  1. Future Bouncer at Jimmy's Bar -n- Grill maybe... Where's Homicide anyway? He still in TNA? They should of kept him when LAX split... Mexican American s***s...their big flag gimmick s***s...and Sarita (Sarah Stock) is Canadian...which to my knowledge is neither Mexican or American... Just Saying
  2. Think if it had been game 7 I'd rate it above some of the others, but a game 7 has vibe that's hard to match...still incredible game, hope tonight is atleast almost as good
  3. It has to be up in the top 5 or 10 to be sure...I rarely watch baseball but I turned it on mid-way through to check the score and wound up watching it to the end...considering I have no real reason to root for (or against) either team I was enthralled (Game 7 of 2001 - - - Arizona 3-2 over the Yankees for me may have been a bit better but it's a toss up)
  4. The War Ain't Over --- Long Live Dixie !! Now that the south has discovered the inter-webs nuttin' can stop us MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!
  5. What? Just kidding...still when your boss is talking to you and a few other wrestling fans, breaking out the 'what' during the morning meetings is a blast!! Could be why I gotta get a new job every few months though
  6. It's been @ 18 years since the Cincinatti Bengals won a playoff game... It's been @ 19 seasons since the Pittsburgh Pirates had a winning record... The Pirates have had some nice drafts during that stretch too Just saying
  7. NFL rules state that if Cincinatti doesn't release or trade Palmer this year...he will be a free agent next season...why why why why why would the Raiders trade two first round picks for Palmer? Guess it's better than your whole draft for Ricky Williams...barely Oh well, as a Steelers fan I can be comforted by the fact the Bengals will screw up the picks as bad as the Raiders would have (Edit: As I type this, ESPN is reporting that the Raiders have acquired Palmer from the Bengals)
  8. http://www.youtube.com/user/dgpgh72?blend=22&ob=5#p/a/u/1/wzBEfPjGyzU a very rough draft of one of my band's originals
  9. I tend to avoid these conversations because I'm not really the type to complain if I don't like a storyline, but a few observations from the last few days of WW_ programming: - Not sure what they are doing with Mark Henry...Not a dig at him, I like Mark Henry, but when a heel challenger cleanly pins a face champ it's usually to set up a different face stepping in to get the heel ... does this mean the 'Age of Sheamus' is upon us? Cena unifiying the belts? 'Cause Randy Orton coming back to beat Henry clean next month is kinda...dumb - Not really a Del Rio fan but yeah, building him up to tear him back down that quick is odd. I know the "Good Guy" should win in the end but did Del Rio even make one defense of the belt? Even a tainted win? A count-out loss? Atleast Rikishi coulda run over Cena with Del Rio's car... something, anything ... IDK maybe something is going on backstage but seems like a waste - The WW_ has spent the last year tailoring itself to the kiddies...then they go with a convoluted CM Punk 'Shoot promo'...Johny Ace & Kevin Nash conspiracy...HHH is the boss...is it the 'NEW' nWo or isn't it storyline that quite honestly I'd imagine totally and completely confuses and bores the living s*** out of anyone under the age of 14 Sadly as the Johnny Aces, Triple H's and Stephanie McMahons take over in Stamford, the 'art' of wrestling may die, leaving only "Sports Entertainment" in it's place...There seems to be no psychology, no storytelling in their product...just 'high spot...big turn...celebrity appearance...Cena or Orton wins...repeat formula..." Hopefully the whole CM Punk/Triple H story proves me, and many others, wrong but for now, RAW just looks like a variety show with some wrestling thrown in to keep us watching...I'll be on YouTube watching some old GCW or NWA clips until they get things fixed... Of course that's just my opinion...I could be wrong
  10. So does this mean that Randy Orton was a "transitional champion" used to get the belt from 2 time champion Christian on to Mark Henry Am I the only one who misses "Sexual Chocolate"? Congrats to Mark Henry though
  11. So last night TNA Impact Wrestling Thunder from Disney Orlando Studios or whatever it's called aired what was meant to be an "epic encounter" between Sting & Ric Flair...and on a forum full of die hard wrestling fanatics, not a single comment about it here...ouch So since I rarely get a chance to watch TNA, heres a few random thoughts from last night's show, the first I've seen in months... - Let's get this out of the way....It wasn't all that bad really - Missed the first half of the show, turned it on during Velvet vs Love...If AC Slater got implants, he'd look like Angelina Love - Velvet Sky actually took the time to learn how to wrestle...I applaud her - Jeff Hardy should not be anywhere near a TV show until he's tested clean for 6 months minimum...10 days in jail? If he was poor it's be atleast 3 to 5 years - While I generally think "shoot" promos and insider angles do more harm than good long term to pro wrestling, both Devon and (especially) AJ Styles cut great promos on the Hardy situation - OK, I know it's their job to talk and call the matches but seriously, @Taz & Tenay...STFU!! Now and then, just for a few seconds...just...shhhhhhhhh...breath...there ya go - I'm almost positive that TNA is piping in background crowd noises...'course couldn't tell for sure...since Taz and Tenay talked constantanly for the entire show!!! - Should he main event Bound For Glory? IDK maybe not...but Bobby Roode is a very good wrestler and had he a very good match with Kaz - Can't tell if Sting is imitating Heath Ledger as the Joker or Jim Carrey as the Riddler...either way it's creepy...in both a good way and a bad way - No Mexican America or Jeff Jarret or Abyss = :D:D:D:D - Ok so it's probably about four years late, but Matt Morgan vs Samoa Joe could be a great feud if done properly...that being said TNA will F**** it up somehow - Ric Flair + still wrestling = Really, just let it go before you have a heart attack in that ring Of course, that's just my opinion...I could be wrong
  12. Phillipines...1944...the feul tank (for his flamethrower) my grandfather had on his back was nipped by a stray sniper bullet, it burst before he could completley remove it... Maybe Soulja Boy could go to Syria and release a video...oh wait, they'd gun him down in the middle of the street in less than 30 seconds... Think that's what bothers me the most...In parts of the world people are killed for standing up to oppresive regimes...In America this guy will make a million for yelling **** all the troops Ok...I'm done...enough ranting...I'ma go play some TEW now
  13. I find this post to be degrading....to SHAG CARPETING!!!!!!!! I agree 1000% ...pretty sure when my grandfather recieved a Purple Heart in WW2 (or three of my uncles were serving in Vietnam) they weren't fighting for this crap... Makes me more sad than angry to be honest...sad that he's not the only person out there that feels that way.
