1. I disagree strongly with that last bit. Cena has put over many different people in his promos and it's not just to bring attention to himself.

The biggest example is Zack Ryder. As big as Ryder was getting online, I doubt anything would have come of it if not for Cena, the biggest name in WWE, tweeting his support for Ryder to get on Raw. And Cena's storyline involvement with Ryder and Eve didn't kill Ryder's push. What killed Ryder's push was creative doing absolutely nothing with him after that storyline ended.

Cena doesn't bury people, Cena does the job that he is told to do. Vince buries people. You never hear stories about Cena the way you did Hogan or Nash or even Stone Cold. He doesn't walk out if he doesn't get the W. He doesn't politic to get his storylines changed so he looks stronger. He does what he's told.

He's only legitimately 6'3. Orton's 6'4 legitimately and sell fine. Taker and Kane can both sell pretty damn well when they want to. He just never took the time to learn to sell.

  4. Quick Question... you know the "Grindhouse Double Feature" thin Tarantino/Rodriguez did some years back? Same cast for both flicks, both filmed at roughly the same time? There a way two companies could come together and do that with some kind of workaround around the 1-movie per actor per day dealio?

Plot- Police Commissioner Krasinski[DeVito], a veteran of the force has had it. All those years he sat and watched the system fail, sat and watch as known criminals walked free, and being completely helpless to stop them. After he finally manages to put away one of their own, his family pays the ultimate price. Now, in an act of desperation he contacts former friend, a cop-turned-assassin Angelo Perez[Garcia] to help with his problems. Ten thousand dollars to rid LA of its most powerful crime lord, Lorenzo Vincente[Liotta] and "make that dirty son of a bitch suffer". Through the movie, Garcia stalks his prey, learning his habits trying to find the man at his most vulnerable, but a problem arises. Vincente is never alone. Angelo finds out the only way to help his friend... is to go to war with Vincente's entire gang.

With the realization, Angelo figures out the plan and starts preparing, getting things ready for the big showdown. After preparations are made, he sleeps on the roof overlooking one of the gangs hangouts and waits. Just as some of Vincente's men are coming into the location... BOOM! A bomb that Angelo had set blows up, leveling the base and killing several of Vincenete's men. Unfortuantely, Vincente's time of arrival was a few seconds after the bomb went off, and he drove away like a bat out of hell. This made Vincente have to protect himself even more than usual, now having armed guards with him almost 24/7. Angelo and Krasinski had a meeting and he told Krasinski that it seemed to be an impossible mark and apologized, telling him he would have to forfeit this task. Just as he's leaving Krasinski calls him back into the office. He has an idea.

During this time, Vincene is torturing all kinds of people trying to find who tried to kill him. Cops, gang members, and even his girlfriend all get tortured as he tries to push his way into finding out who failed to kill him. One of the cops cracks and mentions that Krasinski's been wanting Vincente's head since his family was murdered. Meanwhile, Vincente is called into court. In a case involving Krasinski. Vincente sees this as the perfect opportunity to get rid of Krasinski. During the court meeting, where Krasinski is trying to prove Vincente was the killer, one of Vincente's men confesses to killing Krassinski's family, then proceeds to pull out a gun and shoot Krassinski himself. Angelo is watching from the back of the court the entire time. Once Krassinski is dead, he leaves himself. The judge has no choice. With the confession and nobody to testify against Vincente, he is proclaimed innocent of the crimes. Once Vincente leaves the court room, a free man with a huge smile on his face, it finally happens. Angelo rushes him and stabs him right in the stomach, before making a getaway in Krasinski's car, which was left running. The movie ends with the cop who ratted to Vincente and Angelo in a diner. He slips Angelo an envelope telling him he was instructed to give it to him if and when Vincente died. Without another word, Angelo takes the envelope and leaves, driving off into the distance.

  11. Just ended here roughly 20 minutes ago... There may not have been much wrestling but I loved the ENTIRE show. (Aside from the abyss/gunner "match"). This show is a prime example of "angles definitely helped lifted this show as a whole." The angles flowed nicely enough and kept enough of a pace that the lack of wrestling didnt matter that much.... and this is coming from a guy whos hated TNA(to the point of not watching it) and just about everything thats happened since Hogan/Bischoff took over.

Also Hogan has still got "it" on the mic

  12. He definitely lacks the size that is typical for a main event level star. So do most of the X division guys. He's listed as 225 pounds, but I seriously doubt he's much above 210-215. That said, he is capable of putting on some quality matches, plus he has great charisma and works the mic fairly well. The charisma and mic skills mostly came across when he was mimmicking other workers, but at least its there. I can't say he's unable to have that same charisma and mic appeal in other situations, because I don't think TNA really allowed him to even try - has he been given any on-air mic time at all since that Flair feud?

Not seeing his appeal is fine. But saying he had his chance and blew it... I just don't see it. It really comes across as a wasted opportunity to me. I recall the Flair-Lethal segments as being great. He had some strong matches against guys like AJ Styles in that feud. He was probably the hottest thing TNA had at that time and fans online seemed to be buzzing about it. Then they did zero to take advantage. They just put him right back into the same situation he had been in before - just another X Division guy... and the X-Division was not and is not a focus for TNA.

Its bad enough when a promotion refuses to take advantage of a situation that simply happens outside their intent - like the WWE doing nothing with Zach Ryder despite his popularity. This is worse, because TNA made an obvious and overt effort with Lethal. It worked, and then they not only didn't capitalize, but seemed to sabotage it by putting Lethal back into the same situation he had come from. It made the entire effort that was put into the Lethal-Flair build a complete waste. Making use of that would not have necessarily meant using him as a main event star, but simply making better use of what was gained. Even what TNA is doing now with Bully Ray would be better - its not like Ray is about to win the world title or main event PPVs, but they make use of the character and its heat.

When people complain about TNA and call their management inept and such, its stuff like this which makes that look true.

He reminds me alot of Jericho. When they had been pushing Lethal against Flair, I thought they were gonna turn Lethal into TNAs Chris Jericho.
