  1. My understanding is that the last edition was the LAST edition. Not gonna lie, I'll be sad if we don't see T-Verse 2020.

I was trying to point out the reality that it was not a standard WWE show that was promoted in the normal way for the normal reasons. Even leaving aside any issues with what government it was, it was still a government paying the promoter massive sums of money to hold those shows. Take that away and those shows almost certainly do not happen. So pointing them as "we should be able to promote shows here" isn't the strongest argument when those two shows were not promoted as wrestling shows normally are, or how it works in the game.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Expanding what BigPapa said, beyond the fact that the two shows you referenced were sponsored by a murderous tyrannical regime, what sort of wrestling scene is there in Saudi Arabia? Qatar? UAE? I wager not much. Wrestling might be big there, but it doesn't seem to me that there is much, if any, of a local presence. Wrestling in the Middle East consists of WWE doing the occasional tour/government propaganda.</p>

I can't believe it's been a little over three years since I last sunk my teeth into a T-Verse game with AWF. But I guess it's a blessing too because it's like rediscovering this world allll over again. I had a year-long NJPW game that ended after I poached wayyy too much WWE talent and I just had too many guys I didn't want to waste (One day my Danielson/Joe/Styles stable will come to life :') ). Watching the G1 and 5*GP got me itching for TEW again, especially with a Japanese company, so why not return to the T-Verse for something new? And now I'm running a game with UPJ, ready to make the same mistakes and poach away everyone from AWF!!!<p> </p><p> If I recall, I believe UPJ starts off with a regular schedule, but I turned that to touring for those juicy touring contracts that I will 100% forget to renew after a tour ends at least once. I like my rosters big too and I think UPJ starts at almost 40, but I'm sitting at a little over 50, which isn't compared to the 80 I had in my NJPW game, but it's a start. Once I hit national though and then open a developmental company, may god help the companies I will poach. Also did an overhaul of the events and am slowly making a bigger weight class divide. Planning to bring back the Jr. HW tag belts then have heavyweight and junior cups in November, where I'll also crown the Jr. HW Tag Champs too. Then having December's Hall Of Immortals be my big Wrestle Kingdom.</p><p> </p><p> All part of my plan to slowly turn UPJ into NJPW, but with three months of the year off. Haven't created my version of the IWGP just yet, so I renamed the International title to World title (with plans of world domination of course), but I might just rename it the UPJ Heavyweight too, so I can then rename the tag belts to the UPJ Tag Team. Created the UPJ Intercontinental Championship and it won't be long before I come up with some knockoff concept for the NEVER Openweight. Then stop at three...for now. Ideally I want to get to the point where I can run two or three PPVs some months to let the IC belt and to-be-named belt main event just because I get into a nasty habit of having every belt defended on one show and I hate doing that. Might have February and October serve as that for the next year.</p><p> </p><p> The June-August tour is basically my big two tours with the Junior Mountain Cup and Ozeki Summit Trophy being back to back. Running a World Tag League and Super Juniors Tag tournament at the same time in mid-October to late November because why not more tournaments? Get everyone involved before Hall of Immortals. Then I'm doing a United Promotions Cup in March because more tournaments.</p><p> </p><p> Spent my off-month in January setting up the roster and splitting everyone up into 5 stables. There's the original three, Hall of the United Throne, FEARLESS, RENEGADES and then I added Three Kings and DOOM (A super creative name for my version of CHAOS, I know).