  2. FORMER TWO-TIMES UFC FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPION MAX HOLLAWAY SIGNS WITH PFL PFL has bolstered your featherweight roster by signing former two-times UFC Featherweight champion Max Hollaway to an exclusive, multi-fight deal. Blurcat.com confirmed the signing with a promotion official following an initial report from PFL. A date for Hollaway’s debut is currently unknown. “Signing with PFL was really a great feeling and it’s a step up to the Million,” Hollaway told. A 27-year-old native of Hawaii, Hollaway claimed the featherweight crown for a first time, with a TKO win over legend Jose Aldo in Brazil at UFC 212. After loss the belt to Alexander Volkanovski, he captured the featherweight crown again with a unanimous decision triumph against Zabit Magomedsharipov at UFC on ESPN on June. “Blessed” has been victorious in 23 of his 29 professional fights overall. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PFL LIGHTWEIGHT ABEL TRUJILLO FAILS DRUG TEST Abel Trujillo will be forced to sit out for one year following her suspension for a TRT drugs. Illinois Athletic Commission, which regulated the PFL event, Trujillo has been suspended for one year after failed drug tests and win against Shinya Aoki overtuned and made a No-Contest following PFL Fight Night 6. Abel Trujillo has denied any wrong-doing prior to his bout with Shinya Aoki, writes Chris Jones. He claims that his drug test failure (for TRT) was the result of a lab mix-up, and that his suspension is unwarrented as he was not using any illegal substances at all.
  3. <img src=https://i.imgur.com/gWXe3fj.jpg> PFL Fight Night: Benavidez vs. Doskalchuk - PLAY BY PLAY RESUME & RESULTS PLAY BY PLAY https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vTdoKa9tg7QfnWLC5hz0bamyDYtF3U5poI8Xlx3kvTG-c2MlPHiqWRaqfM-TTbsC79fLHfr_jdzeOd9/pub JOSEPH BENAVIDEZ EDGES ALEKSANDER DOLKASCHUK IN PFL FIGHT NIGHT 6 MAIN EVENT; TRUJILLO UPSET AOKI Tonight's PFL Fight Night brought 16 fights on his card, with fights that were confirmed as possible reserves in the playoffs that start next month. In the main event, former UFC Flyweight champion Joseph Benavidez debuted with a submission in the second round against former M-1 Global Flyweight champion. Benavidez was better throughout the match and in the second round Benavidez found the right moment and fitted the blow, leaving no other alternative to the Russian if not to tap. In the co-main event Derrick Lewis was named as a favorite, but Karol Bedorf surprised fans in the arena. In a first round of Lewis dominance, Bedorf started to improve in the second round taking Lewis to the ground and getting tired of "black beast". And already in the third round after an exchange of punches, Bedorf stunned Lewis with a beautiful right cross, showing that he was bad, Bedorf advanced and knocked Lewis with big right hook, and with a few more strikes on the ground the referee stopped the fight. And this was not the biggest underdog at night. Considered a favorite of the former three times ONE Championship Lightweight champ, Shinya Aoki faced savage Abel Trujillo. With an aggressive game and showing a form much larger than that of his opponent Trujillo defended well in the first round the submissions that the Japanese tried. But in the second round, Trujillo shook Aoki at the beginning of the round, showing that he was feeling the powerful blows of Trujillo, Aoki tried to hold on, another hard blow knocked him down and Trujillo advanced and with more blows ended the fight. A performance that was certainly the biggest victory of Trujillo's career. In other actions on the main card, former Bellator MMA middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho, who with a well-aimed kick to the head, led Clifford Starks to knockout him in the second round; Japanese Michihiro Omigawa and Reina Miura won by submission in the first round, Humberto Bandenay and Tamikka Brents; Sergio Moraes dominated Matt Brown for three rounds winning by unanimous decision and Karlos Vemola and Volkan Ozdemir reached the end of the 15 minutes and a split decision in favor of Vemola was the final verdict. In the preliminaries, Ray Borg overcame Jussier Formiga by unanimous decision; Roger Gracie submitts Nikita Krylov in the second round; Dong Hyun Kim had a dominant performance over Warlley Alves; Ben Rothwell won PFL veteran Kelvin Tiller by TKO in the first round; Pavel