  1. Doing a CV97 save as PGHW, hit the year 2000 and the game has seemingly decided that despite managing to get Tadiyuki Kikkawa, Pistol Pete Hall, and Yoshifusa Maeda, the main event of the next major 'Night of' PPV will have to be a Glory Crown vs Historical Japan Winner Take All match between the 24 year old Yoshimi Mushashibo and the 23 year old Raymond Diaz. I was able to open up a performance center which is why Raymond very quickly went from mediocre young up and comer to Dread 2.0. Yoshimi was already quite good but 3 years of in-game time have seen him develop far past any other young wrestler on the roster, except maybe Kikkawa. I'm not really sure what my plan is here, in previous saves I've never actually gotten the opportunity to pull the trigger on a Raymond Glory Crown run, but I may have to. Rest of the roster is incredible as well, for the young guys, fellow Team Dynasty member Shuji Inukai is great, the Eisaku's have developed well, Koji & Koki have both become genuine future stars, though I may let them go at the end up the year for World Level to form. I stole Savage Fury and they have both turned into great big guys, and Team Toronto, while behind the other teams in skills, has managed to gain a lot of popularity. We also have Dark Angel, who may or may not get the title within the next 2 years, Chris Morrisette, who is great but I'm expecting to eventually get taken by the SWF or HGC, so he'll probably never get anything other than an International title run, and The Awesome Kiyaru, who is a bit of an outsider, but I was fine with it because he looks cool and we have Koji & Koki. I may just let WLW have him when it forms though. There's also Mito Miwa, Nobuatsu, and Tadiyuki, who serve as this weird in-between for veterans and young guys. Kikkawa has already had a glory crown reign and will probably have at least 1 more before his contract is up, Miwa and Nobuatsu have just won the Tag titles and will hold it for awhile before I eventually pull the trigger and move them into the Glory Crown scene. I also managed to get Philip Roberts after SWF let him go. Great technical ability means he'll serve as a good mid-carder, someone who'll never get the big one, but will definitely be involved in the International and Historical Japan title scenes. Lastly, you have the Veterans. Koryusai, Hito, and Kumasaka are all incredible, but they're already with PGHW at the start of the game. Only interesting thing I did was secure Kumasaka a spot in the Hall of Immortals, so now I'm just kinda waiting on him to retire. Pistol Pete Hall is probably in the cards to get a Glory Crown reign before time decline sets in, he's good and I like the idea of having a last-outlaw reign that eventually is overthrown by a homegrown star. Yoshifusa Maeda was great. Did I get him legitimately, no, I got rid of his GCG loyalty because they gave Sadakuno a world title reign and I refused to have him rot under him. He's also had a Glory Crown reign, and may have one more. If not, he'll probably get the Tag titles a few more time before retirement. Finally, we have Brute Alexie, Beast Takuma, Elemental, Kazu Yoshizawa, Yoshinaka Toshusai, and Dragon Agakawa, who pretty much all exist to drain popularity from. They're all still ok, but just old and they don't have any sentimental value to me. Oh one more thing I forgot to mention, I stole Dan Stone Jr from his dad. He'll either become World Champ by the time his contract is up or I'm sending him back to Canada.
  2. I'm playing a CV97 game, and Tadiyuki Kikkawa just got released by Burning Hammer for regular use of prostitutes. I'm playing as PGHW and have never used Kikkawa in a save before. I really want him but idk if I should tank the toxicity hit to get him.
  3. Playing a CV97 save, and this happened. Edit: Literally one day later, and I'm playing as PGHW. I know I shouldn't but I really want to.
  4. Kozue Kawashima insults bulky wrestlers and Funakoshi gets angry
  5. Haven't been playing as much recently because I'm back on a CK3 binge, but when I'm not playing vanilla CVerse, the CV97 mod is great. I always enjoy playing as PGHW and building it up to compete with the SWF on the international stage. HGC is also really fun because you can just kind of go anywhere with it.