</p><p> </p><p> <strong>The Hall</strong> stays true to their description. Not all necessarily super good guys, but guys loyal to UPJ (and hate Erik van Rijn). Kintaro is the "leader" of the loose alliance with Kato, Goto, and Kozue right behind him. Even though Ignite Zero are angled as heels, I like to more so imagine them as guys jumping into the "good guy" team to rise up the ranks and then turn on them down the line for their split from the tag division into solo competition. Even works with Kato going after Kintaro and Goto after Kozue. The Hunters are in there, Captain UPJ. Takanori Sakurai is in there to serve as another guy waiting to turn on the stable basically. HashiWara too. Tossed Aleki Puafisi into there as he's been kayfabe adopted by Kintaro, but I fully expect to have Aleki join Kato and Goto when they split off, especially with his face paint alt.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>RENEGADES</strong> stay evil/cool of course. Erik van Rijn serves as THE leader and Furosuto serving as a number 2. Along with the OGs of Cassidy, Farrell, TEMPEST, and Miller, I also tossed in Ram Diablo (who can serve as a possible defector down the line if time decline doesn't end him), Mr Yamashita because I just know I'm going to hate him, so why not have him in the big heel stable, and added in Fergus Storm (for obvious reasons) and I'm toying with the idea of bringing in Adrian Storm full time. At 19, I almost feel he's a bit too young to do anything serious with, so he's just touring now and based off their bios, I don't mind having Fergus go in alone.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>FEARLESS</strong> is still led by Oda Yamawaki and these guys were seen as the third wheel, now they're the fourth wheel. Along with TOKI, Otsuka, Nakada, and Haruko Yamada, I tossed in Gao Xi as a kayfabe protege/mascot of the group's youth oriented focus. Also tossed in the Tokyo Tigers for the same reason. I generally see this stable as more tweener than anything.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>DOOM</strong> is led by Juro Deguchi. In kayfabe and with a lot of creative gymnastics since Juro is naturally (and skillfully) a babyface, Juro split off from The Hall after feeling a bit shafted that Kintaro has become the official ace and that in less about of time, Kintaro is close to surpassing what Juro's done in UPJ. Despite being 40, Juro feels he still has a lot to offer and here is DOOM! Also with him is Waotaka Eda (with his hatred of EVR and distaste for Kintaro/Oda), as well as Pain & Torture and Tiger Singh. With Juro's turn, he brought in Crimson Matsuka, Junichi Matsuo, Dark Wolf II, Ryder, and Utamara because cool, dark masks make for a good heel stable. And Junichi's pretty boy gimmick too. Only thing I'm missing to 100% make this a CHAOS ripoff is my Okada.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Three Kings</strong> isn't anything too flashy (or technically even a stable, but three qualifies to me). Just saw that Alejandro Iglesias, Sean Girven, and Nathan Jordan are all friends as well as different nationalities, which is a neat gimmick. They play real tweener too and I don't really have plans on expanding them (for obvious naming reasons), but who knows. Probably a gaijin overload, but I love the potential these three have too much. The locking down of guys who will probably never truly reach the tip top has already started. But if Iglesias keeps staying negative (he will) and keeps trying to turn Jordan negative too haha i will die inside when i banish him from the company.</p><p> </p><p> Rest of the roster is just touring folks, misfits, young lions, and the vets. Unofficially "led" by Takehide, Thunder, and Hidetsugu. Ace Smith is a touring pick up who will most likely become a full time member of the roster (just one more gaijin to add onto the pile, folks!). Picked up Ryan Strong as well. J.T. Rush and Derek Grace too, to maybe fit one or both into my BOSJ (or maybe junior tag division possibly).</p><p> </p><p> Oh and speaking of tournaments, I kicked off the first tour with a tournament for the Intercontinental Championship! A tournament that would see Juro Deguchi defeat Kintaro Kinjo for the belt, because really, who better than Juro to hold the IC belt? Helps cement Juro's split with DOOM and the obvious feud between the two. The big event also saw EVR retain over Waotaka and Furosuto over Kozue. Ignite Zero retained against Pain & Torture, getting like a 95+ and a 100 performance score which also settled it in my mind that these two will 1000% betray Kintaro and The Hall. Elsewhere on the card, the Three Kings established themselves a bit more and gave Takehide a win over Oda's stable to set up Oda getting his win back in the UPJ Cup. I was also setting up Crimson to be another strong heavyweight, but he hit the Time Decline in March and while it's only started, I'm not going to invest too much in him now, which is good news for the next interesting heavyweight I can find (Maybe ICHIBEI?)