  1. It sounds like you might be overcomplicating a bit but at the same time I get it. Actually what your full vision sounds like is trying to start a new belt in the form of one that's been around for a long time. I'd say start this belt off as just a standard title. Then several reigns in have a dominant champ add the bit about the flags for extra self-challenge and the company just keeps that stipulation going forward. Then a little while after that, do something like the Austin Aries Birth of Option C story to add the opportunity to trade the belt in for a world title shot. So it ends up where you want it and there's story reason for the added features.
  2. Can't blame you on the American Males thing. Thing that got me back in the day is that the USWA had a guy, I want to say Curtis Thompson, who had a very similar U.S. Male nickname and whose backstory suggested he'd been a letter carrier prior to wrestling. Although whether that was legit or merely kayfabe I don't remember ever knowing. So I used to wonder why WCW didn't just snatch him up if they wanted an "American Male" type. As for the alternate name thing, do you intend for the crowd to be aware that Bagwell & Riggs are themselves? If not, prior to building his name in WCW, Bagwell had wrestled in the GWF as The Handsome Stranger. Sort of a romance novel hero gimmick where he gave roses to the women in the crowd and wore a Long Ranger style mask to hide his identity. You could extend that to Riggs as well to have a pair of Handsome Strangers.
  3. I know what you mean. Before Miro returned, everybody was prattling on and on about how we needed him and his hollow cult leader without any followers nonsense back. Kip's the guy we need back. With all the grunting and groaning we hear these days about AEW = All Ex WWE, we could use a big return from a guy who was prominent before all the big name hunting started. Kip jumping back in the fray would be perfect for that. Not to mention the opportunity it would give him to prove his point about how underrated he was all along. There's too much good in Kip's return for him to just continue sitting around with a box on his head.
  4. Fun idea. Been wondering where the catch-all wrestling threads were for topics that aren't promotion specific so glad to see this start up. Will have to get a list together. But for now, I will just drop the one that jumped in my head during Blood & Guts. Jon Moxley vs Pagano. I pray there's a way AEW & AAA can get together and make this happen. That would be such an epic brawl. And I'd love to see who'd get to the skewers first. The moment Mox shish kabobbed Angelo Parker I marked out over the move check. The barbecue skewers are a staple of Pagano's repertoire. So I'd love to see whether the hardcore psycho clown would in-character consider Mox imitating his move to be a form of flattery or an affront to be avenged. All I know is every time I see skewers in a wrestling ring I get flashbacks to Abdullah The Butcher and his fork.
  5. Question for the Crusader Kings peeps around here. Picked up CK2 on Steam the better part of a year ago but only got around to diving in last night. Have only the base game at the moment because I figure I can get the DLC's down the road once I'm good and comfortable in the game. And besides, there's already so much in the game to get one's head around. I haven't even left the first day of the learning scenario yet despite having mucked around for three or four decent length game sessions. Kinda know I want to get Alfonso married, that I want to firm up the family bonds and who I want to mess with. I was just kind of curious what y'all's first actions were and how you got the ball rolling. I'm still trying to figure out the mechanics so pointers on the basics would be appreciated.
  6. The one question that jumps to my mind is how this works if at all on the indie level. Can certainly see this at the upper reaches of the sport like the examples you cited. But as someone to tends to play lower level feds, I struggle to see how this would apply to someone like me without being a cheap boost to gaining pop levels. Maybe this could be size limited and be a reason for one to seek advanced growth.
  7. Did you watch MJF in MLW by chance? While he was there, he led a stable with Richard Holiday and Alexander Hammerstone known as The Dynasty. If you watch the old promos and such they did together, I could easily see Miz fitting that "dynastic" vibe and giving it more cachet at the WWE level. Now as a Hammerstone fan, I'd like to think he'd be a big enough star that he wouldn't need to be a support guy in a global stable by 2025. But put another up and coming power guy in his role and you could be set.
  8. Don't want to take this thread too far afield as your sentiment should probably be one of its own. But I'm right there with you. Not only for the reason you put put forth which is definitely true, but also because it was such a valuable aid for games you had to put on hold. It's been much harder to come back to unattended saves since storylines went solely freestyle. Seeing where you left off by where you were in the ongoing stories was a big help in moving forward.
  9. Here's the Story Browser thread. Hope it helps. http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=538239
  10. Yes. And a lot of the stories that were most used from those times are still around. I don't know if you've seen the Story Browser utility or not but it contains a lot of the stories that were big where premade stories were a thing. The historical storylines from Death of The Territories, Sonfaro's then-contemporary real world stories. And even a couple of my own. It's a wonderful program and I can't recommend it enough. It's a godsend for people looking for a safety net to help them with how storylines have been handled since 2013. And sorry it took so long to answer. April is often a whirlwind of activity for me. Been meaning to do it sooner. Just been too scattered
  11. There are two things I would suggest for this. Number 1 is the Story Browser utility. It runs in Liberty BASIC and is essentially a compendium of the major storylines that were popular before chained stories were removed from the game. It contains some of just about everything you could ever want. Real world storylines ranging from the 60's to the 2000's, WWE video game storylines. Singles. Tags. Stables. Debut stories. I believe the download link was originally in the TEW 16 forum. But I can do some rooting around later and post the thread link in here to make things easier. The other thing is to use what you know. That browser program also has a couple stories inspired by parables in the Bible that were in my Cappy Pack story mod circa TEW 10. My purpose in creating the Cappy Pack collection was to fill in content gaps in the story stock at the time. Things like tag team stories, Romance angles. Family friendly stories. To do this, I took from what I knew. Using stories from classical mythology, Bible stories and beloved kiddie TV shows like My Little Pony, iCarly, and Fraggle Rock. It made for a very eclectic mix but nonetheless was well received because it brought fresh and useful perspectives to the story pool. I believe I still have my outline doc of all the storylines I've committed to screen on my hard drive. I haven't looked lately because this is one of the busy periods in my year. But I can root around on this computer and post that file as well if I can find it. Those were all put together on a computer that has since died. So I have to double check that it got backed up. However, if I'm remembering correctly and I still have that file, I'll happily upload that as well. I created those outlines to share after all.
  12. Very welcome news. CBH was a terrific game even with its limits and I may look into re-acquiring it when the busy season I'm in at the moment. Will be interesting to see how you build on an already strong universe and what new wrinkles await in the upcoming game.
  13. My first thought would be whether you could pull a Daniel Bryan with Simmons. Like flip his name around and call him something like Simon Jurgenson. That would simplify his name for announcers without straying too far from his essence.
  14. Oh indeed. My pre-shows in my training feds tend to be a tag match of either teams I've thrown together for chem testing, units I'm trying to get team experience or a combo of the two. Paired with interviews for both units. That way they get practice being on mic as well. I've seen several posts in here over the years of people doing this. And while this isn't my usual pattern, I've held similar battle royals occasion. Might do more of it if I played large rosters. But I tend to be small feds so I don't often have that many leftovers. I've also seen screenshots where the player has done the angle version of this. Having an announcer hype a full division of workers all at once. Remianen in particular seems to do this a lot in his female fed saves. Also, if you've seen my Cappy Pack story mods, you'll find a story called War of Words. It's in the second pack IIRC. It's all about a worker getting doubted for his speaking ability rather than his wrestling. The culmination of the storyline is a debate segment which was designed to allow unused wrestlers to participate as questioners in addition to closing out the storyline. I've also used that debate angle on post-shows to aid with mic training.
