1. I'm biased, but even I'd say that a majority are just fans of small market teams who wouldn't be able to do what they do/did. Which I totally understand, but teams are so often cheapskates over choosing to completely go for it and risk more money short term. Speaking of the Giants though, they're really weird to watch in person. Like, they don't seem all that special. Then again, the last time I went to see them was the year Posey was out.
 2. I actually look forward to cheering against them when they're good, it's bad for the league for them to not do well.
 3. So I'm not sure if you guys saw the Grantland interview Michelle Beadle did with Heyman and Reigns, but I think it definitely plays up the Heyman turning on Lesnar "theory".
 4.

So Eddie Alvarez and Bellator came to an agreement. Eddie will rematch Chandler (Michael, not Bing) on the undercard of the Ortiz-Rampage PPV.

The deal means that Eddie won't have to sit out potentially another year or two, wasting his prime and killing his value. On the downside, it's now highly unlikely that we'll ever see him in the UFC.

It also doesn't bode well for seeing any Bellator champions make the jump to the UFC when their contracts come up. The UFC would have to make obscenely over valued offers that Bellator would be unwilling or unable to match.

Bellator have invoked their 'title fight rematch clause' to make the Alvarez/Chandler rematch happen. Essentially it means they can bypass their 'rule' of a fighter having to win a tourney to get a title shot. They also came up with a ridiculously convoluted point system yesterday for keeping champions active if a tourney winner can't fight due to injury.

Both the points system and the PPV were put together for Bellator to cover themselves in this and future legal cases.

This is great news to me, Eddie is a fantastically exciting fighter. Also, I appreciate the Friends reference. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

 5. Exactly, Rory respected Jake's strength and found something that worked from start to finish. I enjoyed watching the fight, so I don't blame anyone. On another note, does anyone here see Korean Zombie beating Aldo? I'm excited to see the fight, but I just don't see him winning in any likely scenario.

Its not if, but when with them. RGIII is coming back from a big surgery. How is his game going to change? Will he be gun shy? Will he not be gun shy? Will the leg hold up?

I understand we witnessed something historic with AD last year and his return after a similar surgery but that is not the norm and I don't see it being the norm. I think its foolish to predict anyone coming into their second year in the league and coming off of a major surgery like that at such an important position in such a tough division will be the MVP. I'm not saying its impossible but the odds are not even close to in his favor.

The skins are going to be doing good to win their division let alone get to the Super Bowl. I think they are a team much like the Vikings that may have peaked a bit early.

They have talent but a lot of it is young and the Shannahan's have been more of an example of how not to run a team than how to run it since getting to Washington so we'll see.

Exactly, there's a reason Michael Vick hasn't started a full season...ever? Now, RGIII is a way better passer then Vick is even now, but if he doesn't learn when to give up and get down or out of bounds he won't make it long term.

I completely agree, I saw that he said he'll break Emitt Smith's record by the end of 2017... I don't know if he was joking or is just insane. Even if he holds up that long, his style and teammates don't do him enough favors to get that done unless he becomes/is a cyborg.

The NFC East is always a crap-shoot, because Eli Manning plays like he's in high-school all the time. If he wasn't so crazy with the ball they'd dominate the division barring major injuries.

 7.
I can't even put into words as a longtime Patriots fan how disappointed I am in Aaron Hernandez. It's so unreal to me, and I honestly can't even find words to describe how disgusting what he allegedly did was. On a related note, can we all agree that the Pouncey brothers are two of the dumbest people alive?

As someone that's rooted for Hernandez during his NFL career and thought he had enormous potential, I can't even fathom what these two were thinking. Forgetting that neither of them saw a problem with this somehow, how does NOBODY at a packed club, at a celebration of their lives mention "hey bro, that guy almost certainly either took or orchestrated the taking of what you and your brother are celebrating today"? What, because they were teammates it's ok to put that on a hat? I've been involved in sports since I was 5 years old and would NEVER do anything like this in my life. Completely disgusting, this has me really soured on Football right now.

 8.

I was watching the Red Sox/Yankees game yesterday and the Red Sox fans gave Mariano Rivera a standing ovation and now everywhere I go I either read or hear people saying that the Red Sox fans are class acts. Are you serious?

Maybe it is because I am a Yankees fan who lives in a state that is predominantly filled with Red Sox fans, but Red Sox fans are just horrible. Just because they cheered the greatest closer in the history of baseball does not mean they are classy for doing it.

After all these are the same fans that made Bill Buckner’s life a living hell for almost twenty years. Then when they finally won a World Series he was “forgiven” by them. Hell they even booed the best player in the history of their franchise. They even did their “Yankees Suck” chant during one of the Patriots’ Super Bowl parades.

I once went into a restaurant with some friends and I was wearing my Yankees hat. I overheard the waitress talking to the hostess and she said, “Are you serious? You are really going to seat a Yankees fan in my section? You know I don’t like Yankees fans.”