  14. I noticed since they "rebranded" or whatever as "Impact Wrestling" whoever does their sound is horrible. Sounds as if they cut the crowd noise when a worker is on the mic, then boost the volume inbetween the workers speaking. Creates the effect of "piped" background noises. As an amatuer musician/producer/engineer I have to say it makes them appear "bush league"...then again so does their storylines...and The Hardy Boyz circa 2011 but still...
  15. So I rarely, due to my schedule, watch WW_ television, but I caught the main event of Smackdown and a few things came to mind whilst I watched: 1 - Good main event, good way to end a feud (I presume that was the end of the feud anyway) ...though, if I got Christian v Orton and Cena v Punk on free TV, I'd be a little p***** off if I had spent money on the recent PPV's 2 - Orton is quite over with the live crowds, but I still think Orton is much better as a sadistic heel than a fan favorite 3 - I see it's time for Mark Henry's annual MEGA-PUSH...hope it's as exciting as the last few were 4 - It's amazing to me that the WW_ can't do a better job at the announce table...As a wrestler I love Booker T...as an announcer? not so much... ..Micheal Cole, as a heel character uhm, ok...if he has a JR or King to bounce off of? sure why not...as the lead announcer? Vintage suckage right there...and Josh Matthews? IDK his voice just SCREAMS Velocity or Jakked when I hear it That's all...just wanted to chime in
  16. Pretty much...in sports...and life for that matter...every one faces a time of adversity and challenge...what one does with that is up to the them, it can be a learning experience (Big Ben) or a major setback (Kordell)
  17. @ the Playoff debate...depends on the situation really... Kordell Stewart had a record setting pro bowl season in 1997-98...in the AFC Championship he fumbled once and threw 3 ints in a 24-21 loss to the Broncos...A year or so later he was done, benched, crying on the sidelines...In alot of ways he (mentally) never recovered from that loss and his career was over... Ben Rothlisberger, on the other hand, was terrible his first trip to the playoffs...very shakey in a win over the Jets and awful in the AFC Championship game vs the Patriots...is he Peyton Manning? No...but he's won two Superbowls since then Point being, well no point really....just wanted to talk about the Steelers
  18. I wouldn't pay money to watch them wrestle...much less fight for real
  19. yes...a non-title match on RAW, I do remember that didn't Shemus win clean to take the belt (in a tables match?)
  20. I agree, but TNA (as usual) blew that angle...however, I feel AJ is a natural "underdog babyface"...I'da paired up Flair with Matt Morgan personally...let them dominate for a few months, maybe let a couple of lower card guys act as flunkies to suck up popularity from running with Flair/Morgan...then set up feuds with underdog babyfaces like Styles, Angle or Beer Money
  21. While I agree with your point I would say this...the heel is suppose to lose...can the face make him look good in the process? Yes. Should the face make him look good? Oh H*** Yes...but ultimately it's on THE HEEL to get himself over...let's not forget, at one point Cena was the loud mouth punk heel nobody really knew, then he feuded with, and lost to, guys like Angle and Lesnar...and he got over! (I personally don't see why, but yes...alot of people love John Cena) Maybe Cena isn't as talented as say Kurt Angle or doesn't have the psychology and popularity of Hogan back in the day, but if Miz comes out of his feud "weakened", it's Miz's fault...remember, CM Punk was just a coupla years ago getting "Buried" by JBL...and Orton...and Undertaker...and Jeff Hardy...but he's main eventing now...it's because he can get himself over with the fans. Chris Jericho has been beaten, embarrassed, humiliated and "buried" by everyone from HBK to Dean Malenko...yet if his music hit the PA to start next Monday night's Raw the place would explode!!!! Carlito ,for example, got a solid push, turned heel, lost to main event babyfaces and...uhm...right...he's gone...because he didn't get HIMSELF over with the fans Another example, The Rock supposedly "buried" Rikishi in their mini-feud way back when...everyone said he ruined Rikishi's career because he cut a promo on him then gave him the Rock Bottom...but he really didn't do anything he didn't do to, say, Triple H or Booker T...was it really the Rock that "didn't make him look better"? or was it Rikishi? Just saying...not that I'm defending or hatin' on Cena...his job is to sell tickets, t-shirts and orange armbands just like Hogan, Stone Cold, Sting etc...it's on the heel to make the fans "love to hate them"... Roddy Piper could do it, The Great Khali...not so much 'Course that's just my opinion...I could be wrong
  22. Personally I'd keep Flair as a heel manager...then rotate maybe Sting & Angle as 'part-time special attractions' (like Undertaker of recent years)...Sting because he's still a fairly big draw for them and Angle because he can still put on a good match
  23. It's nice, after 18 years to have a contending team here...got to be realistic as they are a young team, probably a couple years from peaking so anything this year is "Bonus" but the Central is weak so they got a chance...they got St Louis, Atlanta then Philly for their next three series so we should know in about ten days if they got a shot
