1. On Bryan:

My opinion is that it never really takes more then three victories to build someone back up, even if at the bottum.... AS long as they've been visible throughout.

I know, in TEW terms, it would actually be next to impossible, but also in TEW terms, Sin Cara would probably be lower end of Lower Midcard to Daniels strong Midcard position. I can see him slip into lower midcard, but everyone knows him now, so he's not slipping into oblivion, unless they take him off the shows. Sin Cara got a strong victory, and possibly the curveball everyone is looking for might come out of it (fake Sin Cara).

He's lost to Barrett (future solid Main Eventer, could already be one). Twice to Alberto Del Rio, another future Main eventer that is probably closer to being there then Wade at this time. The biggest loss, unless I'm forgetting one, was to Sin Cara, which I can't help to think there is somewhere they want to take that.

I don't think of Jobbing the same way most do, I don't think. For me, someone more over losing to someone less over (HHH losing to CM Punk) would be jobbing. The other way around though, isn't jobbing to me. I know it's a "Job" technically, but it's not like they are putting him up against people that aren't already over him (Outside of this last match up between him and Sin Cara). To me the match itself has alot to do with it as well. Does he come accross as if he had a chance to win?

People use the word burried to easily in my opinion as well. Example:

John Cena beating The Miz, after a match that goes both ways (open), isn't burrying The Miz... If it looks like The Miz might have had a chance. IF John Cena goes in, does five moves and the match is over, then I would somewhat agree, but the fact of the matter is, is that John Cena is alot more over then The Miz is, and The Miz just being in a storyline with John Cena is enough to actually help his overness, win/lose/draw. Just depends on how strong they make him in the match-ups, and equally on the promo's.

I agree that Bryan is losing, can't deny that... but to me he's going up against people over his card position, and "almost" overcoming them. To me that's not burrying him, it's keeping him relevant.

If there was a facebook style like post option on here, this post would get one. As there isn't, I'll just say I very much agree with this.

You're crazy if you thought he was going to get the TNA treatment. He was just their last resort. Look at the SD line up. Show and Kane aren't anything new, and wanted time off. Henry needed time to be built up as a threat, which is now complete. Taker is chillin at his crib, bald and ****. And Wade, Sheamus and Rhodes can't be depended on YET.

That left Christian. Reliable, good in the ring, good on the mic. He was their only choice until they were able to build up someone else(Henry). Sure, they let Christian get in a few wins, and two terribly short title reigns. That was just so the feud would drag out a little longer since they were putting on good matches anyway, and they didn't want to rush Henry's push. They still made sure that Orton eventually murdered Christian every other week. The Christian push was never really meant to be that big of a push. Oh well, at least we got good matches out of it.

I am a big Christian fan so would like to see him get a longer shot at some point. As for Henry, he has been built up as Orton's next challenger but I don't see Orton dropping the title again any time soon and definitely not to Henry. So who will face Orton at HIAC? Christian again?

  4. I can see Ziggler vs Riley for the US Title, Miz vs Mysterio (Maybe Miz coming out to say it's ridiculous that he doesn't have a match at Summerslam, should be in title match etc - out comes Mysterio and GM Alert goes off to say they will have am atch now) and Bryan vs Barrett.

Don't see them having another Morrison vs Truth match so soon seeing as the last match ended cleanly and the resurgence of Kofi and ADR feuding seems to have been just a short thing to give them both something to do on Raw. As someone else said, the Divas match won't go long and neither will Sheamus vs Henry so there might be room for a Jackson vs Rhodes IC Title match although I doubt it.

    That would give us

Punk vs Cena - WWE Title

Christian vs Orton - World Heavyweight Title (No Holds Barred)

    Sheamus vs Henry

Kelly Kelly vs Beth Phoenix - Divas Title

    Daniel Bryan vs Wade Barrett

    Miz vs Mysterio

Ziggler vs Riley - US Title

Cody Rhodes vs Ezekiel Jackson - IC Title (Maybe)

Imo, that is a very solid and interesting card, certainly worthy of purchase is anyones book.

Only thing would be the lack of Cody Rhodes if there is no IC Title match.

I'm thinking they might throw in a bonus match of something like Miz, ADR & Truth vs Mysterio, Kofi & Morrison.

  5. I was reviewing a few things on youtube, and thought I seen it as well, and you just confirmed it. I don't think the anonymous GM ever did anything when Vince was on either. Just figured if a "higher" authority is on, the anonymous GM doesn't have to be.

