They thought that I believed doing this was easy. And maybe those people would be right. But what those people don’t see is that I also did it because it was a dream. For a couple short years I was on top of the world. I ran the top wrestling company in Australia. But what I also did, was I put wrestling on people’s radar.

I put it on the radar on TV executives everywhere. And if I had as much money as people thought I did at the time, I probably would have been able to take advantage of that. But one man had the bright idea. Some would say he had the same idea I did. Some might even say it was a better idea. He was able to convince the TV station to open its own wrestling promotion. They wouldn’t have to pay costs to a promoter, and they wouldn’t have to worry about the promoter moving to another network. And what they have proceeded to do is disgrace wrestling. Tristram Day can go to hell for writing the worst action movie ever with no fight scenes, then trying to pass it as a wrestling show. The guys to our south at least have the decency to give a damn about what they are doing. It might be worse than even the stuff Aussie Rules did in their day, but they have a soul. A slightly twisted soul, but it’s there.

If it’s the last thing I do… RAW will perish…

-

Not going to lie, the Jack Griffith render a few posts back is getting him a few bookings from me. Not taking anything away from the rest of the great renders on the past few pages, but that finally made the connection for me for who he is. -

Wow. Now I feel like I need to make these two the greatest tag team in Australia. If only they had talent to match these renders. Still might try it someday. -

I could have sworn Elgin is only 24 or 25. But he does have the Arn Anderson look so he looks like he's almost 40.

The Official TNA / Impact / GFW Discussion Thread

Last night seemed like a good show, though that was the first one I've watched in at least a year. I just watched because Joey Ryan was going to be on. It was a lot better than I expected. -
I never really had a problem with Bennett, so I may not be the best to comment, but the match with Storm was solid. Bennett hasn't really made marked improvements, but it seems like his heat has gone from "You can't wrestle" heat to the useful kind of heat, or at least it seemed that way at the last couple iPPVs. I guess he may have, and I just don't see it.

I'm guessing you didn't watch the show. All the matches were great, I loved Bryan getting his little, "I have 'til 5" deal in for his match, and Cena put Lesnar over huge in their match. Lesnar might have gone for a pin early, but he never really tried to put him away and if it weren't Extreme Rules, Cena would have been out for the 10 count 2 or 3 times. Also, if Cena didn't screw up his arm lifting Lesnar in the kimura I'm really impressed. That looked nasty and awkward. All in all a really really good show. -

Heath Slater might have gotten more mic time at Mania than he has all year combined. -

Did I just pay to see that? -
Wow, that does suck. I got the stream back in time to hear the announcement of gong to intermission, and got about the first half of the street fight or so. Then came back in time to catch the end of Bennett's speil. They probably took that bit of the street fight out to avoid everything looking weird, and salvage some footage hopefully. Or something.
-
They came back from intermission with it. I think it cut out a bit of the ending of it too, because I dont remember the ending.
-
Yeah, screen just went black. Lights were on in the arena and all that so I'm thinking they'll still have the footage for replays and DVDs but nobody outside of the arena saw anything other than the entrances.
-
It just finished up. A few burps in the stream today as well as they "lost power" for about 20 minutes and lost the entire O'Rielly/Cole match. Main Event was worth the money though. Good wrestling, even though the vast majority of the show came off amatuer with the production of it.
-
The quality of this show streamwise has been absolutely terrible. Watched Steen vs. Generico on mute, and it was still awesome, might even stick it out through the main event, but I wont bother to turn the volume back on I dont think. Never had these troubles when all ROH had was iPPV, but it seems like as soon as they got back on TV every iPPV theyve done has had some issue. The matches themselves have been very good, but its really frustrating how amatuer this show looks.

Yeah, I'm with WC there. Santino doesn't need that win. He's the perfect "jobber to the stars" so to speak. -

Worst match on last? Sure seemed like it. Both chamber matches were solid. And I loved the Santino stuff myself. Maybe I'm not taking this serious enough, but Santino was definitely getting the biggest reaction from the crowd. 1st half of it was good stuff, died off in the end. -

That one? Sounds like Ron Trongard of AWA fame honestly. But I dont know of him working for WWF, so I'm not sure. I'm not really an expert though as I was only 2 months old when this match was taking place. -

I just going to quote a little nugget of info that I found on former WWE writer Dave Lagana's twitter. Kinda sums up the current state of the WWE. There's a time and place for hotshotting titles, but 8 changes in 2 and a half months? Gracious. Not quite sure if they are trying to show that all 3 are equally matched or what, but I'm not 100% sure its working anymore. -

I have, and I'd say it tops damn near everything he did in WCW and onward. (Excluding those couple matches where the crowd took over in the moment, vs. Rock at Wrestlemania for example) I dont think it tops his stuff with Macho or with DiBiase really, but the match was far better than it ever should have been. -
