  1. Thankyou for telling us. Now we understand La Règle du jeu. The High-Low figures Stenncik use, while not the averages, are still correct. They had an actual audience of 1.5, and that did fall to 0.6 Somewhere along the line they lost those viewers. Don't try to say that those viewers don't count, those were viewer who r watched one TNA show to give it a 1.5, and then didn't watch. That 0.6 is 0.9 people who have watched who didn't. Simple as that.
  2. The WWE is regarded by the casual fan (you know, that fan that television makes most of it's money out of) as pro wrestling. Go up to a random person on the street and say TNA. I've actually done it on a night out (admittedly in the UK) and had around 30 blank faces. If Vince "puts his gloves on" then people will go "hey there is an another wrestling company!". By treating TNA like a low-end cult company they become a low-end cult company. That is the media swing. If Vince wanted to he could have some WWE star overdose, and I bet the effect would be worse on TNA then the WWE. Speculation of course, but WWE has the size and reputation to weather the storm, the damage to the image of pro wrestling would sink a lot of indy promotion's and effect the TNA fan base at the root of where it is growing. And according to (Crap, early morning, a news source, somebody google it) the area's TNA are gaining in are the male demographic from 13-39. Isn't that the exact same demographic WWE has decided it doesn't need to appeal to because it can make more money off kids? TNA's problem is that the WWE is so large there isn't really many places they can go. They are pulling solid figures on Monday nights, that's fine, they have that male demographic. But can they really pull off the Huge PPV experiences like Wrestlemania that attract worldwide attention? I am a fan of what TNA is trying to do. But when I watch Slammiversary with a friend I am not getting anything near the level of Wrestlemania. Or is it Bound For Glory that is supposed to be the No #1 TNA PPV? Please don't try to use this against me in your reply because it's early morning and I am rushing, I have places to go. The WWE has the experience and it has the size. If TNA were to jump to a 2. something in the ratings then the WWE still has the time to adapt to draw in the TNA fans before a full-scale TNA war erupts. The WWE are lazy with programming because it's cheap and very profitable. But don't think they know how adapt. Don't think that the WWE product you claim will lead to their downfall will change before TNA will be anywhere near on the same level in rating's and PPV buys.
  3. I've spoken out about Batista in the past. I would actually say he has gotten to the point where he is nearly competent. Is he a good wrestler? No. But since the heel turn he seems to have a new fire to his ring work. I've always believed most wrestlers are better performers when heel. It does show. I still think he's as safe to work with as an active torpedo (he he he... trawlermen) and he is still too stiff. He can't sell for tofee and he struggles technically but he is improving.
  4. It's official, Smackdown moves to Syfy. That means that the deal with MyNetwork went badly (as we all already knew). I'm surprised it ended up on Syfy though, maybe Syfy were keen to bring in some more wrestling after the absolute success of ECW (deceased) and NXT (won't last more than 3 years if lucky).
  5. About eight years sice he begun in the WWE... ...but ten if you include OVW. Cole probably got his figures confused. Gotta expect that from Cole.
  6. I want Swagger to win the World Title. The title's aren't as prestigous as they used to be and many people have a problem witht that. I think it's actually really good business sense, with the 2 brands and using it as a device to build stars as they hold it rather than when they win it. In Giant Redwood's profile it talks about how USPW made less money while he was chmpion. In the WWE they have nearly eliminated that problem.
  7. Class Act the final match. Best Performance I've seen out of Taker in a while. The ending was the sort of thing I expected, they did it with Flair. With the loser basically going "I'm giving up and letting you retire me by hurting me quite badly with your finisher". Glad the Streak didn't end. If it ended, then in fourty-fifty years when people look back on Taker they'll be told about the seventeen years in which it was captivating and one of the most important factors in people buying into many Wrestlemania's, but with a big mark on it. Missed the first hour, bloody Daylight Savings Time. I got down just in time to see Swagger win, which I was surprised about (he was maybe third or fourth on my list of who I thought would win, but with Edge losing it makes sense.) The Women's wrestling disappointed me. It was just a huge botchy vessel from which the WWE could legitimise Guerrero as a heel wrestler. Was Gail Kim this botchy in TNA? I don't remember her being this botchy. Batista and Cena was a good match, if anything it out-performed Edge and Jericho, which didn't have enough speed and energy. Only problem with Cena and Batista is you spent the whole time thinking "S***, somebody is going to have their back broken. This is gonna be brutal...". The way Batista landed was really Over The Top. If Cena makes HHH land on his back when thrown why would the heavier Batista land all the way on his ass? HHH Vs Sheamus wasn't all bad. I do think Sheamus should have won, because the announcers got it into their head's to tell everyone that if Sheamus loses they can't take him seriously as a Main Eventer. Punk Vs Rey was very predictable. I spent half the time gasping as Rey did the moves he always does, the counters he does with such regularity and stood open-jawed in amazement as he managed to win. CM Punk may be one of the better wrestlers and heels around at the moment but if they keep on giving him these losses I don't think people will take him seriously. A Good Wrestlemania on the whole, better than WM25, but WM24 for me was much better.
  8. Nothing like a botchy womens wrestlemania match to force you to order a SHIMMER DVD. botchy botchy
  9. Professional. I was expecting a gimmick match. From what I've heard (drunken banter, so not 100% reliable) they have a problem with the stadium they are using and couldn't get a hell in the cell in. Casket could have worked, I don't see any problems with having that.
  10. this seems to have been overlooked, but is an awesome logo. For me it's better than XWF, because this logo is completely my style.
  11. http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss39/Kamchatka863/RPW.jpg Some of Kammy's work.
  12. I don't think I'll like NXT, for a similar reason to why I didn't like Tough Enough, and why quite a few people did not like ECW. But meh, what do I know?
  13. I'm conflicted over NXT. I'm gonna have to watch it before I right it off though.
  14. Anyone else gonna see The Expendables when it comes out? It sounds the kinda movie that'd go down well on these boards, and I'm very excited to see it. Loving that Stone Cold broke Stallone's neck.
  15. Have you ever worked for the London Dungeons? BTW, nice banners.
  16. Thought I'd posted on it but I hadn't. Colour looks better, makes it feel more custom to the promotion rather than standardised. Awesome PPV logo's, using all of them.
  17. I'm in the same boat, I pretty much agree with most of what you said. Plus "totally called" Edge I think this royal rumble is the perfect example of why peak and valleys are important in wrestling, there was noone who was in a long time, there were surprises (Edge, beth Pheonix) but after predicting Edge (to my friends, on here I said HBK because one of my friends (LIED!) told me that Edge was going in for another surgery, just to throw me off choosing Edge for our bet.) the surprises weren't OMG! huge. The eliminations were too quick and there wasn't a big peak towards the end. My favourite rumble of recent times (post Batista ) was 2008 at MSG, with 2007 getting honourable mention. I was dissapointed they didn't let any young guns have a really long stay, like Rhodes last year. I really thought Ziggler would be one of the last 5 when he first came out. But the lack of HOF nostalgia really let me down, don't Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage have (some) overness and big wallets?
  18. Very Cool Ha, that made me think of the recyling mobile phones advert. "Wonga" EDIT: Not the logo, when I wrote "Cool" The great part about white writing is that when you know when to look for it you know you're a huge nerd.
