  1. Is there a video or a post that explains the Cornellverse somewhere?

    Like the back story. Or at least the main parts.

    Id like to figure it out but its a lot of information. Think about trying to learn about the past 15 years of pro wrestling in the real world. Its quite daunting.

    But knowing the bullet points would be nice. Main storyline that occurred. What happened outside the wrestling world. What companies bought others, improved or folded. Etc etc.

    Would be really interesting to read up on or hear someone explain. Instead of going through hundreds of bios trying to figure it out one by one...

    As helpful as this wiki is, nothing beats just going in blind. Start your own small independent promotion, hire some cheap workers, learn how to book them well and move your way up!

  2. It’s been said that this isn’t his day job. I honestly don’t know what to say. I don’t know why these decisions were made. I don’t know why more people weren’t consulted. I don’t know why UX/UI experts weren’t invited. I don’t know why testers didn’t raise flags. I don’t know why Adam pitched a game with “less clicking” and the final product is the exact opposite.

    I honestly don’t have these answers and it just comes off that Adam thinks there’s a specific way people should play and that mods don’t matter.

    I understand your perspective man, I really do. I was one of the people who booted up the trial for ten minutes before rage quitting and spouting my complaints all over this thread. As a non-modder, eventually I gave it another go and fell in love with the C-Verse changes enough for me to get over the ugly ass UI. I must just have higher bullshit tolerance lol, he'll get my money but it'll be the first time my heart wasn't 100% in it.

    Fingers crossed he learns from his mistakes and pulls together a true closed beta team from the vast selection of dudes and dudettes (who am I kidding lol) here in love with this series more than any AAA sports title and want to see it succeed. Keeping die-hards from testing the game months out due to it not being fair to modders is a cop out and I hope there truly is a better answer sometime down the line. If this isn't his day job and he can support himself financially in the long run, maybe it's time to bring in some new workers. There's a tonne of high level programmers and designers about who would honestly probably do the work for free. Although at the price tag, surely Adam can spare a cut. I'd just like to see him go back to exclusively programming as he clearly has a vision for the future of the game mechanics but has had to split his time into other areas of the game.

    A year off really would've done it justice considering TEW is his flagship. An updated Wrestling Spirit while this was completed would of been cool. It just really does remind me of when THQ went out of business and 2K rushed to get their first game out based on a new engine and models and it was shallow as hell. I see so much potential, I don't mean to sound so overly positive about the game!

  3. Some of mine from older saves:

    Randy Bumfhole -> Randy Ravishing

    Squeeky McClean -> John Ambush

    Zimmy Bumfhole -> Z-Killa

    Champagne Lover -> Latino Lover

    Rich Money -> Sir Paul Parsons

    Swoop McCarthy -> Macho McCarthy

    Aaron Andrews -> Triple A

    Nicky Champion -> The Hawk

    Rocky Golden -> The Gold Standard

    Mighty Mo -> Mo Barrett

    What I usually do for them is take stuff from their gimmick, backstory, real name and some of my own creativity to create a new name that makes sense but that I also find more interesting!

    Decked out with rerenders to that fit their new personas

    Might have to steal that! I've never liked the name Aaron for a top tier guy but Triple A has some weight to it :D

  4. I’m not creative at all lol. Maybe this thread can have more creative name ideas for someone like me.

    I'm not judging lol (Secretely I'm just butthurt because Logan Wolfsbaine is a favorite of mine and I think his name rules no matter what promotion he's signed to!), surely you have some gimmick ideas and names to go pair with them deep down! Name generators can be a big help, there's a bunch of them. I don't really mess around with names too much. On the off chance I do, it's usually to give a masked worker a maskless moniker as a lot of the C-Verse luchador names don't fit a bare face haha

  5. I think if Genadi and certain mod makers are thinking of leaving there are CLEARLY issues with this game. Honestly, I’d be happy with delaying this game until 2021 if it means a better product.

    There are absolutely issues 100%, but how do you expect Adam to fund another years' development cycle without annual profit? The least we can hope for is continued support to perfect what we've got. 2024 is a long way away but after another year working on top of this new base code, it's gonna be a killer app and I hope to see all of you leaving return when that time comes. If TEW 2016 was a 9/10, I'll give the 2020 beta trial a solid 7.5/10 with potential to hit that 8 with a few fixes. This really isn't a huge disappointment for me, a slight letdown but the more I play the more I understand why some features needed to be scrapped to make way for new ideas going forward.

  6. Not at all it was a generalisation that there are members here who are will take the opportunity to criticise regardless of what Adam does and will seemingly never be happy.

    The game is made in Adams vision and if people really don't like it then they are not forced to buy it.

    I personally feel all the new features make it an even better game than 2016 and can't wait for full release

    It just makes me wonder how many people are neglecting the C-Verse! I've always found it the true way to experience these games, the mods being additional content for new game+. This new system makes the C-Verse play how it always should've.

  7. With all due respect, I disagree. From what I've looked at in the products and the extra customization options to further tweak them. You very much can get any promotion running today a product that will closely run to what they do now. Also Adam has already tweaked some based on suggestions so if you have ideas for tweaks or new ones there shouldn't be an issue. Not to mention I've been playing around in MrVillian's conversion of idols 2004 mod and companies seem pretty true to what they where. From reading the dev journal Adam has made this game with the mod community in mind from day one. Will it take getting used to? Yes. Are you going to not have to get a million replies to your mod telling you the comedy level of WWE is set to low/high? Very Much so.

    I agree. I'm very much not someone who ever overly tweaked products but it seems like everything is touched on in the list. If it means tighter gameplay mechanics, I'm all for it. I understand the argument of complete customization being nerfed but I enjoy how much this system changes new saves up as it was ever so easy to just match your product to your booking style and blast your way to #1. It would've been nice to make them customization for modders, though.

When the delay was announced, I wasn't expecting many patches the week of and thought that everything would be coming at a slowed pace but if he keeps this up I'm a very happy customer! Especially if we get another 5-10 game fixing updates. Every one is like taking a chisel to a fossilized masterpiece; it's under there and it's looking clearer everyday.</p><p> </p><p> EDIT: New status update just dropped. I'm happy. I'll get over the grades.</p>

Demo has always been public BETA and daily patches are the norm. It was either 13 or 16 we had at least two I think maybe three (depending on your time zone) patches in just one day.<p> </p><p> I'm just saying (and again with all due respect) this rocky demo and subsequent daily patching was expected by many of us even after being assured by Adam almost weekly things were going great. This isn't the first time many have questioned and asked for improvement in transparency in the development process <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I don't remember 2016 having nightly patches. Maybe 4 or 5 in the first week? Could be wrong?</p><p> </p><p> EDIT: Just checked, they capped off at 11. Pretty sure we're going to get quite a few more.</p>

  12. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Jaded" data-cite="Jaded" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47568" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>As far as I understand it, you're right - current product has the gameplay effect; however core product is used to provide a company's identity - they won't (at least under AI control) move significantly far away from that product. For example, Attitude Era would be the current product in a Sports Entertainment base product game? Am I understanding this right or not?</p>

This would make alliances super worth while if someone else has a broadcaster and you are struggling to get network deals, also.</p>
  14. If the text was a least still a graphic we could design it and change it what he wanted, I personally used the number/grades custom graphics and it gave me a real sense of accomplishment when I booked well, now we lost the graphical customization, the text is too darn small and it is now yellow for some reason when we used to use light blue to signify the best despite the fact that in no scale ever has yellow been better than green

    Agreed. We've always known TEW was just a graphical skin over a spread sheet but graphics in general would be nice. The facade is ruined, the game broke kayfabe!
