  1. Thanks for this. Might have to resort to turning him I guess even if he's a natural babyface. I've had him win consistently for months now but his momentum or popularity never improved. He has 80+ SQ too so I believe he's still far from the cap.

Never used this avatar. But as long as the turn is done right (success), it should work. =)

And, off gimmick, any great babyface deserves a heel run in between. ;-)

  2. I'm playing as Jack Avatar and also using him for my fed. He got injured for almost a year when he was cold momentum and now he has very cold momentum. I can't seem to improve his momentum. I've had him win matches even against recognisable and well-known wrestlers but his momentum and popularity (around 50) stay the same. He has a great gimmick which even I changed just to see if that was the issue but to no avail. What seems to be the issue?

Getting momentum back up via wins is hard. But when you turn the character, it resets to neutral. Same could be possible with gimmick change, but I'm not entirely sure about that.

If you don't want a turn / gimmick change, let him win for a while. With time it gets better. Personally I wouldn't waste guys with better pop though. Dev or loan talent also works fine.

As for the popularity, wrestlers with bad momentum barely seem to gain pop. At least that's what I experienced. So, first fix the momentum problem. ;)

  3. I don't understand the current company size/popularity mechanics.

My company just went to Medium size. Despite using an own multi-national broadcaster I don't get an increase in popularity in all areas except the home country.

On the other hand I have a dev company, which uses the same broadcaster does its shows only in one place. But their popuarity increases in other areas.

What is needed to increase size in other areas? I would enjoy some transparence, what I should do.

  4. I prefer the young workers/regens. Anyone, who could have potential and is below 25 goes directly to one of the 15 dev companies.

    I'm not even kidding.

And when even I become annoyed by my huge roster, I go through the skill history and fire the ones, who don't improve. Just to get probably one or two guys out of 100, who is good enough for my rosters Tag Team division. And even they usually have low pop caps.

  5. Simple question; I super enjoy the personality feature. Can they change in-game? I noticed that certain Backstage Incidents (wrestler's court) often result in positive and negative impacts on the target worker, but can they add up to personality change? Are there any other ways for a personality to change in-game?

Ulterior Motive: I have a great worker wit the Scumbag personality. Is there anything I can be doing to support him and maybe make him...less of a garbage person?

    Thanks in advance!

In one game Mr Lucha III developed from Intense to Bully. So, yeah, it happens.

But I haven't managed to improve personality. At least I didn't notice.

  7. I recently hired Dan Stone Jr. as a Road Agent. After that was done I tried to talk him out of retirement, without really believing in success.

Suprisingly he agreed. I still couldn't let him wrestle since his Witzen contract is for non wrestling. - I fixed it by using the editor.

It would still be nice, when "talking out of retirement" also chances the existing contract(s) from non wrestler to e.g. wrestling a limited schedule (A shows only).

  9. I feel in this situation there's no shame in using the editor to make his contract one day. The worker couldn't keep up his end of the deal so in my opinion it makes the contract null and void.

There is no shame in cheating. ;)

Personally I would consider it a challenge. Like when Brian Pillman was hired by WWE and wasn't physical able to deliver.

    He basically screwed WWE.

Maybe you can still use him in promos?

  10. I like the "Talk Into Steroids" option. It's an opening to play as an immoral booker. Maybe I'll do that some day. =)

Btw: I would love chemistries being shown more often. I had wrestlers fight each other in 50 multi men matches, without ever noticing their chemistry. I think, there should be a small probability for chemistries popping up in any match.

    e.g.

    1 vs 1 - 100%

    1 vs 1 vs 1 - 70%

    1 vs 1 vs 1 vs 1 - 50%

    2 vs 2 - 50% single chemistry, 100% tag chemistry of Partner

    3 vs 3 - 10% single, 50% tag team

    And so on...

    Similar for manager chemistries.

  11. Could be a number of things. Have they faced each other before? How long did the matches go on for? How were the shows built before those matches? Did they have enough Psychology (and Stamina if it was long) to keep such a match running smoothly? What Product are you using in your company? Did you have a great match before the OIAL match? (see HBK vs Undertaker 1 at 'Mania to see how difficult it was to follow because the crowd were burned out)

"Once In A Lifetime" matches should be the rarest of rare. Think The Rock vs Hogan, The Rock vs Cena as examples. (or if a Stone Cold vs CM Punk match had actually happened)

It was their first 1-on-1 and the defined rules of this type of match were fulfilled. The rest was standard for me:

    - 15min Main Event

    - a few matches before I did a Show Stealer, as usual (and my shows are mostly 90+ matches, which didn't burn out the crowd so far)

    - they skills were good enough for other matches of that lenght

    - the product is family friendly

At my first attempt I blamed show lenght (4h). But at my 2nd I used my standard 3,5h, which never had hurt my ME grades.

  12. Is there a secret "How To" rule for booking "Once In A Lifetime" matches.

After over 5 game years I finally did my first two matches of that kind with workers I put above 75% Hall Of Fame status.

Both matches were designed to be big Main Events of bin PPVs and both completely sucked. -_-

While my 3,5h usually work fine, in these particular shows I had "burned out crowd" notes.

It seems I did something wrong. But what?

  13. AH, okay. So basically any company I buy out and send wrestlers to I'll have to ensure I keep feeding them talent and support staff? That sounds tedious. Especially when most the people I send away whinge about it.

Hire staff on 10 year deals. Then you won't have to worry for a long time. ;)

Setting up a new company always takes a bit time. True. But after that it's smooth sailing and - if done right - profitable.

And the "whining" hasn't been a problem for me neither. Wrestlers complain about staying in the DC all the time. But I never saw anyone quit about it. And when they are on written contracts, you can do what you want. They can be happy when you don't send them to the mines.

  14. I'm currently playing with a promotion that owns its own internet subscription (huge coverage in the US) broadcaster. I recently held a PPV and I broadcasted it on my own network and on a PPV provider with medium coverage in the US. I got 5mil+ viewers on my network and only 96k purchases on PPV. I was wondering if my network cannibalises potential PPV buys or if it's just low based on other factors like my promotions popularity and the time slot etc.?

    Cheers.

    Well, it should.

I have two TV broadcasters, who partially cover the same areas. IMO the contract with the 2nd reduced the viewership of the first.

  15. I noticed, that regens often get "can't do xxx gimmicks", but rarely gimmick strenghts. IMO there should be a higher likeliness for positive gimmick attributes to appear.

    Or to develop with time.

In general I would find it nice, if regens get more attributes. At the moment they are very limited in that aspect compared to the database workers. It makes empathizing with them harder.
