2020 TEW HALL OF FAME CEREMONY [TEW Arena is filled with fans and diary writers and wrestlers as tonight is the night of the TEW Hall of Fame Ceremony 2018. The cameras pan around the crowd, picking up such Hall-of-Famers as Monkeypox, Scapino1974 and Tristram from the very first HOF class, to Derek_B, MrCreative and Burning Hamster, Nobby_McDonald, plus many more. The crowd stirs a little bit as the host for tonight's proceedings steps up to the podium and clears his throat.] [Togg:] "Good evening people of the Grey Dog Community and welcome to the 2020 TEW Hall of Fame Ceremony. I am your host for this evening's festivities, Togg. Tonight, we are here to honor three creative minds on the GreyDogSoftware (planet) message board. These individuals have made long-lasting contributions to TEW. Tonight, they shall be immortalized into the Hall of Fame. In what has been a tightly contested battle to enter the presteigous Hall of Fame. So, let's get to the first inductee in no particular order... This inductee has been the driving force behind the mod “The Rockverse” having joined only joining the community 5 years ago in 2015, they have already made an impact in such a sort time. They have also been a part for the Creative community, creating Graphics for both TEW 2016 and 2020. Please give it up for our first Hall of Fame Inductee, hailing all the way from North Carolina… willr0ck. Here to Induct him here tonight is none other than Historian” [Historian:] The Grey Dog Software Hall of Fame is a place for content creators of all types. Writers, mod makers, artists -- anyone who has made a contribution to GDS and its games and its wonderful community. It is a hallowed place of luminaries such as The Final Countdown, ReapeR, BigPapa, Genadi, and James Casey. It features people who have excelled in different facets of the game and the boards but few have excelled in so many different facets. Tonight, we induct one of those men into the Hall of Fame. He's been a registered community member since 2015. In that time, he has created hundreds of renders, he has created company logos and belts, he released two mods -- one a mod specifically designed to add women to the database and one his own creation of fictional workers and a fictional universe. He has launched four diaries that have been incredibly well-received. This man represents the best parts of us as a community. He's helpful and kind. He's creative. He's responsive. He adds to the conversations, to the rich tapestry that the fictional CVerse provides, while consistently contributing. He is the GDS version of a renaissance man. It is my distinct honor and pleasure tonight to get to induct willr0ck into the Grey Dog Software Hall of Fame, Class of 2020. [willr0ck:] Writing acceptance speeches really aren’t my thing but what the heck let’s give it a try. First of all thanks to everyone who voted, nominated and just participated in general and everyone I’ve had the pleasure of meeting on these wonderful forums. I can honestly say that this is the only HOF I’m in...cough, cough NFL, I’m waiting for you to open up that fantasy football wing. Anyway I’m humbled to be a part of this and happy that any contributions I made have proven useful, whether it be renders, graphics or the WMRev mod. A huge shout out goes out to my WIRE brethren, southside_hitmen, Uncrewed, HRTVAndrew and Dr_Avalanche. I never considered myself a good writer but they gave me the interest to try writing my first diary and it ended up being something I really enjoyed. It was also a phenomenal diary and won many awards, at least until The Climb came through and ruined that by winning everything. (DAMN YOU HISTORIAN!!! - Just kidding, The Climb was phenomenal and deserved all those wins) I also want to give a shout out to The Swanton825 for putting so much effort into the RV and the WMRev mods. He deserves as much credit for creating some of these amazing characters as I do. Thanks as well to Dark_RaideR and Historian for always being so encouraging on the diary forum and for all the help they gave me on the mods I worked on. So I think I covered everything so I happily accept this award on behalf of…. Wait, what do you mean I don’t get a trophy. Where’s my %^&$*)*()& trophy!?! [Togg:] "Thank you for that speech, willr0ck and welcome to the Hall of Fame Class of 2020. I will work on getting that Trophy polished up, Maybe the delivery driver can turn it sideways, while you find a place to put it. Now, without further ado, here is the second inductee of the night that has made it into the TEW Hall of Fame... Now we have the second inductee of the night, he joined the TEW community way back in 2009 but has recently become a mainstay in the GDS Dynasty section. Having climbed the ranks of the Diary of The Month and Diary of the Year, he now finds himself firmly placed into the Hall of Fame. Just this year he also found himself as moderator here, so please give it up for Indiana’s own Historian, who tonight will be inducted by King Bison.” [King Bison:] What can I say about Historian? Our interactions began a couple years ago when he started The Climb; a well thought out diary about a throwback Indy company trying to make it in a modern world. I fell in love with that diary and it’s characters like a favorite book and reached out to Historian to offer my services. I’m grateful that he accepted because it has allowed me to feel in a part of some of the best, most consistent diaries on the boards today! Historian