs. Match #5 – For the VWA European Championship: © Hercules Johansson vs. Abominable Snowman Despite putting a pretty mean beating on Cub earlier, Hercules comes out to a very good reaction. People are confident they’ll see an enjoyable exhibition of big meaty men slapping meat. Snowman also gets a good reaction, as despite being fairly repetitive and stagnant as a character, he’s always a sight to behold, as he’s goddamn massive and looks like a savage. The giants put on a great battle, and surprise the crowd by managing to keep going at it for 24 minutes! In the end, after multiple failed attempts, Hercules finally manages to hit Abby Snow with the Mighty Slam (modified Alabama Slam), but just as he’s about to get the pinfall, Cub Balowicz appears and kicks the ref in the head! With an unconscious ref, Cub picks up the tired Hercules and hits him with the Necksnap Drop (Neckbreaker from firemen’s carry), and heads backstage. Both wrestlers and the ref struggle to get up to their feet, but they manage to, and shockingly, after a few grappling exchanges, Hercules seems too tired to hit another Mighty Slam, but he surprises everyone by going for a double leg cradle, which secures him the win! Ab Snow is angered by losing in such a way, and slams his punches in the ground, but looking at Hercules, he realizes that he’s took to much damage and is unlikely to win a brawl, so he angrily leaves the ring and smashes chair and members on the staff on his way to the backstage area. Before the show goes off air, Hercules looks into the camera and promises he’ll put Cub in his place once and for all at VWA Settle The Score, which takes place next month! Winner, and still VWA European Champion: Hercules Johansson. - Show stats: - Rating: 51; - Viewership: 25 068; - MOTN: Hercules vs. Abominable Snowman. - Next week, the EWA will be the only European company greeting us with their presence, with EWA Weekly Warfare #31! Sometimes you just feel the urge to come back and add a few bricks to that thing you left unfinished, so I'm here to do just that! - February 2022 Week 2 This week, EWA heads to Austria, in Vienna (/Wien), as Byron’s brand of pro wrestling looks to expand its dominance in the European scene. We’ll also be looking at VWA’s annual trip to Budapest, but for new, let’s take a look at what went down at the most recent EWA Weekly Warfare! - EWA Weekly Warfare #30 Attendance: 530. Location: Vienna, Austria. Card: Cassie O’Peter & Matilda Persson vs. EWA Women’s Champion Zofia Jankovic & Machiko Matsuda Petey Barnes vs. The Witch Doctor Christopher Lister & The Addams Family (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams) vs. Bam Bam Johansson & The Minds of Evil (Crusher Von Steinberg & Milo Morningstar) Double Dutch vs. EWA Tag Team champion Byron & EWA Intercontinental Champion Paolo Gandalfini. - The Austrian fans cheer as the broadcast starts and Mark Stanford & Dougie Horwood welcome us and before Mark can talk about the card, Byron’s music starts. - Byron adresses Paolo Gandalfini The crowd boos as Byron makes his way to the ring waving and sending kisses like a beloved hero arriving after winning a great achievement. Byron: Hello, Austria! Welcome to the most fabulous entertainment show in the whole continent, EWA Weekly Warfare! Now, I’d love to chat with you, but sadly time is limited and I have a special independent contractor I’d love to address at this moment. My dear friend, our amazing Intercontinental Champion, Paolo Gandalfini! As Paolo makes his way down to the ring, most of the fans boo, although some of the ladies can’t help but admire his well oiled muscles. He enters the ring with a shining smile, with the IC belt on his shoulder, and receives a microphone. Paolo: Byron, mio amico! It was a honor to share the ring with you last week! A great privilege, and an experience I’ve learned from! It’s even an honor to be in this ring with you right now, and a pleasure too, of course! Byron: You’ve been one of my very favorite in this company ever since the day we’ve signed you, Paolo. I know I can always rely on you not only to provide high level entertainment, but also to look good while being dominant. I can’t lie to you Paolo, in more ways than one… you’re like the son I’ve never had! The crowd is split between booing and laughing, as this was an obvious shot at Bret Heartbreak, Byron's son who he fell out with and who's currently a tag team champion in VWA. But regardless Paolo looks deeply touched, and embraces Byron in a manly handshake that turns into an awkwardly oily hug… Paolo: You know it’s special to receive such compliments from a great like you, Byron! You’re a legend! Byron: And you will be too, one day, Paolo, I have no doubt! It’s why I’m not afraid to throw a curve ball in your way, and why I know that my main event scene is safe with you! People love you! Look in this arena, look in any arena we have shows, it’s more than packed, because people all around the world adore you almost as much as they adore me! The crowd boos and a few plastic glasses get thrown, although they don’t make it to the ring. Byron: It’s like you’re a God given gift! And even though I fought you just one week ago, and even though I am a tag team champion along my good friend, Kruge Le Executeur, tonight I decided I WILL MAIN EVENT WITH YOU! Paolo: What a marvelous decision! You know, Byron? If there’s anything I hate more than the people of Vienna, it’s the goddamn Dutch! Especially when they’re double! Byron and Paolo both laugh to Paolo’s amazing piece of humor, as the crowd boos with a passion. Paolo: It’s set in stone, then. Tonight, me and you, the most magnificently looking duo in the history of this whole business, we take out the Dutch trash and then we go have fun in a country that’s actually worth spending time in, like Italy! Byron: It’s a deal, amico. They embrace in one more oily hug, then they raise their hands as if they’d just won something, and then, just before leaving the ring to a choir of boos, Paolo grabs the mic again: Paolo: One more thing, I almost forgot! I almost forget about Petey Barnes, and that’s because, Petey Barnes, you don’t matter to me! You deserve no shot, but if you’d get one, I’d just win again. You don’t matter! He throws the mic and leaves the ring with Byron. Mark Stanford finally gets to run down the card. - vs. Match #1 – Cassie O’Peter & Matilda Persson vs. EWA Women’s Champion Zofia Jankovic & Machiko Matsuda Cassie seems to be burning with rage and a desire for revenge after losing to Zofia once more at Madness in Bremen, while Matilda walks with swagger and looks ready for action. Zofia & Machiko look like the most random heel duo you could imagine, but they have so much experience that they’ll likely work things out, as they have 3 times more combined experience than their opponents. The match is one of the better ones from the Cassie vs. Zofia series, as Zofia acts as a real general and manages to carry her younger opponents, although the quality does take a pretty noticeable dip when Machiko and Matilda are tagged in at the same time. That doesn’t last long, tho. 7 minutes in, the finish sees Zofia hit Matilda with the Widowmaker, and Machiko attacks Cassie from behind, rendering her unable to stop the pin. Zofia gets the job done and looks Cassie in the eyes, telling her it might be time to try fighting people she can actually beat. Winners: Zofia & Machiko. - Pre-match interview with Petey Barnes Dougie Horwood has Petey Barnes alongside him, backstage. DH: I’m here with “The X Factor” Petey Barnes who is coming of an important win against Crusher Von Steinberg at Madness in Bremen. How do you feel after your most recent triumph, Petey? PB: I’m feeling as if a great weight has been lifted off my chest, Dougie! A 290lbs Austrian weight, actually! But I can’t rest on my laurels, so tonight I go to work again, to prove that I have what it takes to be a champion again. DH: Talking about champions, you must have heard what the Intercontinental champion had to say about you earlier today, as he dismissed you saying you don’t matter. How do you react to that, Petey? PB: Well I’ll tell you what, Dougie, what Paolo said about me was not as interesting as the words he had to say for Byron. I made the mistake of thinking he’s a professional, but it’s starting to look as if he’s simply turning into Byron’s lapdog and henchmen. An unmasked Kruge, if you will. Both him and Byron know that I’m a man that’s always ready to say what’s on his mind. And after I face The Witch Doctor, I’d absolutely love to grab my life long partner Eric Future and get a chance to fight Paolo and Byron next week. The crowd seems to enjoy this idea. DH: That would definitely result in a terrific