Funny part is, this is considered one of the key things that cost WCW the war and put all the eyeballs on WWF going forward, but in 97, Shawn and hhh basically did the same thing when Slaughter booked them in a match. hhh even exaggerated the Ultimate Warrior rope run for like a full minute before pinning Shawn.

Because it was the European title and both guys were buddies, which everyone knew. So it wasn't as shocking or despised because of those facts.

Nash and Hall were both the leaders of opposing factions and the fans thought they were getting a legitimate main event World title match. Very big stretch to even compare the two.

Progress has been a little slower than anticipated just because I want it to be the best it can be, but here are a few more screenshots just to let everyone know that it's definitely still being worked on. I've included an updated look at the workers page as I finally got 'round to updating the graphics so you can now see how they integrate into the aesthetic.

Progress looks awesome. I cannot wait for the finished product. You have truly made, in my opinion, some of the best skins for TEW throughout the years.

Ah yes, that infamous killer of RW saves, the whistleblower! I had a save on Mammoth’s 2006 mod where I ran WWE and TNA as both players. On the night of the 2007 Royal Rumble, Mike Chioda went public about the WWE locker room, and our prestige dropped from 78 to 34. He also generated negative relationships with half the locker room. This came after I had to derail many of my plans due to suspensions and stints in rehab.

It doesn't appear to be as bad as it first appeared to be. We lost TV/PPV in the beginning of December (the contracts expired and I couldn't renew, like I had said) and we were able to get TV/PPV deals mid-April. So four months post-scandal, broadcasters will deal. Maybe they would've after 3-months and I didn't check? Seems like prestige is the biggest downfall but we're still putting on good shows. Definitely a curveball but not the end of the world.

  4. So we had a whistleblower (he's been terminated, I'm not sorry) leak some unfavorable things about apparent "substance abuse problems in the NWA locker room". I had TV and PPV deals expiring, obviously not able to renew them due to the scandal. Other broadcasters want nothing to do with me for the time being either. We had just taken that step to grow bigger and this happens - definitely dropping us down a few pegs in the process.

How long do these take to blow over before I can negotiate with a broadcaster again? Says I still have over a year before it'll blow over (only two months post-scandal news). Will it be the entire time I'll be iced out? What a bummer. I've implemented a drug policy now but haven't really seen anything pop up. That whistleblower is a real Karen. 😝

I know this is bringing a dead thread back, but we are now 2 years into playing RIPW, what are some success stories you all might have had ?

I played them for two years in one save and no one was ever promoted lol.

I've wanted to play a RIPW save since TEW2020 came out and I never jumped into one until now. To be completely honest, running a child company was one of the major selling points and one of the features I truly wanted to see - I was beyond thrilled when the feature was originally announced.

I really don't have any cool stories to share yet, still a very new game. I am taking advantage of the fact we have no monetary restriction though (thanks for footing the bill SWF!) and I'm running the monthly event with bi-weekly TV (2 taped at a time). My goal? Build up these younger guys and get them called up (hopefully see them do great things) while also building RIPW into a regional contender at the same time.

Obviously, I'd love to turn a profit eventually, but it isn't the primary goal considering we'll never get to enjoy a dime of it. Really like the young roster that you start with... plenty of room to bring in others for $30/night handshake deals too. I even started a small women's division, Jerry said it was OK! ;)

Because most people have played TEW since it was a greydog software title people forget about TEW 2004 put out by .400 studios. ALthough every iteration after that talk s about Richard Eisen shying away from being on screen, in 2004 he ran a stable called The Supremacists which I believe included Remo Richardson.

I've played since the EWR days. I don't remember that stable from 2004... interesting.

It was definitely a real thing... quite the power stable!

Depending on how you want to read the Jack Bruce, Man Under Pressure storyline ending particularly violently and Eric Eisen's Supremacist role , you can see that as the Catalyst for the 2010 change

Either they had been Ruthless Aggression all the way through, or only when the Pressure got too much did they become Risque/Cult

    http://greydogsoftware.com/cornellverse/column_manunderpressure.html

From SWF's profile in TEW2004: "One of the Big Two in US wrestling, SWF offer the riskier, more edgy product. Run by the famous Eisen family, they were once the dominant force in US wrestling, but have recently faced stiff competition from ultra-rich arch-rivals HGC."

