People seem to think, when I opened APW 7 years ago, that I was just a guy with a little money and an idea to make more. They thought that I believed doing this was easy. And maybe those people would be right. But what those people don’t see is that I also did it because it was a dream. For a couple short years I was on top of the world. I ran the top wrestling company in Australia. But what I also did, was I put wrestling on people’s radar.

I put it on the radar on TV executives everywhere. And if I had as much money as people thought I did at the time, I probably would have been able to take advantage of that. But one man had the bright idea. Some would say he had the same idea I did. Some might even say it was a better idea. He was able to convince the TV station to open its own wrestling promotion. They wouldn’t have to pay costs to a promoter, and they wouldn’t have to worry about the promoter moving to another network. And what they have proceeded to do is disgrace wrestling. Tristram Day can go to hell for writing the worst action movie ever with no fight scenes, then trying to pass it as a wrestling show. The guys to our south at least have the decency to give a damn about what they are doing. It might be worse than even the stuff Aussie Rules did in their day, but they have a soul. A slightly twisted soul, but it’s there.