match, Petey! Thank you for your time and good luck in your upcoming match! - vs. Match #2 – Petey Barnes vs. The Witch Doctor The crowd rallies behind Petey, as he’s looked great in his last match against Crusher and made everyone believe he can beat Paolo in his promo at Madness in Bremen. The Witch Doctor is back after 3 months of absence, and he’s just as witchy as ever. As expected, Petey basically forces the Doctor into having a perfectly OK match. He lets the Doc have his moments and have his signature comedy spots, but ultimately Petey is the one dominating most of the match. The Doc locks in his frightening Voodoo Nip Twist, but Petey shows off his fighting spirit by hitting multiple mongolian chops until the Doc loses his grip and falls on his knees, putting him in position for Petey’s X-Cutter (Natural Selection). Petey does it, 1-2-3, and just like that, Petey wins in what was 6 minutes of fun. Winner: Petey Barnes. - vs. w/ Match #3 – Christopher Lister & The Addams Family (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams) vs. Bam Bam Johansson & The Minds of Evil (Crusher von Steinberg & Milo Morningstar) w/ Colossal Karl Lister has a bit of momentum as he’s won two 3 v 3 tag matches last week, and this week he’s looking to continue his streak with new partners, the most recent UEW Tag Titles challengers, The Addams Family! Bam Bam also featured in those two 3 v 3 tag matches from last week, and he was left angered when he found himself on the losing side in both situations. Now, he’s got himself a new set of partners, The Minds of Evil, as now that Landon Mallory is on vacation, Crusher will be guided by his tag partner, Milo Morningstar, and by his Masters of Evil partner, Colossal Karl. The crowd boos their entrance, mostly because this awkward formula is a reminder that they’re not seeing the company’s biggest star, Landon Mallory. They put on a pretty underwhelming 13 minutes match. Milo Morningstar’s age is showing, as he’s not anywhere close to a decent performance, and Kalvin Addams also seems to be having an off day, and the remaining four have a basic match that will probably be forgotten by the time the fans reach their homes. The match ends when The Addams hit the Family Meeting (Jumping running knee to the chest from Kalvin and to the upper back from Jimmi) on Milo, as Bam Bam and Crusher are on the outside, distracted by Lister. Post match, Crusher and Bam Bam argue and Colossal Karl jumps between them, defending Crusher and taunting Bam Bam, while the faces celebrate. Winners: Lister & The Addams. - vs. w/ Match #4 – Double Dutch (Frankie Van Heer & Henrick Van Bon) vs. EWA Tag Team Champion Byron & EWA Intercontinental Champion Paolo Gandalfini w/ Kruge The Executioner This is only the second match after losing the tag titles for Double Dutch. As always, the Dutch duo is welcomed with cheers, not only for their perfect underdog personas, but also because they face two of the most easy to hate heels in European wrestling. Byron and Paolo have managed to get the crowd to boo them with passion thanks to their opening of the show, and having Kruge come out with them as backup is a good addition to their heelish threat. As expected, on their way to the ring they act as if the crowd is cheering with tears of joy in their eyes, when they’re actually being booed. A match made in heaven, this is 14 minutes of wonderful European gimmicky wrestling. Byron taunting like a mad man while slamming and holding the Dutch in rest holds, Frank selling as if he’s about to die and Henrick looking as if he'll explode once he gets the hot tag, and most importantly, Gandalfini who, despite not being experienced as a tag wrestler, seems to know every trick in the heel tag wrestler book. He lets Frank tease the hot tag, he halts his momentum with impactful slams and drops, he toys with him like a savage animal playing with prey, and he's also taunting as if he’d be the classiest man in town, and the crowd boos him like no other, which is the best thing you can ask for from a heel like Paolo. The match has a sketchy ending. Shortly after the hot tag, the heels retreat behind Kruge, outside of the ring. With Kruge behind them and their opponents, the Dutch dive into Kruge and start beating him down, and as this happens, Byron, the company’s owner, weasels his way into the ring, grabs reff Pat Garrett and yells: Byron: They’re beating someone who has not been involved in this match in any sort of fashion! That’s a DQ! Ref Garrett: That can’t be a DQ, sir, you know that… With a savage look in his eyes, Byron grabs his collar and yells: Byron: YOU KNOW DAMN RIGHT THAT’S A DQ, GARRETT, YOU KNOW DAMN RIGHT! Aware his job might be on the line, Garrett follows Byron’s wish and rings for the DQ, ending the match with the heels as winners. As the bell rings, Gandalfini grabs a chair and hits both Frank and Henrick on their backs. Before any damage can be done, tho, the music of Future X starts playing and Eric Future and Petey Williams come to make the save. Mark Stanford lets us know that it seems like next week we’ll be seeing Future X take on Byron and Gandalfini, and Lister and The Addams will be in action against The Minds of Evil once again, with Michael Gregory helping the heel side this time. The show goes off with the heels together in the ring and the 4 faces on the rampway. - Show stats: - Show rating: 53; - Viewership: 50 416; - MOTN: Byron & Gandalfini vs. Double Dutch. - The VWA is also coming back this week, with VWA Budapest 2022! They run through the card with excitement, putting over Leve vs. Makinen II, Don & Cub vs. Juan & Knyazev and the main event! - Match #1 – Takuya Omura vs. Red Dragon <img src=https://imgur.com/jHLfvB0.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/NKV0j2J.png> Takuya is a muscular Japanese babyface who’s made his debut in his European excursion, in November 2020. Now, he’s twice the worker he was back then, but still way off what’s expected of a BHOTWG young talent. Still, he’s only 20yo, so the 6’2, 247lbs street fighter has plenty of time to develop. This is his 3rd main show UEW appearance, and he’s even had a main show win! Red Dragon is here to teach Takuya how to work, and kick his ass in the process. They get 7 minutes, and Red Dragon tries his best to make Takuya look good, but they don’t really click. The match ends with Dragon hitting his Flamebreath finisher (Leg Lariat off the top rope), and the crowd ain’t really impressed with anything except Dragon’s finisher. The crowd play’s along with Dragon’s heel shtick. Winner: Red Dragon. - Match #2 – Xavi Machismo & Thomas Morgan vs. Teruki Nakayama & Aio Bandai <img src=https://imgur.com/p7YkhF9.png><img src=https://imgur.com/4gOttdW.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/nSVeNxK.png><img src=https://imgur.com/ciWCBmP.png> Xavi is getting hot in the midcard, while Thomas is just some guy after Walter Morgan left the UEW. Teruki is getting love in UEW, but it’s more because of his size than his in ring skills. Aio is seen as one of the most talented young lions in the current crop of Japanese visitors. He’s a lightweight tech-flier that looks good, but doesn’t impress with a mic in his hand in neither English or Japanese. This is only his 2nd main-show appearance. It’s a pretty boring match, but not too bad overall. Sadly, Thomas Morgan’s body is slowly falling apart, as he’s 47yo, and Teruki is still too green to be deemed a good wrestler. Xavi carried most of this match, and the match ended after 9 minutes, when Xavi hit Teruki Nakayama with the Falcon Arrow. Winners: Xavi & Thomas. - Match #3 – Waotaka Masanobu vs. Irwin Guttman <img src=https://imgur.com/syRnGYO.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/ZYAT2LC.png> Waotaka Masanobu is a lightweight technician-brawler with an anti-system gimmick. He’s already a good brawler and might develop into an upper midcarder or even a main eventer, but as of now, he’s 24yo, he’s been on excursion with the UEW for 14 months, and this is his first main-show appearance. Irwin Guttman is seemingly on the rise, as his new, even more muscular look, gained him a lot of appreciation, and his in ring work is as good as always. It looks as these two have very good chemistry, as Waotaka put on the match of his life, as technician veteran Irwin Guttman carried the Japanese youngster to an enjoyable match. It ended after 9 minutes, when Guttman finally locked in his Tiger Sleeper (Dragon Sleeper). The match booed the heck out of arrogant Gutmann. Winner: Irwin Guttman. - Match #4 – Garion LaChance vs. Armand Hardwicke <img src=https://imgur.com/vtpnTFR.