If it made sense I think I'd just have Jay wrestle nobodies and Sammy cut promos to advance the feud, purely because this would provide the highest rating. We continue building with Ace (vs Chance) w/ Devine Fortune vs The Syndicate. One Man Army joins the storyline as well but not really aligned with anybody, just specifically against Doc Hammond in his pursuit of the World Heavyweight Championship. The Elite have been taking some losses recently (and potentially more?) but this is purely to advance guys that are important in the future upper echelon of the card. A guy like Darryl Devine (who I really like) needed a gimmick change and a big singles victory. The win and gimmick change made sure his momentum changed from chilled to warm. A few guys predicted Jeremie over Fonzarelli, and I can see why, but I feel Danny still has a little bit left in him. Even if it's a little bit.

He gets in the ring and welcomes the fans to the show, before talking about more important manners] Aaron Andrews: “Last week, in the main event of Total Wrestling...you know what...just come out here Chance...if you’ve got something to say to me...let’s get it out the way” [The fans give a mixed reaction, perhaps surprised because this is the first time in a long time Aaron hasn’t had a lot to say. Surely enough, the music of ‘Lucky’ Chance Fortune hits and another mixed reaction follows. Chance marches down to the ring, microphone in hand, and stops just short of Andrews as a staredown ensues. Chance gets ready to talk but it takes him a while to find the words] Chance Fortune: “Do you really...really not get it? Of course you wouldn’t, Mr. Total Wrestling...Ace...Threatening Behaviour...2014...does that ring a bell, Aaron? I remember it like it was yesterday...we were defending our tag team championships against Stone and Huggins...the referee was taken out...and I felt a steel chair...SMACK...me in the back” Aaron Andrews: “Chance that w---” Chance Fortune: “5 years ago? You know at first I figured it was their valets...you know, Vita....Freddy’s sister Laura...but then I saw...my best god damn friend standing over me with a steel chair” Aaron Andrews: “It was a long time ago...Mike…” (Chance’s real name) Chance Fortune: “Don’t...don’t call me that. I’ve had to...live with the fact my former best friend stabbed me in the back and then kicked my ass at A Little South of Sanity...and then won the World Heavyweight Championship a year later...before suddenly being paraded as the good guy because...well that’s where even I stop understanding the story” Aaron Andrews: “I’m not that guy anymore man” Chance Fortune: “And I know a lot of people will chalk this up to being jealous...or bitter...well you’re goddamn right! I’m meant to be the LUCKY one! Well I guess when the higher ups teamed us up last week..they forgot all about The L.A. Connection” Aaron Andrews: “Look, what do you want..Chance? Anyth---” [The music of The Elite hits and out comes Eddie Chandler, Nate Johnson and their enforcer Chris Flynn] Nate Johnson: “Guys...guys...guys...as much as we’re all tearing up because of this deep emotional trauma...I think it’s time you both let the real wrestlers talk” Eddie Chandler: “You know Nate...I think Chance might have a point...Aaron Andrews...is a fraud!” Aaron Andrews: “We’ll see how much of a fraud I am when I kick your ass later tonight!” [by this point, The Elite and Chris have got on different sides of the apron and surrounded Aaron and Chance, but just when they’re about to attack… Out comes Darryl Devine! He charges to the ring and immediately knocks Nate Johnson off the apron! Eddie and Chris drop down to check on their ally as Darryl gets on the top rope and pumps the fans up. He takes his tag partner Chance’s microphone] Darryl Devine: “Enough with the talking from both sides...how about we get the opening match of the night underway...and Nate...you’re about to get your ass kicked...and it will be ‘mighty fine’” Segment Rating: 86 Notes: Darryl Devine cemented a gimmick change from Underdog to Mighty Fine, it got a rating of great! </div> <div style="padding: 15px; border: 6px