They had a "Sports Entertainment" product but that's obviously well before we saw products as advanced as they are now, so lots of room for wiggle room at the time, which it sounds like they used - being "riskier, more edgy".

  8. Hi all,

Can I buy tew2020 twice for two different computers and just transfer the saves? The only threads I see are about having a license but needing to transfer it but I want to buy 2 copies of tew2020 and not have to hastle with all that. My PC at home has tew2020 but late at night I'd rather sit up in bed and pull out my laptop and play until I call it a night.

I just unlicense when I want to use on laptop instead of desktop. I use TeamViewer for all of my home PCs, so if for some reason I forget to unlicense, I can just remote in to unlicense it. TeamViewer also lets you transfer files really fast, but otherwise in the past I've used OneDrive, Google Drive, DropBox, etc.

  9. If you're booking 2000 WCW then you're not in either of those positions. If you put WWF out of business and you've suddenly found yourself with a dozen guys who can all viably main event a pay-per-view? Then you might have a reason for a brand split.

Couldn't agree more with this. WCW in 2000 didn't have the star power to run two viable A-brands. The shows are tanking because the fans just aren't impressed with how thin the rosters are between the two shows.

  10. Hello everyone,

Like I said in the title of this thread, I wonder if creating a child company with a Tour schedule is better for workers to gain experience & improve their stats quicker than creating a "normal"-scheduled company, with a TV show every week & a monthly PPV.

FYI, I'm playing AEW in the RWC December 2020 DB, and you can imagine that a lot of workers needs experience, and I'm already fully booking all the pre-shows that I can.

In TEW2016, it absolutely made a difference. If someone works more matches and angles in a month, you'd see bigger stat increases month-to-month as opposed to a company that runs one event a month or even weekly TV and a monthly event. Having them work 2-3 events a week on a touring schedule is what I used to use. No idea if stat increases in a month have a limitation in TEW2020 though.

  11. Sigh...why can no one have any complaints about something in the game without someone or several someones come crashing down on them on some spectrum of rudeness? This has been going on for years, and it is actually harming the game. Why?

I'd love to see how many active users GDS had prior to the release of TEW2020 compared to now. Exactly what you describe is why I no longer visit GDS on a daily basis, it isn't even a favorite bookmark anymore. I have issues with TEW and I have things I enjoy but I keep all of that to myself now. What is the point of posting on a forum when 90% of the replies are unwelcoming at best?

  12. I just turned around a locker room that had dropped to 50% (from 95) and I was a tiny company in debt so couldn't even offer bonuses. I only had one bad apple. My spiral started because of workers botching moves or hurting each other.

My number one advice is get to know the personality attributes. The personality type is always the one at the top of the attributes list.

    Anyway:

    1. Look for problematic personality types (such a bully, needy, gloomy, prickly) and decide if you want to keep those workers. Always check their relationships before you decide to release anyone because if they have a lot of friends on the roster it may cause moral issues which will lead to more problems. Obviously if they have a lot of enemies it can also improve moral.

    2. Check your unhappy workers. If giving them a bonus/time off will improve their moral do it if you can afford it. Certain personality types only get into incidents when they have negative moral.

    3. Use the worker search feature and set the attribute to be searched for as "People Person", "Irrepressible" or "Lively". These will be positive influences and are much more likely to get involved in positive incidents. Because they are positive influences just adding them to your roster will improve the backstage environment slightly.

    4. Find more locker room leaders. I honestly can't remember what combination of stats makes a good locker room leader so someone else will have to fill that in. I only have Cherry Bomb on my roster.

    5. Weather the storm and hope you get lucky with some of the incident rolls and your handling of incidents. Once the effects from the negative incidents wear off you will see a jump and if you've hired enough positive influences you should start seeing good incidents occurring. Once this happens you can get to a point where most of the "Notable Other Factors" in backstage are all green, the backstage environment will be 100%. Then you can think about bringing in some of the more problematic talents.

Really good advice. I'll add to it a little by saying that bonuses can be given to the people who have more influence over the locker room. Some personalities hinder the backstage area a lot if they are unhappy, so focusing on those people in terms of bonus money can save you some cash on other people. You can also try to hire some buddies of the guys who are upset, that will give them morale boosts. And you can also try focusing on the 'Leadership' user talent when you get bonus points. That will help a lot.