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/K7Hvz7M.png> Garion is an aging lowermidcarder that gets most of his wins over Japanese young lions. Armand Hardwicke has been on the rise for a while, but his in-ring work, sadly, is often mediocre, which will be a big problem for him as long as he’s in UEW. They put on a forgettable 6 minutes of action, with Garion looking sloppy for the most part. It ends with Armand Hardwicke’s finisher, Wicked Road (Cross Rhodes). Winner: Armand Hardwicke. - Match #5 – For the UEW Tag Team Championships: © (Lars) Brecher & (Ralph) Grimm vs. Juan Mendoza & Aleksander Knyazev <img src=https://imgur.com/l3mtnCE.png><img src=https://imgur.com/PuW011l.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/XBq07ai.png><img src=https://imgur.com/jt3lu7q.png> Brecher & Grimm are one heck of a pairing, and the most important tag team in the history of the UEW, and they’re both in their primes. Mendoza is still a pretty hollow Spanish hero, and Knyazev is a pretty cool guy but he doesn’t feel like he’ll set the world on fire anytime soon. They all give their best to make it an interesting and engaging match, but things just don’t click: Mendoza forgets to sell properly, Knyazev either misses, either hits stiff, and Brecher and Grimm can only do so much to raise their opponents. At the end, it’s a decent match, but not really up to the same standard that Brecher & Grimm have set in the last year. It ends with Mendoza tapping out to the Munich Crunch (Boston Crab + Camel Clutch). Winners, and still UEW Tag Team champions: Brecher & Grimm. -   Match #6 – #1 Contenders match for the UEW Tag Titles: Don Henderson & Cub Balowicz vs. Joey Beauchamp & Jase Cole <img src=https://imgur.com/qCR6rgz.png><img src=https://imgur.com/tZc5VPc.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/CCJ0DLn.png><img src=https://imgur.com/VHN7Hb9.png> Well, it looks like Don H and Balowicz are not giving up and want revenge for their defeat at the hands of Brecher and Grimm, last month. They’ll have some top notch opposition, as they will be facing regular title challenger Joey Beauchamp and Jase Cole, who just kicked Kalu Owusu out of UEW and hasn’t lost a match since Juny 2021. The two teams put a pretty good back and forth match. You can see sharing the ring with great workers motivated Joey to give one of his best performances in recent years, and all the guys played the roles well – Don, as the babyface that sells his ass off, Jase and Joey as the sneaky, annoying heels that cheat to maintain control, and Cub as the menacing hot tag that earns his team redemption. They get 21 minutes and make the crowd enjoy most of it. The match ends with Cub cracking Beauchamp with his Necksnap Drop (Neckbreaker from firemen’s carry), as Don makes sure Jase doesn’t break the pin. The champions come to the ramp to taunt the “new” contenders, and Cub and Don look fired up. Winners: Don H & Balowicz. - Match #7 – Gordon Leve vs. Konrad Makinen <img src=https://imgur.com/fIILvDl.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/Tlv1rkn.png> These guys put one of the best matches a European promotion put on in the last 10 years, when they collided last year, at UEW Doomsday 2021. What sucks is that Ali Bloxsome and Joey Beauchamp still don’t see much in Gordon Leve, as he’s being booked as midcarder-ish as always, as he remains a pretty non-remarkable, bland character, despite his in-ring skill. A win for Gordon here could instantly make him, tho. On the other side, Konrad has been regarded as one of the top European wrestlers of the recent years, so given his status and history with Leve, no one would complain if this would headline the card. They get 22 minutes, and it’s honestly amazing for Europe’s standards, this might be the best match a European company has ever produced. Ever! The crowd loved everything they did, as Konrad looked to wear Gordon down with his flashy slams, strikes and dives, while every second Gordon was in control earned cheers, as he tormented the “stone cold” Makinen with creative submission holds. They both managed to spectacularly reverse their signature moves and finishers. Konrad managed to grab the ropes with his feet while in Leve’s Crucifix Armbreaker, he kicked out by ropebreak after getting hit with Gordon’s Breakdown DDT (Double Underhook DDT), and eventually, it only took one well timed Graveyard Trip (Modified STO) from Konrad to put Leve’s lights out and earn the victory. As the match ended, the Spanish crowd went up on their feet and gave both guys an ovation, and you could tell that even “The Stone Cold Killer” was amazed with what he and Leve created in the ring. Winner: Konrad Makinen, the UEW and everyone who watched. - Match #8 – For the UEW World Championship: © Punisher Paul Hughes vs. Menace <img src=https://imgur.com/xaTDD4p.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/jYW9Zw3.png> Punisher Paul is still going decent. While he’s no longer an ace in the ring, he’s a beloved babyface, and his overness mostly carries this last big run Paul’s getting. Menace, despite coming off a loss, always looked strong and believable enough to make for a decent challenger. It’s worth mentioning Paul’s last loss was in a 1 on 1 match against Menace, back in May 2021. The two giants give it all they’ve got for 20 minutes, and the crowd loves it, despite the action itself being mediocre. Being over will do that… Menace gets to look strong for most of the bout, and it all ends when Punisher catches him with the Big Crane Kick, and gets the pin. Punisher lifts his belt and the crowd is glad to see the babyface veteran retain once more. Winner, and still UEW World Champion: Punisher Paul Hughes. - As the show reaches its final, Ali Bloxsome lets us know Menace will be getting ANOTHER shot at Marcello Ricci next month, while Hughes will defend against the Stone Cold Killer, Konrad Makinen, and Cub & Don will be challenging Brecher & Grimm for the tag titles once again! - Show stats: - Rating: 52. - Viewership: 24 278. - MOTN: Leve vs. Makinen II – 71. - Next day, the second ELPF event of the year took place, ELPF Another Attempt in Caen, France! Cage match: Stuart Wilson vs. Bas Hagen - We’re live in Bremen, with Mark Stanford & Dougie Horwood, and the small arena is packed with fans that seem to be glad to be getting some good ol’ EWA sports entertainment, despite the fact that stars like Mallory & Gandalfini are not expected to wrestle tonight. The commentary duo talk about the way The Rulers insert themselves into whatever title picture they desire, but also about the fact that we’ll get to see Zofia Jankovic defending her title against Cassie O’Peter, in a steel cage! - Match #1 - Steel Cage: Stuart Wilson vs. Bas Hagen <img src=https://imgur.com/exgVgAT.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/pS7ViNr.png> The fans get excited when they see the steel cage lowering down, but are indifferent when they see it’s Stuart Wilson & Bas Hagen who come out to wrestle in it. They put on a boring 8 minutes match where Stuart looked sloppy and Hagen did not looked like the experienced wrestler he is, and duh, if the rumors about Bas Hagen getting a push are real, the EWA fans are in for some underwhelming moments. Hagen finished Wilson off with his Full Nelson finisher, forcing Wilson into submission. Winner: Bas Hagen. - Match #2 – Hammer & Anvil (Ulf Horst & Niklas Kramer) vs. Overkill (Demolition Drebin & Dylan Drama) vs. Michael Gregory & Ferdinand Arneaux <img src=https://imgur.com/Oa3UpEW.png><img src=https://imgur.com/TWElJ3P.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/rhSB9FE.png><img src=https://imgur.com/ETzJTY4.