has become an integral part of the GDS community over the years. Whether it’s his writing, offering advice to new writers, creating lively discussions about the games or most recently, his inclusion to the moderator ranks, Historian genuinely cares about this game and this community. I’m honored to have been a part of so much of his work, to see it grow and to call him a friend. I can’t imagine the boards without him and he deserves every bit of this Hall of Fame title. Congratulations again Historian! [Historian:] I'd like to thank everyone who voted or nominated me for this award. While I have been a community member since 2009, it wasn't until 2018 that my activity level became consistent. The support I've received in the past two years has been incredibly humbling. This is a wonderful community of passionate people and it is an honor to be included with the luminaries that make up this Hall of Fame [Togg:] "We have reached the final entrant of the night. I hope that everyone has enjoyed the Hall of Fame Ceremony so far. Let's move ahead to our final entrant of the night... The final entrant is a special one. This person has the honour of saying they were the FIRST EVER Diary of the Month winner all the way back in March of 2006. Being the trailblazer that would then go on to pick up a second victory on the anniversary of the first win, they helped pave the way and set the bar for every diary that came after. They have also been somewhat of a prolific contributor to renders to name but a few of the accomplishments over the past 15 years, having joined way back in 2005. This person joins us all the way from California tonight and had to leave the film set of their latest movie to accept this award. You may know them from previous works such as “Concessionares Must Die!” Which also starred Stan Lee *winks* and is available for rental on all good video platforms such as iTunes and Amazon. Please give it up for none other than shipshirt.” [shipshirt:] I just want to say thanks for the inclusion and voting me in. I really enjoy doing working on renders, it's become a fun hobby for me and something I truly look forward to doing. I'm just happy that stuff I enjoy seems to resonate with people playing the game. It was a triple threat match a few months ago when Kanyon and Awesome took on Sting for the U.S Championship, a match which saw Kanyon turn on Awesome and officially join the Elite Era. Since then he has gone on to reign supreme while Booker T has been left to face the wrath of the Elite Era and Awesome was left to sit at home without a job. The match gets off to a great start for Mike Awesome who takes full advantage of the triple threat rules by taking Kanyon to the outside while smashing his head into everything in sight. After beating him so much that he can't stand, the match turns to Booker T and Mike Awesome in the ring. Both men slug it out in a brutal fashion. It's not until Kanyon regains his feet on the outside, that the match really steps up a gear. Overall the match has the crowd hyped up for more. The end comes as Kanyon takes advantage of Awesome, who after hitting a devastating powerbomb to Booker, gets rolled up and pinned immediately by Kanyon to retain his WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. Vmapiro and Konnan waste no time trading rights, battering the holy hell out of each other in a pure brawl to kick it all off. Before long both men are on the mat out of energy and nursing their wounds. Konnan then crawls to Mysterio who gets tagged in. As Mysterio gets in the the ring, Vampiro gets to his feet and after a brief staredown between the two, Vampiro places his hands behind his back and tells mysterio “I’m not going to touch you”. A confused Mysterio waits a second and then kicks Vampiro, who just stands there, Mysterio then throws a punch and again Vampiro doesn't retaliate. Mysterio then looks to the crowd, shrugs his shoulders in a comedic way and then goes on a full blown flying fists of fury moment. Eventually knocking Vampiro to the ground, which is when Mysterio climbs to the top rope. Vampiro makes his way back to his feet as Mysterio stands on the top rope, after a brief locking of eyes, Mysterio jumps and hits the Super Hurricanrana to Vampiro, before clambering to get the pin and the 3 count, ending a very strange match. As the referee gets nash to unlace his boots, thats when Page slinks back into the ring and launches a blind attack on Nash. The match that follows is close to a whitewash from DDP, who gets into the head of Nash at every chance he can get. When Nash gets any kind of advantage, Nash feins an Injury and gets the referee to pull Nash back, giving him enough time to get back in the game. The end of the match is highly controversial as DDP throws a chair in the ring, which Nash picks up but gets caught by the referee. As the Referee is removing the chair from the hands of Nash, DDP pulls out brass knuckles and cracks Nash in the back of the head with them. Jarrett and Flair both take turns to mock each other with each other's struts and locking in Figure 4’s while shouting at each other that “This is how you do it”. Lance Storm and Chyner perform solidly during the match as all 4 participants look like true stars. The win comes when Chyner goes for a low blow on Flai, but ends up reeling on the floor in pain as Flair pulls a metal Cup from his trunks. Locking eyes with Jarrett, Flair tells him to “Bring it” when from behind Storm kicks Jarrett in