solid #0F6D13; margin:10px;background: #F1F1F1; max-width:75%;box-shadow: 0 3px 12px " ;"=""> 'Mighty Fine' Darryl Devine vs 'The Natural' Nate Johnson Strength vs Speed: The two lock up immediately and Nate throws Darryl to the ground. Darryl is quick to rebound to his feet however and surprises Nate with a spinning neckbreaker! New Devine: The Darryl we saw on the microphone had a new swagger to him, and his in-ring style is also benefitting. He silkily transitions between different holds before dropping Nate with a picture-perfect dropkick! Outside Problems: Aaron, Chance, Eddie & Chris are still at ringside, and Chris times an interference to allow Nate to get the advantage! Chance Fortune runs to Darryl’s aid by laying out Flynn & Chandler in one hit with a massive crossbody! OH MY!: Nate is losing the advantage fast, and when he irish whips Darryl against the ropes he is surprised by a massive leap frog, followed by a Devine Intervention! (Springboard Flying Back Elbow) The signature move gets a two count. DDD: After this, Darryl sets up for his finishing Devine Dream Drop (DDD, aka an RKO) but Nate reverses with an uppercut! Nate goes for a DDT, but Darryl spins out and hits the Devine Dream Drop! The three count is academic! In a decent match, Darryl Devine defeated Nate Johnson in 14:36 by pinfall with a Devine Dream Drop. Winner: Darryl Devine Match Rating: 60 (In-Ring Performances: Darryl Devine: 54, Nate Johnson: 54) </div> <div style="padding: 15px; border: 6px solid #0F6D13; margin:10px;background: #F1F1F1; max-width:75%;box-shadow: 0 3px 12px " ;"=""> Wolf Taunts Ace [Darryl picks up some much-needed momentum as Nate Johnson rolls out the ring. Chance celebrates with his partner as Aaron watches on from the corner. The music of ‘The Alpha’ Wolf Hawkins hits and he comes out with ‘The Silencer’ and number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, Doc Hammond] Wolf Hawkins: “You know, I’m surprised Darryl, what’s that...your first singles win in...four...five months? Enough about you...I came out here to talk to you...Aaron. Of course, through your sheer arrogance...you thought you got the better of me last week when you challenged my right hand man...my...you know what...my ‘best friend’...you’re pretty good with best friends right Ace? Well me and my...best friend have come to an agreement. Doc will kick your ass at Malice in Wonderland and TAKE...your World Heavyweight Championship. He will hold the Championship for a few months...no doubt kicking your ass a few more times...and then he will lie down for me...in the main event of Total Mayhem 24! And that...Aaron….is how you treat your best friend” [With that, Wolf drops the microphone and takes his leave. Aaron normally has a clever retort for everything, and it’s very rare he doesn’t have the final word, but this time he truly has nothing to say] Segment Rating: 79 </div> Shawn Doakes: “What a start to Total Wrestling! Darryl Devine picking up some much needed momentum, Wolf Hawkins supporting his so called best friend and...well...the two men formerly known together as The L.A. Connection almost coming to blows!” Jasmine Saunders: “You can’t blame Chance Fortune for holding a grudge, he never got revenge or retribution.” Kyle Rhodes: “This has been a long time coming Jasmine, this is about more than revenge or retribution. It’s time to move on however, because Benny Benson has a match-up against ‘The Show Stealer’ Roderick Remus.” <div style="padding: 15px; border: 6px solid #0F6D13; margin:10px;background: #F1F1F1; max-width:75%;box-shadow: 0 3px 12px " ;"=""> Benny Benson vs 'The Show Stealer' Roderick Remus Pre-Match: Greg Gauge comes and joins the commentary booth, scouting his future opponent. Close Call: Greg starts shouting at Benny from commentary just as the bell rings, and the distraction gives Roderick the chance to clock Benny with a superkick out of nowhere! This gets a two count as Benny was almost beat in a few seconds! Advantage Remus: Roderick has the advantage though because of this and works over Benny with various rest holds. He is clearly setting up for his Remus Clutch (Cobra Clutch) but he can’t ever get it locked in. Here We Go!: Benny starts his traditional babyface comeback as he hits his signature ‘Benny’s Big Adventure’. This is where he irish whips Roderick into the ropes, leap frogs over Roderick, hits him with an inverted atomic drop and then hits a double leg trip! Benny is fully psyched now with the momentum in his corner! High Concept: Benny is a veteran and doesn’t lose the momentum at this point. Roderick gets up from a near fall and is knocked out cold by a Shockwave from Next Year. (Running Enzuigiri) In a decent match, Benny Benson defeated Roderick Remus in 14:52 by pinfall with a Shockwave From Next Year. Winner: Benny Benson Match Rating: 59 (In-Ring Performances: Benny Benson: 54, Roderick Remus: 53) </div> Shawn Doakes: “A big victory for Benny Benson as he gains momentum heading into his Television Championship shot!” Jasmine Saunders: “Greg has left the booth and...it sounds like Benny is yelling ‘next week!’” Kyle Rhodes: “It’s settled, next week Benny Benson uses his Television Championship opportunity when he takes on the reigning champion Greg Gauge. Moving on, Dr. Love takes on Jeremie Courtney.” <div style="padding: 15px; border: 6px solid #0F6D13; margin:10px;background: #F1F1F1; max-width:75%;box-shadow: 0 3px 12px " ;"=""> Jeremie Courtney vs 'Dr. Love' Danny Fonzarelli Playing It Up: After the initial lock up, Danny plants Jeremie with a massive bodyslam. He then takes the opportunity to play up to the fans with his signature taunt. Bribery: Jeremie sneaks out the ring and reaches into his bag that he always brings to ringside. He brings out a large amount of cash and attempts to give it to Danny, yelling at him to “lie down.” Danny slaps the money out his hand and sends him flying with a right hand! Trust Fund Gone: Jeremie is dazed from this right hook and ends up walking into a Retro Rocket (Falling Side Slam) for the three count. Danny celebrates and spreads some of the money off the floor with the fans. In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Danny Fonzarelli defeated Jeremie Courtney in 8:29 by pinfall with a Retro Rocket. Winner: Danny Fonzarelli Match Rating: 56 (In-Ring Performances: Danny Fonzarelli: 53, Jeremie Courtney: 43) Notes: Jeremie Courtney was really off his game. </div> Shawn Doakes: “Dr. Love takes home a good victory tonight! Danny had a tough 2019 taking losses to the Sinner Society and main rival Freddy Huggins, but now he aims to build momentum.” Jasmine Saunders: “He looked almost as good as ever out there Shawn, maybe Danny is looking at one last run?” Kyle Rhodes: “Danny Fonzarelli isn’t finished yet, I have a feeling he’ll be holding Championship Gold in 2020” <div style="padding: 15px; border: 6px solid #0F6D13; margin:10px;background: #F1F1F1; max-width:75%;box-shadow: 0 3px 12px " ;"=""> Sammy Hypes Malice in Wonderland [suddenly, the music of Sammy Bach sends the fans into raptures. He comes out as energetic as ever, hyping the fans up to new levels of volume. He gets in the ring and grabs a microphone] Sammy Bach: “What’s UP SAN ANTONIO!!! [big pop] Now I wasn’t scheduled to come out here...but I just had to talk about Malice in Wonderland!” [The crowd pop big for this, knowing Sammy is talking about his rubber match with Jay at the second biggest event of the year] “Me and Jay will finish things and I...personally can...not...wait! The winner is destined to fight for the World Heavyweight Championship this year and...it’s gonna be me, because over my...dead....body...will Jay Chord win that Championship before me! Now I know Jay is in action next...so I’m going to take my leave...but mark...my..words...Jay will not make it past ME...at Malice in Wonderland” Segment Rating: 91 </div> <div style="padding: 15px; border: 6px solid #0F6D13; margin:10px;background: #F1F1F1; max-width:75%;box-shadow: 0 3px 12px " ;"=""> 'Wrestling's Saviour' Jay Chord vs 'Wrestling Machine' Human Arsenal Stalemate: Both men weigh almost the exact same AND are both incredible technicians, so when they lock up...nobody can find an advantage! Brawler: The advantage is found when