Of course, you have dirt sheet notes on, you may know that already.</p><p> I've never fired anyone for it, and I don't feel like it's a massive penalty in my experience, but they are less likely to give you that great main event than others are. it seems like a pretty common quality.</p>
  4. Yep, I've checked the preferences, and nothing changed. I don't really want to have to look through histories for every match I book, so maybe this save is just shot. Thanks for your reply.
  5. Suddenly, in my save, I am no longer getting repetitive booking warnings when I create matches that clearly fall within the criteria. Does anyone know why this would have happened, or how I can fix it?

I had the same thought as you had about not understand what the point of TV shows. What I started to notice was if you only did events and replaced your TV shows with events what would happen is the average attendance per event would continually go down compared to what the attendance would be for the events if you just had 1 a month. Whether this approach is still better then the weekly TV show in terms of getting money I don't know. </div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I noticed a decrease in attendance, and I wasn't sure if this was why, but it feels like it has leveled, and the events are still making way more money. I am at Cult, and I can either go bankrupt running TV shows, or I can run televised events with an attendance of maybe 7,000 instead of 8,000, and make a profit.</p><p> The guide says that there is no penalty for multiple events in the same location in one month, but if there is a penalty for televising them, it has still been far better to take the attendance ding and make some money.</p><p> If I notice the attendance getting far worse, I'd certainly stop televising the events, but I'm not worried right now.</p><p> I still have both deals with the network. I don't plan on dropping either until I'm certain of the ramifications.</p><p> </p><p> This discussion was never about PPV's, but to respond to the poster that mentioned them, yes, your PPV revenue tanks if you run a lot of them, but I don't. I run one every month. The rest is Commercial TV.</p>

Wonder if it is enough to off-set the 50% less revenue and the popularity loss</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> As someone who is running a weekly event and a weekly TV show with the same company, at the same length, in the same area, with the same commercial broadcaster, I can tell you that the event still makes way, way more money than the TV show.</p><p> I am at early Cult, and my weekly televised events keep me afloat, while my TV shows hardly make any money. Besides, the events pay me commercial money as well, though it may not be the same amount. Costs may be lower with the TV show, but the end result is that the events make far more money. In fact, that it's what originally prompted me to ask this question. I'm not seeing the purpose of having the TV show, and it seems like a lot of you agree, though the point about worker popularity changes is worth noting.</p>
  8. For me, it almost feels more like a fix than a hack, because I've never understood why a TV show would draw less fans. if anything, I'd think more fans would go to show that was going to be on TV. I get that a lot of wrestling companies have done their TV shows in arenas that are essentially TV studios with some bleachers. but my assumption is that is because they know they can't book and fill a place like Allstate, or MSG, or Staples every week. However, if I can draw 7,000-8,000 with weekly events in my GCG save, then I don't see why I'd use a smaller arena.
  9. I've never used Spectacle, but when I get a bonus from Epic, it's because the workers have high enough psychology to pull it off (B-, maybe B or more). I reserve it for matches between two top, highly skilled performers.
  10. If you create your own broadcaster as a promotion, can you make it bigger later, or would you have to create a new, bigger one?
  11. The creator was working on it for 2016, but i believe RL issues have held him up.
  12. Yeah, I didn't double check, but that's what i remembered. I've also seen Lars Brecher do it. They are both tough, so with Gargantuan, that would seem to be the common thread. I've played with Nigel in TEW since 2010, and I've never seen him complain about a booking, or pay, or anything, or have a negative incident of any kind, so it was funny to see him scare somebody into jobbing.
  13. Wow. That's unfortunate, but it's interesting how two saves can be so different. So far, my only age declining workers are Jimmy Cox and Merle O'Curle. O'Curle is a jobber who is there to help the young guys, so he is not a problem, but I'm going to have to start moving Cox down the card. Hyobanshi is head and shoulders above everyone else, even Gakusha.