</p><p> </p><p> Rolling into the United Promotions Cup, I originally wanted to have Takehide beat Oda (then Oda getting his win back later), but Takehide's time decline is a lot worse than I thought. So then the plan became for Oda to beat Kato. Oda's gonna lose to van Rijn, but assuming I make it further into the game, basically gonna work up with him to being the eventually next ace after Kintaro I think. EVD, Kintaro, and Juro had a quiet night (bad booking on my part), might need to add another event in March to spice it up a bit. Or at least set up an IC title defense next year. Furosuto did retain against Junichi Matsuo, which is exciting. Also had Ram Diablo go over TOKI INK because I love me some Ram, but at 41, I gotta milk all the time I've got with him before that decline hits.</p><p> </p><p> Processions of Champions sees EVR retain in the main event against Oda, Juro retained against Ram, Kintaro gets one over on Waotaka (mainly to make up for him losing in the IC tournament and the UPJ Cup), Furosuto retained against Hidetsugu (to give him a bit of a boost heading into the BOSJ), and North American Scum pulled the tag belts off of Ignite Zero so I can have a heavyweight team holding them for the rebranding and weight class split of the tag belts.</p><p> </p><p> I'll probably update again after my BOSJ/G1 tour or maybe just when my Hall of Immortals show is done. Ideally I think my main event will be Kintaro taking the strap off of Erik van Rijn and getting a proper ace reign, but I'm not necessarily a big fan of potential back-to-back year long reigns. So I might just have Juro lose the IC belt in August then pick up the UPJ World from Erik in October. A two month reign isn't ideal, but I don't know if I have enough faith in Juro not going on the decline in 2017 to hold off on a proper build. Then again, Juro could just hit the time decline before the G1 and make things a lot easier on me.</p><p> </p><p> Also saw Jon The Goat's post way back in the thread with the Blue Rhino Openweight titles and I'm 100% stealing those. Very excited for when my next post is me fueling my belt addiction and now everyone in UPJ holds a belt.</p><p> </p><p> My Junior Mountain Cup isn't really set in stone yet either. There's no real clear cut ace of the juniors to me. Basically have settled on it either being Goto or Tiger Singh. Might even do that, have one of them beat Furosuto in August then have the two meet at Hall of Immortals. Nathan Jordan might be the long term answer? Maybe spooky ONI who can replace equally spooky Crimson because any good roster has at least 1 spooky man on it. And the tag division is spooky too (and not in a good way), but I've got plenty of time to be worried about that (save me Tokyo Tigers).</p><p> </p><p> Almost crossing my fingers for that Juro time decline come next post.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I'm really curious how you book your shows. Do you use angles at all? What do your touring event cards look like?</p>
  4. <p>I've had pretty good luck meddling to get Silva Dolla and Timothy Hawk to have a friendship.</p><p> </p><p> I'd consider bringing in Luke Graves. He's friends with three different workers and he's not a bad personality to have backstage, that should help things some. It's one worker and it would go a long way toward smoothing things out.</p>
  5. Well I'm three Shockwaves in and holding steady, so thanks for the suggestion on keeping my grades up. Core/Cross has been something of a disappointment on its own but combo'd with Hawk/Dolla it does OK. I also have Giroux, and his new faction The Jet Set, feuding with Immortal Warrior. And VIP has returned to the company and will feud with Patriot. Eye candy matches do wonders for the Starlets division ratings. I'm hoping to beef up their popularity so eventually I can let them cut loose and wrestle for real. Hell Cat is NOT happy about doing eye candy matches.

