  1. <p>People without enough brain cells to function in a human society....</p><p> </p><p>

Today, while at work, I take a phone call. Lady asks for the number to "the mall" in the town about 25 miles from where my store is located (though technically still part of the greater metropolitan area.)</p><p> </p><p>

I tell her I have no way of knowing, as we're a furniture store, and also not located in the town of the place she's looking for.</p><p> </p><p>

She asks if I could look it up for her. Says she doesn't know the number, and is "calling businesses in the area to see if anyone can tell her."</p><p> </p><p>

I suggest she use 411/information. She has the audacity to act like <em>somehow</em> that would be inconvenient.</p><p> </p><p>

Did I mention that this happened while I was on my lunch break?</p>

  2. Birthers.

Look anyone that believes that Obama is from another country is an idiot. The fact that this keeps on popping up amazes me.

If he was born in another country do you really think he could be President?

See, that's their point though. They want him to have been born in another country, so that they can invalidate his whole presidency. As long as they believe he isn't an American, they can keep pretending that everything he does is illegal, and hope to someday "undo the damage" he caused.

Personally I think the whole thing is pretty stupid as well. Also, I don't care. He's no better or worse than any other president the US has had.

American politics in general grind my gears. But I agree with you on this one...that birther crap makes less sense than most of the usual BS they come up with.

  3. Those bids were fake, the highest legit bid is $5

I kind of figured a good portion of those were less than legit, but I had no way of knowing. I'm more interested in the fact that he put it up on the first place and the reasons why. Far as I know, this is the first time something like this has happened, where a sitting champion has tried to sell his belt. Maybe I'm wrong, but for me it's an interesting little thing to follow.

    Edit:

I've heard that he wasn't seriously selling it either, but again I don't know for sure. I don't use twitter, so I'm only relying on what others have told me.

What the hell?<p> </p><p> Let me see I was born in the nation of America, therefore one would assume that my nationality is American. I got into an argument with one of my friends over this. He said he was one hundred percent Italian. I asked him if he was born in Italy, his response was no I was born in America. </p><p> I said do you hold dual citizenship?</p><p> </p><p> His reply was no, so I told him that he was not one hundred percent Italian, he was in fact one hundred percent American. I am not sure why people fail to grasp this concept; if you were born in America you nationality is American. You ancestry might be Italian but you yourself are not Italian. Does this come up in any other country besides over here?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I get this problem a lot. I'm biracial (black and white) and originally from the Midwest. Not a lot of mixed race where I'm from, so I got it a lot. I moved to California, hoping to get away from that issue (among others) and I still get it. Just a couple weeks ago at work I had a customer (who was from India) as me point blank if I was Pakistani.</p><p> </p><p> In my life, people have asked me if I was Indian, Pakistani, Turkish, Puerto Rican, Mexican, and once someone even used a racist term that made me assume he thought I was Korean.</p><p> </p><p> I hate when people ask my nationality. I was born in America, therefore my nationality is American. And if they ask about my "race", it really bugs me, because it is not relevant.</p><p> </p><p> When people feel the need to push the issue, I tend to get a bit heelish, and tell them I'm German, as most of my ancestors are from there. One lady actually said "What are you?" I told her I was human. She got a bit snotty, said, "Well, where are you from?" I told her North Dakota. She got the point...though I lost the sale, in the end.</p><p> </p><p> My older brother gets the same crap, and he lives in Chicago. I don't know about outside the US, but everywhere I've been it's been the same.</p>
  5. What's grinding my gears today is ungrateful employers.

After a year an a half with my employer (during which time increased my day-today hours and number of days worked, as well as took on additional duties) I finally got a raise: $0.50/hr. Considering that it still puts me far under the average rate of pay for the region I work in, I'm a tad bit miffed about it.

I was hired as a floor salesman. I currently handle floor sales, phone and internet sales, all customer service, all advertising and marketing, and even cover in the warehouse when the regular guy leaves early or takes a day off (which is usually once or twice a week.) I've been sick exactly 3 times in 18 months, and have taken a total of less than 10 days off between being sick and my unpaid "vacation". After all this, I told them I needed more money, to reflect the amount of work I do.

