In testing and experimenting, it seems like mediocre Performance skills go up more on young workers if they are working against solid vets moreso than mediocre top row skills do. But I would also consider what type of promotion it is - a performance based company will need those top row skills moreso than an entertainment company.

Yeah I've noticed the rather slow top row skill gains in this version- but I am running a pop>perf company so having even main eventers with average top row skills hasn't been killing my match grades.

I am thinking of making that my dojo focus when I get around to setting one up. I noticed none of the AI dojos use that one and those to me are pretty crucial skills to have in a young wrestler.

 3. Quick question about Dojo's- most of the emphases as pretty self-explanatory, but I was curious abou the Basic Training focus. Anyone know what that does as opposed to general training?
 4. Thanks guys- was super easy. Not sure how I didn't figure that one out <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
 5. How does one add a picture for an alter ego? Can it be done with a game in progress, and can I used one of the unused pictures that come with the Cverse?
 6.

Do production penalties care about how badly you're failing, or is it just Pass/Fail? ie, does it matter how many more companies have higher values? Or how many levels higher they are?

It seems to care- if you are two levels below, I recall the message "worse than" whereas when I moved up to one level below, it said "slightly worse than." Not sure if there is an actual difference, but the wording suggests there is.

 7. It's down to personal preference. I have mine at medium and am satisfied with the amount of injuries I get, but I know others have set to high and liked that as well.
 8. There are templates you can use and then adjust from there- makes it a bit easier. I think I chose the Diplomat one, then adjusted a bit after that.
 9. For me the best ones are hands down diplomacy and leadership. These will help you sort out relationship problems and create a better backstage environment. The negotiation for me didn't save my much money to make it worth it. Creativity is good, as it helps with getting better gimmick ratings, motivating I haven't really tampered with at all- I just leave it in the middle.
 10.

I don't understand how overness works. Once people get to midcard level, they seem to freeze unless I cannibalise someone else's overness by having them beat a upper midcarder/main eventer.

In my game, Morgan Malone has a Legendary gimmick, has won 80% of his matches against midcarders (most on TV), has regular angles and has held two titles - and yet his overness has not changed a single point.

Am I missing something, or do I have to drag someone else down to boost him?

He could be capped- all workers have an overness cap set at the start of a game. If not, then one way to to boost overness without killing another guy is use the booking notes- protect or keep strong so they don't lose as much in losing- you trade off a little bit in match grades but it can be worth it to get a guy over. You can also put them into angles with more over workers and they can gain that way.

The thing is though, if you get him over, you will have to push him higher or he'll become unhappy, and then if you want to keep him there, he will have to win at the expense of someone else at times.

I understand all that. It's those that refuse to make the change I'm having trouble with. I have lots of guys who's max is bigger than current but they do not want to make the change.

If they don't want to do it, then you're stuck unless you edit the change in yourself via the ingame editor. If you do that, though, I think you don't get the skill benefits that would potentially come with a "natural" increase.

 12.

Uhm, so the other 5 wrestlers you speak off, wouldn't be used or I just rotate them... Already got a little bit of an idea. So the better thing to do, is to hire 12 cheap wrestlers, do a monthly show consisting of 3 single matches. 6 wrestlers per show, no more.

I had 6 total to start, no one costing more than $300 plus my user character who is free. I always play with myself as an owner but if you have a wrestler as an owner he will wrestle or work free if a ref or something until you have 10k in the bank or so. A cheap ref and that is it. I ran three matches and three angles per show on a 1 hour show.

I did 2 shows a month for the first six months, and ran up a debt, but it was necessary to build as much popularity as possible to start. After that I ran 1 show a month and started making a profit near the end of the year and was out of the red in 17 months or so.

Basically, it doesn't matter if you hire twelve and use 6, or just have 6, but the problem you potentially will have is unhappy workers if they get regularly left off shows.

They are killing me because the have SWF fitting their production bill for them.

Yep, they killed me too in that way. I eventually climbed to regional and they stayed small and got away from it, but yeah I could never get past them in that regard.

 15.

Hi there guys. I still don't understand how can I start the company and don't go to bankrupcy. How much you get paid by sponsors? Can I start with a 12-man roster? Which is the tactic to maintain the starting company?

12 wrestlers is far too big for this challenge. You should have 6- yourself, and five more, and they need to be as cheap as you can possibly get. Aside from that, a lot depends on your starting economy and industry. If they are good, you can do fine, if not, it's very tough.

In this thread are various do's and dont's for early finances.

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=533595&highlight=0%2F0%2F0%2F0

The latter part of thread is after some patches that leveled the difficulty out.

 16. They can gain or lose sex appeal, star quality, or menace- not sure on the exact numbers though.

Anything I should be aware of now?

You will get production comparisons to other small feds in your country and those will lower your match ratings a bit. 20.
I'll ask this again as it either got lost in the shuffle of this mad thread, or no one knows <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

What influences how a UC can change body type? That might work in a performance based company, but if you have popularity matter the 0 pop debuts are painful for the company. You take a much smaller penalty that way.

Yep- like you I run Pop>Perf feds, and you have to acquire these guys slowly. I once made the mistake of filling out a roster with cheapo debuts after I jumped to small to meet the minimum wrestler requirement and my first few shows were dreadful <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

What is probably happening is your popularity is remaining static. If you are still gaining pop but attendance is leveling off, it might b a poor industry or economy or both.

In reality you really can't go practice being more menacing. Just like you can't go practice having more sex appeal or more Star Quality.

The only thing you can do to change those on cam qualities is work out and change the way you look. Get more muscular etc. There's no magic facial expression that you can learn to make you more menacing.

I hear what you are saying, but certainly disagree that it is all down to a static look alone. There are body language aspects to being menacing as well as being sexy. It's a bit like acting. Take any well-known hottie and have her hunch over and clubfoot into the ring like quasi-modo and you'll lose a bunch of sex appeal. I don't think it needs to rise rapidly, or a lot, but surely learning mannerisms, postures, etc. plays a part. Nonetheless, it works like it works, so I'll just have to have my UC go up in size, and hope he can get muscular at some point <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