the back of the head with a savate kick, flooring him and allowing Flair to lock in the Figure 4, forcing Jarrett to Tap out. Since then the Road Warriors have been unstoppable in causing a headache for the Champs. It's not surprise then,that in the opening of the match that Hawk and Animal dominate after getting into the head of the World Tag Team Champions. A good solid match with plenty of storytelling throughout, with Animal and Hawk looking like they are back in their stride after a few years apart. Although Bagwel and Luger hold their own, the Legendary force that is the Road Warriors prove too much as Bagwell falls victim to the Doomsday Device, allowing Animal to get the bitter sweet pinfall on Bagwell, his former Elite Era teammate. The anticipation for the bell to ring is indescribable as the live crowd is pumped to the max. Jarrett joins Midajah at ringside for this match, creating some extra tension with the live crowd. The whole match is slowly paced as Steiner aims to keep Goldberg in the match and tire him out, rather than let him get away with his normal burst victories. The match goes for around 5-6 minutes with everything staying clean and within the rules, that is until Jeff Jarrett tries to get involved but gets caught by the Referee. Referee Nick Patrick immediately deals with the matter by getting Jarrett to leave ringside, along with Midajah who both kick up a huge fuss about being asked to leave. After they eventually leave the match gets back to normal. Goldberg and Steiner have a good Brawl between them, taking it outside the ring multiple times with the referee allowing some room for movement on the rules, including extending the 10 count for being outside the ring and not DQ’ing them for using the outside area as a weapon. In the end the match creeps on as both ben begin to tire, eventually leading to a mishap from Steiner which allows Goldberg to hit a Spear. As both men hit the mat, they are not close enough to roll over and get the fall, so Goldberg has to make it to his knees to crawl to Steiner. As he does so, Jarrett makes a run for the ring, down the ramp with a steel chair in hand. As he gets in the ring the referee warns him that if he uses it, he will DQ Steiner. Jarrett waits a moment, seemingly taking in the referee’s advice, but eventually swings and hits Goldberg over the back with the Steel Chair. The Referee calls for the end of the match, declaring Goldberg the winner, but Scott Steiner as still champion. In a match of 1 fall to the finnish, the match is full of battles back and forth. Everyone focuses on getting in the ring with their Halloween Havoc opponents, especially Jindrak who cannot wait to get hands on with Rick Steiner. After a pretty good lengthy match the end is a slap in the face as Jeff Jarrett locks in a Figure 4 on Ric Flair, forcing him to rile in pain for what felt like an eternity, before finally tapping to his own Move. Bischoff asks what the hell he's talking about. Heyman says that Halloween Havoc will indeed be a night of great change, but not the way he sees it. Heyman says that an Extreme Revolution is coming and it's just days away. Heyman says that with his shareholding in WCW, he’s used his power wisely to put together an army of the New Generation, a Generation of Extreme intensity that is going to change the face of WCW forever. Bischoff cuts off Heyman calling him crazy, saying he should focus on the return on his investment, not disrupt shows with his nonsense. Bischoff says that this will be one for the ages, Stating that it's for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and a Contract for Goldberg to return to action in WCW. The Music of Scott Steiner then hits as he walks to the ring with Midajah and Jeff Jarrett in tow. Jarrett takes to the microphone as soon as they get in the ring. Jarrett says he is disgusted at Bischoff's actions, demanding Steiner be here when he's not even 100%. Jarrett says this whole match shouldn't be happening, saying that he only agreed to it under fear. That's when the Music of Ric Flair Hits. Flair comes out and gets into the ring. Flair then introduces Goldberg, who comes out to a raucous crowd chanting his name. Goldberg gets into the ring and thanks Flair for having his back the past few weeks, that he never knew he needed a friend until now. Goldberg then says he doesn't want to waste time talking, if he could skip to Sunday right now, he would. Goldberg picks up the contract and signs it. Steiner then gets on the Microphone and calls Goldberg all the gibberish names under the sun, while Goldberg laughs them off. Steiner then picks up the contract and hands it to Jarrett, telling him to “check that over, i don't trust that piece of s*** Bischoff”. After checking it over, Jarrett hands the contract back and says it's all good. Steiner then signs it and flips over the table. Steiner and Goldberg then get up in each other's faces. Before long Steiner rakes the eyes of Goldberg as Jarrett tackles Flair to the ground and locks in the Figure 4. After a few swift blows from Steiner, Goldberg manages to get far enough away that he can charge. Goldberg then, out of nowhere, hits a devastating spear to Steiner, taking him straight down. Jarrett looks shocked as he still has the Figure 4 locked in. Goldberg grabs Jarrett by the hair, causing the break of the hold and lifts Jarrett to his feet. Goldberg stares into Jarretts eyes which are now filled with fear as he Hoists him up into the Jackhammer.
