I'm surprised. I've run 2 RTG companies and raised them from 0 popularity to small.
(well one all the way to E popularity and my dynasty is at F+ popularity but hasn't officially become "small")

In that time I never got a warning about repetitive booking.

But I do only have 1 show a month and I'm careful to rotate the matchups so that no match reoccurs more often than once every four months at the start when I have 6 workers. Once I get a few more, it tends to grow to no more often than once every 6 months.

I never got it at 1 show a month, but did when running 2 a month, which I did for the first 6 months. I had just 6 workers, so right near the end of the 6 months I was running into it.

The best way around this is to turn off the repetitive booking penalty in user preferences until you hit small to simulate the fact that the fans know you have a tiny promotion and will be running some repetitive matches.

I would think it should be an improvable skill as it's more than just a look, but mannerisms, body language, etc. Ah well, here's hoping to luck into a body type change at some point <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I know I'm some way from making any major money... but is there a point in a growing company's popularity where there's a significant jump in income? Or is it always a gradual increase?

My last month running a show, I lost $3, which I can't help but feel is the game taunting me <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

The only significant jump in income I have seen is the ticket sales when you move up a level, otherwise, it is just a steady growth in sponsorship and attendance (assuming stable economy and industry) as you gain pop.

It's the same when you have worker out, you can still reference them in angles as off screen to push storylines.

It seems that in TEW16, they will defer taking a wage until you become profitable, though

 9.

There are some tradeoffs in the game logic. This one is based on the premise that the "smart" wrestling fans check out the internet and note what people are saying about the experience at the other companies the same size as yours, so if you aren't putting on as good a show with a good policy of uploading top quality video highlights, they tend to look a bit down on your shows overall.

Not really realistic, but its used to cover a number of things. And it does force the player to make a few more intelligent decisions.

Yeah- I should have added that while it bugs me to an extent, I like the added layer of planning and strategy it brings, so now I am facing whether to improve my roster or upgrade a production area. I chose the upgrade, but I like that I had to think it through pretty carefully.

 10.

I don't mind that the production penalties are so stiff, I just don't see why I'm being compared to companies running shows in New York and California if I'm running shows in Chicago.

I kind of agree with you here as it's annyoing. In my current game I am based in the Southeast and having regional battle in the mid-Atlantic with PSW and NYCW, but we all run our shows in our home region. It's a long way from Mississippi to Pittsburgh. Where it makes sense to me,though, is that the battle is occurring in the spillover areas, where fans of regional wrestling have some options to choose from. I can see the arguments from both sides, as I get annoyed that I would lose a regional battle to QAW when our products are so different- why would fans of women's wrestling care what my shows look like when I don't run women's wrestling? Yet, a general wrestling fan who is willing to give any product a chance might make the comparison

On the flip side, we are talking about regional companies here, so indy, or small shows. Do people really expect them to have WWE production values? So if my DVD distribution has only a couple camera angles, my show looks worse compared to a promotion 2000 miles away that uses an extra camera? Or my live event crew is smaller than a company in NYC? I should think at the Cult or National levels where you are truly competing for a share of a broad market, the production comparisons are more relevant.

 11. I haven't look at the exact numbers as I always use letter grades (just like the mystery of it I guess), but in my experience, it does knock you down at least one level, so a C- show becomes a D+. Where you start to be okay is when you are close to the best, so now my messages is slightly worse than at least one rival in three of the four production areas. I am still at small, but regional is coming up fast, and I might sit on small for a while because the next step of production cost a minimum of 20k a month to get them all up to par.
 12. So I just read it, but I didn't see anything about it being significantly less for a shorter angle vs a longer one- just that angle length is a factor in pop gain. Obviously it is reasonable that a longer angle would gain a bit more, but I can't imagine it being drastic- how much more valuable is an extra 2 minutes of angle time?
 13. Is this right? I know 4 minutes are the minimum for skill development, but I thought 5 minutes was the minimum for pop gains? Would matter a lot to me as I have been booking angles for my top workers at 5 minutes.
 14.

Logan Wolfsbaine v Seth Witehead (Wolfsbaine against anybody, really) is a licence to print money. You'll easily start hitting the D/C- with him on your roster, especially after he gets the improvements of touring Japan

Absolutely. In fact, I almost didn't hire him because of that, but I caved in the end. In my fifth year now and he is making $1000/pa and hasn't become a douche. Whitehead has been slower developing, still in my midcard scene, but to be fair, I haven't pushed him that hard.

 15.
My first show scored an E- which as MVargus says, is plenty to get your pop boost. My starting roster per appearance looked like this:

UC- Free

Cobra- $300

Seth Whitehead $280

Hawkeye Calhoun $270

Logan Wolfsbaine $260

Martyr $260

Samael the Accuser $300

Anders Thunder $270

Referee Gregory Chapman $210

I ran into the sausage fest penalty, so I added Cheyenne at $220 for the next show. Total wage bill ended at $2370 per show. You can go cheap and still do quite well. Mad Dog Mortimer is also out there and you get him for around $260 and there are other if you poke around a bit.

 16. They are cheap, but a couple at least are too expensive for the RTG as it is with current finances- Austin Smooth is $400pa, Silencer is $500 so in an ideal situation he'd have three workers at that price. Desert Storm is somewhere around $400-500 and I think Mark Smart starts out in that range also. Just saving that $500/mo. on worker costs can make a massive difference in this year's version.

 18. What I did in my current save was hire 7 workers at no more than $300 per show, and some for less, cheapo ref, two shows a month for the first six months, then one a month thereafter, and got out of the red in about 14 months. Doubling up on the shows early was important, because you can build some good pop out of the gate without getting too far into debt, and the sponsorship rise you get will eventually save you

I ran v1.03 through that entire period so not sure if it's been revised since, but I don't see any mention of changing it when skimming the update logs.

Yeah, okay, so it dragged out for 3-4 months. Interesting!

 21.

The warning is different than actually being shut down for bankruptcy. You start getting negative points with the creditors after the grace period ends, so if Jan 2017 ended and your finances were negative you'd have gotten a point on the "bank patience" ledger. The warning for debt is due to that.

But from what Adam said in the other thread, it should take 6 months before you get shut down completely. He never said you couldn't get a warning before that time.

True, but in a few attempts with this I found the shut down could happen as quickly as a week after the warning, or several weeks. I never seen it last out four months after getting the warning, though I conceded I don't know for sure how long it can take before the closure happens.

 22.

From the discussion regarding this that was on in the thread about 0/0/0/0 finances, it sounds like normally if your company is less than 1 years old, your counter for bankruptcy would not start. And the normal delay once the year was up was about 6 months, so a company founded on say Jan 2016, has until June 2017 to get out of debt.

So the question is when you set up the company when did you set the debut date to? If you set it in the past, rather than as if it opened the first day you were playing, you wouldn't get the 1 year grace period.

If you are playing in C-Verse 2016, set the company's debut date to Jan 2016. For a mod, set the debut date to the start date for the game. That should give you more time.

In my case I set the debut for Jan 16, opened in Jan 16 and still got the financial warning before the 18 months was up, so it appears that the 18 months is probably more of a rough estimate than a strict rule.

Or is that only the case if you're both the owner and booker?

I started my own company as booker, in 11 months we'd fallen to 5k in debt, although we were starting to turn things around and my company has been closed

It doesn't appear to be a hard and fast 18 months, because I got the financial warning after 14 months in my current save.

 24. Quick Editor question: I went into the data and changed by user avatar's picture and some information, now when I check my roster and highlight the worker, the old info and picture is there, but when I click on the profile it shows my updated info. How can I get it to change so that the roster list shows my updates?
