  2. Fog of War: On - Makes sense that a worker's skills are only partially known until they've had plenty of matches.

Show stats as grades rather than numbers: Off - Numbers are more accurate.

Owner Goals are turned on: On - I don't often play as booker but when I do, I want this turned on. Otherwise, why not just play as owner? This changes the gameplay experience.

Penalties for small rosters are turned on: Off - Pointless punishment for small companies who aren't rich. Fans don't care about this, they just want to see good shows.

Penalties for repetitive booking are turned on: On - Nobody likes seeing the same thing over and over again. Too easy to spam matches with high chemistry and cheese the game without this.

Crowd management is turned on: Off - The only company in the world that books like this is WWE. It's a company I despise, I have no desire to emulate them and in real life this rule only makes their shows worse.

Gimmick effects are turned on: On - It's annoying when a gimmick fails for no good reason when a worker exceeds the requirements but a legendary gimmick really spices things up.

Worker morale effects are turned on: On - I find the management aspect as interesting (if not moreso) than the booking of shows, as this is part of it.

Locker room morale effects are turned on: On - See above.

"Dirt Sheet" match breakdown is hidden: Off - Lol why would I hide this? Why don't I just hide my finances and roster too? Assuming I'm an owner who actually watches his own company's shows, I'd know everything in the Dirt Sheet. Oh hey, maybe that's what this option is for, owners who don't know anything about wrestling - they don't know when a match is too long, when a finish is poor, when a worker is being lazy because he has low morale. Turn this "on" for a Dixie Carter simulator.

Your PPV buy rates are e-mailed to you: Off - Whether a 0.5 or a 1.0 is good or bad depends on my company, my broadcaster, etc. There are too many variables for this to be useful. The two indicators I watch are whether my popularity increased or decreased after a show, and whether the quality of the show surpasses the broadcaster's requirements. All else is spam.

Your TV ratings are e-mailed to you: Off - See above.

Industry and economy effects are turned on: On - Some things are beyond your control. What makes you a good owner is not whether or not your crowds decline, but what you do when they decline.

Pre booking reminders are turned on: On - I never use pre booking but if I did, I probably wouldn't forget what I booked. Turn "off" for Dixie Carter simulator.

Booking times are turned on: Off - I'll voluntarily stick to my TV show's time limit for the sake of immersion, but I want my 10 hour Japanese supercard on PPV.

Match ratios are turned on: Off - Not every TV show or PPV has to follow the same format, and I don't want to adjust my product after every event to avoid penalties. My crowds will get wrestling and angles, and a reasonable mix of both for their tastes, but I'm not going to time it with a stopwatch to get them to an arbitrary percentage.

"Left off show" complaints are turned on: Off - My written contract guys are getting a paid day off if I don't book them, and I never told the PPA freelance guys they'd be getting booked in the first place, why would they complain? Also, it's hilarious how they love me when I give them time off in the bonuses section, yet hate me when I give them time off by not booking them. Just disable this to avoid illogical complaints.

Match aim requirements are turned on: Off - TEW2016's most annoying handcuffs - restrictive, nonsensical, and unrealistic. I don't need these tags to designate which of my matches are comedy or car crashes, that's very evident without them.

Momentum effects are turned on: On - Booking doesn't make a lot of sense without this, you can't just throw a loser into a main event and expect it to get the same rating as if he'd won his last 10 matches, regardless of overness. When I find this system too harsh I cheese the game by booking some "major success" angles.

Sex appeal requirements are turned on: Off - I like sex appeal but I don't require the game to inform me how much is necessary.

Worker overuse penalties are turned on: Off - Not a bad idea in theory but too harsh in practice. I like the idea of being able to base a single TV show around a midcarder finally getting a shot. If he sucks that'll be in the rating anyway, he doesn't need another penalty on top of that. It would make more sense if this penalty was based on how often he was used in a month (or even a few months) rather than a single show.

Production effects are turned on: On - Outgunning other companies with presentation is a real thing. It's kinda stupid to watch all my opponents overspending on this and then collapsing into bankruptcy three months later, making me suffer all those penalties due to bad AI, but whatever.

Lifestyle effects are turned on: On - Heavy drug use would effect in-ring performance so this makes sense.

Show main events at the top of lists: On - This is how it's done irl but doesn't effect gameplay either way.

    Pretty much ditto.

  4. Been away from the internet for the past week or so but I managed to play a bit of the newly patched game (my last patch was #10) last night and had a blast. Really impressed with the workload and consistent news updates from Adam regarding the graphics and whatnot. No issues laying down my money at all now, the game now feels like a true sequel. Fingers crossed this means that the 2024 beta goes much smoothly hahaha. The new background mockups look awesome compared to 2016.

Big ups to those of you that gave productive critique! Even those of you who had emotional hot takes, I'm sure your worries propelled the development into being as fast as it was. 22 patches before release! Wow.

EDIT: Kijar, I noticed that as well. A fix would be nice.