  6. Somewhat of an odd request, but is there any chance I could get two TCW events, one named Prayers For Rain, one named There Is A Light That Never Goes out, and a logo for a faction named Disintegration. While thinking late at night I have somehow convinced myself of an excellent two year long storyline that has motivated me to start yet another TCW game, and let's just say it involves creating a wrestling version Robert Smith vs Morrissey. Actually if possible, could I get another TCW event logo unrelated to that storyline, but still music inspired named "Station to Station". Thanks to whoever ends up doing this, hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow and still be inspired to do it!
  7. He's next up 100%, his entire storyline for my near 3 years of booking has been a slow climb from tag partner to his dad, to second in command of Konoe's faction, to the man who'll overthrow Brodie Lachlan and his group of goons to reclaim the belt for BCG.

In America, USPW has been on the warpath having lost Trent Shaffer to SWF, and Rick Law to their own disinterest, they’ve gained new National Champion Angry Gilmore as well as Jay Chord, Chord’s defection essentially crippling the TCW Main Event Scene, they better cling on to Andrews and Hawkins for dear life. Across the pond 21CW has won nearly all of the early BEST OF 2020 SO FAR, with Champ Edward Cornell, New Champ Adam Matraves, and the legendary Tommy Cornell having sensational main event matches, almost hitting 99s, and if it weren’t for their lack of viewership world wide, they would easily be the #2 promotion right now. EILL and CWA are having fun being isolated, with EILL somewhat looking for a chance to break out into the state. Finally in Japan, PGHW and BHOTWG still are at each others necks, with Burning Hammer raiding the lower companies for new talent, and PGHW basically standing Idle, albeit still putting on good shows. BCG has never once been raided, the small company close to hitting medium and allowing me to send sweet sweet written deals to keep my more important talent, but that's will be some time, perhaps by the end of the year.</strong><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:18px;">Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix 2020 (APRIL): </span></span></span></strong><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#008000;">(82)</span></span></span></span></strong><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:18px;"> (6,129)</span></span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> -<strong>Main Event, Funakoshi retain the BCG World Title against Mabuchi Furusawa</strong>, Furusawa had his eyes off the prize for just long enough for the champ to pounce on it, Furusawa seemed to take this loss pretty hard, a key theme in his booking in the coming months. <strong><span style="color:#0000FF;">(85)</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p> -<strong>Block A’s Yasunobu Masuno defeated Block B’s Bunrakuken Torii to win the 2020 Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix. 13. Yeah he wrestled in AJPW for a bit, after the guys who made NOAH left. I think he only had two major matches there though, one against Satoshi Kojima and one teaming with Mutoh against KroniK.
  14. Goldberg in NOAH is such an odd thought that I love it. I just can't imagine how a Goldberg vs Misawa match would've gone.
  15. Excited to check this out. Only started playing with 2020 so I'm interested to see where some of my favourite workers were doing in 2016. So I noticed something, and I'm not sure if this was just how the game was in 2016, but every title I checked is extremely prestigious, well into the 90s. I didn't go through every company and it's not really even a problem, I just didn't know if it was intentional or not.
  16. Papa Swoll would be a great Hobbs. How about Juggernaut Jones for Brian Cage? Not really established, but an athletic monster with high star quality and 0 mic skills. I also think Xavi Ferrera would work well as Ricky Starks. Edit: Just thought of something, if you can steal him away from 21CW, why not Viktor Beskov as Brian Cage?
  17. A weird one I haven't done in a game yet, but maybe using James and Raymond Diaz as a sort of C-Verse version of Hook and Taz. Let Raymond Diaz run a group similar to Team Taz, and have James play the strong, silent prodigy. Not sure where'd you go from there, but I think it could work as a C-Verse equivalent of the AEW storyline.