Now I thought this woman was just playfully joking around. Well she was not, she screwed my order up while getting my friend’s orders right, she came over to the table and asked my friend if he wanted a refill and yet ignored me totally. At the end of the meal I gave her a penny for a tip (I normally tip 20% no matter what.). After I left the restaurant I thought about how that tip would not even teach this psychotic broad anything and it would only reinforce her views on Yankees fans but she was a piece of crap so I did not really care.

I mean how ridiculous is it, for a person who makes a living off of tips to treat a customer poorly just because of the hat that they are wearing?

I do not recall who it was on here and I am too lazy to look it up, but I remember in the Boston Marathon thread someone made a stupid comment about how much better Bostonians are than New Yorkers and then the poster put Yankees suck. At the time I remember thinking how moronic that post was because it had absolutely nothing to do with the tragedy and how it was very symbolic of the typical Red Sox fan.

Now I am not say all Red Sox fans are jerks (Or that all Yankees fans are not jerks) because that is simply not true. Every team has their jerk fans, Philly fans I’m looking directly at you (I mean come on who boos Santa Claus?), but it seems to me (Maybe due to my geographical location) that the Red Sox have a ton of vocal fans who are for lack of a better term jerks.

Yes I realized I told the waitress story already in this thread but I felt it had to be told again just to point out how asinine some Red Sox fans are.

As a Boston fan, I think it's definitely where you live and the fact that it must be a huge part of the people that live there. I don't have the same perspective as those people since I've only been a fan of Boston teams since I was 13 and have lived all over the place, so I don't have that instinctual " I have to hate New York" attitude. I will say that when I lived in New Jersey and during my several trips to New York during those years I got treated very similarly by born and bred Yankees fans when sports came up and or I had my Boston memorabilia on. It's something that would be awesome if it was contained to the games, but so many people feel compelled to shove their favorite teams in people's faces like they've somehow helped them achieve anything.

All that said, I do think it's just kind of a thing for long term successful market fans to get an elitist attitude, and the fact that their rivals have been so good for awhile now has just made things worse. Teams with big fan populations will have plenty of jerks, as there's just plenty of jerks in the world. Personally, I like and therefore pull mainly for the Red Sox. I've never treated a Yankee fan differently than any other sports fan. Are the games the Red Sox and Yankees play more meaningful and therefore stressful for me? Absolutely, but I still respect their players and want their best shot and hope the Sox can still be better. I think we should all just enjoy talking baseball and enjoying great games between two great teams.

Well there and the University of Michigan for a little while. Since he's kayfabe so much better now, I couldn't help thinking that must be why. Or Denard Robinson taught him stuff (sorry, only recent Michigan athlete I can think of haha)

 10.
I agree with you guys, I'm really interested to see how this goes. Personally I'd love to see Sabin and AJ go at it, especially if Hogan's gonna face Bully at BFG.

Also, Chris Sabin's basement is the new Dungeon apparently <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

 11.
I pretty much agree with everything Showtime has said regarding MITB.

Like Orton or hate him, only Bryan, Babyface Punk and Ziggler can match the pop he gets. It's smart to take advantage of that. Just don't count on a heel turn that's been teased for months and may never happen.

The booking of Henry with his fake retirement, the hype surrounding Henry's title chance and the scripting of the match were all perfect. Then they ruined it by not following through. They won't get another chance like this again with Henry. And Cena wouldn't even have looked weak losing to Henry clean. We can only pray that Henry is the cause of Cena losing his title when it happens so some good comes from this (other than the few epic Henry promos we were treated to).

Anyone else think Rhodes was the MVP of the show? I wanted Cesaro or Barrett to win the match (or Sandow but thought he had no chance) but found myself marking for Cody to win.

Like I said in my prediction, I've been a huge fan of Cody's for awhile and even though he lost at the end I'd be absolutely shocked if this match didn't lead to huge things for him. I popped hard when he cleared everyone out and made the Cross Rhodes look devastating instead of kind of awkward like it has looked before. Also, I think it's important to note he got a legit chant a couple of times instead of people just chanting for his mustache.

 12. I'll be honest, the pre-show and WHC MITB match were both so good that the rest of the card did seem a little weak. The IC match was alright, Diva's match was pretty good, and hopefully Ziggler benefits long term from what happened/will happen with AJ. Ryback won in a way that made him look weaker than if Jericho had won and Ryback destroyed him after. That baffles me that they can't book him right AT ALL. The crowd kinda took me out of the WWE Title match, they didn't want to really cheer either guy it seemed. The end result to the All Stars MITB is what I wanted, but are we really getting Bryan/Axel instead of Bryan/Cena? I hope not. All in all, the rest of the card didn't live up to the first two matches imo, and that really hurt my enjoyment of the event.

Terrible picking criteria, but I think it's pretty wide open honestly.

As noted before, I believe Bryan will win the "All Stars" WWE briefcase, but I want Randy to. Remember when that massive underdog knocked out Anderson Silva that time? Actually, haven't two of the very few guys to really put it on Jones been middleweights?

