  1. My 1920 game just got super interesting. Jirving Billington has been the owner of Chicago Championship Wrestling/Great Lakes Championship Wrestling since 1920. He finally hung up his boots in 1966. I was originally playing as him but when I made the save into a database to speed things up, I made his son (Joseph Billington) the booker and set him up (or Joseph's son Maxwell) as the future owners of GLCW but I forgot all about their age when I did it. Welp, that didn't happen (probably because the age thing). Jirving retired, the board of directions didn't want Joseph as owner and hired Mike Lebell. The company is tanking. We went from spending millions under Jirving's SPEND SPEND SPEND reputation to Lebell's save money at every corner reputation. My plan is to tank GLCW over the next four years to see how the world goes.

  7. Thank! I'm terrible at coming up with names but I've had that one on the back burner. They are a fantastic team and this is their last run. They had a strong run in 2009-2011, which really got Pentagon over (to the point he won the WCW World Heavyweight Title). Sting is enjoying his last ride. As for the Haas Brothers, they are. Originally, Charlie Haas was facing off against whoever was champion but the champion went down with an injury so Charlie won. Charlie went down with an injury so I put it on Russ. I just keep trading it back and forth between them to defend until I figure out what to do.

  9. Oh my god, yes! I turned this to the maximum in my 1920-present day game, and it is a game changer. At one point, I had to use the actual "scroll" on the injury list.
  10. It should. But Great Lakes came first and their egotistical owner Jirving Kowalchyzk, would tell you that nobody tells GLCW what to. Hopefully when his stubborn 77 year old body finally gives out, his son Joseph (50), or grandsons Charles (20) and Tucker (17) can make updates.
  11. They have their own championship, but it’s tier 2 compared to the NWA World Title.

  14. Write down three main event talents you cannot lose. Write down three mid-upper card talents you cannot lose. Put all the names in a hat. Draw 2. Release/fire those two. Additionally, I like to create rivalries. I ask myself how can I create a legendary feud? So I will book super long term. Plus I love stables. But anytime I start losing interest in a game, I will release a mega talent. For example, in my 85-2014 game, I was getting bored. In the span of one year I did the following: Released: Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles, The PowerHouse Free Birds, Fergal Devitt, and Lord Tensai and had them all sign with All Japan to form THE CLUB Additionally, I'm preparing to release Bryan Danielson, Claudio C, and force them to sign with NJPW. Make the game interesting.
  15. I love this idea. A save where you work for a different promotion each year. Following their styles, etc.
  16. Some others I thought of: 1) When it comes to finances, every year or so cut the finances down. Makes it realistic. Or, give a ton away. For example, if there are promotions in the red, I will give them a couple million. 2) If you lose your television deal (this happens to me because I need to always have 89 shows to remain in primetime), do not make a broadcaster. Instead, let your promotion flounder for a year (or several). Cut your top players, let deals run out, etc. 3) Lose bidding wars on purpose.
  17. Love this topic. While I have never played in the original database thoroughly, here are my tips if you are playing as a major player 1) Do not sign everyone. Have a limit on your roster. 2) If you are not using someone in a program, release them. 3) Do not sign everyone to a written deal. Let talent develop elsewhere. 4) Release your big fish. I typically will let my top talent walk after five years (or earlier depending on the situation. I sign everyone to two-three year deals (or less, unless I'm in a bidding war, then I will go back and edit their contract to minimum time) 5) I usually pick one random talent and develop. Someone totally random will be my pet project.
  18. Save: 1920-1963 (September) *For the record, I use the automatic booker for every show but will do the following: - Edit the matches for winners (depending on who I am pushing) - Insert a Commenwealth championship match - I do not do this with events (there are four) -I also hold two large tournaments (Grand Prix and Tag Classic) where two matches take place on every show. The Game Word: The NWA is alive and kicking led by Vince McMahon’s WWWF, Jim Crockett’s Mid-Atlantic, and Jirving Smith’s (user character) Great Lakes Championship Wrestling. Fritz Von Erich and Angelo Poffo are feuding over the NWA World Heavyweight Title in a blood feud. The two have traded the belt back and forth (but holding for over a year each time). They are preparing for Bruno Sammartino and Bobo Brazil to start feuding for the belt. The GLCW World Heavyweight Title has been Bobo Brazil’s baby for four straight years but finally lost the belt to Dick Hutton at the GLCW Legacy 45 event with former 2x NWA World Champion Isiah Watson (user character) from the 1920s as the special guest enforcer. Otherwise, Giant Baba and Antonio Inoki are dominating the tag team division. Competing against Bruno Sammartino and Dominic Denucci, Mad Dog and Butcher Vachon and a plethora of other wrestlers. Older talent like Lou Thesz, Paul Boesch, Ernest Baldwin, and many others are on the decline and have been released or I’m using them to build the next generation of talent.