  18. That's actually perfect! Thanks. Will make my stable for Pablo Rodriguez in CV97 a lot more interesting. Put it on a Cverse radient background, in the rare case anyone needs a Catholic-themed stable
  19. Got a weird request, but could I have a logo for a stable called The Papacy?
  20. And we're back, only 4 days from the last one. Been booking rather quickly with this save because I know the closer I get to New Years the less I'll be able to do, and I want to leave myself at a good point when I'm able to start playing some more. I've considered starting a dynasty for this, but I know I'm very bad at writing, and I also don't know if it's okay to start a dynasty 2 years into a save. So, if anyone has any dynasty writing tips, I'd gladly take them! 1998 was a lot less chaotic than 1997. For one, a product switch allowed me to get an incredible TV and Event deal, which has pretty much started to push the company past the SWF. Not fully there yet, but would not be surprised if HGC quickly becomes #1 a month or two into '99, which is a shame imo, wanted a bit longer of a catch-up game, but I guess it means I can focus on stories now. Oh, I continued my talent-swap bombing because I wanted to grab myself the rest of the DeColts, so CGC is gone. Lastly, we ended up losing Spanish Superfly, Vengeance, and Chris Morisette to the SWF, and we also lost Nemesis and Larry Vessey due to them taking time off. Larry's contract ran out and we were unable to re-sign him because of this, which makes me think we may have to get into a bidding war with the SWF when he eventually comes back. The World Title scene has pretty much been all Dread for the past 6 months. The year started with Sam Strong holding the belt, who then dropped it to Nemesis (I didn't have to screwjob him, thankfully. No I'm just waiting for him to retire). After that, Larry Vessey (winner of the King of California) challenged him in May and took the belt, only for Dread to debut, attack him from behind, and take the belt off of him the next month. The Tag Titles have managed to slide firmly into the "young star that we don't have anything for right now" position. The Vesseys held it at the start of the year, but I had them drop it to BLZ & Vengeance early on so Larry could get his world title run. BLZ then got injured, which led to Raymond Diaz & Lee Wright to win the belts (and the Tag Team Grand Prix), and they only recently dropped it to Ricky Dale & Steve DeColt, who I'm letting have one more reign before Steve turns on him. After that, I'm thinking Jack Bruce & Liberty finally get a reign with the belts. The plan for the Ricky Dale & Steve DeColt breakup is rather simple, Steve gets mad about losing the titles, turns on Ricky. Ricky is worried about his friend, and he gets Steve's dad, George DeColt, and his brothers Alex & Jack to try and help him, only for Steve to brutally beat down all 3 of them over the course of a few months. The Mid-Card Scene has effectively belonged to Saint "The Pope of Professional Wrestling" Pablo for the entire year. Starting '98 off as the Cruiserweight Champion, he eventually turned Face, renouncing the Satanic ways of BLZ Bubb & the rest of Black Mass, and sought to claim the Hardcore title from Vengeance, which he did. This face turn included vignettes of Pablo going to Mass, discussing his fate with a priest (who was just J.K Stallings in a Pope outfit). From there, he defeated Chris Morisette for the International Belt, and going into '99 he has all 3 titles. During the year, I managed to convince Rip Chord to put him over, which was the catalyst for Rip's face turn as well. The plan from here is probably my favourite I've had in this save so-far, he challenges Dread on the first episode of Hollyweird TV of the year, and Dread forces him to give up all 3 belts for the title shot. After that, the feud is Dark Angel in a "please get 100s everytime you wrestle" series. Booking Pablo has absolutely been the bright spot of this save, as a non-comedic wrestling priest gimmick is just so out there, and if there's anyone who's gonna end up being it's main character, it's the Saint, so I guess we can call this the Pabloverse. And here's the major faction for the year, and hopefully it lasts longer than Black Mass did. Infamous is effectively just a group of good heels put together with Dread, the obvious leader of the faction and effectively this saves Lesnar, with Vibert as his Heyman, and Raymond Diaz, the probable heir to the faction and future world champion. I've managed to turn Raymond and Lee into Stars in a year, and they'll probably own the tag scene until Lee ends up retiring, or declining so far that it's impossible to keep him there. Black Hat & Enforcer are a team I put together because they both had good popularity, being midcard SWF rejects, and they both have great technical ability. They probably won't ever hold the tag belts, but they'll certainly put on great matches when losing to babyface tag team of the month. The future plans are interesting. To make up for the loss of 3 pretty big stars to the SWF, I was able to steal Tommy Cornell from them very close to the end of the year, which may shake up future plans for the World Title scene, since Pablo vs Tommy may be too good to pass up. Sean McFly is my hopeful signing for '99. If I get him, it'd set back every title plan I have by at least 6 months, but I don't necessarily care because I've never been able to use a prime Sean McFly during a save. To finish this off, I'm considering starting an alliance between a few promotions I've worked with that haven't involved talent-swap bombing. OLLIE, NOTBPW, and PGHW all have friendly relations and talent trading agreements with HGC, and I think opening up free talent trading between the 4 would make tournaments like the King of California and the Tag Team Grand Prix a lot more interesting, and Mushashibo vs Stone Jr vs Rodriguez vs Cornell sounds like it'd be really good.