Vitruk surprised Arnold Allen with a TKO victory in the opening round; Mansour Barnaoui overcame Ronys Torres by unanimous decision and Ediane Gomes defeated Tonya Evinger by submission in the first fight of the night. As expected, Rodriguez would have a long night against Mendes, who was the local fighter and had the support of fans at The Forum in California, and soon Mendes tried to put Rodriguez on the ground, but he did it after trying a pass guard Rodriguez reversed and managed to control the fight over the top and at the end of the round got blows that seemed to leave Mendes in trouble. In the second round Rodriguez showed a lot of quality in the fight standing, controlling much of the round with their threads and kicks in the body that wore Mendes during the round. In the last round Mendes captured his strategy on Rodriguez's legs, while the Mexican continued with his streak strokes. In the end, two judges were favorable to Rodriguez and one to Mendes, giving Rodriguez a very tight decision. With the results both fighters advanced to the playoffs. In the co-main event, Albert Tumenov kept his streak going by beating Martin Kampmann by knockout. Despite Kampmann's dominance in the first round, Tumenov came back more aggressive in the second round and landed a kick to the head that stunned and knocked Kampmann down, Tumenov hit a few more blows to the ground, but abandoned the ground position and went back to the standing fight. And when he got back on his feet, with Kampamann visibly shaken, Tumenov launched a sure uppercut that put Kampmann out. In a rematch of the most twisted fights in history, Travis Browne and Andrei Arlovski gave MMA fans another big fight tonight. But this time, Browne was the winner. In the first round, Browne got a knockdown on Arlovski, but he couldn't define the fight and Arlovski held on until the end of the round. In the second round a straight from Arlovski that ended with a kick to the head, made Browne in trouble, Arlovski tried to define the fight but Browne escaped and in the end Arlovski elbowed the clinch, which opened a cut in Browne. The third round came with a lot of expectations about who would take the fight, but it didn't last a minute after Browne landed a hard right-sided blow to Arlovski's chin and immediately knocked him out. The other two fights on the card also did not reach the points. The older brother of legend Fedor Emelianenko, Aleksander Emelianenko got his second win of the season, after knocking out former UFC heavyweight challenger Gabriel Gonzaga. With a Russian pressure early, "Napao" began to feel the hard blows and after a powerful right cross Gonzaga was knocked out in the first round. Welterweight champion of the 2019 season, Ray Cooper III, took his second victory by submitting Ryan LaFlare. With an amazing strategy, Cooper tried from the beginning to control LaFlare, which began supporting well, more could not take a long time, and eventually takendown by Cooper. LaFlare managed to defend Cooper's first attempt at Guillotina, but in the second, and with better technique and more pressure, LaFlare had no choice but to tap. The long-awaited debut of MMA superstar Conor McGregor went as planned, he beat Rashid Magomedov by TKO in the second round, in a fight that was completely dominated by the former UFC two-division champion. Right at the start of the fight with 8 seconds, McGregor hit a shot that already opened a cut in Magomedov, and throughout the round McGregor showed dominance with the best blows and even during the fight provoking Magomedov with his trash talk. And at the end of the round McGregor looked very confident while Magomedov was down in the corner. The second round started in the same way as the first, after an attempted attack by Rashid, McGregor responded with a high kick that stunned the Russian, realizing McGregor tried a flying knee more than had no effect and soon headed the fight to the center of the cage , with McGregor verbally provoking his opponent, and with hard blows suffered Magomedov seemed increasingly worn out in combat. Until in a strike against McGregor hit a massive left cross that took Magomedov to canvas. For the first time in his 30-fight career Rashid Magomedov suffered his first KO loss. In the co-main event Takanori Gomi overcame Mark Bocek, in a tough three-round battle. With better strokes and opening a cut close to Bocek's eye, Gomi