I might end up opening a second dev as well but I'm holding back for now. <p> </p><p> I couldn't help but to push Shockwave to 2hrs and it still isn't really enough to do everything I want to do. </p><p> </p><p> I need to give Theo an actual program at some point but for now Aftershock is very much a B-show in terms of content with few week to week stories until I start to get really comfortable with the roster. </p><p> </p><p> I enjoy the Dolla Club too much to disband it. I don't think they've got meh members aside from Mo & Tyrannus being extremely negative at the start. Tyrannus can easily grow thanks to being a menace work and Avalanche/Mo Fury perform like upper mids and better than someone like Patriot at the start. Plus the menace <3 </p><p> </p><p> Giroux is early TD so hes still amazing, arguably the best guy on my roster even with the TD penalty. I think he will get some names to his side at the PPV to help him go over Patriot & Warrior, I'm not 100% sure who yet. </p><p> </p><p> Adrienne's a goddess. Her, Mariana, Alexis, Rosa and Jess Hart will be amazing. </p><p> </p><p> I'd rather get them all clean than drop it to a lower level. Almost tempted to bring it to extreme level. The only one I turn off is soft drugs because I have no problems with that. El Angel, the newly crowned TV Champion just got suspended for it (he was mad I suspended him and has seen his personality get worse), Angelo Justice joined him on the suspension line. He had a mini feud with George O'Neil going to decide El Angel's new challenger haha. So I guess it's time for a TV title tournament <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Beautiful Bryce's new partner is Joe Havanna. Joe is super charismatic and I had nothing for him. </p><p> </p><p> My PPV is looking mostly the same as yours. Stone/Fire, Giroux&Partner/Warrior&Patriot, Specialist vs. Bryce/Havanna, Adrienne vs. Alexis vs. Marianna vs. Rosa. Possible a Trillion Dollar Belt defense since TV title will be out of commision and either a Twin Towers or Dolla Club tag match.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Have you caught Garrett South juicing yet? He usually gets flagged in my first couple of shows.</p>
  7. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Bigpapa42" data-cite="Bigpapa42" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41411" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>What is Giroux doing? I've thrown him into a storyline with Immortal Warrior before for easy great angle grades. Giroux is great on the mic, Adrienne helps him, and Warrior isn't bad himself.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Mostly tanking with Patriot, producing C+ rated Entertainment segments. I must be doing something wrong, or else just getting THE WORST random rolls.</p>
  8. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Pteroid" data-cite="Pteroid" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41411" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Make like a hexagon and have a ton of angles</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I've altered the product so that it's 50/50 matches and angles. I have tons of angles. But the problem is that outside of Hawk/Dolla, I can't seem to do better than a B-, which isn't enough to avoid the penalty. And even Hawk and Dolla aren't a guaranteed lock for a B or greater. And this is with angles playing to strengths, so guys like Cross talking and guys like Core being menacing.</p>
  9. Well my AWF game flopped. I just keep getting hit with not enough interesting storylines. Hawk and Dolla are fine, but Cross and Core, Patriot and Giroux both flopped. And the effect it has on the overall card when you don't have enough storylines is so major that it's just demoralizing to keep going. How do you, with the starting roster, get at least two storylines with at least B heat?
  10. <p>All this talk of AWF got me to start a new game. Thanks guys. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> So I always make some tweaks before playing. This go-round, I changed the owner of the company to be Allen Packer, whom I imported from the Cornellverse along with Reverie. In this version, Reverie (a web-based streaming platform akin to Netflix) was looking to acquire a wrestling product and swooped in to buy AWF during the late troubles. </p><p> </p><p> The company went off the air overnight, with Reverie promising a rejuvenated AWF returning at New Year, No Limits, with AWF Shockwave and the post-show Aftershock airing on-demand every Wednesday following. </p><p> </p><p> I took advantage of the month-long downtime to do some hiring and re-arranging. FAW got some new dev talent signed and also a weekly TV show: FAW Stars Of Tomorrow. </p><p> </p><p> My only cut was Super Croak, a character I have literally nothing for; but I did sign some talent. All my signings were either friends or relatives of my current talent and/or locker room leaders who could boost the deteriorating backstage morale. </p><p> </p><p> Speaking of backstage morale, I lied that Super Croak was my only cut. Less than a week into the game, Kelly King cheated on Timothy Hawk with Merengue (who was on my cut list because of his shitty attitude). So I cut both King and Merengue to appease my top star and remove a locker room cancer. </p><p> </p><p> I took the occasion of Merengue's firing to also retire the Television Championship; I've never seen the point of a title like that and since we're an online streaming company it sounds weird to have a Television title. I may introduce the AWF European or Hardcore championships down the road, but for now my plan is to focus on the existing titles. </p><p> </p><p> I'm