Huge fan of the new tag team of Scorpio and Koko

I've always been a huge fan of Scorpio myself, and with Koko as his partner, he should improve pretty quickly in the ring since Koko has much higher skills in brawling, psychology, basics, and selling. Microphone and Acting too.

Okerlund: Ric Flair, I would be remiss if I didn't ask, just what in the world did we witness at Survivor Series?

Flair: WELL, "MEAN" GENE, what you witnessed at Survivor Series, was the penultimate part of a plan nearly eight months in the making. I'm sure you've heard the expression, "keep your friends close, but your enemies closer"? Well, that's exactly the strategy I employed nearly eight months ago, when I recruited Rude and Vader to "join" The Kingdom. And when they told me how Savage still went ON AND ON, about Elizabeth when no one was around, I KNEW, exactly what I needed to do when I got to the WWF, to get my hands on Savage's World Wrestling Federation Championship!

Flair: All I had to do, was convince Liz that I was the good guy, and explain how she could get a little payback on Savage for their breakup, and it would be smooth sailing from there.

Flair: And of course, she fell for it! HOOK. LINE. And SINKER! WOOOOO!!

Okerlund: You're despicable, Ric Flair! Using the lovely Elizabeth as a pawn in your scheme, and then threatening her with bodily harm. HOW DO YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT??

Flair: Like a baby, Gene, haha! Of course, there's still the small technicality of locking Randy Savage in the Figure Four, and making him beg for mercy, to become the new World Wrestling Federation Champion! But then, WOOOOOOOO!!!!, I'LL ADD THE FINISHING TOUCH!

Okerlund: And what exactly would that be?

Flair: Sorry, Gene, but you'll have to wait and see just like everyone else! And, Savage, YOU CAN TAKE IT TO THE BANK, that you're gonna lose more than your title at Saturday Night's Main Event. Because when that final bell rings in the Cow Palace on December 28th, I'll not only have taken your title, I'll have CRUSHED.....YOUR.....SOUL! WOOOOO!!!

Back from a commercial break, and Commissioner Graham is already in the ring. He announces a rematch for the Intercontinental Championship for Saturday Night's Main Event: Fade to Black, as "The Minnesota Wrecking Machine" Scott Norton will defend against Sgt. Slaughter.

He seems like he's about to make another announcement, but he's interrupted by Bam Bam Bigelow.

Bigelow says Hulk Hogan may be done with The Dragon, but he's not and he wants a match with Dragon for Saturday Night's Main Event.

Graham informs Bigelow that due to circumstances beyond his control, The Dragon isn't available to wrestle right now. However, Graham says he'd be happy to sign a different match for Bigelow for Saturday Night's Main Event if he's interested. Bigelow begrudgingly accepts and Graham informs him he'll let him know his opponent once he lines something up.

In a pre-recorded interview, Sting, The British Bulldog, and Crush promise to avenge the Ultimate Warrior after the Army of Darkness locked him in a casket at Survivor Series, since Warrior himself may be out for months after the attack. Sting also addresses the threats Cactus Jack made toward him last week.

Sting: And, Cactus Jack, I'VE GOT A WARNING FOR YOU TOO! You may not have had a direct hand in the attack on the Warrior at Survivor Series, but I'm still holding YOU, PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE! Because if it weren't for you I would have still been there with the Warrior and maybe, just maybe, I could have prevented what happened. So, you better start looking over your shoulder, Cactus, because when you least expect it, BAM!!, there'll be the Stinger to make you wish you'd stayed down south! OOOOOOOWWW!!!

Before his main event bout with Koko B. Ware, Shawn Micheals gives an interview to Missy Hyatt backstage. He says Roddy Piper can say whatever he wants, but Micheals never leaves his friends behind. Although he had no choice but to drop that "pathetic loser" Marty Jannetty due to incompetence.

Michaels: But that's water under the bridge anyway since I've already smoothed things over with Brian. But you can say whatever you want about my morals, Piper. That's fine. What I won't stand for, especially from the likes of you, is being called a coward. Because the fact of the matter is, Roddy Piper, that it's you who's scared of The Heartbreak Kid. You're scared of my looks. You're scared of my charisma. You're scared of my talent. And most of all, you're scared that I've already surpassed you in every conceivable way. And you're right! - Sting is a little tricky to write promos for in the early to mid-90s. I watched dozens of his promos from this time period for research and there was just no consistency to them, either in style or quality. Sometimes he would speak at a regular pace and sometimes he would talk a mile-a-minute. Sometimes he would scream the entire time and sometimes he would speak calmly. And still, other times he would go back and forth between calm and yelling, a la Randy Savage. Then on top of all that, he didn't have a catchphrase in this time period either. And that's without even going into the quality, which, to put it nicely, varied wildly.