Try again another time.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I don't know what stat makes that happen, because I've seen Nigel Svensson intimidate workers into taking a loss, and while he would probably be a legit tough guy, he's pretty much a teddy bear in the locker room. I can't imagine him hurting a flea. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

TV shows are a more gradual thing.<p> </p><p> Popularity and money aside, having a TV show means more chances for your talent to work, as you don't have to cram pretty much everybody into the single monthly show. It also means more chances to develop their skills and gain popularity, especially if we're talking angles.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Events can be annual, monthly, or weekly. In addition to my monthly PPV, I run weekly events that last one hour, and I have a contract with a commercial broadcaster for them to appear on TV. They build my popularity just like a TV show does. I also have a weekly TV show, but it is looking pretty pointless, because it only draws half the gate as the weekly events.</p>
  16. GCG is not a touring company in 2016. I have televised weekly events and a TV show, but the TV show only draws half the gate, so I'm wondering what the point of it is over televised events.
  17. Golden Canvas Grappling, May 2016 World Heavyweight - Toshiharu Hyobanashi World Openweight - Kill Switch (Frankie Perez) World Heavyweight Tag - Black Iron Corps (Fujio Narahashi and Azumamaro Kita) Frankie is headed hard an fast toward the main event scene, and I think I'm going to have to open up the top title to non-heavyweights.

The simplest solution though, is to just give them a bonus, if you can spare the cash.</p>

Kikkawa won my single elimination tournament, Carnival of Battle, and defeated Gakusha for the title. This is his first defence, his next one is happening just before my G1 equivalent, Spirit Ignition, and he's going to drop the title to...</p><p> </p><p> Razan Okamoto, who finally agreed to bulk up to middleweight so I could put my heavyweight title on him. The title has bounced between Hiroyasu Gakusha, Raymond Diaz and (now) Kikkawa for the last two years, so it'll be great to have a champion who's a young up and comer. I had him lose the Openweight title (my other main event title, which, as the name suggests, is open to everyone regardless of weight) in December and then reach the finals of Carnival of Battle, only to be defeated by Kikkawa. Now he's on a winning streak and is coming for Kikkawa. I have lots of stories in mind for him - he's 2-2 with Gakusha, 1-1 with Raymond Diaz, will be 1-1 with Kikkawa, 1-1 with Mabuchi Furusawa, etc., and with guys like SATO, Helikaon and Tsuneyo Yanagimoto just waiting to take the step to the next level for a world title shot.</p><p> </p><p> Buckshot are Greg Gauge and Helikaon (KC Glenn). They've elevated the tag titles to 100 prestige, total main event titles, to the point where I'm considering adding a round robin tag league to my yearly schedule, or at least a PPV where the tag titles get to headline. Helikaon is also regularly voted the best worker in the world.</p><p> </p><p> e: Named Buckshot because Gauge is the leader of my Gaijin stable, 12 Gauge. Get it?</p><p> </p><p> Currently making money, #1 in Japan but with plans for a bigger expansion as soon as I have the cash to create a broadcaster, or one of the big worldwide streaming services opens up.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Where is Hyobanashi? I'm only in 2016, but he is my figurehead right now, putting on great matches with A and A* ratings for his part.</p>
  20. What is the benefit of having a TV Show over just televising your events? I'm running Golden Canvas right now, and I have a PPV contract with a PPV broadcaster, then a televised event contract and a TV show contract with the same Commercial broadcaster. The TV Show draws half the gate, hardly breaks even on money, and has limits on time. The events make me as much ticket money as a PPV, and are still televised, so why would I want to have TV Show instead of or in addition to weekly televised events?
  21. I usually play smaller performance feds, so my first projects will be Nigel Svensson, Merle O'Curle, etc. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I'm going to start a cult sized company, with a similar product to GCG & BCG (Cornellverse). On touring months, I was planning on this set-up:<p> * 1 Weekly Tour Event (Television for tour highlights)</p><p> * 1 Weekly live TV Show</p><p> * 1 Monthly PPV Event/Tour wrap up show</p><p> </p><p> Thoughts? Would it be better to run 2 weekly tour events and scrap the live TV show? Would it be possible to run 3 events per week, or would the product be too physically intense?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I am not touring, but I am running this schedule with GCG. I am making money, and the workers seem to be fine with the workload, but the events and the TV show are only an hour, so I don't use everyone on them.</p><p> The TV show is good for popularity, the weekly events are good for money, and the monthly event is a giant money maker, as I have a PPV contract. I hired quite a few of my workers to written contracts, so my wage bill is high, but this setup is working right now, and it means I can throw my main eventers wherever I want without incurring more expense.</p><p> </p><p> It appears that the Japanese C-Verse workers are much tougher than the ones you find in other areas, because I've run Puro feds in the US and Europe, and it was not uncommon for 5 or 6 workers to be fatigued after each show. It's usually one at most with GCG, and it's never a Japanese one. I play with injuries on high, and it's even pretty rare to have those.</p>
  23. After the first 4 matches, it was shaping up to be a show for the edges. The last 3 were progressively worse, ending in the toilet.