the much more accomplished striker in Jay Chord starts to piece Arsenal up with rights and lefts, only for the ‘Wrestling Machine’ to duck and explode with a massive german suplex! Ammo Dump?: Human Arsenal attempts to set up his Ammo Dump (Sit-Out Double Underhook Facebuster) but Jay escapes easily and drops Arsenal with a massive headbutt! Jay drops into the cover and gets a two count. Here We Go: The two men both end up on the top rope trading blows. Human Arsenal seems set to deliver a superplex, but Jay rocks him with multiple strikes and uses this to plant the man with a massive sunset flip powerbomb! The resilient Human Arsenal is again able to kick out at two! Too Good: Before the powerbomb both men kept finding ways to stay competitive, but afterwards it was all Jay Chord. Jay plants Arsenal with his signature Super DDT for a very, very close pinfall. He immediately grabs his opponent and drags him in position for his Cradle Piledriver. He connects with his finisher and the three count is academic. In a bout that had great heat and good wrestling, Jay Chord defeated Human Arsenal in 14:40 by pinfall with a Cradle Piledriver. Winner: Jay Chord Match Rating: 80 (In-Ring Performances: Jay Chord: 77, Human Arsenal: 63) </div> Shawn Doakes: “What a great match on show right there between two of the best technicians TCW have to offer!” Jasmine Saunders: “Jay Chord is white hot right now! I’d be incredibly worried if I was Sammy Bach watching from backstage!” Kyle Rhodes: “This is the best I’ve ever seen Jay, and even with our differences I have to agree Jasmine, Jay looks invincible an--” Shawn Doakes: “Sorry to interrupt Kyle, we’ve got to go backstage because I hear we have a fight on our hands!” <div style="padding: 15px; border: 6px solid #0F6D13; margin:10px;background: #F1F1F1; max-width:75%;box-shadow: 0 3px 12px " ;"=""> Heavyweight Fight! We cut to a camera backstage where we see some of the biggest heavyweights going at it! To no surprise it is a brawl between Mighty Meaty and Sinner Society! Mo launches Nick Booth into a nearby vending machine but turns around into Killer Shark who picks the big man up and drops him on the hard floor with his Big Bite! (Powerslam) Tana is holding Titan at bay, but Eddie Peak appears out of nowhere with a steel chair! The impact causes Tana to drop to the floor in pain, and Eddie follows up with one more shot just for good measure as Sinner Society stand tall amongst the chaos Segment Rating: 71 </div> <div style="padding: 15px; border: 6px solid #0F6D13; margin:10px;background: #F1F1F1; max-width:75%;box-shadow: 0 3px 12px " ;"=""> Maverick vs 'The Big Dog' T-Bone Bright Close!: The match starts and Bright immediately goes for his match-ending T-Bone Lariat! Maverick just evades and rolls under the ropes for safety, but T-Bone rolls out too not wanting to wait! Wrestling: Maverick runs from T-Bone some more and manages to grab his opponent by the neck after he slid into the ring. Maverick uses this offensive wrestling position to take control. Comeback: T-Bone isn’t down for long though, as he explodes out of a wrestling position with a massive back body drop! Multiple shoulder tackles later and Maverick seems ready to quit. Boom, Slammed: T-Bone sets up his massive Lariat once more, but Maverick again evades and runs the ropes going for his own lariat! T-Bone however scoops him up and drops him with a Powerslam! Bright goes for the pin and Maverick is down and out. In a decent match, T-Bone Bright defeated Maverick in 10:12 by pinfall with a Powerslam. Winner: T-Bone Bright Match Rating: 66 (In-Ring Performances: T-Bone Bright: 63, Maverick: 54) </div> Shawn Doakes: “What a win for ‘The Big Dog’! He looked really impressive tonight Jasmine” Jasmine Saunders: “Yes he did Shawn, in fact he’s looked very impressive in his entire TCW tenure, only being directly pinned or submitted by two men. Troy Tornado and the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, Doc Hammond!” Kyle Rhodes: “This kid has the potential to go straight to the top, let’s see if he can keep his head down and keep working. It’s time for our main