- Shawn Michaels and Koko B. Ware have great chemistry as opponents.

- Bret Hart and Tony Stetson have great chemistry as opponents.

- Jack Tunney became the head booker of the Texas Wrestling Federation.

- NJPW signed Tiny "Zeus" Lister to a 3 year exclusive written contract valued at $137,000 per month! Outrageous! And he has the "troublemaker" personality type. This could get interesting fast.

With one more successful defense Hayes gets either a $10,000 bonus with an opportunity for a $20,000 bonus if he can make it to 20 defenses. Or he can vacate the title and take a shot at either the Intercontinental or Tag Team titles.

Up to this point in the dynasty, I've always tried to put a little effort into coming up with something for episodes of Superstars angle-wise, but I've since decided it isn't worth that effort. Basically, I'll pretty much be using Superstars as a "C" show from now on, using it to build undercard worker momentum and for giving guys "generic" promo time to work on their Microphone or Entertainment skills. However, there could occasionally be something important on an episode if I run out of angle time on Wrestling Challenge, so please give it a quick read anyway to make sure you aren't missing anything. And of course, there could be something worthwhile in the "Backstage before the show", "Post-show notes", or "The Next Day" sections as well.

Dynasty Status Update:

Regular readers may have noticed that I didn't post week 2 of December tv yesterday as I usually would and that I haven't posted it today either. Well, there's a reason for that, but it's not because I'm stopping the dynasty or anything. I'm simply making a change to my posting schedule. Ever since I had to stop the dynasty for nearly 2 weeks when my wife and I caught Covid, I've been thinking about changing how often I post shows. When you post shows 5 days a week as I have been and something comes up that gets you off schedule for a few days, you get a lot further behind than you would if you were posting shows a little less often.

So, what I'll be doing from now on, is posting one week of TV every Tuesday, one week of TV every Friday, and a PPV every other Monday. This will still allow me to post two full months of shows every 30 days, which is about half of what I'm doing now. I still think that's a pretty good pace. Hopefully, you'll all agree. Thanks!

They then announce that with Savage giving in to Flair's plan, their World Wrestling Federation Championship match has now been officially signed for Saturday Night's Main Event: Fade To Black later this month. They end the segment by announcing tonight's main event, The Natural Disasters taking on The Rock n Roll Express.

Norton: That's right! I just used that moron Koloff to get my foot in the door here in the World Wrestling Federation. And I'll tell you something else. This Intercontinental Championship is just a stepping stone on my way to the big gold. The World Wrestling Federation Championship!

Okerlund: I believe Nikita Koloff and Sgt. Slaughter may have a thing or two in store for you first. And what about the Big Boss Man? You can be sure he hasn't forgotten what you did to him before Survivor Series when you broke his arm in that car door.

Norton: After what I did to Slaughter and Koloff, if Boss Man ever does come back, he'll know better than to even glance in my direction.

Okerlund: Only time will tell, I suppose, but I wouldn't count on Boss Man backing down from a fight. Back to you, Gorilla.

Paul Bearer and the Army of Darkness officially introduce Cactus Jack as their newest member and Bearer talks up the "resounding victory" they achieved at Survivor Series.

He calls Warrior's pinfall elimination of The Undertaker a fluke since it took three Warrior Splashes to keep Undertaker down and he still kicked out just after the three count.

Cactus Jack ends the segment though with some words for Sting.

Cactus Jack: It's me, Sting! IT'S CACTUS JACK! You haven't forgotten, have you? You haven't forgotten that Cactus Jack made you a promise when we were down south, have you, Sting? I promised that come hell or high water, I would put an end to the man called Sting. My miserable brain may be miserable but it hasn't forgotten. And Cactus Jack always keeps his promises, Sting! And to anyone else who's listening, heed this warning. Anyone standing between me and Sting, WON'T BE STANDING FOR VERY LONG! BANG BANG!!

- Animal tested positive for Hard Drugs again and threw a fit when I suspended him. So, I decided to just go ahead and fire him. Ellering was furious as well and since he'd already been written off tv for the time being after the attack by Sid at SNME: Vengeance, and since he's pretty much pointless to keep around with LOD now split, I decided to just release him too. It's just been one thing after another with Hawk or Animal since I started this save and I'm fed up making plans around guys I can't count on.