continuing all three starting storylines (I added Mo Fury to the Hawk vs. The Dolla Club storyline since he's in the stable, too) and also set up feuds for Ricky Fyre vs. Omri Stone, Patriot vs. Jean-Claude Giroux, the Specialists (Nick Hart and Daryl Lance) vs. Force of Nature (The Mountain (Albert) and Avalanche), and Alexis Funk vs. Jazz vs. Claudia, since they are the only three women who move the needle currently. </p><p> </p><p> A lot of my signings aren't going to be featured as stars on the show, but as enhancement talent to put over my stars. But some of the names I plan to actually utilize are Shay Kinsella and Luke Graves, whom I'm putting in a feud together; Kosmo Supreme (whom I may put in a hood to avoid him being associated as a Hart for the time being); Jess Hart, who will naturally take her place at the top of the Starlet's Division after an appropriate period of hype videos; and Wilson Hancock, who will return to feud with El Angel.</p>
  11. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="MarslArts" data-cite="MarslArts" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41411" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Having storylines isn't my first choice usually but I wanted to give it a try this time. <p> </p><p> I haven't advanced further than tuesday, I did some hiring and some gimmick changes, but I'm not quiet sure about a creative direction to start with.</p><p> </p><p> What do I do with the women division?</p><p> </p><p> What's up with the tag teams?</p><p> </p><p> What are you doing with Immortal Warrior and Tower Block ?</p><p> </p><p> Any creative strategic advice is really appreciated.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I book Tower Block like I wish they'd have booked Big Show: An unbeatable monster that you don't defeat, you survive. Basically like how Andre was booked in the 70s and early 80s. Heavily protected losses. Sure he has one foot out the door, but he can still give you some quality matches. </p><p> </p><p> I tend to bring him in for three-month runs. Basically, he shows up, he plows through the roster building up cred until somebody finally, by the skin of their teeth, beats him and he vanishes again for a few months. Then rinse, lather, repeat. </p><p> </p><p> Immortal Warrior spends more time on the mic than he does on the ring. It's where he shines so you might as well play to his strengths.</p>
  12. <p>Started a new game last night. Running UPJ. I've always had a hard time getting into running Japanese feds because I have no head for puro, but the auto-booker neatly sidesteps that issue for me. I've been letting it handle booking tour cards while I focus on roster management. </p><p> </p><p> Apparently, when I set backstage rules requiring wrestlers show up early and dress up, that was an invitation for half the roster to do otherwise. Discipline backstage has plummeted, and unfortunately even my top stars are flouting it. It's gotten a little better thanks to my top road agent holding regular wrestler's court. He's gradually rehabilitating the hooligans.</p>
  13. <p>Taking a break from my Lucha Underground-inspired Luchador Fight Club promotion to take another stab at my "Terry Thunder buys AWF from Ezekial Trillion as Trillion heads to prison" game.</p><p> </p><p> The only major change I made was scrapping the TV/PPV deals and creating my own network (Thunder!) to host all my content as well as a weekly TV show for FAW. I picture Thunder! being a vanity network ala Robert Rodriguez' El Rey or Mark Cuban's AXS TV.</p><p> </p><p> I kept my hiring spree limited to 5 for the main roster and 5 for development, which is downright restrained for me. Joining (or rejoining) the main roster (to provide some necessary mid-to-upper-midcard staying power) is Wilson Hancock, The Ghost Rider, Jess Hart, Jamie Vann and Vincent I. Parker. </p><p> </p><p> My plan is to have Terry Thunder serve as on-screen owner, but to keep his appearances heavily limited to avoid Thunder fatigue and also because face authority figures are very limited in their utility. </p><p> </p><p> I plan on continuing all the existing storylines, plus adding several of my own.</p><p> </p><p> One storyline will see Thunder unveil a tournament called the Showcase of the Immortals, featuring Immortal Warrior, Jean-Claude Giroux, Towerblock and Mountain Albert. Thunder wants to honor the men on who built AWF as the company heads into a new era. All four participants are "legends" of a sort, all former champions who will face off in a four-way match, with the winner receiving a trophy and a shot at the AWF World Championship.</p><p> </p><p> The returning VIP is set to turn on and feud with his old friend and partner Ricky Fyre, El Angel will feud with The Ghost Rider and Omri Stone, Patriot and Wilson Hancock will face off in a three-way feud. </p><p> </p><p> My tag team division is in desperate need of new blood, but I'm reluctant to bring anyone in right now, since I've already got a slate of incoming talent. I'll probably promote Romulus and Remus soon.</p>
  14. What is your strategy for GAMMA in this latest go-round? You've got a nascent super heavyweight division that can't really stand on its own yet. You've got a slightly beefed up fighter roster thanks to FLB's demise and some timely poaching at BCF and XCC. Where do you go from here? How quickly do you bring back Clash of the Titans? How often do you book events, and what do your cards look like? I try to run monthly events, with 12 fights (one in each division for both the main card and the prelim) per card, but then I also tend to run bulky rosters with lots of fresh meat for the grinder. What's your strategy?