"He lost to him, so he'd lose to him" - MMA Math - It doesn't work mate, you've got to take each fight on it's merits. Anderson's trouble with Chael and Weidman doesn't mean he struggles against Jones.

I agree with everything you said, but I still believe they're factors. Machida was unstoppable when nobody thought he could be figured out, just like Anderson and just like Jones now. If you take a guys best shot and you're the "unstoppable force" and it doesn't look like it fazes you, tell me that doesn't make most guys lose confidence and freak out. Like I said, I hope it happens. I just don't see Silva going up to fight Jones, particularly before he'd agree to fight GSP. They'd be similar money-wise, and there's just more big fights GSP has been in where you can see where he's vulnerable IMO.

Again, I get your point, and I'm not saying if they fought Jones would beat him 10 out of 10 times. In fact, hell I'd have it 5 out of 10 or 6 out of 10 at best and I think Jones is the best fighter in the world. All I meant was, he's Anderson freaking Silva. He could fight a scrub and get 200,000 PPV buys, so if he's lacking confidence or drive or whatever why not take a "safer" fight?

 18. Anderson's great and everything, but I'd be highly surprised if ANYONE moved up to fight Bones. The guy has the biggest unbeatable "aura" in MMA right now, and if Anderson had trouble with Chael and Weidman I don't see how he'd want to fight a bigger, longer, stronger more well rounded fighter than them. It'd be the most intriguing fight for Jones so far,so I do hope it happens...just don't see it happening is all.
 19. Yeah, I hope everything stays fine between them. He's said so many times that having his daughter really changed him, so I hope for his own well being, as well as selfishly as a big fan of his this doesn't cause a downward spiral in his life.
 20.

Anyone get the feeling Bryan won't win MITB? It seems too obvious. I actually think he'd benefit more from having to chase the title and win it clean. And who will take Kane's place, assuming he doesn't "recover" in time?

On the chanting issue: I agree with SM82 that a good wrestler will make a gimmick work regardless. Look how long Cena put up with his mixed reaction before he started working it into his promos. Ryback has also done well enough in spite of the Goldberg chants. And as a heel Henry has managed to use the audience reactions to his advantage recently. I kind of feel the Albert chants hindered Tensai, though. So I'm actually more concerned about what the marks think about the chants and how annoying it is for me to hear them every show.

They should have dropped the lighting after his first push. It was cool at first but now it just obscures the action.

I still think he's the favorite, but personally I think Orton would be the most interesting holder of the briefcase and would benefit more long term than Bryan. Bryan can claim number one contendership at the WWE Title just from his match results recently, he doesn't need MITB to be a credible challenger. Then again, the obvious choice usually is for the best.

The chanting will only be an issue if it continues for months and or makes Bray screw up a promo or something. The gimmick is money and if they can make a lasting impression everything will be fine.

I agree, I wonder if they just do it so he can see better or maybe someone really thinks it makes him unique and cool.

 21.
I really hope AJ wins the BFG Series as it feels like it's what his whole past year of booking has led to. I thought he did a great job delivering his promo, I know a lot of people don't think he's great on the stick but I've always thought he's done a good job with what he's given. That being said, I already have my doubts after Slammiversary and then having him draw with Joe, who hasn't been in title contention in what seems like forever.

Other than that, the matches were really good as usual for the most part, everything seemed to progress nicely this week. I guess Angle will be chasing the Championship for now? For some reason I have a sneaking suspicion it'll end up being Angle with the gold come BFG, where he'll lose to AJ. That really sucks for Bully Ray and I kind of hope I'm wrong, but at the end of the day his match with Hogan will probably mean more to casual fans and still probably be last on the card.

 22. Yeah, I know. I posted that a few hours before Payback...was it announced before that? <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/confused.png.d4a8e6b6eab0c67698b911fb041c0ed1.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
 23.
@milamber That's an interesting thought, but that storyline, nor AJ at least for now isn't popular enough for Lita or Trish... it wouldn't even be close who people would want to win. If they wanted to use Lita in a realistic way they could have her beat the crap out of Heyman and maybe bring Sable back for... something. Highly doubt she'd be up for that though.

Survivor Series would be a good time to do that, but in this day and age it'll likely be by SummerSlam.

@shawn michaels 82 I really want of RPGs what I want out of good wrestling, well paced and engaging storylines. It doesn't happen all the time with either, but when it does that helps me appreciate it more I suppose.

@lazorbeak and Tha Black Phenom I think for the context of this storyline HHH actually needs to be a face. Given all the stuff he's done as a heel in the past, if he were one now he'd probably just bash Vince's skull in with a sledgehammer and call it a day. Where's the build or intrigue in that?

 24. @shawn michaels 82 I didn't even understand what he was trying to say, all I got out of reading that incoherent rant was keyfabe, which sounded enough like Keyblade to remind me that there's a new Kingdom Hearts game coming out. Now I'm going to have nightmares of John Cena with a Keyblade chasing Mark Henry through Disney worlds...with cameos of Cloud and Sephiroth.