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/eJCHl7T.png><img src=https://imgur.com/9OpBAAu.png> Well, this is pretty much the battle of low midcard teams that don’t have much to do, and Overkill is the only team that gets any kind of reaction out of the Bremen crowd, as the odd pairing does have a fun aura around them. Michael Gregory will team up with Arneaux, as Bam Bam will team up with the Nigerian Hit Squad later tonight. They get a decent 8 minutes, and Michael Gregory, the most experienced man in the match, does a good job of coordinating the bulk of the match. Dylan & Drebin get their moments in the spotlight, as Dylan’s selling is as dramatic as always, and he gets overly excited as Drebin runs wild. But the match ends with the more experienced heel, Michael Gregory, hitting the Overpower Slam on Niklas Kramer, as Arneaux ensures no one breaks the pin. It was a decent match, that tried to wake the crowd up and had a few good moments. Winners: Gregory & Arneaux. - Petey Barnes interview <img src=https://imgur.com/0XbTbaH.png> <img src=https://imgur.com/L51bsM6.png> We get taken to the backstage area, where next to Dougie Horwood, it’s the beloved Future X member Petey Barnes. DH: Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here with Petey Barnes! Petey, you’re a true flagbearer of this company, but you’ve had a rough start to 2022, losing all your 3 matches, even tho all of them were against tip top opposition. Still, how do you reflect on your recent losses? PB: Dougie, I’ve been having some horrible weeks.. My last win was almost 2 months ago, and my last 1 on 1 win was.. Good Lord, it was back when I was still the Intercontinental champion all the way back to October.. So how do I reflect on these losses? I dream of myself being Universal champion, Dougie! But right now, I’m not anywhere near that picture, and it seems that fool of a champion we have is “on vacation”, so I’m turning my cannon towards that cheating prick that’s been holding the Intercontinental championship for the past few months! DH: Well, Paolo Gandalfini had pretty much laid out his plan and fulfilled it in recent weeks. Do you think that now he may be less focused, in the following weeks? PB: No chance, Dougie. He’s a slick one, he likes to pretend it’s all about champagne, aesthetics and such, but I’m a veteran, and I know it when I see it – Gandalfini cares about the title and his matches more than he shows. If he isn’t completely focused on the task at hand, he’d rather miss a payday and not show up. I’m under no illusions. I need to work hard to make my way back to another shot at him, and when I get it, no less than my best will be enough. DH: Well could your path to another Intercontinental title match start tonight, against Crusher Von Steinberg? PB: You bet your pretty hat, Dougie. Especially now that there’s no Mallory to stick his tail in. Here’s a promise: I will not stop chasing the Intercontinental championship, as long as Gandalfini has it. I’m tired of his attitude, I’m tired disrespect, I’m tired of his antics. Paolo, I know you’re watching this. Not only do I swear to you we’ll rematch, I also swear to you one more thing. That championship belt that you get to carry all day long with you, it will be mine. Sooner rather than later. - Match #3 – Gypsy Rose vs. Maisie Laurels <img src=https://imgur.com/hNRoWGx.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/1OiFKyX.png> This is Rose’s first singles match after losing her title, and the crowd is still behind her as she dances to the ring. Amazin’ Maisie is still on quite a roll, undefeated since her last 1 on 1 match with Rose, back in October 2021. They put on a pretty forgettable match with a few rough spots, as neither performer seems to be trying hard tonight. The match ends when Maisie hits her Running Flying Elbow, after 7 minutes. Winner: Maisie Laurels. - Match #4 – Christopher Lister & The Globetrotters (Eugen Samper & Jason Dempsey) w/ Krystyna vs. Bam Bam Johansson & The Nigerian Hit Squad (Rahabad & Rashid Lawal) <img src=https://imgur.com/7jTnDI0.png><img src=https://imgur.com/MNF6fUU.png><img src=https://imgur.com/O5k5cqF.png> w/ <img src=https://imgur.com/FxvGB8B.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/WDNYLl2.png><img src=https://imgur.com/qybNbnt.png><img src=https://imgur.com/t41IVFS.png> Lister has been fairly successful in 6 man tag team matches recently, and he’ll look to keep this trend going, as he’s coming off a win along the Gobetrotters just a night before. The declining Bam Bam Johnasson is tagging along fellow aging talents, in the Nigerian Hit Squad. The guys get 11 minutes and do just enough to get the crowd fairly interested in the match, with Lister & Dempsey carrying the match in terms of in-ring performance. Rashid Lawal is looking more and more broken down by the day, sadly. The match ended with Dempsey pinning Rashid after hitting the Rabid Bulldog (Jump from the from the 2nd rope into a bulldog). Winners: Lister & The Globetrotters. - Match #5 – Eric Future vs. Magnus Cage <img src=https://imgur.com/MksU8We.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/fU3gJzD.png> “The Man Of Tomorrow” Eric Future is finally getting his first 1 on 1 match in the last 3 months, after his recent IC title bout turned into a fatal four way on short notice. The crowd is behind him, as expected. Magnus Cage will definitely look he to prove he can offer a good match with the right partner, as he’s usually working 1 on 1 matches facing either fellow midcarders of lower midcard talents. While Magnus didn’t have a breakout performance by any means, he did have one of his better 1 on 1 offerings, which must be pleasing for Byron and the other EWA higher ups. They got 7 minutes and did just fine with them, offering a decent match that ended with Eric Future countering Cage’s Overblown Trumpet with a super kick to the hand, following up with a super kick to the head and finishing things off with his Shooting Star Press. Winner: Eric Future. - Match #6 – Steel Cage for the EWA Women’s Championship – © Zofia Jankovic vs. Cassie O’Peter <img src=https://imgur.com/Di1uBVI.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/nSxTG2B.png> Cassie O’Peter has literally lost all her matches this year, but she’s never been pinned n’or submitted and she seems to have a bone to pick with the champion, so this will have to do. Zofia’s specialty is the cage match, despite it being extra hard for her to beat Gypsy Rose inside it. Now that she’s champion, she gladly invited Cassie to challenge her, after Cassie snapped and got DQ’d attacking her on the last episode of Weekly Warfare. Well, Cassie tries her best to make herself feel like a believable challenger, but it’s just not there. We all know Zofia’s winning this, and while the in-ring action is pretty good (mostly because Zofia is awesome), the crowd doesn’t seem to care about this bout too much. Still, Zofia acts like a pro and looks great as she finishes Cassie off with the Widowmaker Kick (Dragon Kick), after 9 minutes of action. Winner, and still EWA Women’s Champion: Zofia Jankovic. - Match #7 – Petey Barnes vs. Crusher Von Steinberg w/ Colossal Karl <img src=https://imgur.com/L51bsM6.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/a6lsBph.png> w/ <img src=https://imgur.com/3LV0ipS.png> Petey’s one of the most over acts around, as he should. The crowd cheers loudly when he appears. Crusher comes out with Colossal Karl, but Landon’s nowhere to be seen. After Crusher enters the ring, we see Mallory on the big screen! He seems to be in a hotel room somewhere. Landon: Hey, Crusher! Remember, that Petey guy is just some dude off the street playin’ wrestlah, just demolish him quickly! Also, remember, if enemy grab rope, Crush let go! Crusher, mumbling to himself: Grab rope, let go, yes... Landon dissapears off the screen and the action begins. Barnes and Crusher put on a truly good match, that would be received well just as well in places like Japan or the US too! Obviously, Crusher dominates for most of the match, making Petey work hard for everything he gets in. Petey sells his ass off, as expected. 12 minutes in, Crusher finally catches Petey in the Mind Crusher (Iron Claw), but Petey manages to grab the rope and Karl reminds him to let go. The ending sequence sees Petey hit a running low dropkick to Crusher, getting him down on one knee, and then finishing him off with the X-Cutter (Natural Selection) and a quick Moonsault for good measure. The crowd pops loudly and applauds Petey, who put on a very enjoyable 15 minutes match. Winner: Petey Barnes. - Match #8 – For the EWA Tag Team Titles: © The Rulers (Byron & Kruge The Executioner) vs. The Addams Family (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams) <img src=https://imgur.com/u9lIYwb.png><img src=https://imgur.com/MgJd2Yu.