  15. I've been watching Lucha Underground on Netflix, so naturally that's where my head is right now. Luchador Fight Club is a pretty thinly veiled and shameless ripoff of LU, but I don't mind. I feel like there's a wide open spot for it, especially since The Club has gone on the decline. I really enjoy the seasonal booking format; I book nine months (Sept.-May) on, three months off, with each season then further divided into four nine-week narrative arcs.
  16. Thanks for the suggestions! I'll have to check when I get home but I think she's available to work.
  17. So. Hell Cat is the star of my Thunderverse fed. I've spent two-and-a-half seasons building her up to defeat VIP and win my promotion's top title. But now, as the midseason finale draws near, she's out injured and won't be back until the season resumes in the spring. Argh. The storyline with her is that she once was a cop whose family was killed by this criminal organization she was investigating. She donned the hood and traveled to this wrestling promotion affiliated with the organization and spent two seasons gradually bringing that syndicate down. This season, she's been persuaded to stay on by promoter Casey Skym, but the now-imprisoned boss of that criminal organization called a hit on her: $1 million to anyone who rips off her mask, exposing her identity to the world. She's spent the first half of season three fending off maskhunters. It was in a match with maskhunter Caleb Adonis that she was injured. My question is, with Hell Cat out until the midseason premier in spring, how do I write her out on the show? I toyed with having a storyline where one of the maskhunters kidnaps her, but to what end? Or I could just announce she's injured and out of action, but that kind of kills the momentum of that storyline. Suggestions?
  18. <p>Traditional and Modern Key; Mainstream, Cult, Daredevil Medium; Comedy, Lucha, Hardcore Low; all others None.</p><p> </p><p> Women's Wrestling set to Integrated, T&A set to Low. Intensity and Danger set to whatever the lowest allowed is, I think 60 percent and 70 percent, respectively. </p><p> </p><p> This is all going off memory. I'll check when I get home and fix this if I'm wrong.</p>
  19. I never really fleshed them out beyond their leaders and the key fighters. I believe The Family was led by Vick Vicious, and was repped by VIP; The Fallen Angels were led by Woo Mercy and repped by Shay Kinsella. Can't remember the names of the other two outfits or who led them, alas.
  20. Glad to hear! I've got a basic three-season arc set for Hell Cat, who is basically the lead character (though VIP is the bigger star). Season one is her pursuit of Uzi Malone, which brings her into the Temple. Just before he gets killed off in the finale, he reveals he was hired by Big Boss. Season two is her pursuit of Big Boss. She mistakenly trusts Detective Scagnetti, whose betrayal leaves her fate in doubt in season two mid season finale, but ultimately she returns and defeats Big Boss, leading to his arrest and the downfall of The Outfit. Season three is when Hell Cat, with some prompting from Skym, finally realizes that she loves wrestling and she's very good at it. She decides to pursue the Zen Master and in the finale finally slays the dragon that is VIP. After that? We'll see.
