  1. A good, simple update today. As much I like the editor (and will no doubt spend a lot of time in there) I'm looking forward to more on the game proper next time.
  2. A very exciting entry, as Mattyc said above me this opens up databases to be crazy detailed if the creator wishes (or has the time!)
  3. LOVE today's entry. The addition of Sites in particular because I always wanted to go into a bit more detail with locations but didn't see the point in creating somewhere where only two people were located, so this solves that issue nicely. I like the environment effecting dice rolls as well. Plus the addition of pictures for each location is something I assumed would be added (especially after pictures for items) but still really happy to see confirmed.
  4. Artefacts sound great, once again it should add some nice variety to the combat and schemes and keep things fresh.
  5. Today's entry certainly sounds complex, though I'm sure you'll get used to it after a few goes. Sounds extremely deep as well, and really customisable so I'm really looking forward to diving into the editor! I'm also looking forward to seeing how combat works.
  6. Sounds like transferring characters will be pretty straight forward, beyond the Rating and power questions LostInWeb has just asked about above me. That's a relief at least! I was interested in how locations would work now you're not a single person choosing to travel to one place or another, sounds like it will just impact who can team up with who and where certain things can take place? I know in CBH I wanted to add a lot more locations but found having loads of places with only a couple of people limited the game world too much as it would've meant characters just sitting by themselves until they happened to wander away. Sounds like at least with all the teaming up there would be a greater chance of some of the characters just sitting about in a low priority area might be more likely to join in on the action, especially if you pick them in your team. Also I'm happy to hear the dialogue stuff is back, I forgot about that side of CBH. That was always fun!
  7. I've been having a lot of fun looking at my old CBH database, though even without the added bits from CBU it needs a lot of updating... Before I commit to anything too much, can I ask if the bio section will be increased to at least the size of TEW? I forgot how little room there was to write things in CBH! That way I know I can use the bios I wrote for the TEW version of my database and save me a lot of time in making the eventual CBU version. I mean I assume given the larger aspect ratio there probably will be, but just want to check. I mean, I have other questions but they're the sort of things that are clearly going to be addressed in the journal and aren't a big deal, so I may as well wait for the entries. That's always a big part of the fun during the build up!
  8. A CBH to CBU database transfer you say? May have to crack out CBH and see what my old database is up to! Really liking the sound of this so far, having a pick of the good guys changes things up plus random events and big potential game-ending scenarios all sound very exciting, and should add plenty of replay value if your database is weird and varied enough, like mine was/is. Though I assume it will take some tweaking before it works with the new game, but at least I won't have to spend ages picking powers again anyway, though I assume they'll be some new ones!
  9. I loved my time with CBH, though I'll admit the actual gameplay loop got repetitive eventually so I more really enjoyed taking comic, game, anime and other franchises and putting them in one massive universe and watching everything crossover. Still I always said it was a strong base and much like the TEW series could really be something special with a sequel or two, so I'm glad we're sort of getting that here. I will be watching with great interest!
  10. Thanks. I thought it was something like that, yeah. I'll have to do some Attribute experimenting, as I don't want all those indy companies also having scumbag owners, so hopefully there's a balance.
  11. Does anyone know the "trick" to getting owners to be their own head bookers? I remember there being some way of setting it so they think its okay, but I fired up my mod for the first time and day 1 was full of "promotion booker search" from all the small companies that aren't big enough for a chain of command beyond "owner books his shows". Thanks.
  12. Another TEW game gladly purchased. Now if I could just finish updating my database I can actually crack on and dive deep into playing it! Love the new UI, by the way. The only two complaints I had were the bright white grid lines and big square of buttons on the office screen, both of which have been fixed. Very pleasing to the eye.
  13. THAT is a good example of why Adam Ryland said that one of the only things mod makers will have to do to get a 2016 database working correctly is change the Broadcasters, mostly from scratch. It was the only part of Mods he specifically said would have to be changed to get one working properly. You'll have to put up with it until the mod maker does a full overhaul of the Broadcasters and do an official release.
  14. Hi Adam, Just a quick thing, as I have enabled the "old style" scrolling I can't mass delete things in the editor. Now, fair enough, but could you maybe put a way to turn on the new style scrolling outside of an active game, presuming that the ability to mass delete with the old scrolling is now not possible? Because unless I'm missing something, I can't mass delete anything right now unless I switch databases (as my one starts in May 2020), open a test game, go to options, tick the new scrolling, head out, and switch the databases back, then presumably do it all again if I want to go back to scrolling lists with my mouse wheel. Not game breaking by any means, just a little thing while I think about it.