event of the evening as our World Heavyweight Champion Aaron Andrews will take on Eddie Chandler in a non-title contest” <div style="padding: 15px; border: 6px solid #0F6D13; margin:10px;background: #F1F1F1; max-width:75%;box-shadow: 0 3px 12px " ;"=""> Aaron 'Ace' Andrews vs 'Fabulous' Eddie Chandler Still The Ace: Despite what seemed like a confidence crisis earlier in the night, in the ring Aaron is still his usual cocky self. He takes Eddie down and outworks him before taking him out with a dropkick when he gets to his feet. Chris Flynn: The Enforcer of The Syndicate gets on the apron luring Aaron into an attack. Aaron goes for him but Chris drops down holding his hands up signalling to the referee he had no intentions of doing anything. This distraction lets Eddie blast Aaron with a massive Chandler Back Cracker (Back-Stabber) for a quick two count. The Arm: Eddie starts his usual in-ring shtick of targeting the arms for his devastating Fabulous Stretch submission. Face-First, Nevermind: Eddie picks Aaron up for his Elitist Plex (Face First, 10 Second Suplex) and holds the World Champ for ten seconds successfully. The only problem is after the ten seconds Aaron manages to land on his feet and blast Eddie with a massive superkick! Both men are down! Signature, One Way or Another: Aaron is setting up for his signature Flying Body Press (top rope crossbody) but is distracted again, this time by Nate Johnson! Eddie charges to the ropes but Aaron jumps over him! Eddie charges again but into a different signature, a Standing Hot Shot! (Flapjack into ropes) Aces Up: Despite a gripping and competitive match, it seems Aaron is just too good for Eddie. Eddie is eventually put down with an Ace Driver (Edgecution) for the three count. In a bout that had great heat and good wrestling, Aaron Andrews defeated Eddie Chandler in 17:54 by pinfall with an Ace Driver. Winner: Aaron Andrews Match Rating: 79 (In-Ring Performances: Aaron Andrews: 80, Eddie Chandler: 56) </div> <div style="padding: 15px; border: 6px solid #0F6D13; margin:10px;background: #F1F1F1; max-width:75%;box-shadow: 0 3px 12px " ;"=""> Another Chaotic End! Aaron picks up a big victory but immediately realises the wolves are closing in. Wolf and Doc, who weren’t at ringside for the match, are marching down to the ring whilst Nate and Chris get on the apron. Aaron chooses to drop Flynn with a massive dropkick and then tackles Nate who made it into the ring. Doc and Wolf have entered now though and make the difference. Doc holds Aaron from behind, letting Wolf tee off with rights and lefts. The music of ‘Mighty Fine’ Darryl Devine plays and he gets the biggest pop he has gotten in a while! He is noticeably without his tag team partner and best friend, Chance Fortune, however. A recovering Eddie Chandler tries to stop him but eats a massive clothesline! Darryl ducks a Chris Flynn punch and slides into the ring to go after The Syndicate! Unfortunately for him, the numbers are still with The Syndicate as Nate Johnson and Chris Flynn work on him in the corner… The music of One Man Army hits and the fans erupt! He hasn’t had any problems with The Syndicate in a while, and usually doesn’t help others even if they are ‘good guys’, but he is coming out tonight! Eddie Chandler has only just stood up again when he eats a massive right hand from OMA. Nate Johnson exits the ring and goes for OMA, but eats a back body drop! Aaron uses this commotion to escape from Doc’s grasp, laying Wolf out with a massive jumping roundhouse to the skull! OMA has entered the ring and stares down his former best friend and tag partner Doc Hammond! The two start trading punches like they’re Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens! OMA gets the upper hand and sends Doc out the ring! Chris Flynn has had enough and goes for One Man Army, but eats a dropkick to the back from Devine and an uppercut from OMA! Chris hits the mat and rolls under the ropes. Another chaotic ending to Total Wrestling, but this time the babyfaces stand tall. Aaron and Devine show respect to each other, but OMA doesn’t even look at them. Aaron holds his Championship high, and then One Man Army looks at him, or more accurately, his Championship! 