  21. After fooling around with a PWI game, I decided that I wanted another go at my ZEN game. I was feeling *really* inspired. This time around, same loose premise: Casey "The Zombie" Skym manages to wrangle together enough venture capital to launch a new TV channel, the Zombie Entertainment Network, or ZEN. The network features grindhouse flicks, zany reality shows and, of course, zombie movies. But Thursday at primetime, it's the home to ZEN Art Of Wrestling. Skym is the emcee and on-screen authority figure for the show, which is filmed on location in a custom-built studio arena called "The Temple" (imaginative, I know) in Skym's adopted hometown of Portland, Oregon. Skym plays himself turned up to 11, a Visionary of Violence who built his Temple as a monument to personal combat. Unfortunately, to obtain financing, Skym got in league with a shadowy underworld figure known only as the Big Boss (played by Big Bubba). The Big Boss sees ZEN Art Of Wrestling as a means to accomplish his own nefarious ends, and his organization, "The Outfit," runs the show. Skym and Big Boss often clash over management decisions, with Skym being the vision and Big Boss being the money. One of the main storylines of Season 1 will be their struggle for control of The Temple. Another storyline focuses on Hell Cat and her quest for vengeance against outlaw biker Uzi Malone (played by Revolver Binx). Using the same storyline as before, Hell Cat was once a El Paso police officer Maria Santos until an outlaw biker, Malone, whose gang she was investigating murdered her husband and son. When she learned that Malone was in Portland, fighting in some place called "The Temple," the vengeful Santos donned the hood and pseudonym and set out to get justice. Our headline storyline for the first season, though, is the six-way battle to crown the first-ever Zen Master. Featuring Alejandro Iglesias, Ryotaro Naruto, Adam Massey, Manu Samoa, Wilson Hancock and V.I.P., the finer points of this storyline have not yet been worked out but my plan is to crown VIP (easily my top star and a company icon) as the first champion. I've also got storylines in the works for The Strykers and the Starr Brothers, battling it out to prove who the best brother tandem is, and Angelique (as Black Mamba) vs Jess Hart, in a story of high flier vs master technician. Still working on details there as well. Some other notable signings are Joey Sleaze, cast as Joey Scagnetti, an undercover vice cop turned dirty who works for Big Boss and the Outfit; Richie Santana Jr., the legacy wrestler seeking to step out of his father's shadow; and The Butcher, a ruthless, bloody-minded fighter managed by Brother Blood (played by Aaron Church).
  22. Can you create an alliance for your child promotions? Because if so that's a fun idea. So I took the plunge and started up a PWI game. Copied you BigPapa and opened up four dev feds. But I made each of mine intended to train up a specific kind of wrestler. Called Ring Of Fire ("The future of wrestling is forged in fire: The Ring Of Fire"), because hey I had that logo lying around and it seems like something Allman would like and I'm not above scavenging Cornellverse names, there are four franchises. Ring Of Fire: Great Lakes focuses on producing technically savvy wrestlers. Ring Of Fire: Mid South focuses on producing brawlers. Ring Of Fire: South West focuses on producing high fliers. Ring Of Fire: Tri State focuses on producing women wrestlers. Dropped $1 million to make each of them a large local fed.

I intended to open two, then looked at how many prospects I was signing up and opened two more. The first two were US-based but I decided to open a women's developmental (even though I am not set on opening a women's division at this point) and one developmental in Canada. The funny thing is that I was a bit more restrained in my developmental signings because I avoided some of the "character" talent that are never likely to become strong workers, because they don't really fit the PWI mold. Quite a few are on relatively short deals so if they aren't developing, they will get released. <p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This is a fascinating idea.</p><p> </p><p> Allman smells blood in the water. The ship of AWF is listing badly, now is the time to strike and strike hard. </p><p> </p><p> By investing some coin to open up a bunch of dev feds, Allman is simultaneously denying the competition quality young talent and creating his own little throwback to the territory days. </p><p> </p><p> By scooping up talented youngsters from the other feds, Allman is basically saying that the future of wrestling goes through PWI and, therefore, him.</p>

But I'm toying with starting that idea back up again. Or running PWI because of BigPapa's idea. Or sticking with my "Terry Thunder bought AWF and is going to conquer the world with it" game. GAH!</p>