- The Lumberjack tested positive for Hard Drugs, so he's down to his final strike before suspension or rehab. I fined him and he was very unhappy.

- Jake Roberts also tested positive for Hard Drugs and is down to his last strike before suspension or rehab. A fine for Roberts lead to him being very unhappy. His sister Rockin' Robin was also very unhappy. The Ultimate Warrior though, who can't stand Jake, was thrilled.

- The British Bulldog got his first and second strikes for Hard Drugs as well and is also out of chances to avoid suspension or rehab. I fined him and he was very unhappy and it had a small negative impact on him. Bret and Owen were also very unhappy. The Mountie, as usual when the Bulldog screws up, was ecstatic.

- That leaves the following workers only one positive Hard Drugs test away from suspension or rehab:

This immediately caught Sting's attention and left him open to attack, as The Undertaker delivered a stiff thrust to the throat to floor The Stinger. The cloaked figures pushed the casket up next to the ring and made their exit as Paul Bearer shouted with glee at the sight of Undertaker having his way with Sting. Just moments later Sting found himself Clotheslined over the top rope and out of the ring next to the casket. Sting quickly recovered and started to get back in the ring when Paul Bearer tried taunting him into opening the casket. Sting resisted at first, but his curiosity eventually got the best of him. He didn't sit up this time though, allowing Warrior to hit yet another Running Splash. Following orders from Kevin Sullivan, Smash and Hercules carried a limp Warrior to the casket at ringside, placed him inside, and locked it. Undertaker and Sullivan joined them, and Bearer, at ringside and they started rolling the casket out of the arena. Luckily for Warrior, Crush and The British Bulldog came running back out with steel chairs and cleared The Army of Darkness from the scene. This prompted The Hulkster to actually run to the ring, where he went nuts on The Dragon to start this one. As Referee Danny Davis tried to force Hogan back in the ring to officially start the match, The Dragon used the opportunity to attack Hogan's leg he'd injured back in the summer. The Dragon works over the leg for a while before Hogan makes a comeback, finishing a furious spurt of offense by Back Body Dropping The Dragon over the top rope to the arena floor. The match settles into some nice back and forth action once Hogan puts Dragon back in the ring, with neither man on top for too long. There was even a nice little chain wrestling sequence, with Hogan showing off what he could do in a match if he preferred to wrestle more technically. At one point towards the end of the sequence, The Dragon actually seemed impressed by Hogan's technical prowess, as he could clearly be seen mouthing the word "wow." But that respect would be short-lived, as just a few minutes later The Dragon would go into his tights for the same foreign object he'd used to beat Hogan at Summerslam. He wouldn't get away with using it this time though, since Hogan knocked it out of his hand when he took a swing with it. When the referee went to pick it up and throw it outside though, The Dragon quickly pulled a second one out of his tights and decked Hogan with it instead. The referee didn't see this of course, and The Dragon went for the cover. Hogan kicks out and starts to "Hulk Up," no-selling all of The Dragon's attacks before connecting with 3 big right hands, a Big Boot, and finally The Big Leg Drop. Miraculously though, The Dragon kicks out. Stunned, Hogan starts arguing with Referee Danny Davis. The argument is getting pretty heated until The Dragon gets back up and attacks from behind, knocking Hogan into Davis, sending the ref through the ropes to the floor. The Dragon pulls the foreign object back out of tights and decks Hogan again, this time locking in a Figure 4 instead of going for the pin. Hogan is out like a light, but unfortunately for The Dragon, so is Davis. The Dragon eventually releases the hold, goes out and slaps Davis around a bit, and rolls him back into the ring before reapplying the Figure 4. Davis finally comes to enough to check on Hogan, slowly dragging himself up and over to The Hulkster. Initially, he gets no response, but just as he's about to call for the bell, awarding the match to The Dragon by "submission" just like at Summerslam, Hogan begins to come to life. The Dragon is furious, cinching the hold in tighter as he reaches for the ropes for extra leverage. Davis puts an end to that, kicking The Dragon's hand away just as he gets a finger on the bottom rope. The Dragon sat up to scream at Davis, not realizing he was now within striking distance of Hogan, who connected with several hard, right hands to punch his way out of the Figure 4. The match goes back and forth a