  1. This is the best upgrade by far, so that there finally is some challenge in the game instead of easy mode.

Now i hope for a major AI booking overhaul so that the AI for major promotions delivers top rated angles on every show and stop pushing mediocre workers or has-beens deep in time decline as top main eventers. That would make the game less "easy mode" and even more competitive.

I really wish this game had a difficulty mode that gave the AI a big bonus on higher difficulties.

  2. Sorry, let me just check I'm getting this right - you're saying if I gave him 10 bonuses of $1,000, that would only be as good as one bonus of $1,000, because they don't stack?

What are some better ways to improve morale, then, if the negative morale is going to outlast the bonus morale boost?

I don't think he is saying that no. He's saying that 1 bonus of 10k is better than 10 1k bonuses.

Take a look at DevilofNG's screenshot to see how this works. I have no idea if minor bonuses stack at all, but if they do it's in a very minor way.

    Some ways to boost morale:

    • Successful turns or gimmick changes (debuting with a new gimmick counts as well)
    • Being booked to win over opponents of similar push/popularity (not sure whether winning clean is important here)
    • Good booking - not sure what this means exactly, but I suppose it's connected to having good positive momentum? (very negative momentum makes workers annoyed)
    • Signing workers with a positive relationship (nepotism really pays off in this game!)

  3. Out of curiosity, why do you want to use so many road agent notes? I can't think of any reason why you would need any unless you are literally trying to have 30+ interference notes, are doing something that could be accomplished far more easily with fewer notes OR are perhaps misunderstanding something else. If that's the case, there may be some help we can collectively give right now. :)

Some matches, specifically battle royals, really eat up RA notes if you want to not only have a say in who gets to be a finalist, iron man etc. but also want to specify who gets to look strong, who has limited involvement/protection etc.

I've had plenty of battle royals where I literally ran out of RA note slots halfway through my plans.

  4. Great news about the Scouting mechanic, that pretty much alleviates every misgivings I had about ditching the FOW.

I wonder if worker promises will be based on a worker's personality. For example, if a wrestler is a complete egomaniac, then he will never promise to push someone, but if a worker is a nice guy or has an old school mentality, he'll put others over.

Maybe it could also depend on how old a worker is. A veteran with a good career might be willing to put a young prospect over, more than they would be willing to put over another veteran.

Relationships would also probably tie into it. Friends will always want to put each other over, but complete enemies won't.

Also, what if we could promise a worker that he could beat someone else if he lost to a person. Like promising Cena a win over HHH at the Greatest Royal Rumble if he loses to Taker at Mania.

We already know that worker personalities will be primarily traits based so I really hope we get to see traits that make it more or less likely for a worker to put other people over.

  5. What I mean is, if I give him $10,000, would that have the same effect as 10 bonuses of $1,000? Or is it based on number of bonuses given, rather than total amount given? Any advice on how the system works would be greatly appreciated. :)

Based on my experience and tests, a small amount will generally only give a small boost in happiness, a larger amount will give a larger boost in happiness.

These boosts do not stack together, but are calculated independently of one another.

So if you want to spent 10,000 to keep him happy, spend it all at once instead of splitting up the amount.

However, the happiness bonus is only temporary, and it generally lasts not as long as unhappiness, so you may have to continue feeding him money once the first bonus wears off.

  6. See the way the game generates overness caps is by looking at the characters starting overness and then going up. This causes a comical bias in overness caps for already existing main eventers, but because almost all new gens start at zero, their range is so much higher and more susceptible to lowrolling. Actually had a recent game of the best new gen I ever saw, he had 99 SQ after getting ripped but only B+ overness cap.

This always struck me as a rather bizarre design decision.

2016 is literally a math game not a booking simulator, but overwhelming prominence of mod play obscures this.

All simulators are ultimately math exercises, that's the entire point of computer simulation.

You've managed to convince me about National Battles, though.

Fortunately, 2020 apparently will be calculating NB scores as a combination of show grades and the old system, which strikes me as a useful compromise. A 100-capped low-SQ worker will be useful in generating good show grades while still leaving the strategy open of just buying up the highest SQ guys and pushing them to the main event.