  5. This might already be something that is part of the final tweaking so apologies if it is something that has already been taken on board but looking at the new worker profile screen, the space given to skills is still a little inefficient and not as user-friendly as it could be, in my opinion. In a similar way to the restructure of the office screen, is something like this possible:

    T8NdEJG.jpg

It makes better use of the space, you don't have to scroll any more, you can see all the stats at a glance, they are separated by type of stat. Personally I would really like that sort of change but don't know how feasible it is in terms of coding (if the programme only allows the list to be exported as one for that screen, obviously this wouldn't be possible).

Post this in suggestions, we'll all bump it.

  6. Any chance we can get worker picture previews while forming a tag team? I'm playing with promotions and characters I wouldn't dare touch in 2013 and 2016 and without writing down the names of two workers I want to pair, I have to slam a few extra clicks to remind myself as I may or may not play these games incredibly inebriated on plant matter :D There is a whole blank area (marked in lime green) just above the existing buttons that would've fit a few more snuggly with just a few tweaks. I know this is probably out of the question now. Please ignore the buttons that aren't teams and stables as I am about to head to bed, although a creative button there wouldn't hurt at all and I also miss the grid quick roster that I think has been taken out? Just an idea!

    4HBPsGt.jpg

That and of course, not being able to access stables and teams from the add segment screen with one easy click like we could in 2016. I'm having to go to the roster, and then I need to click on the worker to access the first character page, then I need to click again to access the workers' information page, then I'm having to personal information, squint, write down his tag team partner, hit back twice and finally fill in the information I needed.

This hits me especially hard when I am going hard on big, varied stables like the new game seems to want me to. I wouldn't keep complaining but I seem to of gotten used to almost every other change and that one sticks out for me quite badly.

  7. The Tag Team management screen is SO much better. Being able to easily see which workers have chemistry, and if they've tagged before, not to mention their disposition and perception level, is fantastic.

The only complaint I have about the new Tag Team page is lack of worker pictures being visible after you selected each partner. I forget names quite a bit and rely on visual cues. I'm so bad at remembering names lol. Obviously there is ways around this but I feel like it could do with a graphical touch.

  8. Got the demo last night and I think it looks OK.

The largest problem I'm having is the larger size is wreaking havoc on the window sizes. Meaning if I click on a button triggering a window, I can't close the window.

Do I need to look into getting a larger monitor?

My high-end desktop gaming computer running on a cheap Samsung barely has a noticable difference between 2016 and 2020. However when I tried to run 2020 on my mums' laptop, I soon realized what a lot of you were complaining about. Totally overlapped my start bar and was having to alt+tab every time I needed to access my browser. It seems to be a resolution + screen size issue but can't promise you.

  9. I dont think the 70s influence is meant to be with regards to Wacky Themes. Personally I always took it as MAW having very straight forward simple booking. Theres actually not a lot of wacky stuff going on but characters get a bit more freedom to be charismatic with promos & occasional interviews. I took it very much like EVOLVE around '17 with a bit less creativity in angles.

    50c0c4cf347e9fe3d002dac1f4bb1598.png

I dont watch a lot of older school wrestling but the product very much aligns with my tastes. A hint of showmanship/character work but a large focus on the in ring story and rivalries.

It probably isnt far off from ROH in the 00s.

Perhaps wacky wasn't the right word. It's definitely not what I meant. I was thinking more, uh, dated pop cultural ideas? But thanks for summary, appreciate it! Big fan of 2003-2006 Ring of Honors in-ring product but have always felt like their lack of off-the-wall larger than life gimmicks have kept me from running any interesting long term saves. MAW might be just what I've been looking for :)

  10. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="jcw163" data-cite="jcw163" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="48828" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Thanks for the tag team recommendations by the way. As mentioned I'm at the end of my trial time but have put some offers in and will see what happens when the full game comes out.<p> </p><p> But....Waldorf and Statler? They're good wrestlers but...those names? Really?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Compared to some of the poor souls roaming the C-Verse with ridiculously unassuming names, I'd say they're far from the short end of the stick <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  11. What's the difference in booking this product to say, an ROH real life counterpart? How does the 70s influence play a factor other than the western and wacky themes? I've always had an idea, but just wondering if somebody could break down the spirit of MAW for me. I've always enjoyed the name, graphics and themes but booking an heavily old school influenced promotion in modern day whilst trying to take my save seriously has always scared me away from Mid Atlantic a little bit.
  12. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Texasrangers13" data-cite="Texasrangers13" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="48821" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Biggest thing I noticed with my RW mod conversion was the rebalancing of stables for the first two weeks or so. 14. "List of fixes completed so far" in the tech support forum. You need the latest patch.

I'm glad it says "WIP", because the colors do still need some tweaking. As I mentioned over in the suggestion forum, the light green looks more blue than green to me when you put it alongside actual blue. And I'd be happy if we could get dark blue for A vs light blue for A* like we had before. Still, a step in the right direction.

    Thanks a bunch.