little more, with The Dragon eventually taking the advantage and climbing to the top rope. He waits on Hogan to stand and goes for the Flying Crossbody. Hogan catches him though and hits a Body Slam to a thunderous pop. Hogan then hits the ropes and connects with another Big Leg Drop. The Dragon wouldn't kick out this time. But he did manage to get a foot on the rope at the last second! Hogan is livid again, getting into another shouting match with Referee Danny Davis, eventually shoving Davis so hard he does a 180. The moment Davis' back was turned The Dragon sprang up, well as much as he could "spring up" by this point in a long match, and connected with a low blow. Hogan, doing his best Hulk Hogan impersonation, no-sells the low blow. The Dragon begs off, pleading with Hogan to "forgive him." You would be hard-pressed to find a match anywhere in wrestling history with this much combined wrestling talent in one ring. However, the story of this match wouldn't come down to the wrestling! The Eliminations: - Jake Roberts was disqualified at 6:51 for shoving down Referee Earl Hebner, who was trying to stop Roberts from throwing Lucifer on Vader. **This left Savage, Vader, Rude & Zbyszko vs. Flair, B. Hart & O. Hart** - Owen Hart fought valiantly in his attempt to avenge the injury to Jim Neidhart caused by Vader and Rick Rude. Ultimately though, he was eliminated in fairly short order when Vader showed off his impressive aerial ability, hitting a Moonsault for the three at 9:24. **This left Savage, Vader, Rude & Zbyszko vs. Flair & B. Hart** - Larry Zbyszko was eliminated by submission following an entertaining back and forth sequence with Bret Hart, which ended when Hart managed to stand up out of a Larryland Dreamer(Guillotine Choke) and lock in a Sharpshooter at 15:15. **This left Savage, Vader & Rude vs. Flair & B. Hart** - Bret Hart had better luck in his revenge attempts than his brother Owen did, having his way with Rick Rude for a pretty good bit after he'd eliminated Zbyszko. That all changed when Vader tagged in though, as he ran roughshod over the Hitman, eliminating him with a Vader Bomb after a distraction by Sensational Sherri at 20:59. **This left Savage, Vader & Rude vs. Flair** - Flair enters the ring, prepared to face the dire situation like a man, but Vader doesn't attack. Instead, he simply backs away from the Nature Boy, exits the ring, and slowly begins walking toward the locker rooms. Savage is livid as he runs down Vader in the aisle, practically foaming at the mouth as he screams in his face for answers. And he gets his answer when he's attacked from behind by Rude! And Flair! It was a setup and with Vader joining in, the 3 on 1 beatdown was on. Although Elizabeth was unsuccessful in running away, a just as confused Sensational Sherri had the same idea and was able to escape. After dropping Savage chest first on top of the ringside barricade, Rude and Flair toss him back in the ring and tie him up in the ring ropes. Flair asks for and receives a mic, Flair: SAAVVAAGGE! I TRIED to do this, THE EASY WAY! BUT YOU WOULDN'T LISTEN! This is your LAST SHOT! I WANT A MATCH FOR THE WWF TITLE, OR ELSE! Bloodied, beaten, and at the mercy of a clearly unhinged Flair, Savage still adamantly refuses. Flair: Then you've left me NO CHOICE! Flair motions towards the back and Larry Zbyszko comes back to the ring. Zybszko grabs Elizabeth away from Vader and shoves her down on her back, stretching her arms out and holding them down. As Elizabeth tries to struggle free, Rude does the same to her legs. Flair nods to Vader as a panicked Savage realizes what's going on. It was the Vader/Damien situation all over again! Vader runs off the ropes, ready to hit a splash on Elizabeth, but Flair stops him as Savage starts screaming again, Flair: What's that, Savage? I didn't quite catch that! Flair sticks the mic up to Savage's face, Savage: YES! YOU'VE GOT YOUR MATCH! Smugly satisfied with himself, Flair orders his men to release Elizabeth. Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan open the show by welcoming Commissioner Graham to their aisle side stage, where Graham announces the first officially signed Survivor Series Elimination match. He says Money Inc. isn't through with The Legion of Doom yet, as they'll team up with their bodyguard Sid and Paul Orndorff to take on LOD, Mr. Perfect, and a partner of their choosing.

Graham finishes by saying he'll be announcing more Survivor Series matches throughout the night, including the main event. Monsoon ends the segment by sending us to the ring, where the previously mentioned Paul Orndorff is ready for action.

Paul Orndorff defeated B. Brian Blair in 6:28 by pinfall with a Spike Piledriver.

Back from commercial and there's a sudden commotion in the parking lot.

It's the Big Boss Man being attacked by Nikita Koloff and Dmitri.