  7. Wow, that promise system looks like a great addition that feels very realistic. I like the idea that workers will put over specific workers. I really hope that they won't decide at random and that these promises will be weighted towards people the worker has positive relations with (so that e.g. a veteran will promise to put over their protegé, or a main eventer will want to put over their best friend who is stuck in the lower card). It would also be great if this was further integrated with the personality system, where some people are simply more likely to put over people they like than others (to distinguish e.g. between a Flair and a Hogan type of personality).
  8. I think based on the response that alot of people have voiced today that it might've been wrong to assume that. You could just limit those search mechanics to the grades that is discovered. You could also add the vauge terms such as Excellent, Very Good ect. to include the ones you haven't.

Does this also mean that letter grades are removed as well?

Wasn't that how Search was working in TEW2016? But yea, I agree overall.

I really wish the feature list wasn't so transparently dominated by the opinions of like 4-5 oldtimers being in Adam's ear all the time.

The whole point of FOW was that you wouldn't sign the highest rated worker and just push them to the moon because you already knew how good they were, you had to feel out their strength and weaknesses over time and/or have them spend a few years on the indie circuit to find out if they were a breakout star or a dud. If you remove that, you're back to people signing the same 2-3 workers because we already know how good they are.

  9. Then Charisma, Sex Appeal, Menace, ect. Should be how they are most able to get over. You could be amazing in this skill and be your primary attribute, but you may just end up capped by that intangible aspect or IT value which is Star Quality. Those values don't necessarily need to be rolled into one.

Honestly you could probably merge Charisma, Mic and Acting skills into a single Entertainment stat in the same way Adam has merged the Submission, Chain and Mat Wrestling skills into a single Technical Wrestling stat, it's not like a highly charismatic worker would be bad at promos in the first place.

The Match Style setting has been removed from matches; the effect this piece of data used to have is instead controlled by the 'match aim' related road agent notes. For example' date=' instead of needing a specific 1 vs 1 match with the style 'Comedy Based', you can just use the regular 1 vs 1 match and would use the 'Match Aim: Comedy' note. This saves database makers a lot of time, as they don't need to create multiple versions of the same match just to have different style settings, without adding to the player's workload as they would be using the match aim notes anyway.[/quote']

Does that mean that there will be new match aims such as Comedy or Eye Candy to replace these special match styles?

  10. I just hope Adam don't lose his creative juices from all these snide remarks and negativity. Seems pretty simple, if you don't like the game, don't buy it. 99% of us love what we're reading so far.

Yea, I don't really get why people would want to voice their opinion on a computer game on an internet forum specifically dedicated to sharing your opinion about that game.

    Makes no sense, really.

The fact that giving a worker 20 matches in one show was the optimal way for them to gain stats wasn’t a reflection of how the wrestling world actually works, and as such it was fixed to a system that more closely resembles real life. It’s not too different from a dozen other features already announced.

There being no real downside to making workers do dozens of matches in a row on the same night would have been a much bigger issue, do we know if that is getting fixed as well?

  15. how does one get generated workers to use free pictures? I feel like even though i have quite a few in my image folder they never get used. Also does anyone have a link to a db of free pictures? Style does not matter.

You have to use the editor outside of the running game to import them in the database, although this won't work for save games that are already running.

  17. I've just put on a match in a RW mod between AJ Styles and John Cena.

Cena is 75 psychology. AJ is 84. I got this road agent note. How high does the workers psych stat have to be for this to not appear?

It depends on the "raw" match rating (as displayed in the dirt sheet). If it exceeds their psych stat then the match rating receives a penalty. Same thing with Selling. However this is also influenced by the match goal, e.g. Storytelling/Epic matches require a lot higher psych, and if you have the Slow Build or Call In Ring notes that again requires higher psychology compared to e.g. the Script note.

Also, if I put the agent note "script" in this match between the two wrestlers in question, would that effect the proper flow of the match? Either negatively, or positively?

It would mean that you would get dinged less for lacking Psychology, though there are probably other downsides that I can't remember off the top of my head.