  21. So here's what should happen. TEW 2024 should introduce El Hijo Del J.K Stallings Jr, the illegitimate son of HGC J.K, and he should buy the rights to the Hollyweird name back from BriCo. Also El Hijo Del J.K Stallings Jr should wrestle and he should suck. And on an unrelated note
  22. Actually didn't have to surprisingly. He ended up accepting a loss to Nemesis, just had to book him strongly and it was good. I have effectively turned him into Vince McMahon during puberty.
  23. Very obviously inspired by what Self does for his yearly recaps. Hoping that doing this will motivate me to put some more effort into planning out my saves, and to make me actually continue a non-Puro save for more than 2 years. This is both a review of my year 1 in my HGC '97 save, and some previews of future plans. For some early context, I didn't really care about doing a canon accurate save because I'm relatively new to the CVerse, I've only been playing since the 2020 demo, so I don't know the ins and outs of the lore. Because of this, I was willing to do some some inaccurate things, like cutting/talent swapping people who were bad influences or cost way too much money. Because of that, Demon Anger & Spite, Danny Rushmore, the old Street guy, Richie Pangrazzio, and Peter Valentine were all gone within a month of the save. I used Richie and the old Street guy to bankrupt DAVE and XWF respectively through talent swapping. Thanks for the referees. Now moving on, the World Title Picture was rather bland, it went Rip Chord to Bryan Vessey to BLZ Bubb to Sam Strong in December. I'm planning on having Sam drop the belt in March to Nemesis (Who I stole from DAVE in the buyout), and if he isn't willing to comply, I'll use the screwjob match note. The Tag Scene has definitely been a lot more interesting. For the vast majority of the year (other than the first champs, Demon Spite & Anger, who I quickly had drop the belts and fired after I discovered how bad they were, and the current champs, the Vessey Brothers), I've used it to bleed younger talent. Passed around rather quickly, it went the Demon Boys, Cowboy Ricky Dale and Cowboy Steve DeColt, who I put together because of BestForTheBusiness's incredible renders, to Alexander Robinson and Lee Bennett, who were both quickly poached by the SWF because of how over they were, to Java and Tribal Warrior, who only had a week long reign, back to Ricky & Steve, who had less than a day, to maybe my favourite team, Saint Pablo Rodriguez and Dark Angel. Eventually they lost it to the Vessey Brothers, as I want to continue to build their wins. The goal is, if Larry has a good roll with his decline age, to give him the belt after Nemesis. To get the titles off the Vessey Brothers, I'll probably give it to Jack Bruce & Liberty, who I've paired together as "Rock & Roll USA". The 3 Midcard belts are also pretty much just used to develop the younger stars. The Cruiserweight belt has probably been the worst of the 3, with Golden Fox starting it off with a short reign, dropping it to Jack Bruce, then to Mr. Lucha, then to Saint Pablo. Vengeance and Charlie Homicide have dominated the Hardcore title, other than a short reign by Johnny Martin, who was eventually picked up by the SWF. The International Title has probably been my favourite of the 3, Saint Pablo won it first, until dropping it to Eisaku Hoshino for a month, who I brought in for a bit just to test him out. After that, Pablo regained it, then lost it to Duane Stone, who eventually lost it to Jack Bruce. In the grand scheme of things, I eventually plan on having someone holding all three of them at once for some massive push up the card. It'll most likely be Bruce, or Pablo after a face turn. The only real stable I have, Black Mass is effectively just a group of spooky characters. Nero is the obvious manager, because of the 4, none of them are really good at talking yet. Vengeance and BLZ Bubb are a Tag Team that really don't tag together often. I don't think I'll ever give them a reign with the belts, but I think they fit well together as a sort of C-Verse Brothers of Destruction. Meanwhile, there's