I am one that don't really dislike it, at least not as much as other's. What always makes me wonder about things, is how whenever something grabs our attention like the Punk stuff, people seem quick to bring up something NOT being mentioned, when they seemed to hate it in the first place. Out of all the things that they might forget about, I never thought people would be like "Dang it! What happened to the Anonymous GM!! I want him back or I want closure!!!" Me on the other hand, being a fan of both the anonymous GM gimmick, and mainly what it has done for Cole, I do want closure or it brought back. I even liked the weird voice they gave it for one show.

I think the term "nit picky" comes to my mind when I see stuff like this. I understand the reason people are always so quick to point out stuff they think is lacking/being ignored/forgotten about, etc. It's the speed in which stuff is pointed out, and the fact that there is no way they could know anything about it yet. Maybe they did, and the things on the podium for house shows, pre-shows, or after-shows, just for the live crowd, but we can't possibly know if it's gone or not for good yet. If the thing come up while HHH or Vince was around, it wouldn't even make sense... Why would ANY general manager try to change anything that a higher power is doing, unless it was part of the storyline.... like HHH vs. The Anonymous GM. Just don't make any sense.

If it comes back, I suspect it will be on a show that HHH or Vince is not going to be on. Might be sooner then we think.

Like you I've never had a problem with the Anonymous GM, to a certain point anyway. While I don;t mind the idea, it now seems to have dragged on and the more it goes on, the bigger the reveal is going to have to be for it to be worthwhile imo. Of course, whoever it is revealed to be (if it ever is revealed) will make no sense what so ever given the things the Anonymous GM has said, mostly in the early months of it's usage.

  6. Melina abd Vladimir Kozlov both released.

Bit surprised about both tbf, although also not surprised if that makes sense :D

Melina was pretty much the dominant diva for a long time but it seems her attitude got her demoted down the pecking order over the last 18 months or so.

Kozlov also, whilst not the best or most exciting worker, was someone I didn't particularly expect to see released soon. Would be hard to ever have him as a viable main event heel though after the way he has been used over the past 18 months.

Presumably there are more releases to come as they usually have quite a few releases every year, although normally a little earlier than this.

As long as they don't go and release someone like Drew McIntyre, someone who they can still actually do something big with, then I'll be happy.

  7. 1. Who was the annonomus GM for the last year and a half? The podium is gone now, so I am assuming the gimmick is over...I don't care if Trip had simply said "one of the changes I'm making is that the GM is gone." but at least, you know, address why and how a major gimmick is simply gone with no warning.

*wave hand in a Jedi-like fashion* There never was a Annonymous GM for RAW.

The podium has been on all of the last few episodes of Raw, it just hasn't been used. Presumably the email alert will go off at some point over the next couple of weeks and the GM will say that they didn't want to step on HHH's toes or something or they were given a few weeks off by HHH and things will continue as before.

  8. Don't think Mysterio is getting a title any time soon.

Hopefully it all ends up with Punk being rightfully recognised as the champion, which means Punk vs Cena at Summerslam.

Punk can come back next week and say he had to make his point that he is the champion and any one they've decided is new champion means nothing so Rey and Cena's reigns don't count. Punk says if Cena thinks he deserves to be champion then he should earn it by invoking his rematch at Summerslam. Hopefully Punk then beats Cena.

Cena can then feud with Del Rio and Mysterio with Punk whilst presumably Miz and Riley reignite for another match.

Depending on the situation of Punk's return it could lead to HHH giving Punk more desperate matches in an effort to 'reclaim' the title.

A triple threat match at Night Of Champions, a HIAC match at the similarly named ppv etc

I just meant with Cody, is that I like him and his character but he still needs a lot of development before he'll be believable at that level for me, and I hope they give that time to happen rather than escalating it too quickly.

I want to see him get a proper push towards a world title. He's still got a good bit to do yet to really show he deserves a world title push so hopefully they don't just force one on him. I want to see him win the Intercontinental Title, have a decent feud with Ted DiBiase along with a few other really decent feuds over the Intercontinental belt then progress naturally towards main event status.

Barrett makes more sense to me to get the SD MITB briefcase. Absolutely no chane in hell Sin Cara is getting it, Bryan would get a slightly better 5% chance. Slater or Gabriel aren't getting it either. Kane won't win again so it is one of Barrett, Rhodes or Sheamus unless they go for Bryan.

As for Raw. Bourne won't win, Swagger or Miz won't win again, Kofi hasn't shown anything to suggest he is in a position to main event since his feud with Orton and despite the fact they are clearly pushing Riley it is just far too early for him. Don't want Rey to win it on a purely personal level but don't see that happening anyway. One of Del Rio or Truth for me. Truth could win and fail to cash it in in some screwy manner that furthers the conspiracy thread for him. It probably is Alberto's destiny to win it though.