looked better in the first round. With the cut causing difficulties, Bocek changes the course of the fight in the second round, taking advantage in the solo fight, however Gomi was not very controlled and always managed to get up and dominate in the standing fight leaving a very hard round to be judged. In the last round, Bocek controlled Gomi on the floor throughout the round, thus taking a tough decision for the side judges. In the end Gomi captured a split verdict against Bocek. In a 170-pound encounter, Rory MacDonald won a unanimous decision over Gleison Tibau. In a tough fight, with Tibau starting better but in the last two rounds MacDonald started to level up and in the end despite some doubts, Rory MacDonald ended up as the winner. In the rematch at heavyweight bout on the main card, Justin Willis walked through Mark Hunt as he smashed his opponent to earn a second-round TKO. Wilson Reis earned a third-round submission against Damacio Page in a 125-pound. After two rounds in which Page dominated the fight with his blows and dominating Reis in the clinch game, Wilson Reis went to the last round to try to win, and after getting a takedown and moving to the side position he applied a kimura that forced Page to give up . A middleweight pairing between Hector Lombard and Abusupyian Magomedov opened the main card. In the first round Lombard hit Magomedov hard and got a knockdown but he couldn't define the fight. In the second round, the Russian could not stand the pressure of Lombard who with a straight stunned Magomedov, and then hit another hard right cross that led Magomedov to the knockout. Earlier, the prospect Tyler Diamond submitted two times PFL season champion Lance Palmer via rear-naked choke at 2:18 of the opening stanza in a 145-pound contest. Murata captured a closely-contested unanimous decision triumph over Paige VanZant in the featured PFL Fight Night 5 main event bout at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California on Friday. In the first fight, without the title on the line, for 5 rounds, all three cageside judges submitted scorecards of 48-47 — all in favor of Murata, who is unbeaten in his last six bouts. At the beginning of the fight VanZant started out better by putting pressure and better strokes. In the middle of the round VanZant got a knockdown with a beautiful right cross that took Murata to the floor, but he was unable to define the fight. In the second round the fight started to become more balanced, with good exchanges of blows, but even more, VanZant seemed to put the best blows and managed to keep the fight in his favor. As of the third round, Murata started to dominate the fight, right at the beginning Murata tried a fall that was well defended by VanZant but Murata's clinch game was tiring the American. After a moment of fighting Herb Dean, the fight returned to the center but Murata continued to press VanZant against the cage, making her opponent more tired. In the fourth round, Murata managed the takedown for the first time in the fight, holding VanZant on the ground for a good part of the time, with little effectiveness. VanZant was able to defend himself well and in a moment he managed to turn around and get out of his uncomfortable position, however when they came back standing , Murata soon put VanZant against the cage keeping the fight in his favor this round. In the last round, VanZant was exhausted and was unable to stop Kanako, who got a takedown on top and dominated the actions on the ground with blows and transitions until the end of the fight. In the end, all the side judges gave Kanako 48-47, showing that the 5 rounds in the main event made the difference for the Japanese victory in her PFL debut. In the co-main event Arnold Allen raised his record to 18-1, by submitting former KSW champion Kleber Koike Erbst with a D'Arce Choke still in the first round in a dominant performance from the beginning to the end of the fight. With that Allen appears as a possible substitute for the playoffs in the Featherweight Division. Still on the main card, Nikita Krylov had a quick victory over Maxim Grishin by TKO in just 34 seconds. Local fighter Cynthia Cavillo beat Juliana Lima by majority decision and Ben Nguyen overcame Alptekin Ozkilic. In other actions on the preliminary card, highlight for the debut of Invicta FC bantamweight champion Kelly Faszholz, who beat Lithuanian Julija Stoliarenko by TKO.