  15. Ah ha, that's miles better. Just get rid of the bright white lines everywhere and suddenly you can actually focus on the text. This would be a MAJOR pro on a hell of a lot of the screens in the game. Apart from that (and the general lack of colour on a lot of screen as well) I've enjoyed my first look through. Of specific note is previously having to go through three screens of multiple sliders being condensed into one easily clickable attribute screen. That's going to make worker creating / editing a comparative breeze, especially the whole "if they not set as terrible or great as a gimmick type, the AI still treats them as able to do them" thing. Such a weight off of my editor-obsessed mind.
  16. Very fun and interesting so far (and I mean a very quick flick through the game menus and the editor) The only thing that stuck out to me is not being able to set popularity for a whole region with a slide bar, now you have to type each region one at a time. Now with tab it doesn't take very long, but if I'm updating someone who has national popularity in the US it was previously far easier to just pull the slider along to set all regions. Again, very early days and very minor. Going to take a deeper look now.
  17. I've been playing since 2001 (early EWR), when I was fresh out of school, and still going strong nearly two decades later! Really looking forward to TEW20 in two days time, even if I'm one of the few (seemingly...) that still has to work Mon-Fri, 9-5... At least it should be out and ready to DL when I get back, otherwise I'd just be hanging at my PC, resisting the urge to hit refresh every five seconds.
  18. Happy to hear April is still looking good. I've starved myself of TEW in the last year, beyond updating some mods of my own/friends in preparation, so I'm really looking forward to finally starting a new game.
  19. I was thinking NXT as a brand and then an "NXT Live!" developmental company to simulate all the Florida house shows they have with talent not yet on TV. This way you still have national TV brand NXT, and still have a developmental promotion you can send people / trainees to. It's NXT UK I'm always unsure of what to do... second developmental promotion, or just a company with people under exclusive deals that's partnered with WWE? WWE haven't half made this complicated! At least it sounds like TEW20 will have a more flexible contract system to simulate all these companies like MLW, Evolve, Impact, AEW and NXT UK, where people are under exclusive deals but still wrestle certain promotions that don't have TV deals of their own.
  20. <p>Before I start the early stages of updating my database ready for the further updating needed when TEW20 releases, has there been confirmation of stables and tag team names?</p><p> </p><p> As in, if DX were a stable in a 97 mod, would I still have to put HHH and HBK in as a team called Degeneration-X, or would they be called "Degeneration X (HHH & Shawn Michaels)" like the presentation will apparently be for six man tags as shown in the journal? </p><p> </p><p> I mean, that's a bad example thinking about it as you'd probably want HHH/Michaels as a team anyway, but if I update a promotion that has a few five or six people-sized stables, will I have to create teams with "Stable Name I, Stable Name II, Stable Name III" or can I skip it as the AI will books stables in tag matches and the name will appear naturally?</p><p> </p><p> I know this isn't a Q and A thread but I remember people talking about this in this here before but I can't seem to find it via the thread search.</p>
  21. Really like the new gimmick proposal, put me down on the list of people who just had a handful of basic gimmicks that he gave people and imagined the rest, so this would save a lot of time... Plus, if the attributes did end up not only taking away the personality sliders but knocking most of the performance sliders out as well then putting a new worker in a database would be even more quicker, especially if there does end up being a pre-determined list of gimmicks and a "do it for me" button for those lower down guys you don't have much info on, gimmick-wise.
  22. <p>One of the main things I always said I disliked about TEW compared to EWR was how stale the world soon became, companies would rarely hire or fire anyone after a certain time, so I'm happy with the more aggressive AI and now a change to the code in if/when they fire people. </p><p> </p><p> Plus ... everything else that's been announced, obviously! Nothing I've shaken my head over, anyway.</p>
  23. Really? I was always under the impression that Flashiness was connected to Ariel, and Ariel alone. Like the difference between a plain cruiserweight like, say, Billy Kidman back in the day having just some Ariel, and a Ricochet now having lots of Flashiness to go along with it, with having lots more Flashiness than Ariel being a good indicator that a person is all flips and no real ability to put on a good cruiserweight/lucha match.
  24. It's true, really. The EWR "Brawl, Technical, Speed" worked just as well when you get down to it. After Strong Style got renamed "Impactful" in the styles, I wouldn't be surprised to see it combined with brawl either. I'd probably keep Hardcore separate for death matchers who otherwise can't put on a good brawling match. Ariel and Flashiness was always a good way to signify a spot monkey, but given that style is also gone, would be surprised to see those two combined into a generic "High Flying" either. If it is just combining the technical skills though, it's still a nice change, as have all the updates been since I last posted, for the record!