My boss tells me that they'll give me the raise, but they want to see more even work out of me, including a short list of things that I already do, but that they don't see because (shock/surprise) I come to work 2 hours earlier than they do, and usually do those things when I get here, rather than wait for them to show up just so they can see me doing it.

That's what grinds my goddamned gears today.

  6. <p>I work in retail, and of all the hell that that entails, one thing above all others gets my blood boiling:</p><p> </p><p>

Customers who think they're entitled to a deal. Half the people who walk into my store, the first words out of their mouth is...what sort of deal/discount can you give me?</p><p> </p><p>

I got a guy right now, ordered some items a couple weeks back. Gets them, takes them home, takes them out of the box...doesn't like the color. Thought it would be darker.</p><p> </p><p>

Somehow this is my fault, and he'll says he'll only keep the merchandise if I'll give him additional items at cost. He didn't even pay for the items...his sister bought them for him as a gift. Now he's emailing me to complain...and so is she.</p><p> </p><p>

    That's what grinds my gears.</p>

  7. Anything that gets MMA out to wider audience is good with me.

With that said, I've refused to cover any promotion that pays Bob Sapp to fight. Now, the world over there are guys who will turn up and get knocked out or tap out in seconds for a quick payday. Trouble is, they're not getting paid five figures for it, and Sapp is.

Personally I think that money could be better spent - maybe split between the fighters who have actually trained more than just lifting weights for a fight, and turn up with the intention of fighting, not just tapping out as soon at they get hit.

So yeah, no Super Fight League for me!

That was my concern when I saw that the headline match was Bob Sapp...he's not a go-to guy for a good fight. I'll admit that at one time I was a fan, but that was before I realized he was an egomaniac and comes across as a bit of a coward when he fights.

I think having someone like Sapp in the main event of their first show could hurt their image. For what they're paying him, I'm sure they could have gotten a better free agent, someone who has some legit skill and hasn't been on a loosing streak, and who would fight with is heart, not his wallet.

I'll probably watch the event if I can, because I'm interested to see some new fighters, but I'll probably skip the main event.

  8. I'm sure I'll catch hell for it, but I'm calling bull on the Sonnen vs Bisping decision. Not saying for sure that the Count had that fight won, but it certainly wasn't a unanimous decision for Sonnen either.

It was a close fight, no doubt, but personally I had that scored for the Count. Granted, I tend to put less weight into take downs, especially when they aren't effective (i.e. the person who got taken down gets back up almost instantly.)

That being said, I'd love to see MORE from both fighters. I wasn't disappointed with the fight, but I wasn't impressed either.

On Rashad vs Phil...I honestly didn't expect it do go the distance. Not surprised by the decision in that one, but I expected to see a finish early on.

  9. Hope Liamo doesn't mind me posting this here, but I didn't know where else to put it, and didn't want to start up another thread just for one post, ya know?

Here's the logo I made for El Día Nacional De Lucha. I use the same one for all the Mexican promotions, no logos attached to them.

I also have one somewhere for Día de los Muertos. Think it's still on my old comp. I'll try to find it if anyone is interested.

  10. I was looking for a good pic of these, but was unable to find any. The only ones I could find were not very good and that was on the CZW website.

If anyone has a fairly large pic of these two or any of the CZW titles, could you please post them.

    Thanks,

It's a hard belt to find a picture of. This is the only half-ways decent one I've been able to locate. Hope it helps.

  11. Out of curiosity, when I start up requests and continue the C-Verse titles, what promotion's titles would you guys/gals like to see first. And what, in your mind, would they look like/be based off of?

Just a little something I was thinking about in between finishing up the '08 renders and doing some studying.

Let me know what you're thinking.

I would love to see something based off of the CZW Ironman/New Horror title belt. Wouldn't even care what promotion, or if it was just a generic. But I've always like that belt, and thought it's style is very fitting with some of the more modern-style promotions in the C-Verse.

  12. A couple quick belt request.

First, a NOTBPW International and International Tag Team belt. I'd like them to look old-school and kinda classy, but anything would be appreciated.

Second, I'd like a military themed belt for my USPW game, where I've worked Bubba Lee West into a main eventer. I'm having him bring in his own custom belt when he wins it off of Erik Strong at Stars, Stripes, and Slams. If possible, I'd like this belt to be based off of the Medal of Valor (picture included).

Any help would be appreciated, and much thanks in advance.
