1. As a fellow 'old man' (although you make me feel a little younger as I am in my 40s) I have to say I have also fallen out of love with TEW with this new release. I don't know what it is really. I have posted previously saying the game felt clunky and it does. I just don't feel enthused to play it, even though I know that it is effectively the same objectives and method as TEW 2016 (Which I always loved). It is a shame because I grew up playing games and TEW is now probably one of the only 3 I regularly find time to dedicate to- I can't see it being one of the three in the future. I thought perhaps I had just not been in the mood to play originally so I returned to it a couple more times including with the Default database. I just don't enjoy it. Ironically with the introduction of new features intended to increase immersion I feel more conscious that I am playing a game than I ever did with TEW 2016.
2. The range means you have scouting enabled so don’t know the precise number. You can disable scouting in preferences if you want the precise numbers without needing to scout.
3. I have bought the game, because I really looked forward to it and I am trying to force myself to enjoy it more than '16 but having problems but will try and cover the bits I like as well as those I am not. Booking- I don't like the booking segment moving, it needs changing back to '16 model. The booking screen looks pretty rough now, that's an asthetic thing. The screens showing results are too basic, score looks basic. The ratings are odd and it is tricky to understand why segments have bombed when even the dirt sheet doesn't seem to explain it. Game World- Weirdly, the game world feels more alive and active, but my own part of the world (my promotion) feels disconnected from me. I have no idea why, it just doesn't feel like I have control over what is happening. Other companies compete much more effectively for workers and there is a real sense of competition, but too much of the internal stuff still feels very clunky. I also don't understand why I can still tell workers employed by other companies to go on steroids or change their styles. I am going to reluctantly go back to 2016. I really want to enjoy this version and I don't regret buying it because I want the series to be a success but I can't see myself getting in to 2020 like I did 2016 even though I am really trying.
4. To add my voice to this. This is the one remaining major issue with the game for me. Once this is remedied I would be okay with the UI but currently it is a pain.
5. Without wishing to stray off the topic- Sports Interactive have been brilliant at responding to their community for nearly 30 years. They are a bad example to use to show a company who are less responsive than Adam is. I don’t understand why each time issues are being raised (moving booking segments etc) people are coming along and posting saying how asking for these changes is unreasonable or naive. The UI was substandard. That was raised and accepted and it has been tweaked- it still isn’t a great UI but it’s fine. Certainly better than it was during the Beta. There are more changes that still should be made to improve it further and I don’t see anyone expecting a huge overhaul of the UI at this stage. However to suggest that anyone now raising issues should just accept that the game isn’t their cup of tea sounds as though you are suggesting they should keep quiet and make do. That is inconsistent with the point you are making about a company listening to and responding to feedback.
6. I understand why the booking arrows were changed. On paper is means you only click once to move a segment instead of twice (to highlight and then click button). However in spite of being a good idea on paper it actually doesn’t work well in practice. The idea was perfectly sound in principle. However it actually has the opposite effect of what was intended- it makes reordering segments *more* fiddly rather than less. It isn’t game breaking but it is a pain. And yes even if we say it takes 20 additional seconds to reorder, that’s twenty additional seconds every single show. Over the course of a months booking that becomes quite irritating. I hope it is amended in a patch because having not liked the UI at all initially I am willing to accept it now (albeit still not a fan) with just a couple of changes. This change and adding a ‘Tracking’ to cover all attributes on one screen which was an inexplicable removal from TEW 2016.
7. Agree 100%. This is a pain. Have you mentioned it on the suggestions board?
8. Maybe it’s just unfamiliarity but I cannot seem to warm to the game at the moment. I think I might in time but not the current version. It still feels quite cumbersome and I find clicking to go down lists of workers quite gruelling. I still expect to buy the game. I hope. But not on release day. It feels like a grind still- plus I am still enjoying 16.
9. Toxic is such a tired term, I am a bit bored of it being used as this first resort whenever someone disagrees with others opinions. People on here are customers. The thread invited people to feedback their views. People have done that. Some have been happy, some satisfied and some very unsatisfied. You seem to see the situation very differently when you refer to ‘entitlement’. This is a commercial product. If feedback for something you are being invited to purchase is invited and you do not think it’s worth your £35 then yes you absolutely are entitled to voice that- you are being invited to for goodness sake! This isn’t an open source product where it is being done for solely altruistic purposes. If it were then your criticism would have some validity. Adam will be grown up enough to recognise that whilst his games are a labour of love but equally that he makes an income from it and is serves nobody to sugar coat their opinions when being made aware of negatives gives him the chance to maximise his products appeal and thus sales of the game. Before the ‘new member’ rubbish begins again. I have played the game since the days of EWD and have enjoyed every iteration. Long since I stopped watching wrestling (a good decade ago) I have continued to enjoy the game. Each version has given me many hours of enjoyment. This version as it stands doesn’t seem likely to, I think many of those voicing that criticism are likely to in fact be the longest standing users of the game. People who do not post the forums because they starting playing as teenagers and are now have families and other commitments.
10.
Speaking only for myself. I found the UI difficult to work with to the point where I decided to leave it for now and return when there are some improvements. So in spite of playing since the EWR days, I couldn’t tell you much about which features are great and which need tweaking.

I know it’ll get improved so I’m not frothing at the mouth about it but right now I know my experience would be tainted by the UI so rather than try and force myself to play it I’m just waiting.

11. Won’t be buying on day one. UI a bit too clunky for me. Might look again when mods come out but having looked forward to the game I have been brought back down to Earth today. On the surface feels a step backwards.
