Okay apart from the fact you can turn off overuse penalties in the preferences (Did people not read the handbook ) I'm going to argue a different case in favour of the perception system.

Taking the specific angle of the Cody/Darby Allin draw I'm going to say that actually on it's own justifies the perception feature.

Cody Rhodes, coming off the biggest wave of momentum of his life ended up dragging unknown Darby Allin to a hot (not great and there is a difference) match. Now in TEW 2016 this would have resulted in Darby gaining what? 1 point in overness? If even? And would have hurt Cody way more than it helped him.

But within the specific context of our perception (get it) he jumped up to being a recognisable member of the AEW roster. People also have selective memory when it comes to Darby, he did wrestle between the Cody and Jericho matches, and what were they? Well a throwaway six-man tag match and then an opener against Jimmy Havoc.

So even the great Darby Allin was still in that auto-push as opener territory after the Cody match and it was OUR perceptions that propelled him up the card.

my announcer was working else where on a day i had 2 tapings for my tv show
in the first taping show he wasnt available, in the 2nd taping show he WAS available
thats not too consistent and i dont think thats how its supposed to work

Since shows are now run in order of importance it means he was holding out to work that bigger show, then didnt so made it down to work your second show. Theres a little bit of abstraction there but its 100% how the new system is supposed to work

I am gutted Karube has retired. She wasn't even that old!

I'm gonna miss her but I think it was necessary for her to step aside in order for the likes of Higa and Jippensha to make that step up.

Need to study their roster some more but might need to go out and get a Major Star or two for them to help out until I develop some on my own.

First show I had Bradley Blaze lose in the finale of the RCI and he dropped down to Star by the next show which I then got hit for not having any Major Stars appear for my February show.

Also need to hire an extra ref and road agent right away.

I still feel Maw is quite weak to start. I had Bradley Blaze just appear at the RCI in a segment not even in a match and he dropped down to Star. Things feel very precarious for them

It could be, I just wanted to bring it to other people's attention. One of my only real gripes from TEW 2016 was the ass-backwards booking the AI would lay down every now and then. Top of my list for 2020 was for the AI to up its game and book stuff a little more realistically. I'm a sucker for it.

I'm still optimistic. Like we've been saying, it's day #1. I'm just glad different players are scouting out different aspects of the game to make sure everything is working ok hopes are still very high. I can see 2020 being absolutely amazing.

The one gripe I have with the whole "well it's only day one" point is that apparently this game was in closed testing for a number of weeks before now and I just dont understand how the AI booking being such nonsense got through unless the AI itself is inherently just broken and beyond repair

I have to say the extremely strict angle and match lengths are definitely hurting my enjoyment but the one mechanical change I really cant stand is that I cant change the match/angle ratio at ALL? I'd totally understand if there was limits I had to keep within but having absolutely 0 control over that is really off putting and actually makes me book shows in way less creative ways

If I'm being totally honest I'm not entirely happy with where MAW, as my favourite cverse company have ended up. I was so excited for producing new talent with the dojo and now they've ended up as a Dev with a large portion of its roster on loan from TCW.

Personally I thought MAW in 2016 didnt start off particularly strong outside of the Greg Gauge but tbh I think the 2020 roster is exceptionally weak.

After what just happened today IRL, I think we might see something similar now happen in TEW. Maybe not COVID itself (which no live events might not happen until next year, I hadn't heard that until today), but the entire global economy and stuff crashing and burning right at the start of the game. Causing a lot of companies to have to do what they can until it revives.

If that happens (just spitballing), probably means USPW has to get rid of contracts ASAP. If TCW is in Cult now, will they survive. I could see any UK promotion that started up after 21CW bought up everyone, they are going to struggle. Women promotions are going to be probably hardest hit other than the two majors, since they are new.

Even if TEW doesn't do this, I might make this a scenario right out of the gate.

Adam was pretty adamant that nothing like Covid-19 would make it into the game

Hey all if there's one thing I love its speculating on a story and trying to think about where things are going so I thought it would be fun to have a thread where we put our predictions for what the state of the Cverse will be come April 30th. I'll get the ball rolling by dropping some of my big ones.

I think at least 1 new company will be in the COTT but I also think OLLIE will have outgrown the Confederation and will have struck out on it's own.

In desperate need of a youth movement I can see USPW buying out a smaller company (my thoughts is MAW) to use for its dojo and as a developmental affiliate. Especially given dev companies are now playable it wouldn't cause too many issues.

I think TCW will have dropped firmly out of the push to be one of the biggest companies in the US and will actually be on its last legs like late-stage AWA in real life.

And finally I think the new Indian region will be spearheaded by a former top tier worker, now in their mid to late 40s looking to hit it big in a new market with a company where they can book themselves to the top. (Maybe even Tommy Cornell)

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Hal Harvard defeated Bradley Blaze in 15:19 by pinfall with a Forward Russian Legsweep after Jonah Pilgrim interfered. Hal Harvard makes defence number 5 of his Mid Atlantic American title.

•Blaze seemed to have the match won after ten minutes until Pilgrim distracted the referee.

•Hal Harvard distracted the official a few minutes later which allowed Jonah Pilgrim to hit Blaze with a low blow to give Harvard the opening he needed to win the match.

In a decent match, George Wolfe defeated Miller Fforde in 16:48 by two straight falls, with the final fall happening by pinfall with a Running Powerslam.

•In a two-out-of-three falls match to decide who truly was the better man, Wolfe was dominant.

•Miller Fforde managed short bursts of offence but never looked likely to pin Wolfe.

•Wolfe and Fforde have great chemistry as opponents.

The Architect came out to the ring and stood face to face with George Wolfe, he leaned in and appeared to say something to the bigger man but Wolfe simply barged past him and went to the back.
