  1. I'm curious how mod makers handle it when two workers use identical names, i.e. Asuka (Kana) in WWE and ASUKA (VENY) in Japan/Indies, or the Japanese AKIRA and the American AKIRA. What is the consensus on the best way to handle that?
  2. I noticed since the new update (1.40 II) that Workers and Tag Teams in a Hall of Fame get guaranteed spots just by having 1 Major Champion and 1 Epic Champion. To me, that seems like a pretty low bar, was that changed on purpose or is that a mistake?
  3. Genetic Freak: The wear and tear this worker experiences to their physical health is lower than normal, and the performance penalties related to physical health are slightly reduced. Complacent: This worker will never complain about being left off shows. Ambitious: This worker is far more likely to complain if left off shows. Originally From ____: This worker has a strong connection to their homeland and is highly likely to return there if they have no contracts or prospects in their current area. -- Would need 8 different versions of this attribute for each area, i.e. Originally From Japan, Originally From Mexico, Originally From America, etc. Settling Down: This worker will stop freelancing after retirement, content to settle into more permanent non-wrestling roles.
  4. Not sure what to call this one, but an attribute that prevents a worker from dating within the business (i.e. another worker in the database) but still allows relationship changes "outside the business" Also, I think the Natural Trainer should also greatly improve that workers chances of taking over as the owner of an existing school if a spot opens up (unless it does that already, in which case, ignore this).
  5. Countryman: This worker will move house to another region of the area they currently reside in, but will not move outside of the area. (for example, someone will move house around the USA, but will never move out of the USA)
  6. If you have an Annual Competition / Achievement title (such as a Tournament or Battle Royal), but don't attach to be held at a certain event, when will the AI hold the event? will it just be randomly held during the year sometime?
  7. Just reading through the Developer's Journal again for about the 50th time, while sitting in front of my computer like while somehow waiting both patiently and also impatiently at the same time
  8. Bumping should actually fall mostly under the Basics skill, because taking bumps is one of the bases of wrestling. When you start training, the first things they teach you are the basic fundamentals, and that always starts with bumping. Selling is more the ability to make a move or submission and the pain from it look believable and realistic, by using facial expressions, vocal sounds (like groans of pain), and the way you use your body (holding an arm at your side or limping). Bumping can factor into selling, but only a little bit, and really comes from being able to add that extra flair to your bumps, like Hennig or RVD.
  9. You will be able to do this in TEW2020. I copied and pasted this directly from the Developer's Journal. (Entry #31) Previous entries have already covered how ratings / viewership will be very important in TEW2020, and one of the new features that gels with that is the ability for companies to 'block tape' TV shows. A company can now tape up to four episodes at once. The advantage of this is that it slashes the cost of producing the show (because everything is already in place so there's no need to transport of set-up multiple times), but the disadvantage is that the further ahead a show is taped, the more its ratings are going to get reduced, therefore the company will potentially be losing out on valuable broadcast revenue.
  10. This is more of a suggestion about two already announced Attributes. In the two below, I would think the workers should not want to sign with companies that present a 'comedy' based product, as opposed to entertainment based. A lot of old school guys seem fine with sports entertainment, but they just hate most 'comedy' in wrestling. Keeps Kayfabe: The worker is outspoken about disliking 'cartoon' wrestling and will not want to sign deals with companies that present an entertainment product. Extremely Old School: The worker is a purist and will not want to sign deals with companies that present entertainment or hardcore based products.
  11. Strictly A Personality - Will only ever be pushed as a 'Personality' when that is their only active role. (To prevent certain people like JoJo, Charly Caruso, etc from being used as Authority Figures if they are added into the game)
  12. <p><strong>Extreme Lucha Libre</strong> - A grittier and more extreme style than the Classic Lucha Libre, it still has the colourful characters, but combines quality, athletic matches alongside hardcore brawling matches, and is overall far less family friendly.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Crazy Comedy Puro</strong> - A mixture of puroresu, hardcore, and comedy wrestling alongside a heavy dose of humor and wrestling parody. While quality, athletic matches are appreciated, the fun and wild comedy matches are the most notable.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Traditional Puroresu</strong> - The classic style of Japanese wrestling where match quality is crucial and the wrestling is treated as a legitimate sport. While showmanship and character work are appreciated, it is not required or necessary.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Family Friendly Indie</strong> - Taking the indie style of having fast paced, moves-heavy, high quality matches, but presented in a family friendly way that will appeal to a younger audience. Colorful characters and easy-to-follow angles are as important as the in-ring action.</p>
  13. Another one semi-inspired by the recent CM Punk "return" Never Say Never: If this worker is out of the business, there is a chance they will return at some random point. Still Has the Itch: If this worker is retired from active competition, there is a chance they will return to in-ring action at some random point.
  14. Out of Touch Booker: After reaching their relevancy age, their booking skills will slowly start to decline.
  15. This would be awesome, but I don't expect we will get out hands on even a demo of the game until at least a month before it's release. Waiting for release is tough, because the more information that kept coming out about TEW2020 has pretty much made TEW2016 less and less playable for me. I'd be overjoyed to even just get the editor for 2020 at this point.