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/BtohOR4.png><img src=https://imgur.com/sirMh5r.png> The Addams Family were close to winning the titles at the last special, New Year Smash, and have since defeated the Masters of Evil and Overkill, but also lost a 3-man tag where Kruge teamed up with the NHS. Sadly, everyone in the arena knows damn well they ain’t winning this, but there are hopes of them putting a pretty good match. The Rulers sure know how to ensure they are despised, as the crowd boos heavily as they enter the ring. Well, these are 11 pretty unspectacular minutes. Byron relies too much on his taunts, Kalvin Addams seems off, Jimmi’s hardly at his best, and Kruge can’t do everything by himself, can he? It’s a decent match, but it definitely lacked the main event feeling they hoped to achieve, and on a card filled with forgettable matches, this was just more of the same. A pretty disappointing showing, overall. The match ends with Kalvin getting Beheaded (head stomped) by Kruge. It’s hard to say if the fans are booing out of disappointment at the show, or because they hate The Rulers. Winners, and still EWA Tag Team champions: The Rulers. - As the show ends, Mark Stanford lets us know that next week, Weekly Warfare is heading to Vienna, where Petey Barnes will be facing The Witch Doctor, and Gandalfini & Byron will have a face off to clean the air between them! - Show stats: - Show rating: 48. - Viewership: 47 864. - MOTN: Barnes vs. Crusher – 60. - And let’s not forget about the final show we have this week! The last time they had a profitable month was June 2021. - UEW Things are looking pretty bad for the UEW, as they keep losing money, losing about three thousands dollars in January. The good part is that ticket and merchandise sales continue to raise, while the costs remain pretty constant, so if these trends continue, the losses should come to an end soon. - Newsflash! In the morning of EWA Weekly Warfare #29 show, Paolo Gandalfini and Eric Future received some pretty unpleasant news: their match will now be a fatal four way, and they don’t get to find out who the new opponents are until they get to the ring! - Now, onto the show! Gregory & Bam Bam Johansson are as cold as they’ve been, lately. They put on a decent, although forgettable 10 minutes match, mostly carried by Dempsey and Gregory. It’s nice to see Gregory working hard despite not being given much to work with in the EWA. The match ends when Dempsey hits his Rabid Bulldog (Jumping from the from the 2nd rope into a bulldog) finisher on big Bam Bam, who was to tired to defend. Still, she lost a cage match to Maisie, although even then, Maisie won by escaping, not by pinfall. Zofia has been having fun, having already pinned Serena Ventura once 3 weeks ago, and Gipsy Rose 2 weeks ago, in tag matches that also involved Cassie. Predictably, Cassie and Zofia carry most of this match too, as they did in their previous tag meetings. This time, tho, Cassie herself is tired of watching Zofia tear her partners apart, and she finally snaps – as Zofia hits the Widowmaker Kick on Ventura and goes for the pin, Cassie jumps in and doesn’t just break the pin, but keeps striking Zofia with lots of punches. The ref can’t take Cassie off Zofia, so he’s forced to end the match by DQ. It was a decent 6 minutes match. As more refs come to hold Cassie apart from Zofia, Zofia is walking towards the back, smiling. Zofia lets Cassie know she can join her in the cage tomorrow, if she’s feeling up for it. It should be a nice match! Winners: Zofia & Maisie (by DQ). - Match #3 – Double Dutch (Frankie Van Heer & Henrick Van Bon) vs. Masters of Evil (EWA Universal Champion Landon Mallory & Crusher Von Steinburg) w/ Colossal Karl <img src=https://imgur.com/cYjuLXj.png><img src=https://imgur.com/yWVWpYt.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/GjrXCDY.png><img src=https://imgur.com/a6lsBph.png> w/ <img src=https://imgur.com/3LV0ipS.png> Double Dutch seem to be even more over now that they’ve been screwed out of their title, and they find themselves opposing what’s likely the most dangerous duo in all of EWA. Meanwhile Masters of Evil feel more hated than ever, mostly because they feel more in control of EWA than ever, as Landon can seemingly just decide he won’t defend his belt. They gave a good TV match that kept the crowd engaged for the whole 12 minutes, with Landon making everything he did feel important, as he usually does. The match ended when, after Crusher cleaned house, Landon tagged himself in and finished HVB off with the New Level (Paydirt). After the match, Landon, again, says something about going on vacation! Is the EWA Universal champion really going to take time off? Winners. Masters of Evil. - Match #4 – For the EWA Intercontinental Championship: © Paolo Gandalfini vs. Eric Future vs. ??? vs. ??? <img src=https://imgur.com/D2hnWyJ.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/MksU8We.png> vs. ??? vs. ??? Well, this should be interesting. Eric Future comes out to a decent reaction. Barnes and Lister come out with him on the ramp, but Eric sends them backstage and runs to the ring by himself. Paolo Gandalfini, the champion, comes out next, and he goes through his poses like usually, looking pretty unaffected by the fact that two more men will soon join the match. We get a good 30 seconds of no music and suspense, when finally, music hits the speakers and… Gah damn it, IT’S THE RULERS! <img src=https://imgur.com/u9lIYwb.png> <img src=https://imgur.com/MgJd2Yu.png> The crowd explodes in heat, as instead of a pair of exciting debuts or returns, they get the same old Byron, along with his biggest muscle, Kruge. Eric Future doesn’t have much of a reaction, but Gandalfini starts laughing! “It’s a great challenge, boss, and it’s a damn smart one too, I’ll give you that!”. Well, dang. Obviously, the first minute of the match sees the three heels gang up on Eric Future. Also obviously, Gandalfini tries to weasel himself out when he realizes he’s left in the ring with Byron and Kruge, but Kruge drags him into a clothesline, and The Rulers tee of on him. Eventually, Future & Paolo realize they have to unite their forces if they want to stand a chance, and a good chunk of this match is basically a Paolo & Future vs. The Rulers tornado match. 12 minutes in, Future was about to roll up Byron with an Okada Roll, but Kruge breaks the pin by hitting The Beheading stomp on Future. Just as Kruge was trying to drag Byron on top of Future, Paolo hits him with a kick to the jewels, just like he did at New Year Smash, and he throws him out the ring. Paolo then grabs Byron, who was still groggy, and gently pushes him out of the ring, telling him “I’m sorry, but you ain’t winning this, capo”. Byron tries to get back in the ring, but Paolo goes “Aw, come on” and just punches him off the apron. He then lifts Future up for the Chokeslam, covers him, and retains in what was an enjoyable TV main event. The match went for 13 minutes, and it showed great entertainment. The crowd cheers as Hercules Johansson the man who ended the reign of the most dominant heel in the company, Cub Balowicz, enters the ring with a mic in his hand. Hercules: “You know… A year ago, I was in a very different position than the one you see me in right now. I was working as hard as I always did, but things were not coming my way. I had lost my last 6 matches, and when I won, they were some stupid DQ wins that I could hardly be proud of. Then I left the place where I first had my breakthrough in wrestling. I hit the independent shows… I saw fans that were feeling lucky to see me, I got a few wins, I got my confidence back, and all of a sudden, I was Hercules again. I felt mighty. I felt as I should feel.” The crowd cheers despite Hercules not being the greatest promo around. Hercules: “And I started looking for a mountain to climb and claim. And when I saw Cub Balowicz tearing his way through the best of what the VWA has to offer, I knew that was the challenge I had to take. He was knocking people out cold, left and right. It looked like getting booked to fight Cub was getting booked to go from the ring straight to the hospital, and eventually lose some months off your life. But I didn’t care. What I cared about was the glory, I wanted the glory, I wanted the prestige, I wanted to be called “champion”, and I wanted to be regarded as the man on the top of the mountain. And now, you all know who I am…” The crowd gets a “Champion Herc” chant going, a chant that’s been popular at VWA shows since Hercules won the belt. Hercules: “And tonight, Cub thinks he’s getting this back”, Herc says as he raises up the VWA European championship. “Cub Balowicz, you’re a tough man, and no one can deny that. But keep one thing in mind. Your last reign lasted for over a year. Since you won this belt in August 2020, there’s only ONE man who managed to put your shoulders down to the canvas, and keep them there for a count of three. That man was ME, and I DID it TWICE! And if you think the third time’s the charm, you’re in for a lot of harm, my friend!” Hercules tosses the mic to someone from the ringside crew and leaves the ring to a good reaction from the crowd. - Match #1 – Lothar Prime vs. Quake w/ Beth Bilal <img src=https://imgur.com/IdVfrFU.