  1. <p>I also feel like the data is organized in a very jumbled, unnecessarily compressed manner, like having to click arrows on a worker's profile to flip between 'Skills' and 'Attributes' or 'Popularity' and 'Contract Details'. Space is not used smartly, it seems like the intent was to cram as much on each screen however possible to reduce clicking. I'm in the camp that would much rather have had to make one more click somewhere to get a nice flat readout of the guy than a bunch of clicks on the same page to try and decipher a worker's stats.</p><p> </p><p> That being said, I really don't mean to come off as dogpiling if I do. I'm super excited about all the new features, just not hot on the presentation of them.</p>
  2. Holy crap does this help. If the font could be increased by 1 we may have an -acceptable- solution on our hands.
  3. So, I'm going to buy this, partially out of loyalty to the franchise and love for professional wrestling. The feature updates really age 2016, I hope to sink a ton of hours in to this and produce a fun diary or two along the way. However, the UI is making my eyes bleed and absolutely has to be fixed. I don't know how Adam came to the conclusion this was acceptable or how the QA testers didn't throw up a bunch of red flags, but this just looks crude compared to the last three or four entries in the series. I'm definitely in the camp that says to increase the font size by 1 for a start, and then go from there.
  4. I agree and I personally am not a fan of the change; I think there should be greater consequence to one's roster getting bloated beyond reason.
  5. Right, so just like in TEW guys could sit at home and pick up X dollars no matter what. That's simulated by simply having a 'Written' contract.
  6. Isn't the nature of a Written contract a guaranteed deal unto itself? I consider it to be the equivalent of what became a thing in the late '90's.
  7. Great thread! I'm the... author? Conceiver? of the 'Hollywait' diary. It creates a major divergence in CornellVerse lore simply by delaying JK Stallings Jr.'s opening of HGC until he turns 18; right off the bat, this brings a very different January of 1997 to the universe, one with all eyes on the East Coast Wars for a challenger to rise against the SWF's dominance. I also fully intend to bookend the diary by releasing the database at periodic/pivotal moments.
  8. Derek, I will of course provide full credit to you as the architect of the CVerse '97 mod that my 'Hollywait' is based off of. Looking it over, with the information I currently have available, I suspect it will convert nicely. I plan on using it to spinoff my own alternate-CornellVerse by converting saves into databases, do you have a problem if I title my alt-verse "CVerse97 - The Hollywait Divergence"?
  9. A few thoughts: The SWF is either toast or in collapse. Three or four top guys - DeBones, Bruce, and Morrisette - will either be retired or only making sporadic appearances. Eric Eisen will have caused more problems backstage to compel others who could have carried the company to leave. Lullaby will have occurred at some level meaning Rich Eisen will be leaving (potentially in handcuffs), leaving a steaming duke on his desk for Jerry to clean up. USPW will still be on top and doing pretty well. Even with the generational torch-passing going on, they have great potential and opportunities to churn out new stars to replace the old ones (such as The Cold Warriors tag team/mentorship between Karloff and Novak). They'll be bolstered by charismatic new talent (some seeking refuge from the SWF) to fill in gaps on the roster and Allen Packer's incredible financial muscle. TCW is the great mystery to me. If they stay on Tuesdays, they're going to get beaten into the floor. If they retreat to Saturdays, they stand a much better chance at thriving.
  10. It was different; some things it did better than EWR 3.0 but by the time Adam pushed 4.2, it had fallen behind pretty considerably.
  11. Promotion Wars was turfed because "the other Adam" couldn't handle criticism and comparison to Adam Ryland. He threw in the towel rather than continue our own little wrestling video game war.
  12. The CVerse did a terrific job foreshadowing the state of American pro wrestling in 2019 by its own state in 1996.

It's something I attempted years ago with TEW 2016 I believe; now, with the ability to convert saves into databases, it'll be easier than ever to weave my alternate history of the CornellVerse across as many games as necessary.</p>
  18. May as well get a head-start on this! If a moderator could move this to the appropriate board when it's created it would be greatly appreciated.
  19. If rumors are to be believed, fans of the Supreme Wrestling Federation may be in for a second wave of Sammania. Following the completion of his tour with Japan's leading fed Burning Hammer Of The Wrestling Gods over a year ago, Sam Strong is said to be showing little interest in another Japanese run. Word in Vermont is that preliminary discussions have begun to bring the former four-time World champion back to cap off his illustrious career. Sam Strong was last seen in an SWF ring in 1994 when he failed to dethrone then-reigning champion Bruce The Giant at that year's Welcome To The Jungle pay-per-view. There is said to be no thaw in the relationship between SWF owner Richard Eisen and current North American champion Nemesis which has turned icy in recent months. Neither man is said to be pulling punches in their remarks about one another and other talent are supposedly avoiding being in the same room as them if at all possible. The North American title is said to be the only thing preventing Richard Eisen from firing him immediately, though Nemesis' contract is believed to be expiring soon. The superstar has been overheard remarking that he'd rather take a job with AAA than remain in the SWF. Phil Vibert is reportedly picking out a pen to sign the contract and complete his purchase of east coast hardcore fed Danger And Violence Extreme where he manages JD Morgan. Current owner Buddy Gaines is said to want a smaller role in the operation of the company and approves of Vibert's vision going forward. DAVE (out of New York City) is one of the warring federations part of what's being called the 'East Coast Wars', a rivalry between them and PPPW in Philadelphia, RPW in Baltimore, and the XFW also in New York City. Dusty Streets is healthy and ready to make his own return to the Supreme Wrestling Federation from Burning Hammer Of The Wrestling Gods if reports are true. Eldest son of the legendary Rocky Streets and older brother of Sid "The Kid", Dusty Streets has captured the SWF Tag Team titles twice with each of them. Rumors swirl in every direction concerning what role he will play in storylines, to either support or oppose his brother who currently feuds with SWF champ Sam Keith and his mercenary Black Hat Bailey or to sidestep that storyline altogether. J.K. Stallings Jr., the wiz-kid behind MissyaMail, has gotten no shortage of media attention as of late and a particular comment has caught our attention at WWD. Speaking to CANN recently, the 16-year-old overnight-billionaire professed himself to be a passionate fan of professional wrestling and while ultimately deciding against attempting it now, he has sworn to start his own fed when he turns 18 in 1998. While one may wonder how a teenaged computer programmer could ever successfully run a wrestling federation, readers should keep in mind that Richard Eisen launched the SWF at age 17 and Stallings would have incredible wealth to put behind his organization from the start. Only time will tell if he keeps good on his word.
  20. At least the demo is one full month of gameplay that can be patched into the full game.
  21. The return of Hulkamania on Nitro in the summer of 1999. It was the last great thing WCW ever did and that six-man-tag between Nash/Sid/Rick Steiner and Hogan/Sting/Goldberg was absolutely electric.
  22. Please put FOW back in. It adds so much immersion and simulates real-life guesstimation, much more important than the luxury of side-by-side comparisons.