  16. <p><strong>Indy Darling</strong>: This worker is dedicated to independent wrestling and will refuse all written deals, and will favor companies that are Medium size or smaller, except those offering Touring deals.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Big Timer</strong>: A big name worker who favors companies that are Big size or larger, will only work short term for companies that are Medium, and will refuse to work for companies that are Small size or smaller.</p>
  17. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="franticloser" data-cite="franticloser" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46105" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Adam has said many times that they shouldn't be in the game, as their role isn't something that is used in game. So it is a modern issue not a game issue.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I do wish there was a role in the game for Interviewers, because they actually have a role that is used in game with interview angles, and it would be better to put them into a specified role rather than as a Personality, where then the AI might push them as an Authority Figure or something.</p>
  18. <p><strong>Aging Warrior</strong>: A veteran worker, who despite their physical abilities being in decline, will continue to work a full-time schedule. Booking them in shorter and/or multi-man matches will dampen the negative impact their declining abilities have on the match rating.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Always Relevant</strong>: This worker will always remain relevant in the wrestling industry regardless of their age.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Manager Turned Wrestler</strong>: A worker set as a non-wrestling manager who will eventually decide to step into the ring and start training to wrestle.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Wrestling Agent</strong>: Can work as both an active in-ring competitor and a road agent for the same company.</p><p> (Not sure if this last one is possible, but would be for guys like Cody who is both a wrestler and a producer for AEW.)</p>
  19. I always had big issues with momentum because I liked to bring in a couple workers for just a few appearances to fill out tournaments or just work a few shows (as the indies are known to do), but once the contracts were fulfilled and expired, my company momentum tanked because I had "lost" those workers, despite having put on great shows. It didn't seem to have to do with regional battles either, because the momentum dropped the same day the workers contracts expired.
  20. <p><strong>Career Resurgence</strong>: A veteran worker who passed their relevancy age, but is experiencing new life late in their career. The relevant traits stop declining for a short period, then decline significantly slower than normal for a few years after.</p><p> (This one is inspired by the recent career resurgence of PCO)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Amicable Towards Ex</strong>: Will not effect morale having to work with anyone they have split up with or divorced. Will also not complain if they are signed. Lowers chances of them having any backstage issues with that person.</p>
  21. <p><strong>Ageless Wonder</strong>: After reaching their decline age, their skills will erode at a significantly slower rate than normal.</p><p> (For guys like Christopher Daniels, Minoru Suzuki, Dustin Rhodes, Yuji Nagata, etc where their age didn't or hadn't seem to cause them any major decline).</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Young Prodigy</strong>: A young worker whose skills will increase significantly faster than normal for the first few years of their career.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Natural Born Leader</strong>: Lowers the threshold of when they are considered a locker room leader, allowing them to become one at lower experience and/or respect levels than normal. Dependent on having a positive personality.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Promiscuous</strong>: Tends to get into and out of relationships very quickly and very often, usually with other workers in the business.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Back To Business</strong>: Gives a worker who left the business a chance to return.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Dedicated Teacher</strong>: As long as the worker is the head trainer or owner of a training facility, they will not leave the business, no matter how old they get. They may no longer take any active roles however, but will always remain with their training facility.</p><p> (For guys like Harley Race who continued to operate his school and train wrestlers into his 70s until his passing).</p>
  22. A little something for workers like Joey Ryan. Intergender Match Specialist: Always willing to work matches against the opposite gender and lose to them if appropriate. Provide some sort of boost to the match rating if it is intergender. Then the opposite for guys like Eli Drake. Against Intergender Matches: Will never work an Intergender match, ever.
  23. I used Cagematch.net to do the research, it's the most comprehensive database I've been able to find out there, so I use it for almost all my wrestling research. Adam indicated that Epic Reigns would count towards each promotions Hall of Fames too, so lesser promotions will probably take them into account when qualifying for their HOF, while any Epic Reigns with major titles in larger promotions (i.e. in WWE, NJPW, etc) will count towards the Hall of Immortals. Just my guess anyway.
  24. 10 defenses is a very fair number for the Epic Reigns. I did some research (and excluded house show title defenses since those don't happen in TEW). For the WWE Championship, 20 out of 136 reigns would qualify. WWE World Heavyweight title, it was 2 out of 55. WCW World title, it is 3 out of 64. NWA World title (counting the TNA and WCW years), it is 45 out of 96, which is almost half. ECW World title, it is 11 out of 33. ROH World title has 14 out of 30 qualifying, so another where it's almost half. IWGP Heavyweight title is 3 out of 69. GHC Heavyweight title is 2 out of 32. AJPW Triple Crown is only 1 out of 62. AAA Mega title is 1 out of 17. So for most companies, it really is a rare feat to have an "Epic Reign" and then there are a few outliers where it is a bit more common.
  25. That feeling when you realize how far away the game's release still is.