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/IQwQ04q.png> w/ <img src=https://imgur.com/4gEOltY.png> Lothar Prime left the EWA around the same time as Bret Heartbreak and got picked up by the VWA around the same time too. After a full year with the company, he’s turned out to be a decent midcarder, and hopes are pretty high for him, as he’s got potential to be a breakout star in a year or two. Half of the 6 wins he collected throughout last year were in 1 on 1 matches against Quake. Quake is a big man who’s still trying to find his footing in the ring, despite being with the VWA for 3 years. He’s only 23 years old, but some are suggesting the VWA higher ups are losing their patience with him, as he looks like a perfect old-school monster, but only won 4 matches in the last 2 years, including a run with the tag titles along Giancarlo Cabroni, that no one understood, since they held the titles only so The Bern Boys could win them back. Beth Bilal is Quake’s manager and “The Brain behind The Behemoth”, but she ain’t getting him many victories… The youngsters get to go for 8 minutes, and the growth of them both is visible, as it’s obviously their best match yet and Quake finally doesn’t look like he can carry himself properly in the ring. Lothar manages to outsmart Quake and get him tired by escaping and dodging most of his offense in the last minutes of the match, and he ends it with an impressive Prime Time Fall (similar to Hiroyoshi Tenzan’s TTD), and the crowd surely was impressed with this great feat of strength. Prime now 4-0 against Quake, and Beth can’t be happy with this. Winner: Lothar Prime. - Match #2 – For the VWA Tag Team Championships – © Total Eclipse (Bret Heartbreak & Wild Child) vs. Jasper January & Ultra Fly <img src=https://imgur.com/hdw90zB.png><img src=https://imgur.com/WOJYDpv.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/9Eg9ZVK.png><img src=https://imgur.com/sQkyCxt.png> Bret & Wild Child first tagged in Bret’s second ever VWA match, last year, and it was tag chemistry at first sight, as they defeated Lothar Prime & Jasper January. Two shows later, they were winning the tag titles off The Bern Boys as Total Eclipse, and they beat the Bern Boys in the rematch too. Who would have thought Bret’s first title reign would be in the company that he’s father’s EWA is at war with? Also, Bret is the star of the group, and it’s visible by a mile. Jasper January is an old school face with some pretty cooled momentum *ba dum tss*. He’s a perfectly fine midcard act, and it doesn’t look like he’ll become anything more than that. Also, Jasper has some legit heat with Wild Child, as mister Child said some pretty nasty thigns about Jasper on social media last summer. Ultra Fly is a spectacular high flier and one of Europe’s ultimate risk takers, who’s also spent 2 years in the 21CW early in his career. Now, like Jasper, he’s a solid midcarder and not likely to become more than that anytime soon, since his style of wrestling doesn’t do much good for his longevity. At least he stayed injury free in the last 2 years. Wild Child and Jasper start, as expected, and they go wild on one another, brawling hard and forgetting about their high flying arsenals early on. Eventually the match starts going as expected, with the champions working the babyfaces and on working on Jasper’s left hand until Ultra Fly gets the hot tag. The hot tag goes over well with the crowd, as Ultra Fly’s spectacular offense is as exciting as always. Sadly, all it takes is one dodged Fly By (Ultra Fly’s no hands somersault plancha over the turnbuckle to the outside), and the night soon ends, as Wild Child gets Fly back in the ring, and the champs hit their Wild Night Stand finisher (Pendulum Backbreaker by Bret + jumping double stomp to the chest by Wild Child), Bret gets the pin, and the champs retain. They get a pretty good pop despite being heels, since it’s hard to not be cool when you’re an outlaw son and also a good wrestler. The match was 12 minutes and decent, altho’ some of Wild Child’s offense lacked its usual impact. Winners, and still VWA Tag Team Champions: Total Eclipse . - Match #3 – Merle O’Curle & The Bern Boys (Fabian Schwarz & Hans Piccard) vs. Giancarlo Cabroni and (Lars) Brecher & (Ralph) Grimm <img src=https://imgur.com/868586F.png><img src=https://imgur.com/PoDj2mi.png><img src=https://imgur.com/cE0jd9G.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/konIB4M.png><img src=https://imgur.com/If0cDnB.png><img src=https://imgur.com/TuvSIP3.png> 44yo veteran Merle O’Curle remains a good technical veteran who can force anyone into having a decent match and may even had one more title run in him, despite never holding gold in the 4 years he spent with the VWA. The Bern Boys remain the only Swiss wrestlers around, and their development is still taking time. Hans has been pretty underwhelming, but Fabian hasn’t looked much better. Still, they make for a decent midcard act, and we’ll see if they do go on to become the top guys that they can be. Giancarlo Cabroni has been doing pretty well since the break up between Team Italia and Lauro Giordano, in May 2020. “The Milan Masterpiece” is an alright worker who’s rumored to be in for a push in 2022. Brecher has been wrestling with the VWA since March of last year, and has been a pretty strong midcarder, but only now is his partner, Ralph Grimm, making his VWA debut. Brecher & Grimm get to come in wearing their UEW Tag Team titles. The heel team gets some decent heat out of the crowd during their entrance, with Brecher standing out as the biggest douche, as he spills a fans drink while walking down the ramp. They get 10 minutes, which is enough for everyone to show what they’ve got. The older wrestlers have to guide the young Bern Boys through most of the match, but everyone involved seems to have good chemistry and pull of a decent showing. The match ends when Brecher & Grimm lock in the Munich Crunch on Fabian Schwarz and Giancarlo clotheslines both Merle & Piccard off the apron. Schwarz taps, and Grimm looks happy with the first impression he has made to the VWA fans. Winners: Giancarlo Cabroni and Brecher & Grimm. - Match #4 – Randy Haute vs. Pavel Vanzycha <img src=https://imgur.com/52TU7qZ.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/xjIQhDz.png> After starting The It Crowd in 2020, with Night Spyder and Lauro Giordano, Randy realized it’s time to go back to putting the younger guys over in 2021. Randy is as beloved as always by the European fans, and he has some momentum, as he’s coming off 3 wins. Pavel Vanzycha has been on a hiatus from July 2020 to May 2021, and to ensure the fans don’t cheer when they see his back, he attacked the celebrating Bern Boys right on his firt night back. As always, he’s a solid midcard act, but we don’t know if he’ll be getting a breakout run anytime soon. The two grapplers get 9 minutes, and they spent about 8 of them grappling on the floor, which is both of their specialty. Sadly, it just didn’t flow nice enough, and they lacked the drama to elevate the match out of “decent, forgettable” tier. If anything, this match gave the crowd a break so they could get hot for the bigger attractions. The match ended when Randy found a way to reverse a bulldog attempt into his American Armbreaker, and Pavel tapped quickly. Winner: Randy Haute. - Match #5 – The It Crowd (Lauro Giordano & Night Spyder) vs. Thunderbolt & Abominable Snowman <img src=https://imgur.com/mwygWjw.png><img src=https://imgur.com/ICZ7vOe.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/VnKlauS.png><img src=https://imgur.com/KpkHsgw.png> The It Crowd is a group of easy to like babyface buddies that started when Night Spyder convinced Lauro Giordano to become a nice guy. United by the fact they both believe to have the “it” factor, they tried to prove to head booker Randy Haute they all have “it”, and so they formed the now beloved It Crowd stable. Sadly, nowadays, Lauro is a lower midcarder, but he has been building up a feud with VWA Swiss champion Matthew Macks on social media during the winter break. Spyder ain’t doing much better, as they rarely win over major acts. The It Crowd is mostly a stable that’s there to make the heels get over and get the fans to hope they actually might prove they have “it” at some point. Thunderbolt turned heel a year ago, and he even had a tag team with Lars Brecher before Grimm’s VWA debut. He’s been a constant thorn in The It Crowd’s side for the better part of last year, and it looks like he won’t stop until the faces accept that they just don’t have “it”. Snowman is as awesome as ever, a giant that works pretty well for his size, and a constant present in the upper midcard scene, who can easily put over any face European champion. Lauro and Thunderbolt start, as Lauro feels forced to prove that he has “it”. Both guys go back and forth in spectacular exchanges, and the crowd eats of out Lauro’s hands, while Thunderbolt’s hands focus more on beating Lauro. Sadly, Lauro’s wrestling itself ain’t great tonight, as he makes a bunch of small botches, but thankfully, the heels are on point and fill in well, taunting instead of selling when Lauro misses his offense, and making sure every chop sounds as hard as possible. The ending sees VWA Swiss champion Matthew Macks come in and distracting the ref, allowing Thunderbolt to hit a super kick and his Thunder Driver finisher on Lauro, to end the match. The guys got a good 12 minutes, and delivered what was, to this point, the most enjoyable match of the night. After the match, as Macks was mocking Lauro, Spyder runs toward him and Macks legs it out of the arena. Spyder then comes back to help Lauro recollect himself. Winners: Thunderbolt & Abominable Snowman. - Match #6 – For the VWA European Championship: © Hercules Johansson vs. Cub Balowicz <img src=https://imgur.com/gvvtV0Z.