a good chance I build the promotion around an eventual usurper Dark Angel against a redeemed Saint Pablo in a few years. They are already two of the best wrestlers on the roster, and they seemingly have incredible development rolls. Of these 4, I'd say the only one who I don't forecast as champion is Vengeance, unless he somehow develops massively in the next few years. The Next Up are rather interesting. This section is pretty much "could be world champ, but won't be for awhile unless injury luck gets really bad". Cowboy Ricky and Cowboy Steve will probably split in the next year or two, and may be the major feud after the Dark Angel vs Pablo one. Duane Stone (using the great BestForTheBusiness Frankie Future render) is an obvious future world champion. I think the set-up for a Steve DeColt vs Duane Stone feud is rather obvious, and can certainly main event Total Mayhem by about 2000. Lastly, there's the wildcard, Jack Bruce. Massively over, the only issue is that Jack Bruce is still not a good worker. I've given him midcard title runs, but I'm not sure where to use him. I'm honestly kinda hoping the SWF poaches him when his contract is up, because if they don't, I know I'll have to give him a world title run. It'll probably end up being a Heel Rock God Jack Bruce vs a Face Messiah of Technical Wrestling Duane Stone, but that's far in the future. The other young guys are okay, some possible midcard champions here, but it'll require incredible development for more than that from any of them. Chris Morrisette (using the BestForTheBusiness Dino Maldini render) is just a slightly better-working, less over Jack Bruce right now. He's another one in the position of "I hope the SWF poaches you". Java and Tribal Warrior are whatever. Incredibly high potential because of their age and star power, but I really don't see either of them breaking out of the tag/singles midcard scene. Spanish Superfly (using a modified version of BestForTheBusiness's Amiri Ngala render) was brought in to be the main cruiserweight guy, until I figured out he was a middleweight. Now he's a midcarder, but I don't see him as world champion because of the lack of star quality. Lastly, there's Liberty. I do not like him, he is a bad worker in game, but he's over. I dread the thought of maybe giving him a world title reign. Speaking of Dread, he's one of the major signings I hope to make in 1998 when his contract is up. If that's what happens, I'll have to set back all my plans by a year, as I'll 100% give him a massive year long reign unless he's in decline. He's not the only stars I hope to poach from PGHW, I've already taken Lee Wright, and I'm hoping to bring in Raymond Diaz on a non-exclusive deal once his deal with PGHW is up. I'll let him continue to work their for development reasons, as if I get him, he'll be pushed into the "Future World Champion" category. I also hope to take Eisaku Hoshino, as he's the only major PGHW guy without loyalty to them, and I like the idea of having him a major player in the company, maybe not world champion, but up there. The last interesting thing I have to mention are the two tournaments I run each year, the King of California (using a modified GSW trophy) and the Tag Team Grand Prix (using a modified CWA trophy). The in-universe explanation for these existing is J.K going through a Puro phase during his late teens, leading to him stealing the concept of the Elite Series from PGHW. Winner of the King of California gets a title shot at HGC Hollyweird, which I moved to May, and winner of the Tag Team Grand Prix will end up having the titles, as the champions defend them in the tournament. They were won by Bryan Vessey and Saint Pablo/Dark Angel respectively this year. So yeah, thank you for reading my ramblings, sorry if this is way too long winded for this thread, I'll delete it if the mods decide it's a scroll hazard. Also sorry if it randomly jumps around, I'm not the best at writing down my thoughts. Lastly, thanks for Self for inspiring me to do this, Derek B for making the incredible CVerse 97 mod, and BestForTheBusiness for the great character renders.
