  1. Yay for more belts! In support of the GDS-verse I am putting a placeholder here for the Dominion Wrestling Alliance. Specifics to follow in this post when I get back to my laptop that has TEW installed. Thanks!
  2. Dear Lord, but that TCW World Title belt is beautiful. It's the perfect blend of the "big gold" WCW/WWE WHC and the old WWF Winged Eagle World Title belt.
  3. Nominations are now closed. Ballot Thread will be posted over the weekend.
  4. First post has been updated with Anti's and Panix's mentions. Still looking for mod input (via PM please) in regards to whittling down some of the larger categories.
  5. I lol'ed. I have my role now, so you can leave the poor guy alone.
  6. Besides which, aren't you supposed to be getting role PM's sent out rather than kibbitzing with outlaw?
  7. Sorry, mjd, but a cult's win condition is to take over the town just like a mafia, so you can't distinguish based on that. What distinguishes a cult is the fact that it recruits rather than kills. You chose to introduce the possibility of a kill as 'balance' for only allowing an every-other-day recruit. (I put 'balance' in quotes because despite the attempt it was imbalanced against the faction.) Any objective observer would classify nWo as a cult. Folks who weren't involved in the game but read it identify nWo as a cult. You're perfectly within your rights to call it a mafia (and disagree with EVERYONE ELSE that has put forth an opinion on it) and even say "I'm the mod and I say so", but from a game mechanics perspective it functioned as a cult. That's why the nominations were classified the way they were.
  8. Any category that has more than five I think should be trimmed back to five, otherwise there's too much diffusion of votes. Only exception would be Hall of Fame, which I think should be trimmed back to ten. My thought was that the mods could PM to me which nominations they would CUT from any category list in order to have five remaining.
  9. One note about the current batch of nominations: Only two categories seem to be lagging in interest: Best Night Scene and the proposed Best Ending. Unless there's a surge of activity in the next couple of days I think I'll drop these from the ballot. The other side of the coin is that some categories are getting a bit bloated. What I'd like to propose in that case is to have the moderators (SadisticBlessings, mjdgoldeneye, nZane, theoutlaw321, Astil, and i effin rule) give me input to narrow the categories to five maximum nominations each. Please continue to nominate if you feel there are things worthy of consideration, though. Feedback, as always, is appreciated.
  10. After three aborted attempts on my fickle laptop, I have finally gotten the first post caught up. Please peruse the new info there and advise me if I made any mistakes.
  11. Bump to keep on the front page -- keep those Star Wars players in mind for nominations! I'll do an update to the first post after SW wraps up.
  12. Actually not a bad idea, I can update the main page with new dates after Star Wars ends.
  13. It was Night 5, I believe, in the DOTT game. I have updated the first post with additional explanations of categories and current nominations. Please check the thread for accuracy and let me know if I missed something.
  14. Hmm. I actually need to think about this one; my intent (though not well articulated) was for BIP-Mason/Cult to be for non-town/non-mafia factions, i.e. LAW, nWo, MACW, JedCon, etc. But it's also possible for masons to be just plain townies. So which would be the better fit, BIP-Town or BIP-Mason/Cult? Do I need to rename the category for clarity?
  15. I understand where you're coming from, Anti, but as that character was mafia aligned, you would have to nominate him for BIP-Mafia, not BIP-Town.
  16. I looked in the CVerse 2 thread and he didn't play in that one...which game did you mean?
  17. And before anyone else says it... You can nominate Self, the player. You just can't nominate YOURSELF.
  18. Ahem. Didn't think I would need to say this, but in hindsight I probably should have. NO SELF-NOMINATIONS! Honestly folks, if you really were that spiffy, someone will nominate you. Heck, tell your friends to nominate you and nominate them in return. But self-nominations just aren't kosher in my book.
  19. Announcing The First Annual GDS Scummie Awards! Nominations are now closed. Ballot Thread will be posted by Sunday January 13th. Mafia took the Dog Pound by storm in 2007 and in celebration of all those wasted hours the AMPGDSDP (Academy of Mafia Practicioners in the Grey Dog Software Dog Pound) is now accepting nominations for the first annual GDS Scummie Awards! I'll try to emulate the process we've used for diary awards in the past. Post in this thread your nominations and or suggestions for categories. We'll start with the standard catagories as documented on MafiaWiki. Over time, I'll add some clarifying descriptions to the category names -- if you have feedback on how best to define a category, let me know. Since this is the first time we've done this, we'll be making it up as we go along in some fashion. Suggestions, constructive feedback, etc. encouraged. Nominations are now closed. The ballot thread will be posted over the weekend, and voting will continue through 12:00am EST/6am GMT Friday, January 25. SadisticBlessings has offered to assist me with the vote tally so when the time comes for votes please PM both SadisticBlessings and myself. DO NOT SEND VOTE PM's UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO! Thanks!