The Big Boss Man is one of the toughest men in the WWF but he was no match for both Koloff and Dmitri, as they quickly overpower him and deliver a concise beating that ends when they violently slam a car door on his arm.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Can-Am Express defeated Virgil and Jim Powers in 7:40 when Doug Furnas defeated Virgil by pinfall with a Frankensteiner.

The Army of Darkness accepts the Ultimate Warrior's challenge for Survivor Series.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund is backstage next with "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and his crony Brian Pillman. Okerlund asks Michaels about Roddy Piper's comments last week and Michaels pulls no punches in responding to them.

Michaels: The answer is no, Roddy Piper. I didn't intend to start something with a senior citizen such as yourself. Because what's in it for The Heartbreak Kid? But I'll tell you what, old man. If you think I've started something, then I'd be happy to finish it! You just name the time an...

Commissioner Graham interrupts and says he's glad Michaels said that, since he'll be captaining a team at Survivor Series against a team led by Roddy Piper. It will be Shawn Michaels, Brian Pillman, Rick Martel and Buddy Landel versus Roddy Piper, The Rock n Roll Express, and WWF Television Champion, Michael Hayes.

In a decent match, Jake Roberts defeated Kato in 6:12 by pinfall with The DDT.

Back from commercial break, and it's time for Commissioner Graham to announce the Survivor Series main event. He gets straight to the point, in a simple, one-sentence announcement.

Graham: The Survivor Series main event will pit World Wrestling Federation Champion, Randy Savage, and his Kingdom, against the team of "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Owen, and Bret Hart, in a 4 on 4 Elimination Match.

It's time for the main event, as The Dragon takes on his former ally, Bam Bam Bigelow after The Dragon abandoned him at SNME: Vengeance. The Dragon rolls out in a wheelchair with his leg still in a cast and asks for a mic. Bigelow exits the ring to attack, but The Dragon starts begging for forgiveness. When that's obviously not working, The Dragon gets mad and has the nerve to accuse Bigelow of turning his back on him. That was the final straw as Bigelow charged at The Dragon. The Dragon quickly hopped up out of the wheelchair though and used the cast to kick Bigelow below the belt. He then ripped the cast off and began to whack Bigelow in the legs with it, as WWF officials intervened, eventually managing to get The Dragon and a worse for wear Bigelow in the ring to start their match.

Bigelow could never really get going in this one, as he'd apparently suffered a leg injury during the pre-match, cast beating. This was of course The Dragon's intention, so he focused all his offense on the legs, eventually taking the big man down for good by submission with a Figure Four Leglock at 9:40.

In a familiar post-match scene, The Dragon closed Bigelow's leg up in a steel chair and was prepared to break it with a flying stomp from the middle turnbuckle.

"Real American" suddenly blasted through the arena sound system though, as Hulk Hogan rushed to the ring to make the save. Prime Time goes off the air with Hogan checking on Bigelow, as an annoyed, but mostly satisfied Dragon looks on from the aisle.

His behavior did improve though as a result of my handling of the incident and he claimed to be very happy at the action. We'll see.

- I canceled my tv and event broadcast deals with WOWOW, a network with "tiny" coverage in Japan, and signed with NHK, a network with "big" coverage in Japan.

Really enjoyed that episode of Prime Time, top to bottom. Good stuff with Flair evening the odds to send the fans home happy.

Really fascinated by the steroid scandal here; the Savage incident is definitely noteworthy, and I'm very curious to see whether he, and some other top stars, get busted.

HBK vs. Piper is shaping up to be a lot of fun, and it's good to see the Harts back together!

Thanks, Broski! Yeah, I'm afraid the steroid stuff is gonna cause me a lot of grief as far as long-term planning goes. I actually chose to just run with it for that very reason though, as it can make things a lot more interesting.

- "With federal authorities breathing down his neck, Vince McMahon has reportedly instituted a tougher drug policy in the World Wrestling Federation. The scandal that won't go away continues to damage the WWF both financially and in terms of their national perception. Wrestlers throughout the USA are feeling the effects as well as the steroid scandal deals damage to the industry at large."

That was the top news story of the day for November 1st. I knew it was coming sometime in 1991, I just didn't know when. The results:

1.) My company prestige dropped from 93 to 83.
2.) I suffered "financial damage" to the tune of approximately $4,000,000
3.) The American wrestling industry "crashed" and is now at 14 and falling.
4.) Even though I didn't have to, I raised my drug testing from low level to medium level since the narrative says that's what happened. Medium level still just tests a "small random selection" of workers, but the tests are more accurate and will catch even small amounts of drugs in a person's system. This could lead to some very interesting results and situations!
