Not going to lie, the Jack Griffith render a few posts back is getting him a few bookings from me. Not taking anything away from the rest of the great renders on the past few pages, but that finally made the connection for me for who he is.

Wow. Now I feel like I need to make these two the greatest tag team in Australia. If only they had talent to match these renders. Still might try it someday.

I could have sworn Elgin is only 24 or 25. But he does have the Arn Anderson look so he looks like he's almost 40.

Me either, til' last night.... Thus the question was to those that are watching it NOW.
Last night seemed like a good show, though that was the first one I've watched in at least a year. I just watched because Joey Ryan was going to be on. It was a lot better than I expected.

I finally get to watch Showdown in the Sun tomorrow and it will be the first ROH show I've watched since the HDnet days.
I absolutely hated Mike Bennett. I remember him being awful, but he faces one of my all time favorites at that show. Has he gotten any better? I'd like to know what I'm getting into.
I never really had a problem with Bennett, so I may not be the best to comment, but the match with Storm was solid. Bennett hasn't really made marked improvements, but it seems like his heat has gone from "You can't wrestle" heat to the useful kind of heat, or at least it seemed that way at the last couple iPPVs. I guess he may have, and I just don't see it.

Super Cena all over again??? God, i think i'm going to quit watching WWE. I'm done with them! Cena always wins. it's boring, it's washed up and making Lesnar return to lose his debut match isn't that smart of a business move. I'm done. Predictable ppv in every line and every single match...and the only surprise, Cena's win, comes out when it shouldn't! WWE sucks!
I'm guessing you didn't watch the show. All the matches were great, I loved Bryan getting his little, "I have 'til 5" deal in for his match, and Cena put Lesnar over huge in their match. Lesnar might have gone for a pin early, but he never really tried to put him away and if it weren't Extreme Rules, Cena would have been out for the 10 count 2 or 3 times. Also, if Cena didn't screw up his arm lifting Lesnar in the kimura I'm really impressed. That looked nasty and awkward.
All in all a really really good show.

Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins made that segment a whole lot more "WTF." Good to see Slater still jobbing to everyone though.
Heath Slater might have gotten more mic time at Mania than he has all year combined.

Did I just pay to see that?

...now that I think about it, I don't think there even was an intermission on the replay.
The replay feed cut out during TJP/Fire Ant, and came back in the middle of Bennett cutting a promo. I guess more was missing than I thought.
Wow, that does suck. I got the stream back in time to hear the announcement of gong to intermission, and got about the first half of the street fight or so. Then came back in time to catch the end of Bennett's speil. They probably took that bit of the street fight out to avoid everything looking weird, and salvage some footage hopefully. Or something.
-
When did the second ANX/Young Bucks match happen? I was watching the replay earlier but had problems with my internet during the Lethal/Roderick match and wasn't able to finish. Did they squeeze it in in between the TV and World title matches, or did I miss something?
They came back from intermission with it. I think it cut out a bit of the ending of it too, because I dont remember the ending.
-
Damn it. I assumed it was the same as yesterday. Herp Derp.
What happened with the Cole/O'Reilly match? Did the stream just cut out? If that's the case glad I didn't watch it live, that would have ****** me off. Hopefully the footage still exists and can be salvaged for the replays.
Yeah, screen just went black. Lights were on in the arena and all that so I'm thinking they'll still have the footage for replays and DVDs but nobody outside of the arena saw anything other than the entrances.
-
The second show was well underway before you posted that, 1234. It should be over by now, I imagine.
It just finished up. A few burps in the stream today as well as they "lost power" for about 20 minutes and lost the entire O'Rielly/Cole match. Main Event was worth the money though. Good wrestling, even though the vast majority of the show came off amatuer with the production of it.
-
The quality of this show streamwise has been absolutely terrible. Watched Steen vs. Generico on mute, and it was still awesome, might even stick it out through the main event, but I wont bother to turn the volume back on I dont think. Never had these troubles when all ROH had was iPPV, but it seems like as soon as they got back on TV every iPPV theyve done has had some issue. The matches themselves have been very good, but its really frustrating how amatuer this show looks.

Santino really should have been given the victory there....the man is over like no one else. If anything Daniel could have used his rematch to get the belt back on Smackdown and then gone into Mania against Sheamus.
Yeah, I'm with WC there. Santino doesn't need that win. He's the perfect "jobber to the stars" so to speak.
-
Worst match on last? Sure seemed like it. Both chamber matches were solid. And I loved the Santino stuff myself. Maybe I'm not taking this serious enough, but Santino was definitely getting the biggest reaction from the crowd. 1st half of it was good stuff, died off in the end.

Question of the older fans, I was watching an MSG match from the 1980's between Bad News Brown and Randy Savage. Anyway, I was wondering who the commentators for that show were.
I know one was Hillbilly Jim and the other was Lord Alfred Hayes. The third guy is who I would like to know. I know that is not much to go on but I was thinking that maybe the MSG shows had the same commentators each show and so therefore someone might know who it is I am talking about.
That one? Sounds like Ron Trongard of AWA fame honestly. But I dont know of him working for WWF, so I'm not sure. I'm not really an expert though as I was only 2 months old when this match was taking place.
-
I just going to quote a little nugget of info that I found on former WWE writer Dave Lagana's twitter. Kinda sums up the current state of the WWE.
WWE Title changed hands 8 times times in the last 78 days. 1978 to 1989 the WWE Title changed hands 7 timesThere's a time and place for hotshotting titles, but 8 changes in 2 and a half months? Gracious. Not quite sure if they are trying to show that all 3 are equally matched or what, but I'm not 100% sure its working anymore.
-
I've never seen the match, but I find it hard to believe that it was better than some of the big matches he had at his peak.
I have, and I'd say it tops damn near everything he did in WCW and onward. (Excluding those couple matches where the crowd took over in the moment, vs. Rock at Wrestlemania for example) I dont think it tops his stuff with Macho or with DiBiase really, but the match was far better than it ever should have been.
-
Unbelievable. That was a main event delivered.
-
Wow... I really hope Cena can hold up his end of the bargain here. Punk is ready. The crowd is unreal. This needs to be great.
-
Talking about putting Del Rio over. Holy cow.
-
the crowd goes wild for the MIZ! What am I watching?
-
Ouch, Miz's knee just went the way of Jim Cornette. Its been good havin you around Miz.

People seem to think, when I opened APW 7 years ago, that I was just a guy with a little money and an idea to make more. They thought that I believed doing this was easy. And maybe those people would be right. But what those people don’t see is that I also did it because it was a dream. For a couple short years I was on top of the world. I ran the top wrestling company in Australia. But what I also did, was I put wrestling on people’s radar.

I put it on the radar on TV executives everywhere. And if I had as much money as people thought I did at the time, I probably would have been able to take advantage of that. But one man had the bright idea. Some would say he had the same idea I did. Some might even say it was a better idea. He was able to convince the TV station to open its own wrestling promotion. They wouldn’t have to pay costs to a promoter, and they wouldn’t have to worry about the promoter moving to another network. And what they have proceeded to do is disgrace wrestling. Tristram Day can go to hell for writing the worst action movie ever with no fight scenes, then trying to pass it as a wrestling show. The guys to our south at least have the decency to give a damn about what they are doing. It might be worse than even the stuff Aussie Rules did in their day, but they have a soul. A slightly twisted soul, but it’s there.