8. Thank you! <div style="padding: 15px; border: 6px solid #0F6D13; margin:10px;background: #F1F1F1; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 3px 12px " ;"=""> <div style="padding: 15px; border: 6px solid #0F6D13; margin:10px;background: #F1F1F1; max-width:75%;box-shadow: 0 3px 12px " ;"=""> A good first show I believe, no popularity gains but for my first time booking TCW in a long time so I’m just happy I didn’t lose any. Sammy’s great performance really stood out to the fans, even with his age he always works hard and helped make Yuri look good. Sammy and Jay were also both great going off-script, and are part of the few select trustees that I will allow to go off-script. One Man Army seemed really off his game against Maverick, but it’s a bit unfair to hold that against him considering he wrestled most of the match with an injury. He should be fine for the next TCW show. Freddy and Laura have great chemistry, as all the fans know. I don’t see myself ever splitting these two up. There was no Chance Fortune heel turn just to clarify, but it is a possibility for the future and despite him clearly being a level (or two, or three) below ‘The Ace’, I feel there is a story to be told between the two and look forward to writing it. And hey, if Chance performs in the ring then maybe our Marty Jannetty could beat our very own Shawn Michaels...

They have dominated the American wrestling scene all year and seem to be firing on all cylinders creatively at the moment, with much credit due to head booker Rich Money. At 44 years old, Rich Money has just had one of the best years of his career, and therefore has more than earned his award as Veteran Wrestler Of The Year. The current USPW World champion, whose third reign with the title has been ongoing since the summer, put in some spectacular work over the past twelve months. To cap the best year of her career, the red hot USPW Womens champion Jaime Quine has taken the Female Wrestler Of The Year award. One of USPW's MVPs from the past year, Quine's work both as a character and an in-ring performer were fantastic throughout 2019. USPW have shown no signs of letting up as the number one company in America, putting on an incredible show 2 nights ago at Made in America! The main event of Nicky Champion vs Steve Frehley was a brutal affair as always, with fan favourite Nicky Champion going over to send the fans home happy. It doesn’t seem like any other company can even come close... The SWF continue to struggle, not taking home any awards for their year’s work. Jerry and Eric Eisen have done an okay job of steadying the ship, but when it comes to actually taking the ship forwards it seems they can’t find a way to take the next step. Their top star Rocky Golden continues to be the best part of any show they put forward, as seen from the Christmas Clash Pay-Per-View when the best (and only watchable) part of the show was Rocky defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Remo. After the match, Scythe appeared and made his intentions clear by chokeslamming Rocky and holding the World Heavyweight Championship high! TCW Psycho Circus went down last night and saw Aaron Andrews successfully defend his world title over Joshua Taylor in a solid match. More importantly, the build towards the Total Mayhem XXIV main event began in earnest after the bout when Wolf Hawkins came out and engaged in a stare down with the champ. Overall it was a good show and continued TCW's recent hot streak. Despite this hot streak, it will take a lot for TCW to recover from the ground they have lost on their rivals over the years. Even now after a good end to the year, fans are starting to get restless over the constant Aaron Andrews vs Wolf Hawkins match-ups, as we seem set to see the two clash in the main event of Total Mayhem for the second year in a row. This is after the two fought for almost the entirety of the past year! TCW are going to have to use talents like Jay Chord, Mighty Mo, Greg Gauge and T-Bone Bright in order to gain ground on their rivals.