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/iZpQOiM.png> Cub makes his way and he’s looking as a legit as possible, with a nice dark jacket, the hood on, and a bunch of boos that he ignores as he walks up to the ring. He’s practicing his killer left hook, and he’s lookin’ as game as always. In his most recent VWA match, Cub KO’ed Lauro Giordano. Hercules Johansson is coming to a loud ovation. The world is ready, let’s get to the main event. Cub runs in with the left hook right away, but Herc blocks it and headbutts Cub, as the crowd pops and Cub looks in disbelief. Cub gets up and tries to strike again, but after two missed punches, Herc counters with a kick to the body, goes for a power bomb, but Cub escapes and gets of the ring to earn himself some time to come up with a better plan (or maybe just to piss of Herc). Cub keeps going out of the ring as soon as things don’t go his way, and eventually Herc gets mad and follows him, and it backfires when Herc runs shoulder first into the stairs. From that point, Cub sets his eyes on Herc’s right shoulder, kicking it, pressuring it with submissions and trying to make Herc hurt it by using his momentum against him. Still, despite everything, Cub keeps blocking Cub’s left hook attempts throughout the match with his right hand. But 14 minutes in, Herc’s right shoulder is finally hurt enough that he can’t lift his hand to block, and Cub hits the Left Hook right on the chin. The problem for him is, then, that Herc falls through the ropes, all the way down to the floor. Cub’s a big strong man, the problem is that Herc is bigger by about 60-70lbs of muscle, so getting him back in the ring was a struggle. He doesn’t even waste time going for the pin since he knows it’s too late, he gets Herc in the Fireman’s Carry position, likely looking for the Necksnap Drop (Neckbreaker from firemen’s carry), but Herc manages to get out and take him down with another headbutt. It takes them both a while to get up, and when they do, Cub tries the Left Hook again, but Herc ducks under, grabs Cub lifts him as if for an Alabama Slam, but instead of having his legs rest on his shoulders, they are in the air, as he basically holds his hands straight up. He hits the damn Mighty Slam (basically an Alabama Slam, but Herc holds the opponent by the ankles, with his hands straight up), he falls on top of Cub for the three count, and it’s over! This might have been Herc’s best 1 on 1 match ever, and while that ain’t saying much, it’s a great thing for himself and the VWA. 16 minutes, good drama and pretty good action, Hercules is now THREE TO O AGAINST CUB BALOWICZ! Winner, and still VWA European champion: Hercules Johansson. - As the show ends, Dick Kerley runs down the matches that have been confirmed for next months VWA Budapest 2022: Bret Heartbreak will team up with Team Italia to take on Jasper January & Despair Faction; Brecher & Grimm will fight Lauro & Night Spyder of The It Crowd; and Hercules will be defending his title against The Abominable Snowman, once again! - Show stats: - Rating: 56. - Viewership: 25 452. - MOTN: Johansson vs. Balowicz – 58. - As for next week, we got another busy week incoming, with 3 shows on the menu! Hammer & Anvil are already ringside. Mark Stanford & Dougie Horwood talk about tonight’s huge card, hyping the title matches and especially Byron’s return. - Match #1 – Hammer & Anvil (Ulf Horst & Niklas Kremer) vs. Ferdinand Arneaux & Michael Gregory <img src=https://imgur.com/Oa3UpEW.png><img src=https://imgur.com/TWElJ3P.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/9OpBAAu.png><img src=https://imgur.com/eJCHl7T.png> Hammer & Anvil are a babyface team of hard working, no-nonsense grapplers who are still in their first years in the business, and still pay they dues. They are yet to have a proper decent match in EWA, and they only had 1 win in their 2 years with the company, but make no mistake, Byron has high hopes for these youngsters. As mentioned before, Arneaux is a decent midcarder that lacks momentum as of now, while Gregory is yet to properly find his footing in EWA since coming over from the Swiss rivals, VWA, finding himself in a similar position to Arneaux and his regular partner, Bam Johansson, floating around the midcard. The match is a pretty sub-par squash, as Hammer & Anvil barely get any offense in, as the heels decimate them. It ends after 4 minutes, when Michael Gregory hits his Overpower Slam finisher on Ulf Horst and gets the pin. Winners: Ferdinand Arneaux & Michael Gregory. - Masters of Evil meet in the Throne Room <img src=https://imgur.com/GjrXCDY.png> <img src=https://imgur.com/a6lsBph.png> <img src=https://imgur.com/3LV0ipS.png> The camera cuts backstage, to what we’ve been told is the MoE’s Throne Room. Landon Mallory is walking angrily around his throne, holding a kendo stick. The camera pans out and we can see Crusher Von Steinberg, who bears bruises, presumably made with the kendo stick that Landon’s holding. Colossal Karl is also in the room. LM: What have we learned in these past few days, Sir Von Steinberg? Crusher: Win or lose, we not lose… We must win… Enemy hold rope, me must let go.. LM: You’re such a great student, my friend! Karl! You’d do good to keep your brain healthy, I like students that don’t need me to bruise them to learn the lessons I teach. Karl: I’ll do my best, sir. Thank you for your leadership. LM: It’s my pleasure, you stud! NOW! Crusher, big man, in order to make sure you’ve understood all that I thought you, we will be engaging ourselves in some good old tag team wrestling, you and me! Maybe we’ll even go on a tag titles run! After all, I blessed these unthankful peasants enough with my 1 on 1 greatness, let’s mix things up! The camera pans out. - Match #2 – Steel Cage match: Cassie O’Peter vs. Maisie Laurels <img src=https://imgur.com/nSxTG2B.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/1OiFKyX.png> Why are these two fighting in a Steel Cage, you might wonder? Probably because the cage costed some decent money and Byron wants a return on his investment. Still, weird choice of contestants. Cassie is being positioned to make a splash, as she’s been often sharing the ring with champion Zofia Jankovic in recent weeks. Maisie, on the other hand, has not lost a match since early October 2021, and she’ll tell that to everyone who’ll listen. So it’s interesting to see who goes higher up the ladder here. These two pretty good wrestlers put on a pretty disappointing match. They go back and forth for 6 minutes, and the match ends when Maisie escapes the cage after Cassie misses a splash off the top rope. Underwhelming, and definitely not warranted a steel cage. Winner: Maisie Laurels by escaping the cage. - Double Dutch come out to address the title match <img src=https://imgur.com/cYjuLXj.png> <img src=https://imgur.com/yWVWpYt.png> The smallest male wrestlers in the EWA, Frank Van Heer and Henrick Van Bon come out to a great ovation. They interact to the fans on their way to the ring, hop in and demand a pair of microphones. HVB: Now, we’ll go straight to the point. The owner of the company has been standing back and preparing, while other teams have been busting their asses around the continent, and now he’s put himself and his goon in a title match, over the likes of Addams Family, over the likes of The Nigerian Hit Squad, and even over the likes of the awful but worthy Masters of Evil. What y’all think about that? The crowd boos loudly. FVH: Byron, you big dum… <img src=https://imgur.com/u9lIYwb.png> <img src=https://imgur.com/MgJd2Yu.png> Before Frank can say what’s on his heart, the music of The Rulers interrupts him, as Byron and Kruge arrive. Byron is waving to the crowd as if he’s Francis Ngannou arriving to Cameroon. Byron: Good evening Germany, good evening Munich! The German crowd obviously boos. Byron: It’s lovely to know I’ve been missed! Sadly, during these last weeks, I’ve been busy ensuring the EWA continues it’s amazing growth, and ensuring other talented wrestlers get the opportunities they are due. As you all know I just hate hogging the spotlight from the up and comers! FVH: You’ve been hiding like a worm, Byron! The crowd seems to agree with Frank. Byron: Henrick, keep your goon’s mouth in check when the vets talk, please. Kruge: Yea, shut up goon! HVB: Cut the silliness, Byron, me and Frank are equals and comrades for life, the only goon around here is Kruge The Executioner! Kruge is about to go to the ring, but Byron holds him back. Byron: How inadequate to call my respectable friend a goon! Anyway, allow me to get to my point. You see, Double Dutch, when’s the last time that YOU wrestled? Let me check on EWAEntertainment.com… oh, it was on the same night as my most recent match! Well, well, well, aren’t you being hypocritical? While I was pushing mountains and fighting hurricanes for the good of the company, you’ve declined all the matches I’ve been proposing for you lately… HVB: Cut it, Byron! We’ve been calling you and the booking team all month looking for some action, we even travelled to the shows despite not having anything booked! Byron: Don’t listen to their lies, good people! After all, here are the facts that are certain: you’ve had the exact same time to prepare for our match as I did! And Kruge, my dear friend, has been working his muscles off in this very ring, on a weekly basis, gaining wear and tear! And don’t I deserve a Tag Titles rematch, since at New Year Smash I didn’t get to have my dear Kruge with me? HVB: Frank dropkicked you through a table as clean as possible, and you spent the last weeks getting fake tan, Byron, you don’t deserve anything! Again, the German fans agree with the babyfaces. Byron: That was a cheap cheapshot, and the whole world saw it! Byron finally seems to have cracked, as his face goes red and he starts screaming. Byron: Whether you like it or not, TONIGHT, YOU HAVE A JOB TO DO! YOU DEFEND THOSE BELTS AGAINST ME AND KRUGE THE EXECUTIONER, AND IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT, JUST HANDLE US THE BELTS AND GET OVER WITH IT! The Rulers go to the back, in a choir of boos. - Match #3 – Jason Dempsey & The Addams Familiy (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams) w/ Krystyna vs. Magnus Cage & Overkill (Demolition Drebin & Dylan Drama) <img src=https://imgur.com/O5k5cqF.png><img src=https://imgur.com/BtohOR4.png><img src=https://imgur.com/sirMh5r.png> w/ <img src=https://imgur.com/FxvGB8B.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/fU3gJzD.png><img src=https://imgur.com/rhSB9FE.png><img src=https://imgur.com/ETzJTY4.png> You’re probably familiar with both Dempsey and The Addams Family team, but I forgot to properly introduce you Dempsey’s manager, the beautiful Krystyna. She’s Jason’s kayfabe girlfriend, mostly there to humanize his violent character. She’s definitely NOT just eye candy! Magnus Cage is still your easy to hate annoying midcard act, while Overkill have been tagging for a bit over a year. Both Overkill members are young up and comers with big potential, but Drebin seems to be booked stronger than his partner. It’s a decent short match that gets 5 minutes and does what it was supposed to, showcasing all six performers, with Jimmi Addams, Jason Dempsey and Magnus Cage impressing the crowd the most. The match ends when The Addams catch Drebin with the Family Meeting (Jumping running knees to the chest and the back). Jimmi got the pin, and the match was over. Winners: Jason Dempsey & The Addams Family. - Match #4 – Eric Future & Christopher Lister vs. Masters Of Evil (UEW Universal champion Landon Mallory & Crusher Von Steinberg) w/ Colossal Karl <img src=https://imgur.com/MksU8We.png><img src=https://imgur.com/7jTnDI0.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/GjrXCDY.png><img src=https://imgur.com/a6lsBph.png> w/ <img src=https://imgur.com/3LV0ipS.png> Future & Lister come out to a great reaction, as the crowd seems to love Lister’s association with the Future X members. Landon looks pretty confident that Crusher truly learned his lesson as they come to the ring. He whispers something into Karl’s ear before the match starts. They have a pretty good 9 minutes match. Crusher and Lister start the match, and Lister tries to be technical, but technique hardly works when your opponent is a 290lbs deranged piece of muscle. Crusher gets great heat from the crowd as he controls Lister with painful holds and violent slams. After 3 minutes of violence, Landon hops in, but Future gets in on the action himself. They have some great moments, as both Future and Landon flow beautifully, and Landon uses distractions from Karl to maintain control. 7 minutes in, Crusher is in a similar situation to last week, as he gets Chris Lister in the Mind Crusher, but Lister holds the ropes. Landon shouts at Crusher to stop, and Crusher reluctantly listens. Visibly mad, Crusher kicks Lister’s body and goes and tags in Landon, but again, Lister manages to tag in Future. The ending sequence sees Landon beating Future with his usual finishing sequence, getting the 1-2-3 after hitting the New Level (Paydirt). The crowd’s reaction is mixed, as they all dislike Landon’s shenanigans, but can’t help but appreciate his in ring performances. Winners: Masters of Evil. - Match #5 – For the EWA Tag Team Championships: © Double Dutch (Frank Van Heer & Henrick Van Bon) vs. The Rulers (Byron & Kruge The Executioner) <img src=https://imgur.com/cYjuLXj.png><img src=https://imgur.com/yWVWpYt.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/u9lIYwb.png><img src=https://imgur.com/MgJd2Yu.png> Double Dutch are small physically, and Van Heer is pretty skinny too, but that just adds to their underdog fire, as they are some of the most beloved underdogs the European scene has ever seen. The German crowd heavily riles behind them. The Rulers get the exact reaction you’d expect, a ton of boos, despite Byron’s face-ish poses. Kruge and Henrick start. As expected, there’s not much HVB can do to Kruge early on, because of the huge size discrepancy. The face tries to hit take out Kruge’s leg with kicks, but Kruge just marches on and punishes Henrick with big punches, double axes and slams. After 2 minutes, Kruge invites Frank to tag in. Frank hops in, and he initially does well, getting Kruge down with a drop kick and being competitive afterwards. Byron eventually tags in, and his heel shtick gets the crowd going crazy, as he toys with Frank’s with slams and painful submission holds. Military presses, body slams, backdrops, suplexes, all while flexing his tanned muscles, Byron makes the Munich crowd hate him. The heels cut the ring in half and torture Frank for a while, and Frank’s selling rallies the crowd. As traditon requires, he gets the hot tag, but Henrick’s burst doesn’t last long, as Byron rakes his eyes and gets slamming again. Still, Henrick manages to counter Byron’s clothesline attempt with an arm drag, and get some momentum again. But Kruge gets a blind tag and he comes with a big boot from behind. Henrick manages to counter Kruge’s Beheading attempt, but Byron gets in and stops Hernicks’s momentum. Trying to even the odds, Frank tries to get in, but the ref stops him and disciplines him. While the ref is busy, Byron grabs one of the titles and smashes Henrick in the head with it, Kruge hits The Beheading stomp, and it’s over! We have new champions! It was a pretty good 8 minutes match. The crowd boos frantically, and Frank Van Heer needs to be restrained so he doesn’t attack Byron in anger. It’s the first Tag Titles run for both heels, and they both look proud with their achievement. Winners, and new EWA Tag Team Champions: The Rulers. - Match #6 – For the EWA Intercontinental Championship: © Paolo Gandalfini vs. Petey Barnes <img src=https://imgur.com/D2hnWyJ.png> vs. <img src=https://imgur.com/L51bsM6.png> Petey Barnes has a look of great determination on his face, and since the good guys have been collecting a lot of Ls today, the crowd is extremely eager to see Petey come out on top. Paolo Gandalfini comes out as cocky as always, showing off his muscles and basking in the boos of the majority of the crowd, but also in the sweet eyes of some of the women in the audience that admire him. Both guys go all out in the short 6 minutes they get, wanting to make this feel like a proper main event despite the little time they get. Petey goes above and beyond to make Paolo feel like an unstoppable prick, while Paolo makes Petey work for every piece of offense he gets in, and the crowd gets excited every time Petey gets some momentum. Sadly for Pete, as the match reaches the 6th minute mark, they do the classic spot, Paolo rolls Petey up, and he defends his belt once again, attracting a wave of boos from the crowd. As Gandalfini lifts his hands and his belt to a choir of boos, an angered Petey Barnes hits a low blow kick behind, and hits his X-Cutter (Forward Somersault Cutter, similar to Charlotte’s Natural Selection).
